Carlyle's House and Other Sketches marks the first publication of one of Virginia Woolf's very earliest notebooks. Recently unearthed from a collection of private papers, it contains a series of six striking and semi-autobiographical sketches, each transcribed and edited by Dr David Bradshaw.
About the Author:
Acclaimed for her innovative and inventive style, Virginia Woolf (1882-1941) is one of the most important figures of the Modernist Movement. Her works include To the Lighthouse, A Room of One's Own and Mrs Dalloway.
David Bradshaw is Fellow and Tutor in English Literature at Worcester College, Oxford. His has edited and introduced numerous works, and he provides a comprehensive introduction and notes for this first edition of Carlyle's House and Other Sketches.
