Dix Dodd Mystery #3

Death by Cuddle Club

Rate this book
Vindication is Dix's when her nemesis Detective Richard Head (aka Dickhead) shows up at her door, asking for her help on a delicate matter. Delicate because he can't turn to his own PD without admitting he's a member of a newly opened Cuddle Club. There have been a couple of deaths of Club members, ostensibly of natural causes, but Detective Head wants to take a closer look. The task for Dix? Infiltrate the Cuddle Club, ferret out the truth, and report back to Dickhead. Simple. Well, except for the fact that Dix is about as cuddly as a porcupine. Good thing for her that her assistant, the handsome, much younger and infinitely more cuddle-friendly Dylan Foreman, is eager to go under the covers...er...under cover with her. Head was right, all is not as it seems at the club. As Dix has always maintained, cuddling can be dangerous to your health. In fact, it can be downright deadly.

I loved this book! Death by Cuddle Club dips deeper in Dix Dodd's domain. (say that five times) and reveals more of her personality. I love her. She's a little neurotic, tough as an army boot, and yet vulnerable.
Dix is asked by her nemesis, Richard Head, to investigate a series of seemingly benign deaths in of all things, a Cuddle Club. Hands Off Dix squirms under the cuddle club blankie as she realizes that Richard is right. Something is off at the club. Adding to her chagrin is Dylan, her apprentice, who obviously loves to make Dix squirm, when he takes full advantage of the 'undercover' investigation.
We see Dix making some pretty important decisions in her life, and just as needed, delving into a series of murders. We can't help but root for her. And I can't wait for the next book. Go, Dix!

Love Dix and her quirky ways. Didn't like that they had to take the name of God in vain a few times. Love how she always gets it wrong the 1st time. Funny and great PI work.

The murderer is Ruth-Ann a retired ethicist instructor from a hospital. She managed to find her way into drugs that were discarded because of side effects, and poisoned the smoothy of two people. One was an accident and the other person she didn't like and intended to kill.

Dix and Dylan get together.

Laughably Funny!

I really enjoyed this Dix Dodd mystery. I don't think I have ever laughed so much while reading a book before. Did and her apprentice, Dylan Foreman, are hired to look into the goings on in a Cuddle Club. People are dropping dead of heart attacks and they need to find out if they are being murdered. If you are needing to release some stress in your life, read this laugh-a-minute book!

#3 in the Dix Dodd Mystery series.
This was waaay tooo long to tell a simple story, so a lot of meaningless #$%^ was added to fill the book.
But since I read 1 and 2, I'm sure I'll read #4 also.
