Crafters and home decorators have long been delighted by the charming appeal of folk art effects, which are simple to achieve without special materials or training. This book explores and celebrates the pleasure of creating beautiful pieces for the home that have a practical purpose, using traditional craft-making techniques.
The book title is wrong. This book is not about food; it's about making folk art-related crafts and furniture. There are lots of lovely pictures inside that show folk art style settings, and many projects to do. There are instructions on how to make and decorate objects from simple household items to large furniture in folk art style. The results (from the photos) are very authentic indeed. The book also gives a fascinating insight into the history of folk art, its influences, and elements (such as colours, motifs, themes, etc). I only wish the book had been printed in at least A4 or letter size (it's approximately half A4 now) so both text and pictures would be bigger. I had to squint a lot when reading this book because the text was tiny!
