At the end of Submit, Arianna Harlow had enough pride in herself to walk away from Rafe Palazzo, who had started their relationship using blackmail. Though she’d fallen in love with him, she was strong enough to say goodbye. We saw the softer side of Rafe, especially toward the end, but it was too late…
Or was it?
Seduced begins almost two years after Ari starts her new life. She is teaching at a community college, and when she asks the class whether they have any questions for her, Rafe is there and has only one: Will you go on a date with me?
What is Ari’s answer? You’ll find out in the third installment of Melody Anne’s New York Times best-selling series, Surrender.
Along with Ari’s story, we will see what happens when Shane and Lia become trapped together on an island when a tropical storm hits, and how the sparks will fly again.
And we can’t forget about Rachel Palazzo, who isn’t looking for love, but finds it in a shocking way.
This story continues the lives of Ari, Lia and Rachel. These three women are resilient, determined, and worth loving. The question is, whether the men in their lives strong enough to keep them.
Nobody likes sexy men, sassy heroines, and emotionally charged books, right? WRONG! We all want to feel extraordinary when we read, and that's exactly what you'll get when you pick up a Melody Anne book. She has the feel-good stories of a damsel in distress with prince charming riding in to save the day . . . and she also has emotionally charged books that take you through a journey of emotion as you try to figure out if you love or hate the characters as they find themselves. What you get at the end of every Melody Anne book is a resolution that has you begging for more.

I am generally not a pre-order book person, but I did with this book as I really liked Submit and Surrender in this series and was hopeful that Seduced would follow the same lines. I really enjoy Melody Anne’s writing style and books but I was kind of disappointed with the way this story played out. I wish that this book had been more about Rafe and Ari and how they get back together. What changes both Rafe and Ari went through to make them able to love each other for the long haul. Instead it was about Rafe, Ari, Shane, Lia, Rachel and Ian. I think that Rachael and Ian and Shane and Lia would have been better served to have their own “spin-off” story instead of trying for three for one deal. I also feel that at the least Rafe and Ari should have gotten closure in this book – it is frustrating to have to wait for Book 4 now – to find out how it all ends. I think these books will be the last “series” book releases for me for a while, unless all the books are all already released. I don’t really like this new trend in having stories carry over from book to book to book with no resolution.
I'm so into this series and let me tell you there is a lot going on in this book!
There are three different stories going on here. First we have the story of Rafe and Ari. Rafe has been working with Shane in South America for two years and has become a changed man. The entire time he's not forgotten about Ari and has kept an eye on her from afar. Finally he's decided that he has to win her back and sets out to do that. Rafe does show he's different and sets out to win Ari's trust.
The second story is about Shane and Lia. Shane has been trying to win Lia over again for the last two years as well, but Lia is one stubborn chick. Shane tricks Lia into getting on a boat with him under the disguise of work, but he's not paying attention and they become shipwrecked on a tiny island and no one knows where they are. Shane's now got Lia where he wants her....all to himself....so she has to listen to him. In their story we find out more about Shane's past and watch Lia stand by her man. But Shane soon reveals one more secret that lands him in trouble again with Lia. Sometimes I just want to shake Lia!
The third story is about Rachel and Ian. Rachel is about to start her first "grown-up" job and decides to take a mini vacation all by herself first. While swimming, a stranger mistakes her holding her breath for drowning and jumps in to pull her to safety. The stranger, Ian and Rachel decide to throw caution to the wind and have a weeklong affair. They don't give each other their last names and decide to part when their week is over. Little does Rachel know that Ian is the King of Corythia.
All three couples have their own "hot and steamy" sexy scenes that leave you....
Without giving away too much here, later there Rachel reveals some shocking news and then in turn receives some as well. Even though Ian is a "king", lets just says....
Now I just have to wait until November for the fourth and final book Scorched to come out.
I just cant I dont give a rip about Lia or Ravhel or Shane or Ian all I wanted was Rafe and Ari, I really feel the authour is just tring to extend the series by adding all this stuff. she had a good thing going with the first book and if she wanted to tell the other stories she should have done stand alone books for them, I couldnt even finish I wish I vould have my time back....zero stars and returning the book
Oh I so wanted to give this 4 or 5 stars, because I love Melody Annes books, but I really can't as it would discredit all my other reviews.
Don't get me wrong, I did enjoy this book and I had really been looking forward to it, and am really looking forward to the next one, but I didn't 'love it', in fact there were times when I was bloody frustrated with the book and wanting to shout "what the hell is going on with this book?". I am so gutted that I am writing a review like this about one of my favourite authors.
The issues I have with it are the following:
There are a few minor typos/grammar, one where the Kings name is spelt incorrectly. But TBH it was all minor and, apart from the name typo, didn't detract from my enjoyment of the book. As I always mention typos/grammar in other reviews, it's only fair I do the same with this one, despite loving the authors work.
This is one of the big ones for me, the book chapters are split between different people, i.e. one chapter will be Rafe, the other Ari, another Rachel, the next Lia, etc. Other authors do this and it makes sense, for me it didn't make sense to do it this way for this book. Personally it would of been better to have split the book up into 3 novellas to be read consecutively. This way each storyline would still have the natural crossovers, culminating in the wedding, but could be expanded to reflect the scenarios from different characters perspectives. At one point I debated about actually skipping chapters to follow one storyline at a time, and then go back to follow the next storyline. In hindsight I wish I had done that, because how the chapters are currently laid out is very jumpy, you just get into Rafe/Ari, then all of a sudden it's Lia and you're wondering "hang on what happened there".
The main reason the alternating character chapters did not make sense to me, was because they all appeared to be different timelines. One storyline appeared to be in days, another in weeks. I can't remember correctly now, but I think Ari/Rafe were in weeks at one point, then the next chapter was Lia/Shane which was in days, Rachel was in days then the next time we saw her it was in weeks, but the other chapters were now in days. I know I haven't explained it correctly, but hopefully you get my drift. This is why I feel 3 separate novellas leading up to the wedding would of made more sense, and then the next book could flow naturally from this point.
Ridiculous third book loved the Ari Rafe story but all the other outlandish rubbish has spoilt this for me the author obviously wants various spin offs from this will not be reading next book
I have loved Rafe and Ari from the start. Rafe saw that he needed to fix himself, the part of him that was broken and hard inside. He knew that he could not be with Ari unless he could like/love himself. You could see the turmoil in Ari face when Rafe showed up in her classroom unannounced after 2 years. Watching him do homework was classic. He never backed down and finally was able to prove that he had changed and loved her. I have to say the proposal was one of the most romantic scenes I have read. I cried!! It was about time that Lai and Shane got together. She learned about his past and helped him bury his demons. But they still have a tough road ahead with her insecurities. OH MY GOSH, Rachel and the Prince….who knew we would see him again! I hope that Sandra and her Prince Charming get married; she deserves a happy ending just like her daughter. I know that Melody Anne will give us the ending we will all be hoping for, November cannot come soon enough. If you have not read any of this authors books, you need to. You are missing out!
While I still find myself intrigued with these characters, I just felt like this book was truly all over the place. I don't mind reading books with different points of view that flip around a little bit, or even a lot, but there's a real art to those books and unfortunately, this one came out as just messy. Time frames were all over the place, which is always messy to me as a reader. I also can't help but be annoyed with how impossibly stiff some of the dialogue is. Assuming these books are contemporary (which they are) I just honestly don't know anyone, especially men, who speak so flowery and formally. I usually try to ignore this kind of thing, but the problem is that the overly formal speech really hinders me from connecting with the characters. When I finished book two in this series, I was frustrated for the same reasons and said I wouldn't read the third book... then I did. Odds are, I'll probably end up checking out the fourth as well. Again, very intriguing characters, but a frustrating writing style for my taste.
really hated this book and really loved it at the same time. first thing, I hate that rafe and Ari's story is cheated because the author felt that all six characters needed to have their point if view seen. that isn't necessary. write separate books for them. what really makes me mad is that at 92%, the book is finished. I believe it should at least make it to 98%.
I love each and everyone of these characters it series is one of my favorites. I love Ari and Rafe and I absolutely love that he begged and begged until he finally was able to get Ari back with them Lia and Shane I might need a book just of them too but I love their chemistry and banter Rachel and Adrian oh this one is hot 🥵 royal baby hair oh this will so much fun to read in the next book Love it
Nothing too dark and dank, but there are some hardships, some sadness, definitely some laughs, and for sure a ton a charm and wit! This is the third installment on the Surrender series and I honestly thought it was the last... but low and behold a new hot little baby to keep these fires burning will be out soon. Once again Melody Anne keeps our heads spinning and hearts a flutter! I can't even begin to say all the things I want to say but I'll definitely try...
Ok, let's start with Rafe. Wow he's a changed man. He's no longer the ass I thought him to be, but don't get me wrong, he is still very much the alpha male he has been in past books, but more diverse. A lot has transpired in his life, some good, some bad, but it has altered him in so many ways that I find myself feeling empathy towards him and not just that.... he's made me fall in love with him all over again if that's even possible! You'll absolutely learn a ton of things about Rafe in this one! Now Ari on the other hand, well, she changed too, but I have to confess, the transformation was pissing me right the heck off. I'm glad she grew a backbone and all, but she just seemed too inflexible at times and my poor kindle kept getting slammed down on account of her! Thanks Mel! Tons of supporting characters; Shane and Lia, Ian and Rachael, and all the others make up this wonderful story.
The writing manner is absolutely, without a doubt so simple to read and flows very nicely. In reality, this book is like getting three books in one. There is more than just Rafe and Ari's story going on here and at first I was surprised by it, but glad to see how the next installments may or may not go. I'm already in love with the rest of these characters, so it'll be no hardship for me to read their books!! LOL! Just get ready for tons of turmoil... weddings, shipwrecks, death, deception, hot steamy sex, break ups, and make ups! It's 325 (Kindle Version) pages long and quite honesty, I don't know how Melody packed this all into that, but she did and you won't be disappointed!
I always love seeing how the point of view changes from one character to the next, I honestly feel it's the only way to show us (the readers) how each and every character feels about a situation or what not. The pacing was good and as far as the highs and lows go, well, there's just too many to declare, but I will say this... you'll be clutching onto your kindle/book at times, wanting to throw it against the wall at others, and in between, you'll sob, giggle, and groan!
I give this book 5 stars, 2 snaps and a mmmmmm hmmmm. I was very nervous starting this book because I honestly wasn't sure how I felt about this being 2 years from the previous book. Well Ms. Anne, i bow to you chanting "I'm not worthy I'm not worthy". You did not disappoint. I very clearly saw that this time showed how Rafe developed and grew from the previous 2 books in the series. Rafe showing up in her class was cute, got to wonder the school policies on professor/student relationships at that college ;). Oh and thank you for making Lia/Shane and Rachel/Ian. Let's tackle Lia and Shane, lost on a island in the Mediterranean, yes please. I read in the beginning note from the author wanted love scenes in the rain and a waterfall. You did not fail the readers with that love scene. Good thing it was raining because it would have set that tiny island on FIRE! My favorite scene that rocked my world was the first love scene with Rachel and Ian. I loved these 2 in their week long affair. Can I quote you Ms. Anne? Oh hell I'm gonna anyways "When he reached the top of her panties, she waited for him to remove them, but he kissed her right over the top of the material, his wet tongue swiping the revealing lace. She'd never imagined something feeling so good, but when he reached the apex of her core, and sucked her swollen flesh through the lace, she jumped, her body nearly exploding with one touch of his masterful lips." GOOD GOD. I got lost in their extremely sexual, not strings attached, flirty, fun and very relaxing week long affair. I think the surprise they received (don't want to give it away)but Ian's behavior after the surprise upset me because I wanted the caring and relaxed Ian back. This Ian is demanding and pretty much a caveman. I half expected him to club her and toss her over his shoulder. Well I guess in some ways he did do that but Rafe is gonna kick his but, King or not you don't mess with the Palazzo's. Sad that ARi and Rafe's nuptials were postponed. oh and to back track a bit, the whole proposal with Rafe and Ari BEST PROPOSAL EVAH!!! Rafe has come a long way and that part of the book proved just how much. I cannot wait to read "Scorched". November cannot come fast enough.
Absolutly loved this book! It keep getting better and better! In this book the story between Rafe and Ari continuous. After Ari left Rafe, he sees what he miss it, but Ari wants nothing with Rafe, what he makes her do and how he treats her its inexcusable. The time goes by but neither of them is capable to forget each other. Ari tells Rafe that he has to change and become a better person, only the time will say if he deserves a second chance. Two years after , after many life experiences, Rafe is certain that he is a changed man , worthy of Ari's love. Ari is now a teacher, her dream happened, her love life is empty, she still has feelings for Rafe, but does he really a better man, capable to give and receive love without demandings? You really have to read the book.... This book also enter deep in Shane and Lia's romance, so many events are happening between them, Lia is stubborn, and holds a grudge with Shane, but they love each other deeply. Shane tells more about his past and he has a present situation that maybe can put their relationship at risk. And the surprise in this book is Rachel. she meets a misterious man, they have a week of pure lust with no strings attached. But after this week, something happened and will dramatically change Rachel's life.
This book has it all, I didn't give 5 stars, because I want more of Ari and Rafe in this book, and I think the others couple are so good that they deserve a exclusive book, I know the story will continue with all of them, but it seems I always want more os each other!
When I read the first two books in the Surrender Series, I couldn’t wait for this book to come out. It was definitely worth the wait and I finished it very quickly. Now, I am waiting for the next one!
Ari and Rafe are one of my favorite book couples and have been since Book #1. This book picks up two years after the end of Book #2 and shows a “new and improved” Rafe. Actually, Rafe is still Rafe, he just has finally realized just what Ari means to him and knows he has to approach her differently than in the past. Ari is wary of him and his motives but as the book progresses, Rafe does an excellent job of “wooing” her.
This book also follows Shane & Lia’s story in more depth. There story is one of deep love on both sides but a whole lot of “stubbornness” on Lia’s side. It was nice to finally find out more about Shane and his life. This book reveals many of his secrets. A new romantic addition in this book was Rachel’s story.
Rachel has her week of passion with her stranger which is totally out of character for her. What she didn’t realize was just how that week would impact the rest of her life. It will be interesting to follow more of this storyline in the next book.
Melody Anne did a great job once again in this book. I am very addicted to this series and will be counting down to the next book! More of Shane and Lia, more of Rachel and the King but most of all more of Ari and Rafe! Five stars for all of this series!
Remind me to find someone that will refuse to give up on me like that. Good grief. I love Rafe's relentless pursuit of Ari. I love that she took her time to get back into the relationship too, no just jumping into it all willy-nilly. And
So, Lia and Shane. That's a little bit of hotness there. And Rachel and Ian? Damn. Everyone is getting just way too much drama in their life all at once. I don't even know how to take the big cliffhanger at the end of the book.
I'm a little sad I have to wait a two more months for the next book, because I cannot wait to see how this all wraps up. Going in the re-read pile! :)
OH! And I love love loved the note from the author in the beginning, so let me end with that -- "Why romance? Because we all need to dream. We all need to spread our wings. We all need to push for what we deserve in life."
Melody Anne....you never cease to amaze me and again you did not disappoint (tho I know you never could)! This book as are all of yours is fun, engaging, enraging, sexy, passionate and just plain good. I truly get lost in your books, in your words.
In the Surrender Series, I have watched Rafe learn to forgive and to love. I have watched Ari learn to stand on her own two feet. I have watched them learn to trust each other. I am so in love with this series.
Seduced....Rafe is a new man (or is he); Ari is an unforgiving woman (or is she)? Rachel, Lia and Shane complete the family. They all have their own demons....but can, does love overcome all?
I really liked this book. The constant swapping of POV's between the six...yes six...characters didn't really bother me. The only thing that bothered me was that Rachel and Ian's story was lumped in here. I really wish they had their own book because their story captivated me from their first meeting. I also enjoyed the new and improved Rafe with a heart. He was so kind and loving. This book contained the most romantic proposal ever written in a book, so so beautifu, but I'm not going to say who proposed to whom. Just that it was swoon worthy. I can't wait for the fourth and final book "Scorched" to be released next month.
Hmm book 3 in this series. You get three couples that play this back n forth lust/love game. Most of the story is the cont of Ari and Rafe but secondary characters are stealin the show. Shane/Lia and Ian/Rachel. *possible spoiler if ya care Half the book is Rafe tring to win Ari back just to end with a wedding that never happens and a mysterous note.
My take is that the book series both are really drawn out and way too much will i wont i drama. However i still continue to read on because I strive for that ultimate ending. It's not that I hate this series or book but that it seems to never stop.
OMG!!! I am so in love with this book!!! I have followed Rafe's and Ari's story from the start and I just love them. I think it's amazing how both of them have matured and changed for the better. It's as though they have each, unknowingly, "prepared" themselves to be with each other ultimately. Soulmates is the word that comes to mind when I think of Rafe and Ari. Bonus to this book is that there are actually 3 love stories happening at the same time and I cannot wait to read more. November can't come soon enough for me! A must read!!!
At one point, I really wasn't enjoying this one at all, but I did enjoy getting more of Shane's story, and Rachel's story might be interesting. I'm just not sure what the author didn't give Shane and Lea and Rachel and Ian their own books. I think that would have worked better than just snippets and all the back and forth from one couple to another. I have already downloaded the last book. I have to be honest, if these books weren't in KU, I probably wouldn't have read past the first one, regardless of the cliff-hanger. Happy reading!
You did it again, Melody Anne. I wish I could write as good as you. Unfortunately, although I have many stories to tell, I wouldn't know where to begin. But, reading your work, which is never a difficulty, inspires me. You inspire me. Keep doing what you do best. I cannot wait for scorched. Or my dark angels, I need to know how they are, desperately!!
So here's an update on this book! ...Totally swept me off my feet! I love the way the author gave each character their own spotlight a chapter at a time while still incorporating every one together throughout the book. And let me just add; some one can propose to me like that ANY.TIME.! I can't wait till NOV for the last book! I know it'll be breath-taking! :) ♥
Another cliffhanger of a book. Roll on the conclusion in book 4. Ari and Rafe are back together finally, he's a changed man. He is almost human now! So much going on with Ari and Rafe, with shane and lia and with Rachel and hernew man. Sometimes I got a bit confused who was telling the story in a particular chapter but all in all in all I enjoyed it.
Enjoyed this book like the others the only problem I had with it was the girls took forever to forgive the guys. Two years...really? I know women can hold a grudge hell if you look it up the dictionary my face will be there, but then again it took the men two years or more to grow a pair. I guess I just wanted they to get over it already or find someone else!
I loved this book :) can't wait for Rachel's story :). I find that with a series of books the 2nd or 3rd book generally disappoints but this was not the case with this series so far :) oooh I can't wait to read what happens when rafe goes for Rachel, whoop whoop, fire works, Lol
I have mixed reviews about this book. I really wished that the other two love stories weren't so elaborately told, maybe a spin off perhaps? I just wanted more of Rafe and Ari! However, I did enjoy the chase Ari gave Rafe, and I love that he never gave up...book 4, here I come.
The layout of this changed significantly. Books 1 & 2 focused on Rafe and Ari; the characters I got hot for. But book 3 bounces among 6 characters and still left us hanging for that ending. I admit I will read book 4, but I feel like I am being strung along.
I can't believe there is another cliff hanger and I have to wait until November to find out what is going to happen! I wish the author would have wrapped up Ari and Rafe's story and continued his sister's stories separately. Sigh....until November!
