If I had read this book a decade ago, I think I would’ve given it five stars and agreed with absolutely everything Robert says. Now that I’m a little more mature in my faith and have lived through some harder seasons, there were points in it that I found myself disagreeing with him. Overall though, I found it to be a very worthwhile read. He shared a couple of things - a huge one being the fact that Joseph’s dream was not the same thing as his Destiny (his family, bowing down to him versus saving a country from famine) - that I’ve never thought of before and really shifted my viewpoint on the story of my own life. I don’t think it’s one I would recommend to everybody, but if you feel drawn to it, you should definitely pick it up.

Pastor Robert distills his sermon series on the life of Joseph into this highly readable, densely packed book full of practical insights for anyone looking for a blueprint of the tests the Lord often leads us through on the path to fulfilling the destiny to which He has called us. The series was great and the book is at least as good.

This book is a word of encouragement to those Christians who have been discourage or given up on our dreams. God wants us to fulfill the dreams and destinies that He has for us. But we must be humble, and obedient to His will if we are to fulfill our destinies.
