Review: As the cover says, someone is going to kill Seema because he/she( a lawyer) is pushed to that end and how he schemes of Killing her and plans a perfect murder. But we all know there is nothing as, Perfect Murder. This is the plot on which whole books revolve.

The Positives in the book, it’s a short read. The author has not gone in lengths to explain what happens and why. Just the details that are required for you to understand how the story turns.

The negative in the book is, it is quite dragging in the beginning and got me so bored that I decided to call quits but still captivating to know how it will turn. You can guess how it ends.

Overall a nice read.

characters are not build so well... you cannot connect to any of the character be it seema's pain, Kamal's frustration or Pushpa's change of heart at the end...

Though i liked the end- how circumstance wind up to create perfect murder.

Incredible

Beats all others thrillers, that I have read so far, hollow. I don't know how this isn't a bestseller yet

If you’re surprised looking at the author’s name, you’re not alone. If not, good for you, and I feel like I was living under a rock! I didn’t know that India’s mathematical genius or the “Human computer”, Shakuntala Devi, had written a murder book. I don’t know what else to call it, it isn’t really a mystery, as the title seems to deceptively suggest.

My excitement lasted for a few pages, chapters even, but died down eventually. I wish I could say I liked it, but it was a drag. However, this is one of those books, I’d still recommend others to pick up. I think that’s because it might be ideal for a book club –it would generate a good amount of discussion. Perhaps there’s also a bias here since I’m still in awe of the genius the author was.

Kamal is a successful lawyer with a rich and amiable wife, Seema. He falls for his secretary, Pushpa, and plans to murder his wife to inherit a huge sum of money and marry Pushpa. Pushpa is his partner in crime, through the scheme of plotting and execution of the plan. He has witnessed many murder cases in his career, and plans for this brilliant, foolproof plan where he’s certain he wouldn’t get caught. The story proceeds with the details of the plan and execution, the author not wasting any words for the sake of literary value or embellishment.

For such a plot-driven story, were pitfalls. If you plan on reading the book, you might want to omit this paragraph. Kamal creates an impression to his wife that he’s having an affair with Sarita, another lady, as a smokescreen to the real affair. He also treats his wife as crap, and I wonder how he expects to inherit the money. If he was that clever, why didn’t he consider the possibility that she’d write a will leaving him nothing? How does he assume that Seema’s body would never be identified, even though it’s miles away, and that he wouldn’t be identified taking her in a car? Also, the characters didn’t seem to be developed well, it was difficult to relate to them. The only saving grace for me was the ending, which was reasonably good. Perhaps this can be a base for a Bollywood movie, although I doubt it can make a good one.

The ending was pretty obvious.... But it was filled with lots of twists and turns. The story is sort of Ekta Kapoor material.

Just a ok'ish and boring book! The story is a slow burner and eventually reveals to be not a so marvelous plan! Read if you don't have anything else to read.

Never could imagine that a person who is perfect with numbers can come up with an eminently readable and fast pace novel in the form of a "perfect murder". The book has an engrossing story line and could well be made into a Bollywood block buster. The story is narrated in first person so the reader can delve into the psyche of a successful lawyer turned murderer. Even though it is not a murder mystery, the end turns out to be interesting one.

A good mystery book will keep you returning pages and this book does that in an excellent way. For a mathematician, her penmanship is really amazing. Overall I'd rate this at 3.5 stars with the only negative being a dull climax.

This is an easy read and could easily help you pass time. However no character, or for that matter, even the story is not memorable.

Short story about betrayal, deception & irony. I get the message but didn't care much for the story or the way it was written. Too many gaps in the writing & a so so plot.

Fantastic thriller

A must read for thrill lovers. It's a good material for a Bollywood murder thriller movie. Its surprising to come from a mathematician.

Too predictable

Too simplistic plot. Was expecting more. Cannot make out era in which writer is in. We don't have jury system but many references to that.
