I have waited so long for this book to come out after reading the first one and it was so worth it! The way Kohen and Alex love each other is amazing, they break each other and also put each other back together! This writer has a way with words, she makes you feel like your in the book! Do yourself a favor READ this series!!!!

Way to end this.

I cried with the ending of the first book. I so wanted Kohen for Alex. And this book Alex had me throwing my phone everywhere. I loved how she finally saw X for who he was and Cora ended up with an amazing man.

First of all, I'm not sure what the author did between the last book in this series and this one, but I noticed a massive improvement in her writing and the final product. It felt more refined, less scattered, the dialogue between characters felt more authentic and flowed better, there were fewer typos/grammar errors in this book (although still too many).

I also felt like the FMC was toned down a lot more in this book, which made her feel more believable. I liked that there was self work happening and the call out of toxic cycles and relationships because let's be honest, those toxic patterns are a big draw for this genre, but they aren't talked about enough in a healthy way and I commend the author for attempting that discussion. TBH, I don't really care about Kohen, but I think it's just because his character isn't developed enough and he also feels like a different person than he was in the first book.

Some story issues - there is mention a couple of times about Kohen's loss of his mother, but we're never given details about that. There is still the overuse of certain words/terms and the need for a thesaurus and a stronger edit. There were a few plot holes. Things that just didn't make sense like when FMC kisses MMC on the shoulder, but he's supposed to be more than a foot taller than she is. There was a whole shower scene that had me confused because did she go in with clothes? Did she take them off? Are they wet?

Well I can tell you I'm sad to see the ending of their story but at the same time I'm so happy they finally got their HEA. All the pain and suffering they endured as individuals made them how they were and how they view relationships. Alex didn't want to get hurt so her toxic way was to just use men and tossed them once she was done. But when Kohen fell for her he was determined to show her what real love looked like but eventually she ended up hurting him and book two was about healing all the broken pieces.

Alex and Kohen

This book was the perfect ending to Alex and Kohen’s story. It was an emotional rollercoaster from beginning to end but was worth every bit of tears and happiness I went through reading this. Alex and Kohen’s story is so relatable to not only myself but to so many other people in the world. The phrases, “hurt people hurt people” and “ healed people heal people” are so true and this duet really shows that. The fact that these two got their HEA and more was so perfect. I was really rooting for them to get that and was so happy to see that they did. Issa is such an amazing author and knows how to write a really suspenseful, heart wrenching romance. The smut in this book was so good, chef’s kiss. I’m excited to read some more of her books, especially the darker romance ones from her. Now I am really hoping for a book on Cora and Levi ;). I need more from that couple.

I'm currently still reading this book and I can say from what I have read so far... I'm totally enjoying it. It picks up right where Alex and Kohen leaves off and you can tell there's some tension between them, but they still love each other. There are a couple of surprises, but you would just have to read the book to find out what those are!!

I've been in love with this series since I read the first book and I couldn't stop thinking about it. I have recommended this series to a couple of book groups that I'm in on Facebook and I constantly think about Alex and Kohen. Overall the book is amazing and I love the growth from Alex and Kohen. I love their friendship dynamics and how they will always care and love one another. I'm just so not ready for them to end yet!!!

Book two picks up where book one ended, and it was so well worth the wait.

Kohen and Alex love each other in their own way. They have this tendency to both break each other and then put each other back together. They have this toxic kind of love, which goes through cycles, and it was good to see that they took the time to acknowledge this and the self-work they put into making their relationship work.

Issa’s style of writing is refined. The growth and development of her characters were authentic and flowed with the story. If you need a pick me up, do yourself a favour and read this series. It will not disappoint.

I am not really sure how to put into words what this book means to me! Little Broken Pieces left us with Alex & Kohen breaking up and let's just say it ripped my heart & soul out!! In book 2 Issa's gives us all the feels and opened this world up to new & exciting characters! We also get so many answers that feel in some of the reasons why Kohen is the way he is. But above all us Issa Marie shows what it can feel like to be completely loved inside and out. And that true love always wins in the end!! This second book really shows the growth in Issa and all of her characters and I am so thankful to be along for this ride!! I wish I could give it stars infinity because it deserves it!

After reading the first book in this duet I was literally a complete mess! Completely shattered and crying my eyes out! I love Kohen and Alex to pieces. Definitely was on edge waiting for this second book. This Author didn’t disappoint whatsoever! Yes I cried, laughed, gasped, and screamed at different times. The growth we get to see in them individually was purely amazing! Just warms my heart! Also just the way they love each other so hard and for others, will just take your breath away! So many twists and turns that had me speechless. Kohen is not added to my book boyfriend’s. He is my book husband and I’m not sharing him lol! The things he does and quotes he says, oh my heart! Then the spice hot, hot, hot! You will be clenching your thighs and fanning yourself for sure lol This rollercoaster is definitely one you want to be on! Buckle up and enjoy this raw beautiful ride!!!!

The way I devoured this book! This duet really. The tension and chemistry between Alex and Kohen is out of this world. This book picks up right where little broken pieces left off with Alex and Kohen breaking up. The healing and work these two do within themselves to help heal each other is amazing. Kohen was exactly what Alex needed to get through all of the stuff she was dealt in life. Kohen. Swoon… Levi. Swoon…I could not get enough of these characters and this story. The passion, the heartbreak, the happiness..you could just feel all of it with the writing. And girl…the spice was SPICING!! I was not ready to let them go!

I loved all the characters in this duet but Kohen had my heart from the page I met him in Broken Little Pieces. Kohen and Alex both have issues that really get brought out as they start their relationship. Trust issues and a natural wall they’ve both built to protect themselves..so seeing them break down these walls together and not without struggles was very relatable to me. I cried and laughed with them. The side characters were just like old friends to me. The spice is 5 stars they never had issues in that area for sure. People who are hurt hurt. That’s sums it up but in the end love always wins.

Not as good and heartbreaking (thankfully) as the first book. I really loved the first book so much so I had high hopes for this one. It didn’t really deliver though… ☹️

BUT !!! when I had like 20% left of the book and felt a bit empty with what the book gave me - I realized I was waiting for chaos and heartbreak. But that’s not what this book is about, it’s about the healing and strong connection between A and K. About friendship and forgiveness. About finding yourself with the help of other people and giving yourself a break.

With that in mind, I actually loved this book. It gave me closure and I’m happy with the ending. 💕

This one picks up right from when the first book ended. I couldn’t wait to read the conclusion of Kohen and Alex’s story.

They both struggle in their own ways during this book. You see a different side of Kohen that you didn’t think was possible. Alex tries to mend what was broken with the support from someone no one would have expected.

Kohen and Alex’s story was truly one of a kind. It just shows that healed people heal people.

Can two broken hearts find their way back to each other?

This book pretty much picks up where book 1 ended. You feel the emotions right from the start, the heartbreak, the anger, fear and love. Alex and Kohen were extremely toxic for each other in book 1. But book 2 gave them their HEA and in the best way. Their growth is phenomenal. The way they both realize their toxicity and what they each need to do to work together to make their relationship better had me rushing to read this book because I needed to see them make it!!! Love their friend group dynamic, their spice and overall their growth!!!

I loved this duet and His Daggered Heart was the perfect ending to Kohen and Alex's story. Kohen is definitely perfect book boyfriend material! I honestly didn't want this book to end. This was such a well written story of how two broken people can heal each other even through the toughest of situations. I especially loved the friendship storylines with Cora and Levi. I also loved how both Kohen and Alex had great growth and their storylines were well wrapped up at the end!

I really wanted to love this book like I did the first one but for some reason I was almost annoyed by the characters at times. They are young and are written that way so that gels. This was very fast paced with a lot going on almost too much at times. You do get to see them grow which helped redeem this book for me. I did love the quote "Hurt people hurt people and healed people heal people". It felt that once Kohen and Alex truly believed this they really began to building their relationship.

This is the 2nd book in the Duet, and it blew me away. I couldn't wait to read this after the cliffhanger of book 1.

The relationship dynamic between Alex and Kohen was so relatable. I loved the addition of Levi. He really helped Alex grow as a person. This story shows that sometimes love really is enough to get through the tough times.

If you have not read little broken pieces you need to. Just like that one having you in your emotions this on will too. There was so many times I cry and cared so much for Alex and Kohen. The spicy was so well written and you got to see Kohen's alpha side. Alex friendship with Levi was so sweet and good. This book end on such a good note and makes this book a must read. You will love the roller coaster of emotions in this book and want more of Alex and Kohen when your done.

This is booked two of a duet. Book one was very toxic with plot holes and this one was very similar. I had a hard time relating to the characters and I felt as though some of the information was off regarding the area that it took place. I wish I liked it more, but it was extremely hard to get though with the way they where both so toxic there was not enough positive people everyone was so toxic except one character and he didn’t show up till this book.

I’m super sad that the duet is over but can’t wait to see what else Issa Marie has in store for us. I loved both Kohen and Levi and the way the both doted over Alex. Then again I am Alex. Everytime she did something off the rails in the duet I’m like I don’t see the problem. It’s an amazing read with great writing and I would definitely read it again!!

I am obsessed with this duet and this book was the perfect ending.
We pick up right where the first book ends and we welcome our new favorite cowboy, Levi, to the mix. What turns into regret, becomes the best night of Alex's life as she allows herself another best friend in Levi. He helps her become a better version of herself while allowing Alex to use him to heal from missing Kohen. Let's just say, that does not last long and our amazing couple is back and in full force ready to take on the world, together! Kohen will always be her Knight in shining armor. And we can't forget Cora and Levi. They are too adorable and he is her perfect match. With honesty, loyalty, and becoming the best family to each other, this team is one of a kind and nothing can break their bond.

I was hooked from the beginning and the spice between these two is oh so delicious. With the little hints of her other book characters, and the twists and turns within the story, Issa Marie did her thing and I will always be here for it!!

Alex and Kohen had their issues, broken souls from their past. They had to work their those issues and heal. Cora and Levi were their support system but there were still obstacles there too. A roller coaster of emotions and in the end good won out.
