Torn: Love, Lies, Deceit

Rate this book
Angel was a young woman that had been in bad relationships since she was old enough to date; they were either verbally abusive or would just use her. Her last relationship ended after two years when she found out he had a wife and children in another city, and it left her with a lot of hurt and pain and caused her to fall into a depression that lasted a few years. When she was able to move past all that, she started getting her life together, so she relocated to another city to get away from her parents, who were both in the ministry and put a lot of pressure on her. She purchased a home in the wooded country area a few hours from where they lived so she could start fresh where no one knew her and didn't know what she had been through. She was determined to make it on her own, so she enrolled in school and got a great job and things were going great for her; she finally started living again. She met a great guy that showed her how it felt to be loved but ended up changing her life in ways she would have never imagined. Wayen was an older man from Alabama who relocated to Atlanta for his job. He did maintenance repair work for the same company that Angel worked for. He was a man that was upstanding in his community and well-respected. He had two sons, Javen and Anthony, who were in college and an ex-wife named Vanessa. It was when he met Angel that the secrets, lies, and deceit would emerge and cause the lives of the people he loved to be torn. He would have never imagined that because of his lies, someone would be fighting for their life

is Indonesia’s leading travel writer. In 2005, she started a travel blog at naked-traveler.com and in less than two years the blog was already nominated as Finalist in Indonesia’s Best Blog Award at Pesta Blogger. This led her to switch her corporate career to become full-time traveler and freelance travel writer.

Her debut book “The Naked Traveler” was a compilation of thoughtful but hilarious short stories from her adventure around the world. The book inspired many Indonesians, especially the youth, to travel – something that was rarely done at that time. Up to now, “The Naked Traveler” has been published in its third sequel and all are Indonesia’s best-selling travel book to date.

Together with Erastiany and illustrator Sheila Rooswitha, they created Indonesia’s first graphic travelogue “Duo Hippo Dinamis: Tersesat di Byzantium” (The Dynamic Hippos: Lost in Byzantium) about traveling misadventure of two fat girls in Turkey. She also contributed to anthology “The Journeys” along with 11 other writers.

Between dealing in her writing deadline, she still found time to become Editor in Chief of Venture travel magazine, regular contributor of Yahoo! Travel, contributor for various magazines, radio personality of Indika FM, social media entrepreneur, and speaker in creative writing/blogging/tourism events. In 2010, Trinity won “Indonesia Travel & Tourism Awards” as Indonesia Leading Travel Writer and dubbed as “Heroine for Indonesian tourism” by The Jakarta Post.

Trinity has Bachelor Degree in Communications from Universitas Diponegoro, Semarang, Indonesia, and awarded Asian Development Bank-Japan Scholarship to take up Master in Management in Asian Institute of Management, Manila, Philippines.

She has traveled to almost all provinces in Indonesia as well as 46 countries and counting. In any case, she thinks Indonesia is yet the best country ever.

Oh, Lord, please! I usually enjoy Trinity's books. Her Naked Traveler series is second to none and has aided me in traveling the globe.

This book, however, doesn't even compare quality wise. This is trash and I don't use that term loosely. This book is poorly written. It and its synopsis seems to have been written by a small children lacking vocabulary and education. I'm angry that I wasted money purchasing Trinity's other works, that a tree gave its life to make this book possible. I'll continue reading The Naked Traveler series.
