Rate this book
Join Raines and Cameron Stone on a relentless journey through the shadows of retribution, where alliances will be tested, limits shattered, and a battle of epic proportions will unfold.

Raines and Cameron Stone, with members of the NYPD, have successfully thwarted an attempt to blow up New York City's infrastructure. Raines and Cameron are protectors; they fight alongside counter-terrorist agents and members of the New York City Police Department in a concerted effort to save New York. The battle did not come without a price. Raines was shot in the head. Cameron's girlfriend Sara, who's full-term with his child, was rushed to the hospital after being hit with a poison-tipped bullet. Both sides lost good men; the remaining terrorists escaped or were arrested.

After believing Sara has died; Cameron leaves the hospital in an emotionally dark place. He wants to find those who are responsible and make them pay. His otherwise stable, tactical demeanor has been overpowered by a hunter out for revenge. In other words, he has gone "Stone Cold."

Cameron's stepbrother Michael is in touch, helping him regain his focus and return to his training mode. Staying out of harm's way, the party continues to move the injured to different locations while their antagonists, teams from the Far East, multiply. The enemy aims to take Raines and Cameron out once and for all in a climactic fight to the finish. A mysterious visitor, a sadistic psychopathic fighter, and a computer whiz make "Stone Cold " an action thriller not to be missed.

In Stone Cold, Thomas LeBrun introduces us to Cameron Stone, a seasoned martial artist who, despite not being an official affiliate, often aids the NYPD and counter-terrorism agencies. The narrative unfolds in the aftermath of a devastating confrontation with terrorists, wherein Stone's colleague Raines is critically injured, and his pregnant girlfriend Sara tragically targeted with a poisoned bullet. This event triggers an enraged Stone to transform from a measured tactician into a revenge-driven warrior, and it's up to his stepbrother and sparring partner Michael to restore the balance, brought about only through the discipline of martial arts, to counter the formidable enemy threatening all that Stone cherishes.

Evoking memories of the popular Jean-Claude Van Damme films of the late 20th century, Stone Cold follows a somewhat predictable pattern of a martial arts thriller reminiscent of characters such as Lee Child's Jack Reacher. What distinguishes this novel, however, is the in-depth martial arts expertise that LeBrun clearly possesses and uses to animate the training and action sequences. It's not often that an author can convey such intricate knowledge in a way that even readers unfamiliar with martial arts can appreciate. The passion that both LeBrun and his protagonist, Cameron Stone, have for martial arts is made strikingly apparent.

While the antagonists in the narrative are notably streamlined, the simplicity of their characterization provides a stark contrast to the depth and complexity of the protagonists - Stone, Raines, and Michael. This narrative choice leaves ample room for growth and exploration. The potential further development of these adversaries could increase anticipation for their intriguing confrontations with the heroes, enriching the overall reading experience.

The novel remains thrilling, with adrenaline-pumping action sequences and a riveting pace. Stone Cold is an engaging read that martial arts aficionados and thriller enthusiasts alike would find thoroughly rewarding.

Back on New York soil, with Edmond Raines very alive and presence now known, this second book in the Cameron Stone Action Thriller series does not fail to deliver once again. Teaming up, this band of highly trained Close Protection Specialists and law enforcement, hope to finish what they started in book one, “Sticks and Stones.”

Enter the Chinese Triad, rich billionaires, trained killers, close protection specialists gone rogue, and more. The epic standoff finale is an immediate classic that will have readers loving every second of “Stone Cold,” as the best and most talented face off. Forget the street fighting we’ve come to know in today’s thrilling reads, author Thomas LeBrun brings clean, honorable, and highly trained fighting to the forefront. From the training, preparation, safety precautions, grandfather figures, gyms, shadow battles, and grand finale there is a lot of nostalgia, reminiscent of the martial arts we all grew up watching in “Karate Kid,” “Ip Man,” and more.

Picking up right where book one left off, Cameron Stone is out for revenge, as Raines sees much of his younger self in Stone. LeBrun brings to the page a wealth of knowledge and experience making “Stone Cold” a realistic and well-crafted read. From the discovery of lost family, mentors, and loved ones, as well as the increasing presence of figures in the shadows, well-trained enemies, and thwarted plans, this book will keep you on the edge of your seat page after page.

Whoa! Let me tell you about this book I just devoured - Stone Cold. It's like an adrenaline rush that doesn't quit! So, Raines and Cameron, these badass protectors, team up with NYPD to save New York from being blown to bits. But, man, the battle was tough, and they faced some real tough losses. Raines took a shot to the head, and Cameron's girlfriend, Sara, she's pregnant and got hit with a poison-tipped bullet! I was on the edge of my seat!

And then, Sara's supposedly dead, and Cameron's gone all dark and revengeful. He's like a hunter, out to get those responsible. The action just never stops! You know, the authors nailed it with the pacing and the feels - my heart was pounding, and I was rooting for the good guys all the way. Stone Cold is an explosion of emotions and action - I couldn't put it down!
