Its Northern Germany in late 1988 and Chris Carter has just joined his first Regiment with the Royal Corps of Signals. He is just about to turn 19 and the Army he thought he had joined is not turning out the way he had imagined.
There is no adventure, just the boredom of being on exercise for weeks on end, sitting in the back of a wagon day in and day out. Back in camp there is nothing to do but drink, smoke, fight and fraternise with the local girls.
