On the night that I came face to face with death, I was rescued by the most gorgeous man I’d ever laid eyes on. A cunning bratva boss who I had no business getting mixed up with, A dangerous man whose kisses tasted like wild summer days and a thousand bad decisions.
But staying with him was simply not an option, And falling for him would ruin me forever. So, I allowed our chance encounter to end after just one passionate night under the stars.
But I should’ve known it would never be that simple, That two people from such different worlds would leave an impact that the universe would never forget, Because we’re no longer just two people falling into a torturous forbidden love…
I loved the main characters Vera and Ruslan. Despite the scary, haired experience she endured she stayed true to herself. Ruslan was a decisive man taking care of bratva business. When the two met they were definitely enemies. They did the bedroom wiggle to scratch an itch. It did not change the animosity they had towards the other. I did enjoy reading about Ruslan's brother Misha and his mentor Yan. Both were influential in his life. But little by little Vera and Ruslan went from enemies to lovers. But danger still dogged them and had some devastating results. Vera helped to ground Ruslan. Vera for as young as she was was very mature and was able to handle serious situations proudly. In the end all things ended up new and exciting but with memories of never forgetting the past and honoring those who went before them. A very good story. I liked it very much.

It's nicely done with world building characters and great storyline that captures the audience attention from the first chapter and keeps you riveted and engaged all the until the end. A story of mistaken identity of college student Vera whose from the wrong side of the track, which led to kidnapping from the dangerous and cunning Bratva boss Ruslan with. The chance encounter led to one steamy and passionate night underneath the stars which subsequently ended with the baby in her belly. They were opposite attracts, forbidden, taboo, action packed, twists and turns, suspense, drama, danger, violence, hurt, hatred, resentment, anger, acceptance, pain, tension, emotions, abduction, surprise pregnancy, forced proximity, passion and so much more.

This book is 285 pages, yet it felt like the book was 100 pages. The pacing was odd. About half the story happens within a 24-hour time frame. Then, a few weeks pass off-screen. The plot follows this pattern again.
Ruslan was a terrible character. He was cruel to Vera, and then he expected her to care for him. Vera did care for him, and it made her seem naive.
There's a point where a character being dragged through the mud stops being entertaining. The book begins with Vera being bullied by her so-called friends. She is a poor girl who had to work for what she had. Eric was a terrible addition to the story. What was the point of Vera almost going on a date with him? So Ruslan could run him over. She goes through traumatic experiences. She's trampled over during a shooting and kidnapped. Only to fall in love with a man who didn't seem to communicate with her.
Don't worry this messy couple ended up having a son. They take him back to the fair where the shooting happened. The End.
I had a hard time connecting with the characters. I usually like books of this type of genre, but I didn't feel like this one was truly hitting the genre like it should. There was no true definition to the characters themselves, and the brava realm, in particular, was lackluster. I felt like the book was an unfinished product to me. I feel like if the author had went back in and added more characters surrounding the brava, given the main characters more definition, maybe given a better narrative on the school characters or Eric in particular and what happened with that, then it would have made the novel a more well rounded and easier to read book.
I’m sorry, but this book was trash. I had to start then stop then start again and in the end the book was horrible. It had all the elements of a great book, but the plot was all over the place. How are you apart of the Bratva and only have two people in your gang and they both die?! Mobs, in general, tend to have more people than that. I’m mad I wasted time reading this and the ending was the same sentence in a 5 final paragraphs. Lord this was painful. I’ll try another book by the author but not right now. I need a palate cleanser for this sour book. Jesus. 🤦🏾♀️
This is well edited and has a smooth flow of writing. That being said, a Bratva boss with no mention of whom he is bossing anywhere. Why is he alone? Why is he waiting by port A potties at a crowded carnival full of children for his “deal” for 40 or so minutes? Where is his team? Where are the full staff members at his home? Why is he using an abandoned decaying barn that anyone could access and/or purchase for his merch? Unguarded? A rich kid trying to make his mark on the world is what I was left with. The love story was good. The rest? Not believable.
The most convoluted Bratva story ever. Story and details are all over the place. Why would he go alone to a meet if he had a crew? Why was the safe house/warehouse an old falling-in barn with half a roof? Why could his brother be buried in a cemetery in another state, yet the "mentor" was buried in a shallow grave behind the falling-down barn? The story idea was a good one, the details were not thought out or researched very well.
This book starts off making you wonder about the authors plot for the book. The Bratva character is unbelievable in demeanor and the female character a silly girl who hasn’t any backbone. Loose strings are left, left and right. Decision’s are made that are trite and out of character. Why would a college student on full scholarship who has just months to graduate not do so??? Weak and unrealistic just like plot.
The story is all over the place. There's a weird insta-love element. Emotions are all over the place. It failed to grab my attention but it was a short read so I stuck it out. No chemistry between the main characters in my opinion. FMC is essentially kidnapped by the MMC but has no qualms rubbing up against him and sleeping with him in the barn hideout. Ok then....
Different perspective to see a kind emotional brat a boss. However t Storyline lacked depth and meaning. Declaring live after only 4 weeks together was a bit extreme. Iv read alot of Bella Kings works and unfortunately this is probably the worst one. Good story foundations but lacked grit and depth.
This was not about a bratva….it was a thug with mental issues and an annoying h with bipolar. One minute she is confident the next she lets people trample on her. Grammatical errors throughout, word has spellcheck…just fyi. Keep trying, but this was not good.
All Vera was looking for was to make friends and gain acceptance, but she got more than she bargained for when Ruslan took her for the wrong person. Their story is filled with exciting twists and turns that captured me from the first page.

The author has given us a heart pounding older man/younger woman story that pulls us into the lives of Ruslan and Vera. The story keeps us turning the pages with danger, connection, secrets and steam.

I like the story line but I’m confused because he is head of the Bratva but he has no personal guards and his home is not secure. He doesn’t seem to have a. CrewJust a story with a lot of unanswered questions. What h to Eric?
Not really a mafia book. It’s okay but if you’re expecting The normal Bratva read you’re going to be disappointed, unless a mafia consists of 3 people. The chemistry okay between the main characters. Not for me though
It was not what I expected? Story was good, I was expecting more of the Bratva side? It's more about Ruslan's point of view and Vera's point of view. They meet under unusual circumstances and end up together, falling in love with a HEA.
Vera is a college student who inadvertently. saves the head of the Bratva by asking him for help. Russian was waiting to meet up with someone , but he was a target.
Had great potential but the baby side of things doesn't get featured until about 60% of the way through the book and then there's a few conversations about it and an epilogue 8 years after. It's also quite slow in general.

What a sad and chilling book. I love the main characters and what happens to them throughout the story. This is a good mafia theme and if you like that you will enjoy this book.
I enjoyed Ruslan and Vera’s book. It was an intriguing, fun read. I felt for Vera and didn’t like her so called friends at all. And am voluntarily leaving my review.
