After nurturing and watching the members of her Coven pair off and find happiness with their variety of mates; Valencia Fabelle holds her head high in her typically regal fashion and prepares to live a solitary life, secretly envious of the soul deep love her girls have found.

But a voice from the past and heartbreaking memories are destined to make Valencia relive a time in her life filled with lies and deception that she would rather forget.

When Valencia fled Dameon LaBeau 200 years ago, she was devastated by his betrayal and the knowledge that his love was fabricated. With his sudden appearance on Mystic Isle, the usually stoic and composed Valencia is unnerved to the point of distraction.

Selena Blake’s Mystic Isle series has systematically introduced readers to Valencia’s quirky, vibrant and totally devoted makeshift family of battered, bruise and tortured women; so for Valencia to finally receive her HEA after giving so selflessly of herself to save and rebuild the lives of others, is nothing less than wonderful!

The latest book in the Mystic isle series, features the unspoken leader of the cove from the previous books. Valencia has never spoken about her past but now her past has caught up with her and she is not ready. Three hundred years ago Valencia thought she found her mate but on the eve of what was suppose to be her wedding she found out that he was only using her. Dameon has loved Valencia since he first saw her but a misunderstanding has kept them apart, but now Dameon has decided to make her listen and take off where they left off three hundred years ago. For those of us who have been following this series from the beginning all know that Valencia never loses her cool and is always in control. Dameon seems to be the only one who makes her lose it. Valencia is not the only one who loses control, Dameon is not going to get his way just because he wants to he must work for it. These two are a great couple who have changed over the years but still love each other as if they haven't been apart. We do get to see all of her coven mates since they are returning to the island for a wedding also Latham is back and we get to see him with his assistant Rosanna. While this story ends with a HEA and is a standalone we do get a peek into the next story which seems like it will be about the owner of Mystic Isle.

I was honored to be chosen to be a beta reader for this book and also given a copy for a honest review.

This is one of my all time favorite vampire romance series. After watching and celebrating the mating of all her coven mates....Valencia is about to find love....or rather rekindle a lost love. Everyone is excited for Izzy & Shades upcoming wedding on Mystic Isle. When a stranger appears his presents takes Valencia by complete surprise.

Dameon LaBeau is the very last vampire Valencia thought she'd ever run into on Mystic Isle. Three hundred years before their covens arranged for Valencia & Dameon to marry. When Valencia over hears a conversation, she flees her one and only love. Feeling betrayed by the other, the vampires in love spend the next several hundred years apart.

Will Dameon ever find out why his beautiful vamp left him at the alter? Will Valencia forgive Dameon and let them start again? Pick up this totally awesome paranormal romance today and find out....

I have been waiting for Valencia's story since the beginning of the series. She came across very aloof to me in previous books. We never really got much of her story, so I enjoyed learning about her past, though I wish I had a little more detail. It was confusing at times.
Dameon is sexy, slightly commanding and a little sweet. I always thought that Val would end up with Latham though, Dameon is good for her. He brings out her sweet, funny side.
I hope Selena writes more about these lovely ladies. I enjoy this series.

Bound to the Vampire

I hadn't read any books by Selena Blake in a very long while. It was on Facebook that I saw this book highlighted. Had to get it. And wasn't disappointed. Here were two star crossed lovers who were torn apart by evil that was in his family. Over two centuries they were apart. But now he has her in his sites and he will not give up so easy this time.

God, this is sooooooo wrong. It was ruined when I found out after they’d bonded, he slept with other women for 200 years. Nasty vampire. Nasty “mate” romance attempt. The special things bout mates is that once they find each other, there is NEVER another person they can love or have sex with. This is a disgrace to that.

The threads that bound them…

Valencia Fabelle is the female character that has most intrigued me in this series. She’s strong and independent, a vampiress who’s stylishly chic, daring, and always in control. She heads a coven of stray paranormal women that she picked up through the years and mentored and befriended, all of whom we have seen found their mates. Now it's Valencia’s turn and I thoroughly enjoyed every minute of her discomfort when faced with the gorgeous sexy man who once had her affections until his betrayal the night before their wedding. The prologue opens to a scene in the past and we see the young lovers but are left hanging as to what parted them. Their love was definitely passionate.

That the vampire, Dameon LeBeau, could still after almost three hundred years cause Valencia to lose control spoke volumes of the love that they once shared. At a masked ball on Mystic Isle he makes his presence known and what he asks of her had this reader gasping and Valencia shocked but with the grace that is typical to her she hid her emotions quickly.

I loved this! This story had everything, a sexy second chance romance; lots of humor, deep emotions, and great characters with a heartbreaking history to overcome and love that lasted through time. I read this book in one sitting so it kept my attention from page one.

Seeing Valencia who is always cool and collected discombobulated was priceless. I loved the sexiness between her and Dameon from their tango to the sex scenes. There was lots of humor, I found myself smiling and laughing often picturing the situations described like Valencia going snorkeling. The feelings between Dameon and Valencia were tangible. When they finally discussed the past things got very emotional and I felt both their pains. I like how they both handled themselves.

Dameon was the perfect complement to Valencia. I like how he thought. I never felt that he was bad, just that something had caused their rift and that it wasn’t what he wanted. I like what he demanded of Valencia and that he expected to get it, vampire arrogance yet it was not offensive just who he was. He realizes quickly that he has to work for what he wants; Valencia is no pushover no matter how much she’s drawn to him.

It was great seeing the coven mates together with their mates. The scene where it all publicly played out between Dameon and Valencia was perfection. Their past was so believable, vampire politics in action. I liked that they both admitted their mistakes. Time tempers everything and this time they looked at what happened in their youth through the eyes of adulthood. That Dameon had been guarding Valencia over the years without her knowledge showed how much he truly loved her.

There was a subplot between the God Latham and his assistant that I enjoyed very much. Getting to see not just Valencia out of sorts but Latham amused me greatly. I loved how Rosanna stood up to him and I’m dying to know if the God is going to have to answer his own phones.

Was a beta-reader for the author.

Love this series

I love this series and I love this book. It had to be extremely emotional. I would like to see Latham find his happy ending also.
