Using an engaging narrative style, this new introductory text reveals the forces that drive the industry while at the same time motivating students to exercise critical skills as consumers of media. Students are encouraged to think about the media industry from the inside out and in so doing explore the many dimensions of mass communication that operate in our society.
We video chatted with the author and I'm glad he agreed that the book is constantly being outdated due to our rapid intake of knowledge. I did appreciate how modern and somewhat inclusive it was. I'm also interested to see how the content could change with such big changes have occurred in politics, big companies and net neutrality.
