Tabea Widmann dedicates this work to digital games as media of remembrance around the Holocaust and examines them as particularly potentially powerful media of digitalised memory cultures. Within the book, the concept of "Prosthetic Witnessing" is developed; an approach that understands playful actions as mediated positions of a medialised-distanced, yet emotionally involving, form of witnessing. Based on four selected case studies, "Prosthetic Witnessing" already finds its first applications in the work with a focus on figures of testimony, the staging of places of remembrance as well as the handling of depicted media of memory.
