Wow, I loved this. It was hard to put down. The story is great and the relationships between the characters were so detailed that it was easy to imagine their interactions as real people. When I had to stop reading and attend to real life, I found myself wondering how they were doing.
I think one of the strengths of this book is that there are not many characters in it. It added a simplicity to Cody's story that I thought was appropriate.

This was a very tumultuous story. Intertwined relationships come about with fierce love and abusive scenarios. It might be a trigger warning for some on various levels. It will keep you page turning.

As complicated as life itself

This book is for anyone who has ever had a complicated relationship with a family member, particularly a parent. The layers of love, hate, guilt, wanting, and more are explored so well, and with clarity that is not sappy.
I could see this book as a movie, mostly because the scenes and dialogue are so well written.

I really enjoyed this book. So much so, I read it in less than 24 hours. I just couldn't put it down and when I did, I found myself wondering what was going to happen next. I got mine on Amazon for Kindle. You won't be disappointed.

It was pretty good, not my usual kind of book but it kept my interest. I've read a few "family drama" type books and this was one of the better ones I've read. Short, but still the perfect length to tell the story of a strained father/son relationship.

Classic tale of father and son, love and hate, and final meeting of the minds and heart. I quite liked this book and never found it maudlin or over done. I wish we could rate books 3.5 as I am torn betweena 3 and a 4 star for this one, so will go with the 4.

This book was excellent! One of the best books I've read in a while. I downloaded it on my Kindle when I saw it listed as a freebie for a day. I am so happy I did! I would gladly pay the list price for this. I highly recommend this to anyone that's looking for a good read.

Blood and Gasoline

This is a very good book and I read it in one evening. The story runs the gamut of emotions- love, hate, anger, fear, surprise, dread and hope. I was disappointed with Cody's incident at the end of the novel, though.

Good.

Liked this book a lot, but didn't love it quite as much as his other books. The thing I do love the most about his books are that they could be true.
