Wow! I loved this story!!! It's my first one from this author and I have to say, it did not disappoint me. I've read some reviews that gave me mixed feelings about this book and at first I wasn't sure, if this book was for me. But luckily I decided to give it a shot. Sleeves is one of those reads, you either love or hate them. And I definitely loved it. What can I say? I like my books filthy.

And he ran most of all because his life was a nightmare with no touch and no hope of ever living as anything more than a monster.

Of course, Kel and Casey's story isn't just about having lots of sexy times. It's also a story about overcoming their past demons and what was done to them. Kel's past is just horrifying. From the moment he was born, all he felt was pain. I even doubt he ever truly felt kindness and love, that is till Casey.

His body woke, and the blackness that usually would’ve taken him down by now, failed to conquer him.
She saved him.
She freed him.

I am so thankful those two met and although their first meeting was unusual to say the least, it was still the start of their amazing journey. They learned how to heal, to love, to trust and above all how to start their new lives together.

And while I know that their story isn't for everybody, it was definitely the right one for me. So, all I can say to the author is job well done!!!

All Kel feels when someone touches him is pain but touch is something he craves so deeply. He is constantly in torment. Finally, he meets Casey and her touch doesn't hurt him as much.

What in the heck did I just read? Don't get me wrong, I actually read the blurb for once before I read the book. I was looking for something crazy...and gritty and a bit raw to help cleanse my brain from an extremely romantic series that I just finished. Well, this certainly did the trick!

The beginning of the book came across a bit like this....

description

our hero being extremely Alpha, extremely angry and of course, well endowed. Unfortunately, that doesn't last, well, the Alpha part anyway. I seriously do not think I've ever read a book where the H cries so much! I think that was almost more shocking than his vulgar mouth.

Yes...his vulgar mouth not his dirty mouth. Of course, for some people they might be the same thing especially if you like being called a b*tch, slut, c*nt or whore on a constant basis. I didn't find anything sexy about it and neither does Casey in the beginning but then they sort of becomes words of endearment...or at least, it's set up that way.

description

The thing about Kel is that he really acts like a teenage with A.D.D. trying to be a grown up. It certainly doesn't help that he is only twenty years old. A lot of what he says and does was over the top and seemed to be more for shock value than anything else.

Something did happen to Kel and he has a right to be angry but it was hard finding out what that was. I think the only redeeming part of the book for me was I curious enough to keep reading to try and find the answer.

The biggest problem was the book's lack of cohesiveness. There was no glue holding all these things together...well, maybe a little glue. But it felt confusing and unfocused most of the time.

The beginning was...interesting. I think if somehow the author had focused more on that...and that Kel, the story would have played out better.

Sleeves…. Sleeves….

Wow.

Dirty mouth… dirty, dirty, hard, harsh mouth with a big cock that likes it hard… My kinda man!!!! I’m just going to go drool in the corner here, m’kay?

I edited this, so I may be biased and a bit of a conflict of interest, but I admit to dropping everything when she sent me new chapters because I couldn’t wait to read what was next!

Kel from Sleeves

Kel

Okay, first off Kel has got one of the crudest mouths I’ve ever read, and he is unapologetic about it. He’s a vulgar asshole. There’s your warning. Then again, he doesn’t know the first thing about social norms, so why should he care about those?

From the beginning there is something off and not quite right with Kel. You get the “he’s dangerous” vibe along with a dampening of panties as you read about him. He’s off the hook, but that is just one of the many things that draw you in to him. He’s mysterious, and it’s obvious he’s suffered.

Memories haunt him, and he thinks himself a monster. He doesn't know why he's different, just knows he was experimented on.

Sleeves

The touch of another is very painful, but he needs it at the same time, which is why he invented this club of his. It gives him what he needs to survive and a way to make money.

Sleeves

“No one ever comes to the club and actually talks to me, let alone touches me like I’m a person”
Because you make it that way you sexy, yummy beast! You exude “come get my dick!” Most women aren’t thinking about intelligent conversation with a guy chained to a cage who’s growling and thrusting his hips and hard cock… Just saying…

Casey Sleeves

Casey - a.k.a. Know-it-all-bitch or Bitch for short.
Casey is anything but a bitch, but that doesn’t stop Kel from calling her one. She can be sassy and teasing which can bring out the name, I suppose, but like I said – Kel’s not one for social norms.

From the beginning you can tell Casey is serious about her work. She has a big heart, and only wants to help Kel. She’ll do anything, including giving him a blowjob… not that it’s a hardship for her – she’s very attracted to him.

Kel is an intense being, and so are his emotions and how they come out. He doesn’t really have a filter on anything.

The first few chapters are a rollercoaster ride of questions and confusion and some in your face WTF is going on, but that all leads you into the face paced sci-fi romance you can’t stop reading. And did I mention the sex scenes? Hooooot!!!

Um...what did I just read!?

I don't even know where to begin with explaining exactly how weird this book was...

***Review might contain spoilers.***

The first problem I had with it was the fact that the storyline was seriously lacking in consistency and just general making sense. The whole concept of Kel owning a club where woman can come admire him in all his naked glory and then try to free him from his cage was just too weird for words. The way those women were acting and even willing to stand in line for hours and pay hundreds of dollars in hopes of being allowed to touch or even catch a glimpse of had me rolling my eyes multiple times at how unrealistic that whole situation was.

Then there's the main guy himself, Kel, who acts like a toddler throwing a tantrum whenever he doesn't get what he wants. A "silverback gorilla on crack" is how Casey called him and well, that about sums him up perfectly. Also, the fact that he calls her a know-it-all bitch all the time and then insults her whenever she does something he doesn't like, really annoyed me. I'm perfectly fine with dirty talk inside the bedroom but the way he was calling her just did not appeal to me at all.

And well, the whole "science fiction" aspect with the facility and superpower serums made the whole story even more unrealistic.

So, overall this book was just not for me. Maybe others would enjoy it much more, but for me it just wasn't my thing. It left me feeling exhausted and ready for some good old fashioned NA romance. ;)

This. Book.
Oh, my.
I don't know if I have words.
I don't know if I even understand what the fuck passes for a plot in this book :/

Seriously.

This shit was all over the place.

Crude caveman with the soul of a crybaby for an H, slightly "touched" TSTL h, insta-love so quick it'll give you whiplash, secret labs creating some kind of superhumans, FBI agents investigating but not closing in after 2 years, bizarre sexual touching and strip clubs, barrio encounters with men driving Bentley SUVs and giving out rolls of $100s, unexpected toddlers, social workers and mental health facilities, raw and dirty sex, homophobia, MacGyver-esque surgery, super-soldier mamas, bizarre logic that leads to more convoluted plot?!?!?!?

And the writing...

Help!!!

I don't even know how to rate this.
3 stars for concept???
2 stars for steam???
1 star for execution???
1 star for writing (too kind?)???
0 stars for its cheestasticness???
0 stars for dialogue???

This had some BAD dialogue. OMG...the scene @ 75% where H and his mom meet???My brain will never recover from that dialogue.

I think I should get a gold star for reading this shit. Or at least a tumbler (or two) of Woodford.

DNF 80%...I just couldn't any more.

The WORST quote ever:
"She arched her back each time his meatus hit that spot."
--what the fuck is a "meatus"...and do I want to really want to know??

SG Ladies...I think this is a pass for you. There's a 2 week break between H/h where the H goes crazy with the need for touch and still works his cage...meaning OW touch his body, but NO SEX.

If ever there was a book that could be described as bi-polar, it would be this fucking train wreck.

I honestly don't even know where to start with this. Sleeves was hands down, far and flipping away the weirdest, most insane hot mess of a book I have ever come across

It would be pointless for me to try and explain the plot to you. Mainly because I *still* don't understand it myself. I will say that even though it was confusing, ridiculous and about as un-sexy as you can get with a 'romance'...it kept me reading. Mainly so I could see how the hell it all turned out in the end.

The main character...Mr Cage Man as i referred to him in my head while reading...is probably the most messed up, deeply disturbed leading man I have read about in quite a while. Including Nathan from the Breach series (btw, the author of Breach, K.I. Lynn, is one of the editors of this book. Make of that what you will.). I realize that Lowell 'explains' the reason behind his...eccentricities, but it doesn't change the fact that he is still one helluva twisted whackadoo.

And then we have Casey. The female lead....who accepts all of Cage Man's insanity with a smile on her face. Never questions that he might have a few screws loose. Never bats an eye. That right there makes her even more creepy than Baby Hulk (another one of my nicknames for Cage Man).

Again, I usually avoid writing negative reviews. And I realize some people have read and enjoyed this book, and more power to them. This was just...not for me.

You know the book is weird when the main hero charges women on a club to put sleeves on his penis and jerk him off while he is chained on the wall inside a cell. But even after this image, i had something else in my mind. I should have known BETTER though!

For most of the book i had the same expression in my face! Dread and panic, repeat dread and panic. Weirder and weirder things kept happening and the end wasn't near enough..

But i was only in the first third! The craziest plot line ever has yet to come upon me.. Because around the 40% mark things became worse. You see Kel is an experiment, and the dimented ex -he thought he killed her and their baby- which is a scientist(?) takes him back in the facility along with his new love interest Casey!

And finding out the truth after that, God it was painful! You see he has a kid and his mother is also in the same facility he escaped and he has super powers and he eats metal barbs to shred his stomach and let him out of another cage. But he wants Casey with him and they escape again..ok Enough!

And finally i really don't want to talk about the most disturbing scene in the entire book! The nightmare with the baby! It was a thriller full on details of the most disquisting sex scene I ever read. I couldn't stop my gag reflex at a point.

ALL IN ALL: I can't explain the story because it's so weird and all over the place.. But the main message is the following.

THOUGHTS ABOUT THE BOOK

- The beggining was interesting.
- They were calling the boy peanut!
- Kel is so vulgar, ugh!
- She kept calling him sweet man! I wanna vomit.
- The poor little boy.. His son.. I felt so bad about everything that happened to him..
- He hurts everytime a woman touches him..
- Was his memory erased? REALLY? He seemed to remember quite a lot..
- He wouldn't stop whining!
- I like some of the sex.
- Also some sentimental scenes.

3.5 stars from me

~~ Sent to me by Chanse for an honest review ~~

First off this may well be a five star read for those that love sci-fi erotica. For me though the first 15% was a WTF experience - I pretty much didn't have a clue what the point was or what was going on. It was only my determination not to have a DNF book this year that got me through it.

All I could see as a reader was this alpha male in a cage, in a club, trying to escape chains whilst getting hand-jobs by 'fans'. His major emotional issues about being touched and burning when he was, left me confused, he abusively talked at women, as opposed to dirty talking to them and then something about sleeves (condoms? - never heard them called that before)so was the club named slang for condoms then??
- honestly it was making no sense.

If ever a book needed a prologue this is it. Something that got me to the point of at least knowing why all this was happening, before it was too late.

So, for me it's 3.5 stars even when the dirty talking really got going, I just felt that I wanted to get the book over with, (I was done with him) it just wasn't my cup of tea - I'll definitely read more of Chanse's books - perhaps not the sci-fi based ones though!

Sleeves...

Oh, Sleeves, what shall I say about you that people don't already know from my erratic updates?

Well, lets see.

The book is labelled sci-fi erotica?

First off, just because you set a book in the not so distant future and add some human experimentation does not mean you get to call your book sci-fi. I was raised on good old fashioned tried and true sci-fi like Star Trek, Bladerunner, Alien, Star Wars, and anything else you can think up that's this side of totally nerdy. I felt like the author insulted my intelligence quite a few times by writing herself into a wall, and backing out of it by saying "They erased my memory." You know buddy, you sure do remember a whole lot of an erased memory.

The book spent 50% making the reader go ......

No I'm series, if my brain could form ......

That is what would be in there the first 50%, first off I can take a totally Alpha caveman home, wrap him up with my naked body, and cuddle him for days! But Kel was something--else? He spent 90% of the book breaking down in tears. Ok, Alpha males don't cry. I don't care how bad you are tortured, or messed up your situation is, you handle it. I could understand him giving way to frustration ONCE, allowing his inevitable pity party to rain down on him, then suck it up and get moving. The dude had a secret agency after him because they made him a super soldier and he--cries? I wanted to cry too at how utterly ridiculous this was! He wasn't very nice the first 50% of the book. Literally he was a mean dude and our heroine was smitten and in love ready to drop the rest of her uterus for him after just looking at him.

I can handle insta-love to a point but this shot all credibility out the window.

But like I said the mess that was the first 50% was slightly redeemed once every single character in the book suddenly had a lobotomy and got new personalities. The crappy way Kel treated Casey the first half of the book was explained away by his struggle with being experimented on and then joked about the rest of the book. The author gives us some answers but for a sci-fi world did not world building around them for the reader so we were left with a very grey world that I was just making up on my own with flying cars and hover boards.

I never felt for the two leads enough to laugh or cry with them, and that's a problem. If I'm not engaged enough for them to ultimately 'win' then what is the point? I don't like being treated like a fool when I read a book, like you can just tell me its the year 2023 and things are happening and Kel is super smart cause tar was injected into him. The book should have began with a substantial prelude that drew the reader into Kel's mind in the facility give us a good few months of his background, engage us make us feel good and sorry for him, then hit us with Chapter one and this strange club set up. I'm not saying the story didn't have potential for greatness, it was there, there just were honest beta readers, or the author wasn't listening to her about her plot and flow.

On a positive note, the author is really good at writing the smexy, and based on how quick their encounter happened, I believe the author had her eye on that prize way more than actually constructing a plot I could believe.

I would in the future like to try another book by this author, she has solid writing as a whole, I just think I might have grabbed the wrong book and my expectations were too high.

This is a very intriguing journey into the world of science fiction and erotica. A very well written blend of both genres. I loved the characters, sometimes you wanted to just beat some sense into some of them but it just encouraged me to keep reading. Whenever I had to put the book down, I found myself getting very frustrated with not being able to continue. I seriously look forward to more by this amazing new author.

This deserves more like 3.75 stars, but I'm rounding up to 4 because Chanse Lowell knows how to write erotica--raunchy erotica that makes you either want to hump the nearest leg available or laugh out loud at the absolute crassness of her words. I couldn't put this endearing if, at times confusing, sci fi erotica novel down. It could have been longer in length and stronger in plot, sure, but it was completely entertaining and HOT as hades.

DNF...three chapters in and had to stop. Very harsh, vulgar language from the start and explicit scenes as well, which is fine, I'm no prude, but it just didn't hook me in. The whole concept of a man in a cage at a club being fondled by a "lucky" woman of his choice wasn't what threw me off either. There's a reason he's caged and why he needs to be touched but honestly I couldn't say I was interested in finding out :(

This was on my kindle forever so I decided to finally read it and tick it off my TBR list. I hate writing super negative reviews but in this case it cannot be helped and readers need to be warned.

Characters and story = weird, messy, pointless
Storytelling skills = almost non existent, confussing
Verdict = not recommended, complete waste of time

I enjoyed the book, but it left me wanting more details and I felt like it could have been a bit more detailed when it came to the DNA mutation that Kel was infected with.

Kel is a alpha male in every sense of the word. His desire to control everything stems from a tumultuous childhood and disease/infection we're left wondering about and never gets fully explained to us.

Casey is a well developed character and we get a bit more of her background than we do Kel, at least that's how it felt to me. It's not to say we don't know a lot about him, it's just that because he's so closed off, even still a bit in the end that I'm left with more questions than answers.

There are quite a few additional minor characters that added to the desire for more information. You're left wanting more details about them as the story goes on. A few you get answers to and a few leave you wondering what happened to them.

It's packed full of intense drama and intrigue that with maybe thirty more pages I would have felt like I knew everything I wanted to know.

The lemons were extremely well written and a bit hardcore. If you're not a fan of vulgar language that borders on abusive, this book may not be for you. The underlying BDSM themes aren't too overwhelming which is mainly when the language comes into play.

Overall though, it held my interest and I did enjoy the story, I just wish there would have been more to settle my lingering curiosity. Maybe it's left the way it was for a future novel...only Chanse knows.

Kel has the most filthiest mouth EVER, f**king love it.

A lot of the book was confusing and kept me wondering what was going on. In terms of storyline, it was just very complicated. Sci-fi is not a genre that interests me, but after reading the blurb I had to have it. There's no aliens, it's not set in the future, it's more about scientific advances, if that makes sense. There is loads of intrigue - if you like suspense, complicated storylines and a lot of mystery.

Kel – filthy, desperate, crude, vulgar, animalistic, non-filtered and unashamed asshole. He hasn't a clue what's normal, child-like in many ways, he can't stand to be touched, it hurts, and at the same time desperately craves it. Haunted by memories, feeling like a monster, hating himself, he's been experimented on. He's totally messed-up.

Casey – his saviour. Sweet, honest, sassy, witty, girl-next-door, social worker with a big heart. She'll do anything to help the sweet broken man she sees. And I mean, ANYTHING.

Now, I suggest you only read this if you can stick through the first 20-30% which makes you wonder WTF is going on. The sex filthy scenes and crude dirty talk totally make this book a 4 star read for me.

I DON'T KNOW WHAT TO WRITE?
Which shelf to put this one... and should I put it in "could be better", no. Why? If it were better maybe I would discover or understand it sooner. What I didn't like about this book was the fact, I didn't understand the situation, at all! What, why, who and how. Still I navigated through this book quite easily.
And he was definitely a filthy mouth and some kind of pervert for only one person. Still, it was okay.
So it was a good book, maybe making it with a little more information would help me out a bit.
Also, it was an enjoyable adventure, I wasn't in scifi nor paranomal, definitely BSDM in a weird club.

Sleeves pulls you in from the first two pages, encompassing you into the world that Chanse has created, and will have you reading till you find the answers to all the questions that the characters have. Prepare to fan yourself for the steamy love scenes, as well as a cold shower or two might be needed once you read the witty banter between the two main characters, Kel and Casey. Then when you think you have a handle on the storyline, buckle in and hold on tight, the roller coaster is just starting.

Amazing story, thrilling plot, in this story u can find trust, betrayal, loyalty, good erotic scenes, suspense but the most important of all love, Kel and Casey were meant to be together, they save each others, Kel was lead to believe a lot of awful stuff about himself, he was misguided but Casey helped him see what an amazing human being he is (was), his love for peanut, well just amazing, it's easy to love Kel. Thanks Chance for the privilege of being one of ur ARC readers for this exiting story, thumbs up my friend!!!

This book wasn't for me. I like dark dirty hard core books. This book was all over the place, nothing made it stick together. Even after reading the ending I sat back with all sorts of questions and contradictions. And the name calling was just over the top. I love me some pillow talk, but the way he was spitting it out almost made it sound like he was angry all the time. Na, this book did nothing for me. Sorry, I always hate giving a low rating on a book.

A previous review referred to this book as a 'Hot Mess.' And while Hot Mess isn't a phrase that I've ever found myself tempted to use, I find it describes this book aptly. It's not that it's necessarily a bad book, it's not, it's just all over the place and full of holes the reader has to overlook to enjoy the story. They are overlookable, but it would be a little ridiculous to pretend they aren't there.

To start with and probably most importantly, it's never said but I'm gonna have to assume that Casey has some sort of preternatural power of super-empathy, because nothing in the book makes any sense otherwise. If she doesn't then she just fell in love with a man who, in their single 30 minute interaction, forced her to jack him off in front of a crowd while calling her a slut, bitch, whore, cunt, and probably more I've forgotten. She in turn told him he was a beautiful, sweet man. (WTF!?) So unless she can magically see through his shit, to his kernel of true-self she is either really, really stupid or masochistic.

What's more, her main strength seems to be in her ability to accept any verbal abuse thrown at her with aplomb and willingly offer up, "anything you need, baby." Now, I get that this is supposed to show how much she loves Kel and maybe how brave she is. But what it mostly says to me is that she must be one of those women who is so desperate for a man that she will do, become and take anything without complaint. It makes me wonder if she really has any sense of self herself. And while we kind of find out what warped Kel (and I say kind of because it's not a complete explanation) we don't really find out what whacked Casey out. Which suggests that we're not supposed to see her behaviour as inappropriate. (WTF!?) We do get a little of her sob story, but I couldn't see how it would result in her willingness to accept Kel's shit (and it is shit) so openly.

I did really like her ability to banter though. She didn't have Kel's foul language, but she had no problem slinging a one-shot back at him on occasion. This verbal sparring between the two of them was by far the best part of the book. And it's good.

Kel in turn swung wildly from angst, clingy teenager to angry, dangerous alpha man with a tenuous grasp on sanity and back again, over and over. Now I'll give you that when he was in his charming, boyish charm phase he was about as cute as they come. In these moments I really loved him. I even kinda liked his weird clingy, needy side. It was creepy as hell, but still kinda cute. Unfortunately his angry instability was truly scary and his inability to go two sentences without calling Casey some foul name often curled my toes...and not in a good way.

The thing is though, even though his language was deplorable and Casey didn't deserve to be called all the names she did, it generally just boiled down to a whole heck of a lot of dirty talk. Because the actual sex was pretty clean. It never actually crossed into abusive, as his verbal description would suggest. Plus, even as he was playing Mr. Dominance he never failed to worship her and be honest about how much he needed/wanted her, which made it quite obvious that all of the mastery he held in their sexual relation was given to him by her. I found this dynamic damned sexy.

This book is in desperate need of a little world building. It's set in 2023, so I accept that there should have been some social evolution and scientific advancements. But the reader isn't ever told what these might be. Everyone did seem to accept the whole 'a secret organisation experimented on me and is currently hunting me' with awe-inspiring ease. Not a single person raised an eyebrow at the fact that Kel had some strange sensory issue going on and apparently displayed regular feats of strength on stage, not to mention some truly horrific social skills.

I also have to wonder if another thing that isn't said, but must be true, is that people are...I don't know, educated in their sleep or something. I mean Kel was apparently kept in a cage with a filthy, blood stained mattress and little else. So if his basic hygiene wasn't worth taking into consideration I can't imagine his education was either. But somehow he was a genius--able to create mysterious genetic cures and micro technologies. How did he learn these skills?

I think the best way to describe this book is what happily ever after would look like if two damaged nymphomaniacs found each-other. The actual sic-fi aspect of the story is a...well, a Hot Mess. It's never explained what the secret organisation was actually trying to accomplish with Kel, for example, or what the mysterious 'serum' does to a person, or how the cure reverses it, or why Kel needs touch, or what will happen if he goes without it, or why it hurts, or why he treats women so badly. But the sex is a lot of fun, and for all their many faults, Kel and Casey are too.

ARC received for honest review

“Casey, you have to come,” her friend, Jana said, tugging on her arm as they walked
through the parking lot after work.
“No thanks,” Casey replied, sighing as the warm air hit her from the outside,
melting the chill away from her cold office.
What was the big deal? Why did they keep hounding her about this particular
club?
“Oh my God! You’re not honestly scared of this, are you?” Jana stared at her with
her baby-blues like Casey was being ridiculous and then she tightened her ponytail,
making sure her sandy blonde hair looked flawless as usual.
“No—why would I be?” Casey’s forehead creased and she turned away. “I’m just
tired. It was a shitty day at work, that’s all.”
“This man has a monster cock, and he lets the women touch it and play with it,”
Maddie said, fanning herself. “We have to sign something before they even let us into
the club.”
“Fine. One drink, but that’s it. And I’m not touching that man.”

And after that night, Casey’s life would never be the same again. As a lifelong fan of science fiction, I found this story to be very intriguing. We follow Kel as he tries to break free of a past he’s hiding from when he meets Casey that fateful night in his club. None of their lives will ever be the same again. We are taken on a ride of sexual pleasure as well as character torture and discovery all at the same time in this story. Despite Casey’s determination to not have anything to do with Kel, she finds herself on stage in his cage and she is immediately drawn to him. But she sees something in him where every other woman only sees a sexual prize.

As we learn more about Kel’s past we end up with more questions that are needing answers. And the journey the author takes us on to discover those answers, is filled with twists and turns, potholes, ups and downs, starts and stops. It is a journey that is only for those 18 and over. If you love a good mystery that is a touch fantastical and yet scarily plausible in this age of gene exploration laced with amazing eroticism, then this is definitely the book for you.

I am not sure where to start with this book at the end of the day it left me generally confused and wanting something else. I will say that I did like the potential premise of the book. I really think there is something here, but the story wasn’t developed enough for me to go anywhere. I was left with too many questions. The larger plot jumped too much leaving many unanswered questions (without trying to spoil the plot) who were they, why Marie, what was max’s involvement (that plot died for me). I feel like perhaps Chanse could have done more to develop or share with us the backstory and what was happening in this world. It would have helped me at least. Ultimately, this is where the story struggled the most making it difficult to finish.

The main character Kel and Casey… hmm these were difficult for me too. It was as if 48 hours after meeting and I can’t live with out you, I love you etc… touch me or I will die. Now I can’t say that kind of all consuming passion for someone can’t happen, or doesn’t happen in stories, but I didn’t see if for these two. The build for them didn’t work in my opinion. It was I hate you (like loathing) then we are attached and I can’t be without you. More was needed here for it to be believable something to help tie that in besides sex. Casey is a smart compassionate women, it didn’t seem that her motivation would be sex driven and to help him. Why was she driven to help him? He was kind of creepy/crazy when she initially met him. Obviously, she cared in the beginning but Why? Again, I think the plot structure hurt this and it never went back to answer this question.

Last review comment there is crude language but I found it often misplaced and ultimately awkward. The language didn’t seem to flow with the story as it was sporadic and didn’t do anything to progress the plot.

An earlier reviewer mentioned a need for a prologue, I couldn’t agree more. However, if future readers read these reviews then they should know what to expect and be prepared. It’s a unique premise, but just ended up not being for me. I did receive an early copy and was asked for an honest review.

I received an ARC from the author for the purpose of an honest review for GoodReads.

Although I had a rough start with the book and had a hard time getting into it, when I did get to the end, I was happy to say that I enjoyed the book. It wasn't a book that I would choose based of the summary or even the cover, but it would be the type of book that I would read based off of a friend recommendation. The summary had me to believe that it was closer to one genre than the one that it was. I may have overlooked this book due to the summary but I enjoyed reading it and was happy with the final product.

While the male lead didn't "click" with me, his portrayal in the story was well written. Kel followed the alpha male type, I just couldn't find myself finding anything attractive about his character. Where I found myself enjoying how Casey was written and portrayed, with Kel, there were times I really felt like he could have been killed off and another male taken his place and I would have been indifferent to losing him. I think that the author wrote him well with where she wanted the character to be, but I just couldn't connect with him. Casey, on the other hand, I enjoyed tremendously. And there were times in the book where I almost felt that she was carrying Kel through to the end. Their banter was enjoyable, their sex scenes were written very well and the writer gave them a solid, good ending.

There were some points/plotlines to the story that lacked story time and/or further explanation, but I walked away from the book feeling like I read a complete book, instead of having to wait for the next installment, which is becoming a trend in the eBook stores.

If your up for a sci/fi-erotica then this is your kinda book. For me,it took me a bit to get into this weird & different book. I almost didn't finish this book, but it keeps making you wonder what is going to happen next, so I finished it, I was glad I did.

If you like alpha males in a cage that, has a big dick, wears sleeves, and likes a hand jobs, then this is for you. Kel's very sensitive to touch, until he meets a girl named Casey, all that sensitivity soon eases off with her. This story not only has alot of sex, but it's hard, rough sex, and lots of it. He also has some weird stuff going on with him that makes you want to find out more. The end of the story really tells all of what you wonder about throughout the story, so if you hang with it till the end you will learn what has been going on.

Not much to like about this story. Kel is crude, very alpha in the worst way, with a filthy mouth not in a sexy way. He calls Casey slut and bitch constantly. He works at a club catering to women, he should have more respect for his meal ticket. Casey takes all his crap and calls him sweet. She sees the pain and lonelyness inside him, I don't know where she got that impression. The relationship baffled me and when Kel's past catches up with him, I didn't care what happened to the characters.

Not sure why this one has such a low rating...I really enjoyed it! I do see what some reviewers meant about being confused in the beginning, but I was definitely intrigued enough to keep reading, and all my questions were eventually answered. It was an interesting and verrrry sexy story, not quite like anything I've ever read before. And oh, I adored Kel's filthy mouth. I am a sucker for a grumpy, broken hero and he definitely delivered with a side of dirty talk. Casey was also a great heroine, caring, strong, and open minded. This was a fun, filthy, and at times heartbreaking adventure.
