Lottie Sprigg and her employer, Mrs Moore, are guests at Vienna’s opulent Schönbrunn Palace. But their visit goes awry when the corpse of a renowned psychoanalyst is found in the grounds. There’s a handful of suspects and - tragically for Mrs Moore - one of them is her beloved Prince Manfred.
Mrs Moore is devastated that her beau has been caught up in the crime. And she soon discovers he’s been keeping other secrets from her, too.
Lottie is tasked with proving Prince Manfred’s innocence. But with overwhelming evidence against him, has she any chance of success? As she scours Vienna for clues, Lottie wonders if the jolly Bavarian prince has been hiding a darker side all along…
While Lottie Sprigg is solving mysteries with her beloved corgi, Rosie, I like curling up by the fire with a good book and a mug of hot chocolate. I love reading mysteries as much as I enjoy writing them, nothing beats the puzzle of a whodunnit! I hope you decide to join Lottie on her adventures to Venice, Milan, Paris and many more!

Well, this was delightful. Fun and intriguing, I had a great time while reading it.
I enjoyed very much the way in which the Prince was dealt off *laughs*. He very much deserved it and I'm glad Mrs Moore got to her senses and saw that she deserves better than a spoiled child.
In regards to the mystery, only in chapter 41 did I really begin to suspect who was the culprit, but hey, at least I got it right at the end :P
I wonder if Lotty will still be solving crimes when they are back in London, and if Mrs Moore Lothario nephew will be part of them *g* If not, this is a good place to end the series, although I hope this is not the last time we'll hear of them :D
"Murder in Vienna" is the current book in the Lottie Sprigg 1920s cozy mystery series. Lottie and her employer, the middle-aged rich American Mrs Roberta Moore, travel to Vienna, the city of Mozart and Beethoven. Mrs Moore still thinks she has a chance to marry Prince Manfret (the most eligible bachelor in Europe) but a murder of which the prince is the primary suspect complicates this.
Besides Lottie's delightful dog Rosie, we are also introduced to Mrs Moore's hapless nephew Barty whom Lottie must save from a precarious romance.
As usual with this series, there are a number of interesting suspects, all with their own secrets, and Lottie makes friends with locals who aid her in solving the mystery. I did not guess the murderer!
Apparently this is the last in the five book series for a while, and I highly recommend reading the entire series from the beginning.
What a clean, fun, light murder mystery. I liked the characters and the setting and honestly, if my children were little (even 5th grade!) I think I could have listened to this in the car with them. There are no bad words. The characters mostly have nice manners (well, except for a murderer, a case of infidelity, a two-timing, no-good, entitled member of royalty, and a couple of dishonest cheaters—but that’s real life, right?). Lessons are learned, and I think I’ll read another in the series.
Lottie and Mrs. Moore are still following the prince. This time, however, is going to be different. There will of course be a murder to solve, but Mrs. Moore will be in pursuit as well. Murder in Vienna allows us to meet another member of her family, who proves to be no help whatsoever. I found this book to be a delightful rainy day read to curl up with.
Chasing around after Prince Manfred has taken a toll on Mrs. Moore and Lottie. Now they are in Vienna, and things are not quite what they seemed. After dinner at the Palace and a piano concert, a guest is murdered. And it seems everyone but our ladies had a motive.
Poor Mrs. Moore - not what she expected. Thank goodness for Lottie and Rosie. They keep Mrs. Moore sane. A truly delightful adventure and, in my opinion, the best story in this wonderful series. Highly Recommended.
I’ve enjoyed this series because I love the different cities. The plot was really weak and not memorable; this was my least favorite of the series. I’ve just been to Vienna and love the setting, so 3 stars for that.
I read all five books back to back. They were fun, some plots not very surprising. Rosie was really adorable. I will probably pick another series by this author in the future.
Really enjoyed Lottie's latest escapades. Two murders and who is the real killer? So many have a reason to kill the first but the second murder makes no sense. Who will end up behind bars? You'll never guess, but Lottie figures it out as usual
