Similarly cute to the last book I read of hers. My biggest complaint was that it was very repetitious from the last book. I liked that Charlotte finally got over her clumsiness when she is around Logan. It was much needed. Definitely will keep reading the series.

With her last cupcake partnerships ending because of a murder, will third time be the charm or will she never get off this Ferris Wheel as her next proposition is another murder suspect. Maybe it is time she lives up to the name the Live Forever Club gave her, Charlotte the Brave and finally stand on her own two feet and be independent. Although endearing in the first book, it was starting to get tiresome having Charlotte be a bumbling idiot around Logan, so it was great to see her finally able to compose herself by the end of this edition so their relationship can develop.

Charlotte attracts murder like honey attracts flies. I enjoy her relationship with her best friend Marianne and her Aunt Winifred. I love the fun and the adventure they have finding out about the murder. I like the author's narrative. I think that this was really entertaining.
I received this as an arc from Booksprout and freely left this review.

Once again we are back to the cozy town of Sweetwater, where Miss Charlotte somehow keeps finding herself running into the towns local murder sites!

I love returning to this little world, there’s something so heart warming about the characters and their relationships. As I progressed through each of the books I’m definitely finding the story and writing improving ! Molly definitely is doing good work here !

This book was the shortest one so far, but definitely didn’t feel like anything was rushed . Pacing went well and all the points got across to us the reader.

I’m glad this time around I wasn’t able to figure out who the murderer was as quickly as before. Definitely enjoyed the suspense!

The little world building we get was great to see , even if it was just a few more shops and a town over. Personally I think it just adds to the little map I have in my head for this place .

Things I liked :-
>The glimpse of Charlottes , Mariannes and Fishers friendship. Found this so cute!
>I love the her baking/business arc. From the first book till now, watching this journey had been so enjoyable !
>Charlottes personal growth! From being so timid to truly embracing the phrase Charlotte the brave! Love this for her!
>We are finally getting out budding romance between Logan and Charlotte + Marianne and Carlos! This took forever!

Things I didn’t like :-
This time around there is just one thing :-)
>That Charlotte was still such a clutz with Logan

This is a 3.5 from me!

I got the 2nd book on SYKD and it was more enjoyable. I wish this book had more about the crime/mystery instead of the relationship. I might read the 2 seasonal books, and then end the series.

Its a very simple plot. The characters and the setting is a continuation from the previous previous 2 books.

Charlotte Mckay has just relocated to Sweetwater Falls from Chicago and has settled in remarkably well making great friends and having a super crush with the Deputy Sheriff, Logan. The initial books depicting her extreme shyness around Logan was cute but by the 3rd book, its quite tedious. Comeon, she's 28 and he's 35 - plus all the repetitions around the two is also irritating. The role or lack of any action from the Sheriffs department is worrisome . Shouldn't they be doing everything that Charlotte has gou d and suggested?

Its a cosy mystery so simplicity is the calling card. All hunky dory and sweet. The highlight of the book is her getting over her clumsiness around Logan.

Recommended: meh😐

Charlotte, her best friend Marianne and Aunt Winnie are helping with cleaning up after the Farmers Fair when Charlotte trips over a dead body. With her job at the dinner, she is able to listen to people talk as well as ask questions as she works to identify the killer. IN the meantime, she has met Lisa who Charlotte feels needs a pick me up so she gives Lisa one of her cupcakes. Lisa loves them and begins writing a list of tasks Charlotte needs to do to put her business of making cupcakes into place.

Logan asks Charlotte out on a date and Charlotte is as tongue tied as always. Marianne is with them when Logan asks so Marianne agrees to the date between Logan and Charlotte.

Continue to read how Charlotte asking questions helps her identify the killer as well as how the date goes between Logan and Charlotte. I love the characters in this series.

This is book 3 in the Cupcake Crimes series and as enjoyable as the first two. The author writes a great cozy mystery!
Charlotte is the main character. She lives in Sweetwater Falls with her Aunt, working as a waitress at a diner but wanting to make her dream of opening a bakery happen, she bakes the best cupcakes anyone has ever tasted. When Charlotte's new friend, Lisa, starts helping her make a plan for her bakery she finally thinks her dream may come true. Until Charlotte finds another dead body and it looks like Lisa may be guilty.
The author writes a picturesque story rich with small town relationships and plenty of secrets. I love these books and am confident anyone who enjoys well written cozy mysteries will to!

I love this cozy mystery series! The characters are relatable and quirky. The story is a wonderful combination of mystery and romance.

The latest murder in Sweetwater Falls finds Charlotte tripping over a dead man while having a brown snowball fight with the ladies of the Live Forever Club and Marianne. Jared was a personal trainer a few towns over who was rumored to be the hot stallion Lisa Swanson cheated on her husband with. Jared turned out too be a con man swindling thousands of dollars from his clients to open a non-existent gym. Meanwhile Lisa helps put a business plan in place for Charlotte to open her cupcake business based in Aunt Winnie's home. The romance between Charlotte and Logan starts heating up as well. Highly recommend!

Lisa Swanson is helping Charlotte McKay plan out her dream of opening her own cupcake bakery in Sweetwater Falls. But that may get derailed when the discovery of a dead body might point to Lisa, or maybe not. When everyone heard about Jared being murdered, they piled into Bill’s diner for the latest gossip. But it also gives Charlotte the opportunity to hear people talk about things, so maybe she can get some clues for finding this murderer. As she finds some surprising town secrets, she’s not so sure how to deal with them.

Charlotte is also making some progress with Logan, the son of the Chief of Police. She actually got to go out on a date without embarrassing herself.

Can Charlotte solve the murder? Will she get another date with Logan? Is Lisa innocent of the murder? Lots going on, so don’t miss this one! Stop into the diner and see what everyone has to say!

Cupcakes are the cornerstone of this light-hearted romantic cozy mystery. Heroine Charlotte has a crush on the handsome son of the Chief of Police and her tentative steps toward financial independence using lots of chocolate and cupcakes helps her to overcome the clumsiness that dogs her steps every time she is in his presence.

All the cozy mystery elements are present, with a heft dollop of romance and humor (the brown snowball fight is a classic). The story was a little heavy on the romance side of friendship, Charlotte loves, loves, loves everybody and everything in her new hometown which tended to detract a bit from the actual mystery of the story.

Charlotte seems to always be tripping and falling either over dead bodies or just her feet while walking near Logan. BTW, I need a Logan in my life with his thoughtfulness, romantic gestures and all that. I call her great-aunt's group the Two Live Crew and they brought the funny in this one as well. It seems I have missed the 2nd book in this series that I will most definitely be catching up on. I think the guilty party was very obvious in this one but I still enjoyed reading the clean and funny tales of Aunt Winifred and her crew of bandits and all the mischieft they are ALWAYS cooking up!! Poor Sheriff Flowers just can't keep up!!

The books in this series are starting to get a little repetitive. I’m still enjoying each book so far but I’m not sure how much further I’ll make it into the series. The editing also seems to be getting worse as I get further in.

“‘Honey, Lisa is here. Come say hello.’ Then to me, Lisa says…”

Why is Lisa telling her own husband that she’s home? This isn’t the only mistake that I noticed while reading either.

I also don’t really care for the main romance so far either. Charlotte and Logan just aren’t that interesting together in my opinion. I find myself wishing that Charlotte and Marianne were the main couple instead, especially with how Charlotte’s basically confessing her love for Marianne every time she describes her.

Charlotte and the gang are cleaning manure from a farmer's field after the fair, when suddenly Charlotte stumbles on a dead body during a snowball fight. Did I mention the snowballs are made out of animal pooh. Charlotte befriends Lisa, the suspect in the murder, believing her when she said she didn't kill her trainer, although the rest of the town isn't convinced. It seems they believe Lisa was having an affair with her trainer. Did Lisa's husband do the dirty deed out of jealousy? Join Charlotte and the gang as they launch an investigation, there are plenty of fun moments.

A beautifully, well written cozy mystery with the perfect balance of sweet and suspenseful. Charlotte is the new girl in the small town of Sweetwater Falls. Her live interest Logan has her stumbling all over herself and bestie Marianne has her back no matter wes hat. Throw in her wildly over the top great aunt and her friends in the Live Forever Club and you have characters that will have you laughing out loud all while stumbling across a murder and somehow helping the police solve the crime. Fun and sweet this read will have you hungry for more!

This book started out hilarious! Then, of course, moved to a dead body. But what is a good cozy mystery without a murder? I love how open minded Charlotte is when it comes to not taking a person’s character on rumor alone. Because of this, things are really looking up for her and her cupcakes! Is a cupcake business finally in her future?? Maybe! Having wonderful people around that believe in her doesn’t hurt either. As to the murder, I was actually surprised at the events and how it concluded. Like Charlotte, I was hoping for something different. Really great read!

I love cosy mystery books. They're usually a nice, light read between more substantial literature.

The premise is much the same as many cozy mysteries. Big city girls move to small town and starts finding bodies. Of course, everyone is suspect and no one is safe from the amateur sleuth.

I find these characters to be fun, if a little too wholesome and sweet. I like the ageing trio and their shenanigans. I like Charlotte, even if she is a bit starry eyed and awe-struck by small-town living.

The plots are getting easier to figure out and solve whodunnit. Charlotte is slightly less clumsy but that is still her shtick.

This book was a little slow moving at first for me, but towards the middle it started to pick up. It was a bit repetitive, the same descriptions of things or people over and over again. I think now in the series everyone should be aware of certain things and they shouldn’t have to continue to be repeated, but other than that I really enjoyed the book. The mystery wasn’t as intriguing to me as the last two were, I was mainly focused on the romance subplot and I loved it. I’m glad to finally see some character development in Charlotte, I love her character so to see her finally begin to grow is refreshing.

Charlotte is a magnet for dead bodies in poor Sweetwater Falls. This time while out cleaning up after another town gathering she literally trips over this one. In the process of helping to solve the new murder, she gains new friends and managed to go on a date without making a fool out of herself. Cupcakes are eaten and good times are had. This is a great series with books you can read rather quickly. Charlotte and company are a fun bunch of characters that will make you laugh!

This is my first book by Molly Maple, and I will definitely be reading more.
Charlotte is such a fun character to read, I love that she has her strengths and also some very relatable weaknesses. Her tongue tiedness around Logan is absolutely adorable and understandable. The twists and turns throughout the book kept me engaged and entertained, finished the book in a day because I didn’t want to put it down.
Highly recommend reading!

When the Live Forever club cleans up after the fair, they find more than manure.

A gross “ brown snowball “ fight reveals more mysteries- lethal ones.

Can Charlotte live up to her nickname Charlotte the Brave? Will she manage to get past her worst clumsiness with Lethal gan, and move ahead with new business ideas with help from her friends and loved ones?

Her desserts are sweet - but someone seeks bitter and lethal vengeance

The Cupcake Crimes series is wonderful, easy to read and you really like all of the characters. Miss Charlotte is so easy to associate with. She has a talent for baking but has not had the ability to turn it into a business but still loves baking cup cakes. Aunt Winnie and her cronies have given Charlotte the bravery she has needed for years. But then there is Logan, without even trying he can make her a clumsy, unbelievable in articulate person who is not "brave". The series makes you want to read one and then go straight to the next. Be glad when #3 is out there.

Another great book in the series. The third one I've read in less than 24 hours!

Amazon synopsis:
When Charlotte befriends Lisa Swanson, her dreams of owning a cupcake bakery finally begin to come true. But when a body is discovered and all signs point to Lisa being the guilty one, Charlotte doesn't know what to believe.

Murder isn't the only crime that Charlotte uncovers in her quest to clear Lisa's name. When secret sins come to light, soon the plucky citizens in the small town of Sweetwater Falls don't seem quite so innocent anymore.

I am loving this series, a woman who bakes wonderful cakes, is a complete klutz around the attractive deputy and solves murders, what's not to love. Wonderful querky characters, the ninety year olds pranking houses and having manure fights, so much fun. It was not hard to work out the killer but still a wonderful read. Can't wait for book 4.

Double Fudge Felony is the third book in the Cupcake Crimes Series and is a charming cozy mystery.

I am loving this series. The characters are the kind of people you want as friends, murderers excluded, of course. The story is entertaining and sweet as Charlotte has to find a killer before her friend is arrested. This story has murder, mystery, and a touch of romance to enjoy.

This is the 2nd in the series. The main character is Charlotte who dreams of starting her cupcake bakery. She discovers a body while cleaning up after the fair. Then she runs into Lisa , who people think was having an affair with the dead guy. Charlotte is sure she had nothing to do with it and with Lisa's help starts a cupcake store out of her aunts kitchen. She also sets out to prove Lisa had nothing to do with the murder. Can she figure this out in time ?

This is the second book I've read about the ladies of Sweetwater Falls. Winnefred's niece arrives in town to start a new life. Her crush on Logan, the town deputy is comical since she always does something crazy when he's around. I feel she's a tad exaggerated and can't see he's sincerely interested in her. A murder mystery takes up her time and even making a new friend doesn't put her at ease until she discovers exactly who the murderer is!
A nice cozy mystery with fun characters.

New friends, a new business and murder

Start with a manure snowball fight, add in an unexpected dead body, a romance or two that are finally taking off and a group of swindled investors and you’ve got the ingredients that make up Double Fudge Felony. Another wonderful mystery in this cupcake themed cozy mystery series. Love these stories and the lighthearted fun they deliver with each read!
