This third book in the 'Track Domination' series is just as much fun as he first two. After seeing crew chief Adam and driver Will figure out they belong together, followed by mechanic Sam and the team's owner, Collin, hashing things out, it is now merchandising mastermind Royce and wild driver Ethan's turn. They have been attracted to each other from the first time they met, but each of them has major reservations about a relationship. Royce isn’t sure Ethan is reliable and stable enough and Ethan doesn’t know if the even wants to settle down with just one man.

Megan Slayer's racing series continues with another hot and heavy read where opposites attract. Ethan is the new racer in town trying to earn a permanent spot on his team. He's brash and has a devil-may-care attitude where he revels in being the bad boy. While this wildness might earn him fans it leaves the race owner frustrated and giving him an ultimatum to get himself together. He's desperate to keep racing and is willing to use unconventional means to be a better racer. After meeting Royce, the man slated to help him, he wants to be a better man too as he finds himself attracted to the older man.
Royce has been hurt by love before and is leery of it now. He finds himself immensely attracted to Ethan though against his better judgement as Ethan is all about fun and being wild, whereas Royce enjoys the quiet and finer things in life. He's attracted to the hints of submission the young man displays as he's missed flexing his Dom muscles. Knowing that Ethan needs to learn control has them engaging in numerous BDSM interludes that are sweat-inducing but bring them closer together as the lines between true affection and lust begin to blur.
The super steamy BDSM scenes are frequent and take over the story at times. The language is raw and the play intense but I still found myself eagerly turning the pages. Ethan starts off the story as the more immature of the two, more playful, and more likely to say exactly what he's thinking. You see Ethan gain more control and become more mature as the story progresses and as he becomes the man Royce wants it's up to him to take what Ethan so endearingly offers. Royce doesn't want to be Ethan's keeper though, he wants more. He wants an equal and it's a race to the finish to see if he crosses the finish line to a HEA. While the character development wasn't as fully fleshed-out as I'd hoped I still found the characters enjoyable and the story satisfying and look forward to more stories set in this world.
Slayer is a good storyteller with characters that are easy to like. I've felt the way with all of her books and this one is no exception.
That said, I'm starting to feel like each story is identical to the last with a few names and minor details changed. Yes,I realize the story is about race car drivers and those workign in this industry so there are going to be similar settings, but the characters are starting to bleed together for me.
In every story, we have a dominant who happens to find his sub. The trained or experienced dom takes the green sub under his wing and helps him explore his kinks as a means of relieving stress to be better at his job. This is the same plot that is in the fifth book of the series.
The saving grace of these stories are the fact that the author is a good writer who seems to know her stuff when it comes to the racing community. Readers believe her story and like her characters but they're too easy to forget. It was for that reason I only felt like I could leave a three star review.
