Could a single entity be responsible for a multitude of our paranormal experiences throughout history? Drawing upon her decades of extensive research in all facets of the paranormal, Rosemary Ellen Guiley makes a compelling case that our interactions with spirits, extraterrestrials, shadow figures, ancient aliens, demi-gods and human-creature hybrids all involve the mysterious Djinn. The Djinn are little-known in the West beyond folk tales of genies in lamps and bottles, but they are real and active in our world. They are a race of powerful, masterful shape-shifters who exist in a dimension parallel to ours. Humans have had millennia of intense engagements with the Djinn, who disguise themselves in the forms of many different entities in order to keep themselves and their true motives hidden. Some of their motives are not in our best interests. The Djinn are not the only beings interacting with humans, but their giant shadow falls across every part of our paranormal and entity contact experiences, including bedroom invasions, alien abductions, and genetics manipulators from other worlds. The Djinn are significant force in the destiny of human beings. In The Djinn Connection, Guiley explains what we need to know and how we should respond.

The chapters on The Fairy Connection, The Watchers and Nephilim, Gods, Anunnaki, Angels and Archons were fascinating and very informative.
What I didn't like:
Djinn, djinn, djinn, djinn. Everything comes back to the djinn. I can understand that the djinn fit the bill, but there are many names for spirit entities in different cultures. Labeling them all djinn doesn't seem necessary to me.
Far too many personal testimonies concerning the Shadow People. It's not that I don't believe these individual stories, but so many variables come into it. I found these passages to be repetitive and irritating. Give me references, give me other areas to investigate, give me people in history who have encountered such entities, don't give me Mary Sue's midnight experience. Sorry, but it dragged. I skimmed. Enough said.
Spirit-Human Hybrids. Gah. Seriously? I know they do crop up in mythology but come on now, really? I can't stretch my suspension of disbelief that far.
The Black Death, 'evil' miasmas, etc, as caused by the djinn. Nope. :/
Possible world domination by the 'djinn'. I think not my dear...
This is the second book I have read on the subject. Because I am fascinated with other cultures, and I am opened minded , I also read this one.
I have read other Encyclopedias penned by this Author, an authority in the Paranormal- Metaphysical research field. I like the book. The detail in this book was extensive, but I didn't mind that the book was lengthy.
The book provides an in-depth look at these ancient beings with scientific analysis, historical background and theory. The Old Testament, was utilized to support the theory that the Djinn ( the Genie-in the West) are a race similar to Angels. Or that they came from a similar realm.
Other than the book being interesting. I was not totally convinced that there was a correlation between such beings as Fairies, Elementals, Spirits, etc. and the Djinn. Although they may be similar in characterization.
It was a great tale though in theory. Do the Djinn exist beyond Middle Eastern folklore and myth? Or is it fairytale? There seemed to be a lot of conjecture on what they are , what they could be, what they may be, etc. As a guide book of sorts on the Djinn, I would recommend reading it.
the author is an expert in the field of paranormal research. this is probably the only book that makes the connection between the djinns and the western society and culture. at first i abandoned the book, but i picked the book again after i experienced some that's described in the book. really, there are not many creatures of the 4th dimension. it's just them, but we pay too much attention on how they look/behave in different cultures. they're just the same, like we're all humans. well, if you're into spiritual development, you only believe what you experienced.
2.5 stars. What can I say about this book? Well, the title could be shorter. After reading it, the title just needs to say "The Djinn Connection: The Hidden links between Djinn and EVERYTHING" because in the book the djinn had their fingers in everything. ETs, shadow people, ghosts, the Black Death, the Illuminati, fairies. E.V.E.R.Y.T.H.I.N.G. There was evan a book mentioned were as far as we know the author knew nothing of Djinn, but the book was linked to the djinn. It was a bit annoying. I was enjoying reading about all these different religions or histories only to have it ruined by being reminded that 'this is the djinn's favorite form' or 'the djinn does this too' or 'could the djinn be doing this as a ruse to fool us into thinking it's not them?'. There were also a lot of 'events were preceded by this, sometimes days up to years.' Years? Really? If something happens years before, say, an alien abducted, are we really sure the two are linked? It was a lot of speculation on the author's part. I get the book is about the djinn, but I guess I expected more history on the djinn.
On the plus side, I got an interesting story idea from the part about the djinn being like jealous guardian angels.
The only book of it's kind that makes the connection. Some of the theories are out there, but worth the time to read, digest, and consider. There is very little really factual information about Djinn out there. I consider Rosemary Guiley to be one of the US's better authorities on the issue. Her advice to NOT try to out-bargain an entity that has been around for better than a 1000 years is sound. We humankind have the worst habit of thinking we are so much smarter than those that have been on this earth far longer than we. Anyone looking for something beyond a good ghost story will appreciate this material for what it is: an investigative look into the ones born of smokeless fire.
