Twenty-year-old Savannah enjoys a one-time one-night stand because a real relationship would never fit into her busy schedule. Working two jobs and pursuing her degree takes all of her time. Besides, the guys she has dated haven't been much better than the random barfly.

It's a good thing Luke's body is honed by the long hours of carpentry and construction because he carries the weight of his family on his shoulders. School hasn't been an option for him since he dropped out to make the house payments his mother had failed to make.

Luke finds what he's been longing for in a night with Savannah. She's determined to stop with a one-night stand, but he wants more. Neither can deny the perfection of their passionate interludes, but with such imperfect lives, do they have any chance for a future together? Suddenly she's losing her heart and it's all happening much too fast.

Not recommended for readers under age 18 due to language and sexual content.

I know it’s fast. Too fast, but so good.

Savannah has a master plan and nowhere was there ever room for more than just one night. Savannah goal is to succeed so that she can stand on her own and not have to rely on a man like her mother, who keeps on upgrading her latest sugar daddy to a wealthier model. It was supposed to only be one night to let loose and have fun, and one look at Luke and she knew this man could give her exactly what she needed.
Something about Luke and his ridiculously high testosterone level had me wanting to keep him inside of me all day and all night. It was more than lust. The connection was chemical, or pheromones, or sorcery, but it was impossible to fight.

One night turned into two, three and four; suddenly a whole week has gone by, how is it that they can’t seem to get enough of each other. Savannah broke her one night stand rule, all for this muscled man who seems to have more responsibility than anyone should. Savannah quickly gets folded into Luke’s life and finds some peace in knowing she can soothe him. Luke is responsible that his fifteen year old sister has what she needs, a roof over her head, food on the table and most importantly safety and stability, something their mother failed to provide them.
In one week, I’d gone from one-night stand to being in love with a man who loved me back.

Their new found relationship is put to the test, how do you balance a life, work, school, a kid and a mortgage payment when you’re not even old enough to buy alcohol? How do you find love without losing yourself?
Have I missed my chance to be with you?

If insta-love is not your thing than pass on this book, because Too Fast lives up to its name but if you can accept that sometime there is no official time in which people fall in love, it could be love at first sight or friends that over time fall for one another than you will enjoy this book. There was so much more than the hot monkey sex but don't worry these two went at it like rabbits, and from the very beginning you are just caught in their tale that it’s hard to put it down. I laughed, swooned, and what my WTF moments, it was a quick read but I didn’t think it lacked anything, I only wish it was longer because I wanted more time with them Luke, Savannah and Nat. Luckily Sophie’s story is up next and I can’t wait to get my hands on it.

Darnit! I liked this one.

Here's the skinny:
a one night stand turns into a one weekend stand which turns into a one month stand and.....

wait for it...

then it turns into a forever-stand.

Here's my response:
Though it sounds like there is some "cat and mouse", indecision and shenanigans, the main couple, Savannah and Luke, lustily and congenially agree to keep on seeing each other without too much of the unnecessarily added dramatic streams of unconscious that involves: fighting the feeling or the other man/woman.

This is a good thing because the beautifully beta hero, Luke, carries enough drama in the form of his backstory. It is enough so that it tidily provides a central conflict and a some semi-colored secondary characters to move the story right along.

It turns out that Savannah is more of the alpha in this piece because as the heroine, she certainly saves the day more than once. She appears to be the typical NA female protagonist, lives up to her namesake and becomes a symbol of "savoir" to her man Luke. And Trust me, she does so endearingly. In addition, she gives him hot sex, a safe haven, support when needed. I know, this Savannah sounds like da bomb!, but the good part is that she's IS! The girl can dirty talk (a little) and she is not a virgin(and this was refreshing). She's woman enough to assertively get what she wants and needs.

The one who kind of wimped out and played that old "woe is me" BS card was none other than Luke. He didn't think he was good enough, that he deserved happiness. He felt that he had to put obligation over love. Yet, to grant Luke a little bit of a pardon, he had a sh*tty situation to deal with. However, how he dealt with it, sort of emasculated him. Why he dealt with it was understandable, but not so tolerable at times (if that makes any sense). And to make matters even more sappy, I admit sometimes feeling like I was reading a female character through Luke's PoV. I know, it is near sacrilege to say that about any hero if said hero is to be a contender for hot book boyfriend (lol).

Luckily, Luke stayed in the ring and survived without getting his dick membership revoked because he exhibited stamina(oh yes he did) and showed himself to be an awesome protector. Lastly, he ended up looking like the guy who was not afraid to appear vulnerable, admitting that he needed his woman to save him (Awwwghh!).

In all, I SHOULDN'T give this one 4 stars based on some WTF? moments with Luke's situation and some of the misfires in plot resolution as well as character development. But, I WANT TO give it 4 stars due to it's refreshing use of voice via the two alternating PoVs of Luke and Savannah in the 1st person. Similarly, I WANT to give it 4 stars because the readability and humor that flowed through the story made it light and fun at times. Will I give it 4 stars? No. The needed character development and better plot resolution wins out. However, this doesn't stop me from recommending this one as a quick & slightly interesting NA read.

Happy Reading!

There's a time that I wonder - whenever I pick up certain New Adult books - why I do this to myself. I haven't read a book this terribly written since "A Million Dirty Secrets" - and I would even say that's better written than this (which if you know how I feel about "A Million Dirty Secrets" - that's uber bad.)

I don't know if I can give this book a proper review because the experience was such a waste of time. I struggled a little at the beginning to start it, considering it was full of the usual slut shaming, virgin shaming, dual viewpoints in which the hero and heroine have the personalities of ice cubes among other problematic things. Between the heroine not wanting any "slut' digging their "Chlamydia-filled claws" into her one-night-stand man, and the hero saying that the heroine's bra "served up her breasts" just for him, I knew this wouldn't go well.

Samantha comes across as something of a stereotyptical Valley girl with the plethora of "OMGs" and "He's so hot." Luke was a sex beast with *issues*. What either one of them are doing in college, I have no idea.

On a serious note, I couldn't get much from either of their characters, and they spend so much time lusting and having sex and shaming everybody around them (because, OMG, they've got PROBLEMS! Even with each other!) that I was just done.

I laughed for a good few minutes in places, and I'm very sure those scenes weren't intended to make me laugh.

Can't recommend this at all. It was poorly written, stereotypical, flat characterizations, meaningless plot, meaningless sexy times, and just...not good. This book probably makes Katy Evans's "Real" look like Hamlet in terms of the writing, at least what little I've seen of the former. Goodness.

Overall score: 0/5 stars

I'd be lying if I said that I wasn't surprised by HOW MUCH I LOVED THIS BOOK!!! I picked it up not expecting very much, but what I got was an UTTERLY SWEET, yet OVERWHELMINGLY SEXY, TRULY ENJOYABLE read!!!

I loved Savannah and Luke and MY GOODNESS, how much these two burned up the sheets, made me REALLY JEALOUS! LOL!!!! I liked how it wasn't that angstsy either (and really almost all new New Adult titles nowadays are so full of angst that I really wanna scream and say get over it!!!) and OH JOY, NO CLIFFHANGER ENDING!!!!!

Well done, Alexia Haynes on your debut!!! You can bet that i'll be waiting impatiently for Sophie's story :)

Book Rejected
Another good example for why I detest Academic/College books.
I know, supposedly most are not like this. Maybe.
I secretly think they are though.
But there really isn't one good thing I can say about this story.
Reading is my drug but this book is a

So this book is a perfect of example of why one should not judge a book by its cover. Cause can you say cheesy? But inside this book is a wonderful story. It was a really fast read. But also a complex story about the ultra fast development a great friendship and romantic relationship.

The Good

Savannah: I liked her she was clearly, 20, and she was struggling with so much. But I think what made me love her was the fact that she had a good head on her shoulders. She wanted to be someone and go somewhere, and she is working her ass off to get there. I liked that she was open to a one night stand, and when she realized that both she and Luke wanted more she adjusted her ideas. I think that was the best part. I loved that she couldn’t see an end in sight for their relationship. I also loved her relationship with Madison and Sophie, though I wish we got to see a bit more, I liked what I saw.

Luke: Such a sweet guy. I liked that Luke didn’t let Savannah walk out of his life. He stuck with her. I also liked the fact that he trusted her with his secrets so quickly. He didn’t let it cause a bunch of unnecessary drama between them. Instead, he just told her all about his fucked up life and he let her decide whether she wanted to be a part. But I can’t imagine anyone saying no to being a part of Luke’s life. He is just the ultimate. The ultimate brother, father, boyfriend, friend, employee. just the best ever!

Natalie: Although we don’t get to be inside Nat’s head directly, between the amazing relationship she has with her brother, and the one she develops with Savannah, and Madison, she is so wonderful. I think she’s in a really bad place, and she knows that Luke is trying to shield her and she’s so appreciative of all that he has sacrificed for her.

All the Sex: OMG! It would not stop! And I loved it, I loved the intimacy that was between these two. It was clear from the get go that there was something more there. Something real, and powerful. And at least while they were having sex, they never denied it.

The Details: I thought the fact that there was so many details about what was going on, what Luke looked (yes you read that right) like, his house, the smells, and when shit goes down, that attention to details remains. I really admired that in this book.

The Bad

Insta-love: I have to say that it was really really fast. And that made it so much less real, but that’s not even that bad of a part.

The Language Some of the lines in this book were pretty cliche and cheesy, but I like that so for me on a personal level it wasn’t really an issue, but I can see why it would bother some people.

The Ugly

NOTHING! I really liked this book. I liked the flow of the story, i liked that no stupid drama was thrown in there just to elongate the story, instead this difficult relationship was explored, and we got a really great book. Can’t wait for the next one.

GOOD DEBUT

The story starts with Savannah waking up with a guy whom she has had a one night stand with. His name is Luke he's gorgeous, and Savannah is now in a rush to get ready for work. But Luke wants to see Savannah again. She allows herself to be persuaded to go on a date. So what initially began as a one time thing, starts to become regular.

The debut from this author is a well written story. I liked the plot and characters. Savannah is at college, she also works long hours so her life doesn't leave much time for anything else. Luke has a fifteen year old sister Natalie who he watches out for, as their mother is not capable, and causes more than enough trouble. Luke works hard and has to pay all the bills. So his life is no picnic either.

The relationship between Savannah and Luke is what you might call fast and furious. There are lots of sex scenes. And at times the story is emotional. An all round good read I look forward to more from this author.

Savannah is a strong, independent hard working college student; she works two jobs, has little time for, and is not really interested in dating. Savannah thinks a one-nightstand is the answer to her problems. Except her one nightstand turns out to be Luke, he is hot, gorgeous with muscles. And after a night together Savannah, and Luke one nightstand turned into more.

“A guy like Luke deserved more than one night. A guy like Luke deserved more of me”~ Savannah

Luke had the world on his shoulders; he has so much responsibility for someone who is only 20. He works full-time, pays all the bills, and because of his mother’s unpredictable behavior due to her mental illness he is also looking after his sister Natalie.

“Last night with Savannah in my arms, I slept. I had relax for the first time in about four years, and I slept peacefully.” ~ Luke

The storyline was fun, easy, fast paced and sexy with not too high drama. Told in dual point of view. It was emotional at times as I really felt for Luke as he really did have a lot to deal with. Savannah was just what Luke needed very supported. They were incredibly sweet and fun together. They found comfort in each other and understanding of what the other was going thought.

“I should be terrified that I cared about him. Luke was supposed to be a one-night stand, and instead my world was becoming tangles up in his.” Savannah

“You can into our lives and wrapped us up in your strength. You held us steady and filled the empty space in my heart” ~ Luke

Savannah and Luke relationship did develop fast, so it does have that insta lust /love feeling going on. But I really didn’t mind as it happens, and as with all that Savannah and Luke had going on in their lives I could see why they did. Their sexual chemistry was off the charts, resulting in lots of hot steamy sexy scenes, so I wasn’t disappointed. ;)

‘I love you too, Savannah. So much. And I know it’s fast. Too fast, but so good.’ He pulled me against him, brushed my hair out of my face, and said, ‘Too damn good to stop now.” ~Luke

Overall this was an enjoyable début novel from Alexia Haynes. I like her writing style engaging from the start. It had some fun secondary characters such as Luke’s sister Natalie and Savannah’s friends Melanie and Sophie are the type of friends that every girl needs. It was a short one, and so some aspect of the storyline could have been developed further, but that being said it was straight to the point, flowed well, and I like the character development, I laughed, smiled, and I did say WTF! A few times. It wraps up nicely with no cliffhanger just a sweet ending. I’m looking forward to reading Sophie’s story in ‘Too Loud’, and I hope there will be more from Savannah and Luke.

If you are looking for a quick sweet passionate and emotional romance story then I would recommend you add this to your TBR list.

I don’t trust Aubrey!
I am hoping this book will be a series!

Let’s get into the book now.

It is so refreshing to see a guy sacrifice so much for his family. I am so used to the girl having to do all the work while the guy has to come in on his almighty steed and save her. This book detours from the norm which makes me love it so much more.

Luke
Hot carpenter guy trying to take care of his mom and sister. Luke can be both irresponsible (one night stand, love and first penetration) and responsible (sole provider to his mom and sister) at the same time. We get to experience these two different personalities and see how he has to constantly try to balance. He has been so dedicated to ensuring his sister is protected that the one time he focuses on his happiness, it seems that all hell has broken loose. What saddens me about this book is that I feel as though Luke just had too much to deal with and had to give up too much. I mean, I could understand sacrifice, but honestly, I felt it was just too much. It was nice though that in the end his mom stepped up and he was able to have his happiness.

Savannah
A screamer, I love her. Luke’s reality check, the person to make him act his age. I loved her. She, like Luke, has to struggle a bit, but unlike Luke, she has been able to act her 20 years. She shows her maturity, when Luke became a part of her life. She never ran when things got hard with Luke, she stood by him through all his crap. I even loved how she wasn’t harsh with his mom. Most women may have felt it was their right to lash out at the mother, she knew her place.

Luke and Savannah
Screamer and Sex Addict. I loved them, I loved how they couldn’t keep their hands off each other, even in the presence of Luke’s sister. The poor child was traumatized. I loved that even though Luke situation with his mom and sister was less than ideal, they still found chances to be carefree and young, I mean they are barely in twenties. I loved that when it was necessary, they bonded together, even when Luke pushed her away, she was still there when he needed her.

Other Characters
Natalie
She is so grow up for her age, I love her relationship with her brother. And even that she has completely given up on her mother. I need this book to be a series, I want to see her grow up and fall in love. I want to see Luke be over protective and threaten her bfs.

Aubrey
I DO NOT TRUST HER

Madison
I want to see her change and become a sexy school teacher and find a really hot guy. Or get a hot guy and become a hot school teacher. Either way, Book 2, 3 and 4.

PLEASE LET THIS CONTINUE........

The original review can be found at Deb's Crazy Obsession

I'm not entirely sure ho to feel about this book. On one hand, it has a great general plot. On the other, it's a bit shallow and bland. On the third, they're having too much sex. On the fourth, they're not having enough.

If you had asked me what I thought after the first few chapters I would have said I absolutely loved it, it had a great build up and I connected and felt with both Savannah and Luke. But it never became more than that. It lacks that big plot twist that throws you off balance.

There is a minor twist that had had the potential to be a great one but it was introduced 20 pages before the book ended. 20 pages is not nearly enough to work through a major climax and 120 pages is a bit to long for a build up without minor bumps along the road.

I love the general idea about their different familial struggles and how they help each other get trough hardship but the characters are a bit under developed. You never get to know them on a deeper level because they never really talk. I loved the strong and sexy side of Luke, but he also has a sweet, protective side. Savannah works her butt of but still finds time to care for Luke and gives him what he need without him having to ask.

And they have the hots for each other, majorly. They can't keep their hands off each other. I get that you can have that instant attraction and/or lust towards someone, but I'm sorry, I don't believe in instant love. When they started throwing the L word around they barely knew each other and when it was out it just kept coming, and coming, and coming... It kinda looses it's meaning when you do that.

And the sex, they have sex on at least every other page, or they're thinking about having sex. It's not graphic enough to be classified as Erotica but it kinda disrupts the flow of the story, and more importantly, takes away from the story.

I really did love the first half of the story and if you overlook the sex this is actually a good book. It started out as a strong four star book with major potential but ended as a two star book so I guess that's what I have to go with, even though the star rating won't be telling the whole story.

Book provided from Netgally for an honest review

Savannah is a modern college student. She has lived her life watching her mom get into one unhappy marriage after another, each richer than the last. Savannah does not want to follow the footsteps of her mother and is determined to make something of herself. She works two jobs while supporting herself through school. Her busy schedule does not leave time open for a relationship. But just like any other woman in her 20s Savannah has needs that her B.O.B can not provide. So she makes a bold decision to go out and bring home a one night stand. But the man she takes home ends up being someone she can not get out her mind.

Luke, like Savannah, is also not a regular young adult. Instead of worrying about college and chasing after woman, Luke has larger responsibilities on this shoulders. After his father left his family, Luke has been responsible for taking care of his 15 year old younger sister, and his mentally ill mother. While most guys his age are dating countless woman and just figuring out what they want to do with their lives, Luke has mortgage payments and college tuition for his sister on his plate. Luke has been completely selfless his entire adult life. But after he meets Savannah he decides it's time to make his own needs a priority. But will allowing Savannah into his life interfere with his promise to always take care of his sister?

This was just one of those stories, that seem to really intriguing me now a days. For some reason the only books that have been catching my attention lately, are the ones about two individuals fighting through obstacles to be together. I really enjoyed this story. It was short and sweet and exactly what I needed. I picked this book up early yesterday morning and had it finished by the afternoon. If you're looking for a heavy plot and intricate character development, this may not be the book for you. But if you're looking for a good story that keep you entertained for a few hours, than I recommend this book to you.

I really enjoyed this debut novel. The title 'too fast' is appropriate as this is a case of insta-love between Luke and Savannah. I don't normally like insta-love in a book but the author wrote it well as she had Luke and Savannah both thinking to themselves that it couldn't be love so soon and maybe it was just lust. They both realise things have moved too fast (the story takes place within a month).

There is a lot of sex in this book, sometimes I found it inappropriate that they were having sex when his 15 year old sister was present in the next room or in the shower! The sex scenes are quite tame, nothing offensive for a younger reader.

At twenty years old Luke has had to give up school to work and support his sister as his mother is not up to the job. It's not really explained what is wrong with his mother but it sounded like Bi-polar to me. I think the author did too much telling rather than showing with the plot surrounding his mother. If she had made the book longer, she could have explored that more.

Savannah doesn't have a great relationship with her own mother and she definitely doesn't want to end up like her which is why she doesn't have time for relationships. She works two jobs and studies but when she meets Luke and it's supposed to be just a one night stand it is soon turning into a relationship and love.

One problem I had was the author tells us quite a few times how poor both Luke and Savannah are but they are always eating out and Luke is buying new furniture etc. This is a well written story with not too much angst. I liked both Luke and Savannah. The story is told from both their POV's. At times I felt Luke's voice was a tad female.

I look forward to reading the next book which is about Savannah's friend Sophie.

Okay, there really aren't any spoilers, I'm just quoting some of the dirty bits. Here are some of the sections I highlighted while reading Too Fast.

"Sleep is overrated," I told her. "Let me pleasure you first."

As she took me fully inside, I grew even harder, her velvet core responding with heat and molten honey.

"I have every confidence that I can match your appetites."

I wanted to keep her in my bed, filled with my seed forever.

She finally climbed onto my lap and pressed down slowly taking me to heaven in her velvet depths.

These were all from the first person POV of 20 year old Luke. Do these sound like the thoughts or dialogue of any 20 year old heterosexual male you've ever known? Velvet depths? Molten honey? I could have believed a 3rd person narrator saying those type of corny lines but coming from Luke's head? I think not.

So yeah, narrative voice was a problem here. Savannah's POV didn't really bother me, but Luke, oh, Luke!

Aside from that the story was fine, these two had so much chemistry they burned up the page. But for a girl that worked two jobs with a full load at college, Savannah did precious little studying. I mean, she knew exactly how many hours it would take her to study or finish a paper. I didn't really believe that she was so organized and from what I recall of college, studying doesn't always happen like clockwork.

Other aspects of this novel were kind of pat and neat and I couldn't quite suspend my disbelief to become fully invested here. The characters were all a little flat and there were inconsistencies that hampered my enjoyment.

I loved the plot of this story and its originality. Girl with weight on her shoulders meets boy with even more problems yet those problems seem to disappear when together….. who doesn’t love the sound of that romance? I liked the setting and the setup of the book. Many of the emotions involved were written wonderfully and I loved the depth of this book. Some parts felt fake and forced to me but otherwise the book was great and enjoyable.

Savannah was a wonderful character that makes it easy to connect with. Her lifestyle is relatable and I loved her attitude throughout the book. The author did a great job characterizing her and gave her character an inner strength and depth unknown to her at first but then discovered later in the book. I felt that the trials she was put through gave her a great strength and I loved her background.

Luke is a lovely character that doesn’t let anything stop him from going after the one he’s meant to be with. I really loved his passion for his family and how even when he got tired of their shenanigans he didn’t let that stop him from helping them. He had great character and I loved how he interacted with Savannah and really included her in on his life.

Overall this book was pretty good and I hope to read more by this author soon.

Perfect combination that got me to read this book, hot book cover and free (smiles). When you read as fast as I do sometimes it helps to get the free books Amazon has to offer and this one was a great book, not a good one but a great one. Luke he's a totally cocky flirt, "you didn't finish your research, College Girl. The night doesn't end until both of us are up and out of bed. And," he said with a sexy smirk," our night isn't nearly finished." Savannah she's an upfront and honest person, "she certainly wasn't intimidated by me, but I guess when you've heard someone yelling 'Oh my God' and your brother's name over and over, you aren't going to be intimidated." Luke is also a pretty confident guy, "on Sunday, after I left your place, I put condoms everywhere. Just in case. Well, I put them everywhere I pictured us having sex. So everywhere." Cocky boy. I think these two were perfect for each other and the timing was great at meeting each other, but they just didn't know it. I would love to have Madison's story next.

3.5 stars and I did really enjoy reading this book. Two young people out to have a one night stand that turns out to be so much more. He's a 20 year old trying to take care of his bi-polar mother and his 15 year old sister and she's a college student who was just looking for a quickie while she works three jobs and studies all she can to succeed in college.

Both were strong characters. And even though they frequently told each other that their relationship was more than sex, you'll find steamy scenes on just about every page. But most of it is really fun to read. We probably could have found out more of her backstory and maybe gotten to hear more of their non-sex conversations to add a little more emotion. This book easily could have been a 4 or even 5 star read.

Too Fast was a quick and very enjoyable read!
Savannah was a devoted, hard-working college student trying to make it through school without the help of her promiscuous mother. Luke supports his family and takes care of his 15 yr old sister, all while trying to deal with his mother's mental health issues.
Savannah is looking for a one-night stand and spends the night with Luke. Their intense sexual chemistry had them quickly turn their one night together into one month together.
Emotional, passionate and romantic are words to describe this Alexia Haynes novel and I look forward to reading more by her in the future.

This was a sexy little story. Thank goodness there was an actual storyline since there was so much sex. This about a one night stand that turned into a week stand and then a month stand and well then they fell in love. It also about Luke who is raising his fifteen year old sister. Their mother has an mental illness. Luke is amazing the way he steps up to the plate and works his butt off to provide for his family and protects his sister from their mothers mania and pretty much raises her. Lets not forget that Luke is a sweetheart and so dang sexy.

I loved this story and HEA!!!

Savannah is 20, in college, working two jobs and has no time for love. Her friends convince her she needs a one night stand. At a party one night, she meets Luke and as he is leaving the party, she asks him to go out for coffee. Their one night stands turns into a great story about love, families, and commitment to life.

I loved everything about this romance and am looking forward to the next book.

This was my first New Adult and it was smokin'! The characters had such intense chemistry I couldn't put the book down. I wanted Savannah and Luke to be together even when it looked like they were being pulled apart. The emotion. The heat. The sex...did I just say that? Yes, the sex was hot, hot, hot. All I can say is if I was going to have a one night stand then this is the kind I'd want to have. I can't wait for the next Alexia Haynes to come out!!

I was given this book to read and give my honest opinion. I thought this was a pretty good book. It wasn't slowly dragged out. In this book you meet Savannah and Luke. Savannah works a lot and is going to school and didn't have time for relationships. Luke works hard to support his family and was looking for a good time. Neither expected to find each other and fall so quick. That much intensity and passion that quick in a relationship could tear them apart.

I really enjoyed this, it was honestly a little "too fast" of a love but I guess that's the point. When you know, you know. In my own opinion I didn't like a lot of the dirty talk. It just felt strange, out of place. I enjoyed the story, Luke is an amazing character with a big heart. All in all it's a quick easy read.

This book had me laughing especially the wardrobe malfunction. It was a quick intense read and got straight to the point. I usually don't like the instant love, but this book needed that. The writing was put together really well. Honestly I had never heard of the author before but I am so glad that I found this book as it really was a great read.

After getting disillusioned from her previous relationships and trying to juggle between two jobs and school, 20-year old Savannah decided to engage in a one-night stand instead of committing herself to a relationship. Despite her penchant for skinny, artsy and disenchanted boys, she found herself hooking up with someone so opposite. Luke was a gorgeous hunk with a mysterious past.

Though Savannah’s initial plan was to chuck Luke after their one night tumble in bed, she discovered herself extending the one night contract to a month. And before she realized it, she was drawn to Luke more than she was able to accept.

Over the years, I’ve had my fair share of reading N/A books. But with the sudden rise of popularity in Y/A books, I decided to join the bandwagon. Reading N/A books have become a rare occasion for me but these past few days, I felt the need to make a break from the Y/A addiction. And so, I proceeded to NG and randomly picked a title and this was it.

I admit that the story was kind of clichéd but my curiosity on how the author will deliver it sold me out. And I wasn’t disappointed. Yes, the story might be predictable but it was light and had a lot of funny and giggle moments albeit the steamy sex scenes. The sex was sweet and kind of direct to the point. Not lengthy but it managed to get the feeling across without drowning me from too much libido. And the romance (excluding the sex part) wasn’t cheesy and wohoo, no love triangles.

Even better was the author’s effort in creating a good background story for each of the main character. Savannah was burdened with two jobs, college life and her mother’s fussiness. While Luke was troubled with raising his sister the best way he can while trying to make a better woman of his mentally ill mother. This has in a way teased my thoughts: How will our two leading characters get past those obstacles without transforming into stereotype hormone-driven individuals who’ll throw all logic out of the window in a heartbeat? I was quite glad that it didn’t turn out that way and the conflict was resolved as a win-win for both parties.

All throughout the story, Savannah and Luke maintained a likeable attitude even if they were so into each other. Like you know, they just can’t sit still without groping the other one. But despite that, their resolve to better their lives remained the number one priority. Savannah did an awesome job in not wallowing in self-pity or moaning about how Luke ditched her. Instead she gets on with life even if the pain is hurting her. Thank goodness, no Anastasia Steele or Bella Swan repeats. And Luke…ahh… underneath the hunkness is a heart of gold. He’s sexy and certainly adept in pleasuring a woman in bed and most of all, the big brother whom you can trust and rely on. He f—cks hard but he can really be fussy as a mother and doesn’t do bullshits when it comes to the people he loves. And that’s kind of an amusing combination for someone so macho. I also liked how the secondary characters were crafted; they were simply flawed, cool and authentic.

I was actually planning to give this book a four but I felt that it lacked a thing or two. There wasn’t too much action and Savannah’s cool friends were kind of left out. Like Sophie, the bestfriend. She was mentioned in the first chapters of the book, I was beginning to like her and then for some reason, the darkness swallowed her. And then at the end, I was kind of: “Huh? I thought you were dead!” Also, the since-time-immemorial-issue between Luke and his mother was resolved abruptly and it didn't sit right. I mean, it was a very deep issue and I was hoping that the author would give it the time and space it deserved. That’s all.

Anyway, if you want to read anything light and sweet without burying your nose in endless pages of ink, then this book is recommended.

College girl Savannah works two jobs and studies for her classes. She's got no time for a relationship, but for some reason, has decided that a one-night stand sounds perf. There's no discussion about whether it's because the girl needs some, or if she's just bored. All we know is that whomever she chooses, it's a one-time deal. Well, the SILLY UNIVERSE has other plans for our gal.

Of course alcohol was involved; normally, she would never have chosen a guy as built as this one! She's usually a skinny/serious kind of girl. But wow, does this Luke, with his Darlin' accent and his pumped (but not too pumped) body and magical boy parts GET her! Over and over! But seriously, there's more to Georgia Luke than humps the eye. You see, he actually owns his own house and lives there with his mom and 15-year old sister, Natalie. His mom has mental issues, and sometimes goes off of her meds and does things that Luke has to protect his sister from (and clean up after).

But he's never felt this way about someone before, never has felt the need to be so honest about his life, never wants to be with someone so much...until he realizes that that he needs to concentrate on getting Nat through high school without any further distractions. And Savvy did not figure this into her plans. After all, guys are usually jerks and a pain in the long run. But is it too late...for both of them?

Boring and blechy all at once. I've read this same story a thousand times, and it doesn't get any better. Even the frequent sex becomes tiresome in this conventional New Adult tale. Ms/Mr Not Looking and Ms/Mr You Don't Know How Bad My Life is So I Will Hide Behind Amazing Sex get together in a typical drunken manner. Against all odds, they really like each other. And connect. And maybe even fall in love. But one of them has to be the "bigger person" and let the other one go. It's just not the right time for me. I am not allowed to think about ME right now. I love him/her, but no. Urk. Stop. The blechy part is the "oh my sister is sleeping in the same room as us...we can't fool around!" but, alas, of course they do. And make out in front of Savannah's roommate (and others). Skeev city, baby.

I was also very bothered by a secondary character named Aubrey. This girl, one of Savannah's four roommates, slept with a different guy (or guys) every night. It was alluded to that she had "problems," but they were never discussed, She was just repeatedly called a ho, whore, slut - by her own roommates. Not only was that disturbing, but, if they disliked her so much, why was she living there in the first place? She was bringing home random people and, at one point, left some there alone with the other roommates while she went to work. This story line added nothing to the tale, unless it was to show the difference between a 'true slut" and Savannah (who also brought someone home for sex, remember?) or a one-night stand and a "real" relationship? Seems a weird thing to get preachy/shame-y about, though.

So if getting titillated is your main objective, in that you don't care about characters (except that they're attractive) and plot (except that it allows for more sex), then have at it.

Too Fast by Alexia Haynes was self-published July 18, 2013. A free copy of this book was given to Ink and Page in return for an honest review. Big thanks to NetGalley/the Publisher/the Author.

Oh here I go again getting fooled into thinking I'm going to be reading a great NA book. Wrong. So wrong. And it's really starting to piss me off. I don't know who categorizes a book into a certain genre but this relatively new NA genre is really screwing with the system. But in the case with Too Fast I think it's pretty obvious it doesn't belong there. I'd barely call it a romance novel. It's erotica plain and simple. Haynes that what you wrote, so what? There's people out there that like that genre and I'm sure you'd appeal to those readers. Just not my thing. And that's my problem with the whole genre categorizing. I want to request and review books from Netgalley based out of genres I read and like which would hopefully lead to me requesting and reviewing books I'm going to like. So now I'm left with the hard part of reviewing a book I didn't like at all because of that "categorization."

Anyhow, I have nothing positive to say. Too Fast has no story to it. It's sex scenes with a few non sex scenes thrown in there just to get to the sex scenes.
So the two main characters are supposed to have these troubled back stories/current lives but really because the dialogue is so weak(which I'll come to next) I have no feelings for these characters besides how god awful they were. And don't worry, you're sad that your moms clinically crazy, sex will solve that! :/

The characters have no personality. Totally one dimensional. Well besides the labels they are given. One roommate is a slut (slut-shamming, cool beans...), which is pointed out multiple times. And the other roommate is a boring prude because she's studying to become a teacher, wears cardigans and goes to church.
Savannah is another Bella Swan. And actually the only detail you get about either her or Luke is about their rockin' bodies. Apparently we are also supposed to feel sorry for Luke because his mom is crazy so he's had to raise his younger sister and pay all the bills. Well I'd say he's not a very good role model for her (proof near the end of the book when she drinks herself into oblivion). Apparently he use to be quite the drinker. But that doesn't even come close to the fact that he's pretty much screwing Savannah well his little sister sleeps in the same room. Brother of the year award right there!

And the writing, I'd say it's simple, but I've read books with simple writing and still enjoyed them. This writing and dialogue is just weak. It feels like a 13 year old wrote it and asked their 16 year old brother to help them out with all the sex scenes. It's terrible.
And any dialogue between characters is either super cheesy or rude and only about sex. Than they'll laugh and give each other faces about how much Savannah is "enjoying" Luke. Blah.

Oh hey, just thought of something positive. For a self-published book I actually didn't come across any spelling or grammar errors. They may be there, but I didn't catch them and my eyes are usually drawn right to any error. So there's that...

Obviously this book and I didn't see eye to eye. But going in if you know what you're really getting, than it might be an enjoyable read.

I was checking out the reviews for Too Fast and I was thinking what were they reading??? Don't be fooled by the reviews, this is a good book! It was a real story - it wasn't your normal happily ever after situation, but that is what made it real. I would totally recommend it to our 556 Book Chick Followers!

Savannah is a college student on the search for her first ever one-night-stand! Too busy working and studying there is just no time for a steady boyfriend, so why not get laid one good time and move on. But that's kind of hard to do when you pick the sexiest melting pot in the room. 'The man wasn't even my type, and I had no idea how I'd hooked up with him. Apparently, Savannah on tequila shots had higher standards for a man's physique. Skinnier, artsier, and disenchanted was more my style. Luke had muscles, vitality, and testosterone. Boyah!' LOL! She was already on her way to breaking this one-night-stand agreement, even if she didn't want to admit it. And its really evident she wants to go back for seconds when her friends are sitting around talking about having their go at poor Luke. 'I didn't want Aubrey's nasty, Chlamydia-riddled claws anywhere near Luke. Oh sure, I knew she was probably disease-free despite the odds, but I didn't even want her looking at him, much less doing him.' Oh yeah Luke had definitely did some things to little Savannah and she wanted more of it.

Luke was not your normal 20 year old! He was hard-working and responsible, but he didn't have a choice to be anything else. He was practically raising his teenage sister. He didn't need the extra responsibility of a relationship, but he also didn't want to let Savannah go! "You are the most beautiful woman I've ever seen." I kicked off my boots as I climbed onto the bed, carefully placing my knees on either side of her. I looked down into her green eyes. "Your luscious lips," I said, kissing her gently on her bottom lip. "This feisty little nose ring that taunts me when I look at you." I kissed the stud in her nose. You get the picture Luke was way past the take it slow mark - he was already gone!

They were offering each other something they both were missing - LOVE! 'Something about having her hold me like that made me feel, well, loved.' Awweeee Luke we'll hold you! LOL! But we all know that with every relationship comes the test! And Luke will have to choose between taking care of his sister or being in love with Savannah. And his mother doesn't help with falling off the wagon every chance she gets it. The decision is crystal clear to Luke, but will he be able to live with it?

Take the ride with Savannah and Luke, you will not be disappointed! Awesome book by Alexia Haynes! Oh yeah we didn't need to tell you, but LUKE definitely made the 556 Book Boyfriend list.
