“Family, of all people, should have your back.”

Come to Jeopardy Falls, a small ranching, lately turned tourist town of five hundred, and receive a warm welcome to Second Chances Ranch. The MacLeod family will be sure to treat you to an adventurous read and show you the lengths they’ll go to to protect themselves and others.

Brothers, Christian O’Brady and Deckard MacLeod, are owners of a private investigation firm, MacLeod Investigation and Security, Inc. While Deckard provides the investigative skills, his brother provides the security system analysis. The tension increases as the brothers are called in to investigate a friend’s art gallery which has been looted. As the suspects are identified, notes in the form of old poker riddles start appearing on the investigative team vehicles. Before long, it’s not just commercial security at risk - the team’s personal security is in danger. Who are these thieves? Why are they targeting the MacLeods?

Miranda ‘Andi’ Forester, a former FBI agent, now insurance investigator with Ambrose Global arrives in Jeopardy Falls on assignment. Her past ‘mistake’ now haunts her and she believes it’s connected to her newest case. When she invites her former colleague, Harper Grace, a forensic botanist with the Albuquerque crime lab, to clear her name and help with Andi’s current art gallery heist investigation, the two learn to work alongside the MacLeod brothers to solve the case.

Although it took me a while to get all the characters straight, I really enjoyed this story. It was a great mixture of adventure, romance, and faith. I appreciated the clean read and have added this new-to-me author to my auto-read list. Pettrey’s ability to engage her readers, provide unpredictable twists, and write simmering romantic tension is fantastic. Her characters are wonderful, the mystery is compelling, and the multiple POVs absolutely add to the enjoyment of this suspense story. This is a wonderful start to the Jeopardy Falls series and I can’t wait to read more about the MacLeod family.

I was gifted this copy by Bethany House and NetGalley and was under no obligation to provide a review.

Yay, 4 stars!

I really enjoyed this! We follow an art heist that turned deadly and the PI and Insurance Investigator assigned to the crimes. Christian and Andi. Ugh I loved them.

Christian was such a solid rock of a man and I immediately liked him as a character. When he meets Andi, his kindness and compassion towards her was so endearing. He is definitely added to my favourite heroes list.

I found Andi relatable and sweet. She was a great partner for Christian and I just swooned over their romance!

The mystery was good but definitely did not stand out compared to the romance for me.
Art heists don't interest me, but watching Christian and Andi spend time together trying to solve them, was still fun. I also loved the setting of the farm! Christian and his siblings have some acreage with 2 homes on it and I liked whenever they spent time there.

The siblings were great as well! I can see we'll have 2 other couples to follow in the next books and I will definitely be reading them. We got quite a bit a scenes in their perspectives enough to pick up on that romance brewing and their individual personalities. I really like what I saw there.

Again, the romance made me swoon and it totally won the book for me. If not for the bit a uninteresting art heist talk, I would have given this 5 stars.

Oh, one last thing: we also got chapters in the bad guys' perspectives and that brought the suspense factor way up! I liked it.

Definitely recommend this and I am so happy to like another book by Dani Pettrey!

I was given a free copy of this book by the publisher in exchange for an honest review.

One Wrong Move completely sucked me in! It has all the makings of a great romantic suspense: intriguing/cutthroat criminals, riddles, art gallery heists, endearing yet complex characters, edge of your seat suspense, sizzling but clean romance, and a touch of faith. I was completely invested in the romances, figuring out the mysteries, and seeing the bad guys get their dues.

Miranda “Andi” Forester was a talented FBI forensic analyst until an allegation of mishandling evidence destroyed her career. She insists she’s innocent, but with no evidence to back up her claims, she was forced to leave and become an insurance fraud investigator. Her latest case involves an art theft at a pricey gallery in New Mexico. While investigating, she meets Christian O’Brady, a security expert who designed the security system for the gallery. Is he responsible for the thefts, or is there someone out to entrap him? Then there are the mysterious riddles Andi begins receiving.

It’s a race against time as more galleries are robbed and their lives are constantly threatened as Andi’s past and her current investigation collide. With her growing feelings and attraction to Christian, can she trust him despite his sordid past? Will they survive whoever is out to get them?

Along with Andi and Christian are Christian’s brother, private investigator Deckard MacLeod, and Andi’s best friend Harper, who’s a forensic botanist. These two are assisting in investigating the art theft as well as the past allegations against Andi. Just like Andi and Christian, Deckard & Harper have a spark between them, but Deckard’s troubled past and Harper’s upcoming overseas mission seem to make a relationship between them impossible. As they all work to uncover the truth, they must rely on each other to survive.

I literally read this book in a day! It was so hard to put down. There’s a whole slew of characters to keep track of, but I found as the story progressed, it became easier to distinguish between them. I loved how both romances developed. While Christian’s and Andi’s relationship was the main focus, I can’t wait to see what’ll happen between Deck & Harper.

The suspense was intense with one action filled sequence after another. There are several bad guys and I enjoyed trying to figure out who did what and put all the puzzle pieces together. I loved the MacLeod ranch and meeting Riley and Greyson. I also enjoyed the bits of humor and faith interspersed between all the action.

Definitely a must read that’s impossible to put down! Highly recommend to Christian romantic suspense fans. Looking forward to the next book in the series. I received an advanced complimentary copy from the publisher. All opinions are my own and voluntarily provided.

This book was action-packed and actually had me spooked waiting to see what happened next. I loved the faith element to it and seeing how that played out in the characters' day-to-day life. I did find keeping up with all the romantic threads was a little much considering how many characters were in the story. But overall another great Dani Pettrey mystery and I'm looking forward to the next book in the series!

Content Note:
- there are some gruesome details regarding murder and violence
- it's a little heavy on the romance (especially since there were 2 threads with a strong hint at a third)

One Wrong Move was a fast-paced thriller, and I loved the wild ride! Especially after having just finished reading another thriller that was less than thrilling, this was a great change of pace! The author did a great job of balancing out dialogue and action and making it feel seamless. If you enjoy thrillers that have Christian themes, clean romance, and plot twists, then One Wrong Move might be right up your alley :)

Thank you to NetGalley and the author for an eARC of One Wrong Move. A positive review was not required, only my honest opinion. All thoughts are expressly my own.

I thoroughly enjoyed One Wrong Move from start to finish. It was a great introduction to the new Jeopardy Falls series, with a likeable cast of characters that the reader gets to know well in this novel.

I was happily surprised that there were actually two cases that needed solving in the story. The main plot followed Andi and Christian as they worked to uncover who was behind a string of art gallery heists. Investigations, dangerous attacks on their lives, and a captivating southwest setting made for an intriguing story. Throughout it all, the author wove in a believable romance that developed between Christian and Andi which was packed with many swoony moments.

The side plot involved the possible clearing of Andi’s name and an investigation into who could have framed her and cost her the career that she was forced to leave in the FBI. It was great to see Christian’s brother, Deckard, work with Andi’s friend, Harper, to dig into the events that so changed Andi’s life.

The author always does a great job of weaving in beautiful moments that show the characters’ reliance on God and this book remained true to that, as well. I’m excited to read the future books that will come out in this series. Christian and his siblings have interesting back stories and it will be fun to see them find their own happily ever afters.

I received a complimentary copy of this book. All opinions are my own.

This was an excellent read. I finished it one day.
Great characters and a fantabulous plot. I was invested from page one.
I love that this book has love, faith and keeps you in suspense throughout the whole novel.
The faith part is my favorite part of the story. I liked how each character turned to God for help.
I thought Andi was done wrong. But then I guess there'd be no story. It was all done very well and I liked the fast action too.
Lots of twists and turns that will keep u guessing. I figured it out from the get go but I still wanted to finish it.
This story had a satisfying ending that left my heart feeling full and happy.
This author always does. When you get one of her books you know you're getting a treat.
Christian was my favorite character. I liked that he believed Andi right off the bat and did his best for her. That's all I'm going to say.
I just wanted to mention that I didn't like Tad much. He made want to scream sometimes with his sneakiness. Ugh!
I also liked the cover. It makes you ask yourself what's really going on in this story. Very well written. I loved every minute of it.
5 stars! Wish I could give it more.
My thanks to Netgalley and Bethany House for a copy of this book. I was NOT required to write a positive review. All opinions expressed are my own.

I very quickly got invested in the story and was drawn to the characters of Andi and Christian. They meet when both start working a case of a gallery break-in. The attraction between them is obvious but they are focused on the case. While on the case they experience a few close calls that had me holding my breath at times. They get help from Christian's siblings and his agency. I loved the group interaction and learning about the siblings past. Story also switches pov from the two mains to Deckard and Haley and the villain. Each pov allowed me to feel more connected to the characters. In addition to trying to solve the case and stop the thieves the book is a romance and I was here for it. I didn't want to say bye to these characters and can't wait for book 2 to spend more time with all of them.

One of the things I always love so much about Dani Pettrey’s books is the team/family bond that her characters have. Whether it’s the McKennas from her Alaskan Courage series or the law enforcement friends in the Chesapeake Valor books or the CGIS team in the Coastal Guardians series, her characters have each other’s backs and have fun together, even in the midst of stressful situations. This never fails to put a smile on my face AND keep me coming back for more time with these friends/family/teams that I quickly grow to love.

Now Pettrey has introduced us to the Jeopardy Falls crew of private investigators & security specialists (made up of the Macleod siblings and a close family friend), and I can already tell that these characters will be another strong team who isn’t afraid to joke around but takes their jobs – and their relationships – very seriously. I loved the dynamics between brothers Christian & Deck as well as their kid sister Riley and their mentor Greyson (who seems to be harboring some secret feelings for Riley – oh the romantic possibilities!!!). Christian’s kindness to Andi, his belief in her innocence, and his brokenness over past mistakes endeared him to me right away. The addition of former FBI analyst-turned-insurance-investigator Andi and her best friend Harper (still with FBI forensics) is a good one that synced well with the Macleod personalities and skill sets. Andi is a great character who has been dealt a bad hand, and I really enjoyed getting to know her and watching her & Christian fall for each other. I loved Harper too (though I think Riley will end up being my favorite female of the bunch… a close call though), and I’m all a’swoon with the sparks between Harper and Deck that promise to develop into more in a future book.

On the surface, One Wrong Move seems to be about a cleverly-orchestrated art heist. And it is. But it’s also so much more than that. Their investigation is layered and multi-dimensional and it takes them down paths and to suspects that I wasn’t initially expecting. What began with art heists escalates to something even more dangerous as Christian & Andi follow their suspicions & leads around New Mexico. Along with the immediate case demanding Christian & Andi’s attention, Deck and Harper also have their own separate pursuit involving the case that ended Andi’s FBI career. I was solidly invested in both investigations, eagerly turning the pages as my mind whirred with suspects and clues, my heart staying near my throat as these characters I immediately loved had to dodge bullets and threats and other pulse-racing attempts on their lives.

Bottom Line: Swoony romance. High-stakes suspense. Compelling characters. Dani Pettrey’s newest novel One Wrong Move has all the right moves when it comes to an engaging story that keeps you on the edge of your seat. Meaningful explorations of redemption and forgiveness occur naturally within the plot, adding to the character layers without feeling forced or distracting from the story. I was already excited about this series but reading One Wrong Move made me even more eager for the books to come – I can’t wait to catch up with the characters again and see what else Pettrey has up her sleeve for them to investigate.

Holy cow!! This took off like a shot and didn't slow down. Hands down the craziest, most immersive, and high stakes suspense I've read. My head was spinning from page one, and I was immediately dying to know what the heck was going on. The POVs in the bad guys' perspectives was super icky and disturbing, which took me a bit to get used to, but overall, really added to the suspense. The two different, yet related, mysteries with the two different partners also took me a bit to keep up with and get my head around, but also took the action and suspense to the next level. Both romances were sweet and I really enjoyed how the author made Christian and Andi's relationship so redemptive, and how Deckard and Harper's relationship was well established for the continuation of the series. There was also a lot of great found family and friends in this with themes of forgiveness and strong prayers from the characters all set on a picturesque Southwestern ranch with smalltown/rodeo/cowboy vibes. I mean, seriously, could this book get any better?! I'm super excited to continue this series as the next books release and to read more about the other characters.
This book was just what I needed after the slump from my last read with strong Christian faith and a homey, yet action packed setting! My June reading month is looking up! 😸😸😸

4.5⭐This book is full of suspenseful action scenes with twists that will keep you guessing. A total mixture of adventure, mystery, faith, and romance. It is Beautifully written.

Christian was born into a family of con artists who led him into a life of crime at a young age. However, he has since turned over a new leaf and become one of the leading security experts in the country. When a series of art heists occur at a gallery that Christian had previously secured, he teams up with Andi Forester, an FBI forensic analyst. Unfortunately, one of Andi's colleagues has ruined her reputation by accusing her of mishandling evidence, putting a halt to her career. Christian and Andi must work together to catch the perpetrator, but the thief is not finished playing his game. They are running out of time to catch him.

I really enjoyed reading the story. The characters were likable and the dialogue was witty and clean. The romance between Christian and Andi was swoon-worthy and I appreciated the action and fast-paced in the story. Although I prefer romance over suspense, I found the overall story to be engaging. Christian was the perfect hero, strong and kind, and exactly what Andi needed after the betrayal from her ex.

Wowza, Dani Pettrey has penned another winner that is chock full of adrenaline-pumping suspense, toe-curling romance, and a soul-stirring faith story!
I absolutely loved Andi and Christian, they are such a great couple and it is a joy to watch them fall in love!
This author does an incredible of crafting settings that become a character in the story. Whenever I read a Dani Pettrey book I feel like I’ve gone on vacation to the setting because it is written so vividly, and this book is no exception! I love a small town setting and Jeopardy Falls has quickly become a favorite!
The redemption story in One Wrong Move is absolutely beautiful and just might make you tear up! Dani Pettrey’s books are a master class in how to write realistic faith woven organically into the storyline, so so good!
This author’s books are fast-paced and I’m always perched at the edge of my seat while I fly through the pages, but conversely there is also a relaxing quality to her books that makes me like I’m chilling in a hammock or some other comfy spot, and these are only two of a billion reasons why I love her books so much!
Sibling series are my absolute fave! I’m already obsessed with the MacLeod family, and cannot wait for book 2!
I’ve read everything this author has published and One Wrong Move is one of my favorites by her! I wish I could rate it higher than five stars!
I seriously absolutely adored every second I spent reading this book and most highly recommend it. If you only read one romantic suspense book this year, read this one, you won’t regret it!

Title: One Wrong Move (Jeopardy Falls Book #1)
Author: Dani Pettrey
Rating: ★★★★★

Dani Pettrey's "One Wrong Move" is a gripping addition to the Christian romantic suspense genre, reminiscent of the compelling family dynamics that first drew me to her Alaskan Courage series. In this novel, the intricate relationships between Christian O'Brady, his sister Riley, and his brother Deckard are masterfully portrayed, echoing the beloved familial bonds that Pettrey is known for.

The dual narrative of the art theft case and the re-investigation of the FBI fiasco that ended Andi's career is well executed. This parallel plot structure kept me thoroughly engaged, as I eagerly followed the twists and turns of each storyline. Pettrey's rich and vivid descriptions of Arizona not only bring the setting to life but also add a sense of wanderlust, making me long to explore the Southwest.

Deckard's choice to give Andi the benefit of the doubt is a highlight of the story, reflecting the themes of forgiveness and trust that are central to the novel. These Christian themes, particularly the emphasis on being a new creation in Christ and entrusting our futures to God, are woven seamlessly into the narrative, enriching the story without overwhelming it.

For those who enjoy the works of Elizabeth Goddard, Lisa Harris, and Patricia Bradley, "One Wrong Move" is a standout choice. Pettrey has once again delivered a story that is not just a thrilling ride but also a moving exploration of faith, redemption, and the unbreakable bonds of family.

I received this book from the publisher through the NetGalley review program. I was not required to write a positive review. The opinions I have expressed are my own. Wow, what a great romantic suspense by Dani Pettrey. I loved her Alaskan Courage series, but I hadn't read anything by her since then, which was about three years ago . When I saw One Wrong Move on the "new inspirational fiction" shelf at my small rural library, I had to grab it up. I actually have other books I should be reading, but once I opened it to check it out, I could NOT put it down. I love when a book grabs me from page one and just keeps going.
This is a story about second chances. We see the story from multiple points of view, both the good guys and the bad guys.
Christian O'Brady is a former con-artist/thief, raised that way by his parents, and he continued his life of crime until turning his life around thanks to Jesus. He's now involved in installing security systems and finds himself called in to figure out how the crooks in a current string of heists has gotten past his security in art galleries. Of course, he himself is a suspect because of installing the security systems, and because of his background.
He teams up with Andi Forester, an insurance investigator who used to be with the FBI, but she was accused of royally botching some evidence.
They join with Christian's siblings Deckard and Riley, Andi’s best friend Harper, and Greyson who used to own the P.I. business, to not only track down these art thieves, but also to clear Andi’s name.
Had to wonder throughout the book whether the two cases were connected or not.
There was great suspense, and there were twists and our protagonists were in peril multiple times. The author knows how to get her readers on the edge of their seats and get the blood pumping, that's for sure. I love how the story unfolded and how everything came together. And I loved seeing Christian and Andi's relationship evolve. Plus there were a couple other maybe-relationships brewing. Knowing this was the first book of a series makes me hope we'll see more of these same main characters and get to see relationships grow. This is a wonderful book and one I highly recommend. And now I need to get my hands on more of her books.

This is my first full story I've read of Pettrey's and it's clear from her back catalogue and the reviews for this book, she has a strong reader following.

There's much to like about this story:

1. The pace is good which is important in such a novel,
2. The main characters are well developed. I really liked Christian and Andi, Deckard and Harper, Riley and Greyson. Greyson, in particular is a clever attention to this genre.
3. The strong faith emphasis. I enjoy reading prayers that are spoken (verbally and within the mind). I think we should see more of it in Christian fiction because it should be pivotal to the way Christians live.
4. The Christian characters lived out their faith in many respects.
5. The romance was strong, perhaps too much so and enjoyable to read. The Christian/Andi chemistry is tremendous and Pettrey does a great job demonstrating that to us.
6. The suspense kept us on our toes, our dynamic couples were always looking over their shoulders, so to speak and rarely felt safe through the story.

And then there were some areas that I struggled, primarily around the dual plot lines of investigation. There were just a few things that I found a little unbelievable which took away from the authenticity of the story. These were:

1. The antagonists were too innocuous most of the time. They popped up so rarely that when they did it distracted me to take me out of the story. It was also hard knowing who was who and whom was calling the shots. We mostly heard from Cyrus who had one agenda, while Casey had another and Theresa had another.

2. I got confused why a PI (Christian) was leading a national search for a bunch of killers, arsonists and art thieves. Surely the FBI and/or police would be leading it and maybe using a PI to assist? It just didn't really make sense to me. The big final scene has the PI team going into a terribly dangerous situation when this would surely be led by the FBI or SWAT.

3. We keep reading of Ethan acting out vengeance upon Christian but where is Ethan? We discover about 80% of the way through that he's using a pseudonym. But Cyrus seemed to be the one driving the bad guys agenda. It just didn't connect for me.

4. The danger and risk in many situations often lost its sizzle because Christian and Andi kept being distracted by their attraction to each other. I just don't think that would happen in a really tense situation when you might die. I found it distracting and took away from the suspense.

I enjoyed reading the story. It was fun. I liked the characters, especially the 3 siblings: Christian, Deck and Riley. And clearly my thoughts are an exception to most of the other reviewers. It also won't stop me reading another Pettrey story. I'm guessing the next stories in the series will feature Riley and Greyson as leads perhaps. I hope so as they're a fascinating duo and less predictable than the other two couples.

I received an early ebook copy from Bethany House via Net Galley with no expectation of a favourable review.

One Wrong Move by Dani Pettrey did not disappoint. Dani has been one of my favorite authors ever since I met her at a book conference almost 10 years ago. And One Wrong Move is just another reason she is a must read author. We have the main story line of the art heists that Christian and Andi are working. We have a secondary story of did Andi get framed while working in the FBI. And Christian’s brother, Deckard’s involvement in her work problem. Dani is such a talented author that you don't feel cheated by having two storylines going at once. You feel like you got a bonus story.
The series is going to revolve around Christian and his siblings. They are a very unique and talented group and a lot of that is based on their childhood. I am anxiously awaiting the next stories in the series. Definitely a must read.

Taunting riddles.
A deadly string of heists.
Two broken hearts trapped in a killer's game.

Dani Pettrey delivers a thrilling, mind-bending new release set in the deserts of New Mexico that captivated me from the very beginning. With immediate, intense action scenes and the taunting threat of danger lurking around every corner, readers will find themselves devouring the pages!

I enjoyed the premise and plot built around precious artifact heists. It was new, exciting and presented in a high-stakes way that kept me invested in this story. The many twists, turns and surprises kept me guessing and intrigued.

Both Christian and Andi are fantastic main characters with broken pasts that they have overcome, making them relatable and enjoyable. Like her previous books, Pettrey has built a team of friends and family around them with unique specialties that each lend a unique quality to this story. I love how down-to-earth the characters were and the romances blossoming in this story were perfectly swoon-worthy with several great scenes!

Overall, this was an exciting read that offered a unique POV into the world of heists and FBI evidence logging. If you love stories with suspense, romance, a strong faith thread and daring, capable characters, you'll love this novel!

Reading a novel by Dani Pettrey is like this:

Imagine you've purchased a thousand piece puzzle, and it's a complicated one. You open the box and begin, slowly making progress until you have a gorgeous, complete picture that takes your breath away.

That, my friend, is what it's like to devour a book by Pettrey.

She is a master puzzle builder, taking the tiniest bits and patiently crafting until the end, and it literally took my breath away.

Because I was holding it in as I raced through the final chapters!

The beginning seemed a little slow, but I enjoyed meeting the new characters in Jeopardy Falls (don't you just love that name!), and watching the story take shape.

One other thing I struggled with was names. The two main bad guys both started with C and were very similar, so I kept having to go back and check who was who.

In spite of those two concerns, that ending blew my mind, hence the five stars. So take your time, enjoy the view, and buckle up for a mind boggling conclusion you will not see coming!

My thanks to the publisher for my advance copy. My review has not been solicited, and my opinion is true and honest.

3.5 stars Dani Petry’s One Wrong Move has a strong suspense plot, which I enjoyed. I especially like a heist story, so this book was a great fit in that regard. There is also a definite faith element woven throughout, which worked. For me, the romance plotline was too heavy, but for those who enjoy a hefty dose of romance to their suspense books, it will likely satisfy. I did find it a little hectic with many characters to keep track of: 3 siblings and their 3 sidekicks, as well as the villains. Overall, a good start to a new series!

Thanks go to NetGalley and the publisher for the opportunity to read an advance copy of this book in exchange for my honest review. All opinions are my own.

Another book club read. Subpar.

Also the amount that the author used the word "said" almost caused me to add it to my DNF list.

I judge my books on whether they're classics, could be classics or even if I would read them again. This book was on a galaxy far, far away from any of those categories.

My husband and I listened to this heart-pounding romantic suspense. It had all the things we love in a book. It had wonderful characters, nail-biting suspense, thrills, and a swoony romance. We look forward to the next installment.

I’ve been a fan of Dani Pettrey from the first book of hers I read! I’ve always appreciated not only the heart-pounding thrillers she writes, but that her books are clean and include an element of faith and personal beliefs!

This book dives right into the suspense when several art galleries (owned by the same man) are robbed simultaneously, and Christian O’Brady is immediately on scene since he was the man who installed each of the security systems! Christian soon pairs up with Andi Forester and together they face one challenge after another trying to not only solve the case but clear their names!

It becomes very obvious very quickly that someone wants this duo off the case, and together they navigate the dangerous waters of revenge and deception!

Pettrey keeps the tension cranked up, making it impossible to put the book down. With its blend of suspense, intricate plot twists, and well-drawn characters, One Wrong Move is a gripping read that will keep you hooked until the very end.

I never hesitate to recommend a book by Dani Pettrey, unless the reader is not willing to lose a few hours of sleep. Once I start reading any book by Dani, it is nearly impossible to put down.
Christian O’Brady, a PI, and Andi, Forester, an insurance investigator, formally, FBI, both arrive at an art gallery to investigate a heist. The owner, insured for ten million dollars, owns three galleys and they all take a hit. Each has an expensive collection; two of art and jewels and the third, nearly priceless wine. The losses far exceed the amount of insurance coverage.
Christian, with a checkered past himself, spent time as a teen in juvie, however, contributes the changes in his life to his faith and trust in God. He and his siblings are in business together, with his specialty of providing top of the line security systems, as well as his status as a PI.
Andi lost her job in the FBI because of false accusations, that, at the time, were impossible to refute. As Andi and Christian team up to catch the perpetrators of the heists, several murders are also connected to the crimes. Christian brings his sibling business partners into the investigation. What a shock when Andi discovers Deckard, Christian’s brother is the very one who supported the false accusations against her, causing her to lose her job with the FBI.
Many twists and turns take the reader on a wild ride to unexpected places and unforeseen circumstances. Intriguing characters and clues even lead them across the country. When additional details emerge, Dekard teams up with Andi’s best friend, Harper, to disprove his earlier assessment of any wrongdoing by Andi.
From the first page of this gripping, captivating story, I could not turn the pages fast enough. After the last page was turned, continued to think of this riveting story.
I received a complimentary copy of this book. All opinions and comments are my own.

Words I would use to describe this book:

1. Slow
2. Clean
3. Cliche (in plot, predictability, and characterization)

The whole time reading One Wrong Move, I was thinking, "you know, I would've enjoyed this a lot more if it were a movie."

Yeah, I'm okay with cliche movies but NOT books. It took me two weeks to slog through (I usually go through a good book in 1-3 days). Effectively puts you to sleep if you read it right before bed, which was what I did.

I really enjoyed this first book in the Jeopardy Falls series. Three adults siblings--Christian, Deckard and their sister Riley--were raised in Las Vegas by neglectful con-artist parents. They were taught all the 'tricks of the trade' and had to take part in their parents cons. Now they have formed a Private Investigation service so they can use their 'talents' for good in catching criminals and seeking justice.

This first book focuses on Christian. He's called to investigate the theft of priceless indigenous artefacts from an art gallery. There he meets the beautiful Andi, an insurance investigator specialising in art. However, she has her own demons. She lost her job and reputation as an FBI forensics expert, when she was framed for contaminating and destroying evidence in a murder case. Things are further complicated by the fact that Deckard worked on the same case as Andi, and he was able to help free the suspected murderer, who he believed was innocent. Could Deck have been wrong all this time? And can Christian and Andi learn to trust each other and move forward with their growing attraction?

I really liked the premise of this series, and there were lots of twists and turns in the art gallery case, as well as the re-opening of Andi's FBI case. The main protagonists are likeable, but have complex backgrounds and issues to work through, including issues of faith and trust. Other secondary characters are introduced who you know will continue in the rest of the series. The suspense and romance were well done. As soon as I finished, I bought the next book in the series.

Recommended for lovers of Christian romantic suspense.
