Blood Like Poison #1-3

Blood Like Poison: The Trilogy

Rate this book
Follow Bo and Ridley in their battle to save a love that transcends time, humanity, and the bounds of both heaven and hell.

Book 1: For the Love of a Vampire

Like most seventeen year olds, Ridley Heller thought she had her future all planned out. What she wanted most in life was to get out of small town Harker. Her only goal was to keep her mouth shut and her grades high so she could win a cheerleading scholarship to Stanford. But that was before she met Bo.

In Ridley’s wildest dreams, she could never have planned for someone like Bo, for a love so intense it left her breathless. No human girl could.

A haunting stranger that watched her from afar, Bo stole Ridley’s heart from the moment she laid eyes on him. But he has secrets. Bo’s a vampire. Both his past and his present are a danger to Ridley, but the biggest threat is not her blood; it’s her heart. He’s feeding a thirst for revenge that will cost him his life, and it may already be too late.

The more darkness Ridley uncovers, the more she realizes that her life will never be the same—with or without Bo. Can she sacrifice her future and her heart for someone who has a death wish?

Book 2: Destined for a Vampire

Ridley Heller thought that all her problems would be over if she could have Bo back—back from the dead. But what Ridley didn’t know was that her wish would come at a price.

Bo survived a condition that would have killed a lesser vampire, or any vampire for that matter. The only reason he didn’t die is because of who he is, someone Ridley doesn’t know at all. Someone Bo himself doesn’t know at all.

As Ridley gets closer to finding out Bo’s true identity, she discovers that loving him could also come at a price, a price much higher than she ever could have imagined. The question is: is there any such thing as a price too high to pay for Bo? For his love, for his safety, for eternity in his arms?

Book 3: To Kill an Angel

Ridley Heller thought her life would be perfect and trouble-free once she had Bo back. Unfortunately, she couldn’t have been more wrong. Learning Bo’s true identity has left them with their most difficult decision yet. They have two options. One, they can run away together and spend eternity looking over their shoulder, hiding from both God and Sebastian. Or, two, they can find a way to kill Sebastian. Ridley feels like there’s really only one choice, but killing Sebastian has a major down side for her—it will leave Bo mortal and her a vampire. She’ll be doomed to walk the earth alone for all eternity.

What will they choose? And who will have to die in order to see their goal accomplished? Find out in the exciting conclusion of the Blood Like Poison series, To Kill an Angel.

I bought this book years ago when I was looking for something in the Twilight saga trope. At 6% I was very underwhelmed and decided the heroine was annoying me...perfect cheerleader with the football player boyfriend. I liked Twilight because the heroine was an outsider who wasn't a part of the "in crowd".

I am huge love of ya vampire books and this was by far one of the best I have read. It had all the elements sexy damaged guy, great supporting characters and the lead female didn't annoy me. At first I thought oh no another twilight wanna be, but this was so much better.

Young vampires

Honestly this book reminded me so much of twilight series😒, it had some good parts but it would lag or go into allot of details about how the main character was feeling to the point I wanted to skip some of it🙄.

The first thing I want to say is that after reading this set, I have added M. Leighton to my "Authors to Read" list. Love her writing!

Now as for this series, I thought is was great. It does compare to Twilight in manys ways, but all of them good. The character interaction, longing, drama, tension, tenderness, swoon-worthy moments, an HEA were all present and accounted for.

Now, I have to mention that I have on occasion become a bit upset with all the series out now. I'm a tight-wad and try not to spend too much money on books, so I download free books quite often. Well, as you probably already know, most of those books wind up being the first of a series and to get the whole story you have to purchase other books in the series. So when I saw that this was a complete series being offered for free, I was floored. Needless to say, this and her writing have made me into an M. Leighton fan for life.

A great series that I thoroughly enjoyed reading. I loved the author's take on vampires, and was glad it was pretty different from anything vampire-related I had read before. The story was absorbing and I ended up losing myself if a fantastic tale of revenge, heartache, pain, sacrifice and love for most of today. The characters were well defined and by the end I was sorry to see Bo and Ridley's adventure come to a close. Their love story was a sweet and heart-warming tale. The writing was well done and apart from a few standard ebook grammar and spelling issues, it was captivating and emotionally charged. There were a few typical clichés, such as the insta-love at the beginning of the first book between Bo and Ridley, but that didn't really bother me once it was explained later in the story. This is one of the best vampire series I've read and even though some of it was a bit predictable, I enjoyed it thoroughly. I am so glad I spent today procrastinating to finish it!

What an awesome story!! Heartbreaking at times, gut wrenching, full of love and forgiveness. It's a vampire read that took me by surprise because I felt feelings. Not many can do that to me. Literally only a handful have done that to me, to where it gets me feeling...some type of way. What a lovely trilogy that will stick with me for life. If you love vamps, angels, & zombie-like creatures, you just have to read this trilogy. Leighton gives us a HEA but first we have to endure pain& sacrifices. However, the chemistry between our two main charaters is so heartfelt, you want that in real life. That's the beauty in reading. That is why I read. It took me quite a while to finish but I must say...I Loved It!!

This book started off really slow and too unbelievable for me. I didn't buy the relationship between Bo and Ridley AT ALL. It isn't until much later, Book #2 or #3, where things are semi-explained and fixes this problem.

Glad this was free. Vampires, angels, and prophecy. The basic premise of this book was a bit different from what I'm used to reading, which was nice, I just didn't like any of the characters or the "heroine" much.

this is a unique twist on the typical vampire story. I loved ridley and bo but I have a huge spot in my heart for Savannah! I love how the stories flow. each book ends with just enough to have you wanting more. the author put thought into making this different no other story has fading/invisible vampires. I do feel like the last story was the best of the 3

This trilogy was sweet and full of action. From the first book, where Ridley learns about vampires, to the second and third, where she must come to turns with the loss of some friends and her own destiny. The third, and final, book is the best. The whole trilogy is well worth the read.

This was somewhat predictable but there were several surprises thrown in that I did not see coming. There is no foul language but there are several intense vampire violence scenes that some might get turned off to. Overall I liked it as a trilogy.

The first book starts with the intro to characters and their personalities. Once you get into the second and third book, the drama, romance, fights and longing is all built up and you can not get enough. Great story
