Eric Rothman was the CEO of his company. Natasha Barrington had been his PA for almost a year. She'd watched him and the never ending procession of girlfriends who came and went regularily since Eric was famous for his fear of commitment. Secretly she wanted him, but she knew he'd never want her. He'd never shown any interest in her after all. Then one day he surprised her with a proposal. One week with him, in a hotel, just sex, nothing more. Should she accept knowing what he was like? Eric was everything Natasha wanted, gorgeous, sexy and he was offering her sex. Would it be enough for her or would she leave him at the end of the week with a broken heart and possibly no job and no future? Could Natasha finally be the woman to cure Eric of his commitment phobea? Was it worth her taking that chance? The sex was amazing, intense. Their desire for each other insatiable, but would one week be enough for both of them and would Natasha be left with regrets? Life has a habit of throwing you in at the deep end. Sometimes in life you just have to give up with safe and sensible and throw caution to the wind, go with your gut instinct and do something that you might not normally do.............
From my teenage years, all I wanted to do was become a writer one day. Even now as an adult woman with three children who are not so little anymore, I've always lived with my head in the clouds, a dreamer, often amusing myself with my own imagination. It might have taken me awhile to finally live my dream, but I did it. I hope to one day be good enough to stand beside the many talented writers out there who have kept me entertained with their wonderful stories over the years. I live in a sleepy country town in Tasmania, Australia with my three children, my little dog who thinks he’s a Dobermann. I've had to overcome many emotional obstacles along the way to get to this point and attempting to self-publish a book does tend to make a person feel like they've thrown themselves in at the deep end of the pool. Here's hoping some of you actually like what I write and save me from drowning in the deep end as I probably forgot to mention, I can't swim. J. A Melville.
3.5*** I really started loving this book at 50% ..It's a very big book. It took my days to read it. Natasha was very innocent and naive when she started her journey with Eric. She made choices throughout this book that really irritated me but she always had her way of justifying it somehow. Eric was a hot head but was very possessive and didn't know how to show it sometimes without coming off as a big jerk. Once they got their crap together their love was so strong and I was flipping through the pages and couldn't get enough. Why didn't I love the first 50%....I love romance with some erotic content I don't do straight erotica...the first 50% was straight sex. That's a lot of sex for 444 pages in a book and we are talking about the first 1/2. I believe this author did a fine job on her first book and I really look forward to Eric's POV which should explain a lot and to any future books because I think if the 2nd half is a preview at the romance she can write we are in for a great treat. :) After a very erotic 1st half of a very big book this story blossomed and ended up being a very passionate emotional journey. Wonderful surprises and twists. I couldn't put the 2nd half down and flipped through the pages wanting to know what was going to happen to this awesome couple.
Thoroughly enjoyed reading Natasha's Awakening. Page after page of hot steamy sex with a love story that had me hooked from the start. I love both Eric and Natasha and cant wait to get stuck in to Taming Eric, his POV to learn more about him too. Congratulations to you on your amazing debut novel and I look forward to reading all of your future works.
If its a hot book, packed with lots and lots of sex that your after then I strongly recommend you buy this
I absolutely LOVED this book, I only hated that it took me so long to read it, which had nothing to do with the book, just my busy life. I absolutely loved the characters, the development, the writing. It is hard to believe this is a 1st book for the author, I think she did an AMAZING job! I love Eric, can't wait for more, though this is definitely a stand alone book
I read this one while it was being written and loved it from the beginning. It is an awesome story and it is well written. Love Eric & Natasha and all they go through to try and be together with a lot of twist and turns. So check it out and enjoy it for yourself. Now I can relax and read it all at once. Love ya J. A. Melville. Waiting on your next one!
This book was fantastic and yes it is a long read but if you think about it; at least you are not left waiting for answers for a book 2. There is lots of sex and drama to the point the author captures you and you don't want to stop reading. Really enjoyed the hell out of this one.
A definite must read. I absolutely love Natasha and Eric. I couldn't put down my kindle. Jacqui you're a brilliant writer and can't wait for your next story.
This book could have been so much better but the first 1/2 of the book was nothing but sex, which isn't a bad thing if it's written correctly, but every sex scene was the same, no excitement in it. Finally after getting midway there was finally the start of a story but there was a lot of repetition in the story, especially every time she "wondered if it would always be this way".....if that phrase wasn't used 50 times it wasn't used once!!
This story told from Natasha's POV is entertaining and exciting. The author does an excellent job in creating two dynamic personalities, each with their own fears and insecurities along with situations that move the story along with realism. My favorite scene was the unraveling of Eric's control during the birth of his first child. The suspense, tension and even some humor of the moment was amazing. Watching these two very human people find happiness in each other despite their past demons has been an enjoyable and interesting reading adventure. Five Stars.

This is the second book from this author that I have read and she still doesn't disappoint. Natasha and Eric have a wonderful story to tell. A story of love and trust and forgiveness told from Natash's POV. There are lots of twists and turns - some good, some bad. The characters are well developed. There were times that I wasn't liking Eric very much because of his behavior but he always redeemed himself. There are some characters that are not very likable but most are wonderful. The scenery descriptions were beautiful. It really made me want to visit Australia. There is no shortage of hot sex here. Holy moly is there hot sex. The story is a little lengthy (especially with all those hot sex scenes) but definitely worth the read. If you still want more after this one, The author's next work is Taming Eric which is the same story told from Eric's POV.

This book was intense, passionate and dark. Melville is a phenomenal storyteller who knows how to embrace and execute erotic fiction with perfection. I had never read any of her books before this one and now I want to read more.
*sigh* this book was SO darn long I dont know if I want to give it 2 or 3 stars so I'll go halfway... I didn't dislike the book, some of it was okay, the first half bothered me, as much as I like erotic romance, there is generally some romance, this was basically a naive woman having lots of sex with her boss, practically porn. (note: this book is over 1100PDF pages so half being porn is a LOT) after that, you see the cracks in the relationship, her stupid thoughts and decisions - although something in her head tells her that it's justifiable and he's possessive to the point of being a complete jackass. Luckily, they manage to get their crap sorted out. Side points: I do NOT like the cover, it's very paranormal-esque. I did however like the writing style throughout. I didn't pay too much attention to the editing but it was an easy read so I'll assume the editing was pretty good.
This novel is a debut but reading it you would think Jacqui has been writing for years. I thought this book was going to be your typical CEO bad boy meets P.A. But it honestly isn't, its nearly 600 pages of sheer awesomeness. I love Eric he's broody, hot and emotionless. Natasha is a good girl really, she doesnt do many things bad and you just want her to go out and have some fun. But as the story progresses you can feel the connection that the characters start to build between each other. This book is extremely erotic, it pulls at the heartstrings, other times you just think "bloody hell that cant happen like that". Then at times its "Jacqui what are you doing to me with this book". if you havent read this book all I can say is what the bloody hell are you waiting for.
This book caught my eye because I like the boss and assistant theme and I enjoyed from what I read because I only got into it halfway through as the beginning to the middle is just mostly sex but I did like how he got jealous when she only spoke to another man. I liked both characters but it seemed to me that they didn't really know each other personally and I thought she was a little too trusting as she was his PA for a year and saw women come and go and then all of a sudden he wanted her and if it wasn't for the pregnancy plotline he would have dropped her after the week of just sex and steered to the nearest blonde. it did get a bit exciting near the end especially when his ex turned up and I thought the h was a bit too gullible but it all ended well and I liked the epilogues.

The book starts off with intense steamy scenes and a whole lot of them. But as we progress into more of the story, we find out more about the main characters Natasha and Eric. It is a loooooong read, but it is very good. I will say I was getting a bit exhausted with all the sex, but once they got all that pent up sexual tension out, it is much easier to flip those pages quickly because of the way it is written.. The sex scenes are well written too!
I will say I was looking for a hot and steamy read and boy did I get my fill of it with this book!!! I can't wait to see what the author comes up with next and see Eric's side of the story, which is coming SOOOOON!!!
I would rate this book between a 2.5 and a 3. I think the story had potential but it wasn't executed to its fullest. Half the story was fluff and could have just been edited it out. I mean sex scenes are great and these were especially hot but with them just having one sex scene after the other made it boring. Sex scenes when used right and drive the story forward and help develop the character's growth. The sex in this story did not do that. I didn't really connect with the main characters. I think that they did not grow much throughout the story. The ending was cute and it was nice to have a happy ending but this book just did not evoke any deep emotion from me.
I feel this book was just too long. Whenever I've read a long book, it's been because it was building up to something significant in the story line. Didn't happen with this one. Never thought I'd say this but just too many sex scenes. The first half of the book is just one sex scene after another. We get a sense of Eric's difficult past, but it was just barely touched. I couldn't understand either how a young, successful couple didn't even have one friend. Overall, I just didn't connect with either Eric or Natasha.
Eric and Natasha will keep you guessing... bring your tissues because you will need them. This story has suspense, heartache and with both fighting for control, I knew I had to read it to find out who would win in the end. This is a first for me from this author and I can't wait to start taming Eric, his POV. I was given a copy of this book by the author in exchange for honest review. And my sister recommended it too.

Not only is this book erotic it had me crying in parts of the story. Jacqui has brought this book to life with plenty of heartfelt emotion. It's an amazing book. I'd recommend everybody reads this. Jacqui you're a truly amazing author and friend. I can't wait for your next book.
This was just ok for me. I'm not a prude but I tend to like a little more than back to back sex in my books. Plus the way everyone called Natasha baby all the time drove me nuts. Maybe it's an Australia thing.
This book was intense, passionate and dark. Melville is a phenomenal storyteller who knows how to embrace and execute erotic fiction with perfection. I had never read any of her books before this one and now I want to read more.
I really enjoyed reading Natasha's Awaking. It was a great book with s lot of hot and steamy sex. The seance where tasteful and intriguing. This book also had a very captivating plot. It should be a easy one click. Especially being on sale for only 99 cents!!!
