This is a spectacular resource in a series for new authors! Wow, wish I had this when I published my first book, but I still learned so much. It’s picked with so many useful marketing nuggets from a variety of experienced authors that are easy to implement. It definitely takes away the overwhelmed feeling and instills confidence with an actionable plan to get out there and sell lots of books. Go for it!
Writing a book is—believe it or not—the easy part. Deciding how to publish, landing an agent and a publisher is not so easy. Marketing your published book is like pushing a 500-pound rock uphill every single day.
Launch Pad: The Countdown to Marketing Your Book is the book you want to move you from your very first steps, branding, website, email lists, newsletter, and promoting yourself (this book will make you feel so much better about standing up and saying: Look at ME! Look at MY BOOK!) because, yes, you will need to do that. This book will tell you how.
Even better is the structure, with a recap of all the pertinent information at the end of each chapter.
I highly recommend this book whether you are a debut author or have several books under your belt.
If you’ve written and published a book, you need a marketing plan no matter your publishing route. I’m in that category and found this book full of terrific ideas for developing a marketing plan as well as planning my upcoming book launch. Led by author, author marketing coach, Mary Helen Sheriff, and Grace Sammon, author, educator, and radio host, each chapter is authored by a different author. Very helpful!
This is a book filled with sage and actionable advice. I took notes as I read it. I'm the author of four novels and have been marketing my books for the past six years, and still there was lots to learn from the book. Each chapter is written by an author. And like the earlier books in the series, this one is great. -- Karen E. Osborne, author of Reckonings and True Grace
