Best Christmas present ever! This larger-than-life book from Taschen is perfection. The two volumes come in a superbly crafted slipcase and contain incredibly good pictures of nearly all of my favorite stars and many memorable films. It is a history of Life magazine's symbiotic relationship with Hollywood, filled with the glamour and grit of movie-making. I read it all (except for the photographers' biographies) and I loved the little joke on the very last page. Happy New Year!
