I didn’t want to cry. For once in my life, tears evaded me. Perhaps because I refused to grieve this loss, because it wasn’t a loss in my eyes, in my heart. It was a call for war, yes. But not a loss. I wouldn’t allow it.
Besides, I was too mad to cry, even in my exhaustion, and anger would get me much further.
As I curled my body around Sasha’s, though, I realized the anger within me had changed. I no longer felt irrational and blinding fury that dulled all other emotions. But that was okay. I really didn’t want to be Psycho Alexis. This, what I now felt in every cell of my body down to the core, was better. My anger had condensed and solidified into a cold, hard stone settling within me. Something I could control and hold onto for the long term to keep me going and focused on the goal.
Wrath.
That’s what I felt. And there was nothing worse than the wrath of a pissed-off mother.
Wrath, the fifth volume in the bestselling, award-winning Soul Savers Series, will have you on the edge-of-your-seat-ravenously-devouring-junk-food as you experience the mysteries, magic, betrayals, and passion that you’ve come to expect from Kristie Cook’s writing.
Kristie Cook is a lifelong writer in various genres, from marketing communications to fantasy fiction. Besides writing, she enjoys reading, cooking, traveling and being magical. She has lived in ten states, but currently calls Southwest Florida home with her puggle. She can be found at www.KristieCook.com.
Dear fellow readers, my precious co-fangirls, you are probably living your life unaware. There is a series out there, that will awaken your heart, make it race in excitement, break it and then, mend it back together stronger all over again. If you haven't read the Soul Savers Series then you are missing an exciting read.
I am 5 books late to start writing reviews for these books. I don't think I can't do them justice. As you can see from my shelving attempt, I can't even label them right. Because they are about everything. Religion, love, relationship, friendship, motherhood, saving the world, kickass and badass and fantasy at that.
In this latest installment, a mother's Wrath will be the catalyst to world-altering events. I dare you to try reading this book with dry eyes and your normal breathing.... Emotional, mindfucking and yes there is Tristan, so definitely sexy, this book pulled me right in the Amadis Universe and made me crave and kinda dread the big finale!
On a whole other note... Tristan...
That's all my awesome friends! Start the Soul Savers Series, NOW!
O.M.G. Kristie Cook you have absolutely blown me away, out of this Universe and into the next Realm! I don't even know how to put this review into words, as I am speechless (and that rarely happens). I have trouble forming the right words, therefore I am not the best at writing reviews, so I hope this will suffice. I have been a HUGE fan ever since I read Promise (Book 1). Even back then, I thought, how could this story possibly get any better?! She just keeps proving me wrong each and every time. By the time I got through Power (Book 4), I was absolutely positive she would not be able to one-up that, and once again she showed me exactly what she could do! This book took me on the most intense emotional roller coaster I have ever experienced! It is packed with so much action, suspense, humor, mystery, love, admiration, loyalty, grief...and the list goes on and on. The story is so well thought out, imaginative, and beautifully written. Kristie is a genius storyteller, and her words flow perfectly. It will keep you on the edge of your seat all through out. Alexis has come such a long way since book one, and I am so proud of the woman she has become. She is the strongest, most powerful daughter the Amadis has ever seen, even more so than Cassandra, the first daughter. She is the epitome of bad-ass female heroines. Tristan is her second, her equal. He also is the epitome of bad-ass male hero's. Together they are a force to be reckoned with! This book is based on a mother's wrath, and as the saying goes, The most dangerous place in this world is between a mother and her child. Alexis will show you exactly what that means! By the time you get to the end of this book, you will have already gone through a turmoil of emotions, and, well, she saved the best for last! All I can say is that you will need at least a couple BOXES of tissues! Be prepared for the kind of grief that will leave you laying in the fetal position in a dark room for days! I can't even think of starting a new book right now because my mind and my heart are with Alexis, Tristan, Dorian, and all of the Amadis. I'm hoping to recover eventually! Then to top that off, she once again leaves you hanging with one of her notorious cliffhangers! This book is most definitely of EPIC proportions!! I don't know how I will find the patience to wait for book 6, but I know I'm ready right now!! I won't even challenge you to one-up this one, because as impossible as it seems, I know you will show me up again!
It seems like I have waited a lifetime for this book! And now I've read it, I can honestly say it was worth the wait! Kristie has outdone herself! I can't recommend this book enough!!! :) WOW!

I am not sure how Author Kristie Cook does it but she does. Book 5 in the Soul Savers series, Wrath does not disappoint. If you are not up to date with Tristan, Alexis, the Amadis and the Daemoni, I suggest you go buy Promise, Purpose, Genesis (Novella), Devotion and Power and then read Wrath. The world that Kristie Cook has created with the Amadis (the good guys so to speak) and the Daemoni (the bad guys so to speak) is simply amazing. This book is a page turner and you cannot wait to find out what happens next. This book was so full of action and nothing is ever predictable with Author Kristie Cook. She keeps you hanging on each and every word to the very end.
Now tell me...are you Team Amadis or Team Daemoni?? Which do you think I am??
Please note: i kept this review short because after 4 full books, it is VERY hard to not give spoilers in a review. I never write spoilers so hopefully this is enough to pique your interest. Enjoy reading
Okay, so I've ready all the books in this series and this was probably my least favorite. It seemed to just kind of plod along without no real peaks and valleys and then just ended. In addition all the usually vibrant characters all felt a little flat. Looks like there will be another one, which is good, but this one felt like filler. Too many things were resolved too quickly without enough build up. I still like the series and the author so I will read the next one, but am hoping for something a little more exciting. As a side note I have tried now twice to read Ms. Cook's new book "The Space Between" and have stopped about 1/4 way in both times. It's very different from her Soul Savers series and it just didn't have the hook I was looking for and when I finely felt a little investment in the characters the POV changes to two completely new characters, I just couldn't do it.
I didn't think this book was as good as the first four but it was still good. It appears there will be another book after this which is a little frustrating. When I started this series it was portrayed as a trilogy but here I am after waiting months on book four & five waiting again on book six - luckily I love the characters & the author!!
What I do like is that the years are spoken of in these books. The first book starts off with Alexis being 18 or 19, and it ends with her being a new and unfortunately single mom due to Tristian’s disappearance. In the second book, she’s about 26 years old. As each book moves forward, so does her age. I believe in this book, her son has a birthday where he turns 9, so Alexis would be about 28 years old. Of course, I did enjoy reading Alexis and Tristian’s love story, but it’s beginning to get lost in the shuffle. Book one will have you breathless with how much he loves Alexis, which is what sucked me in to begin with.
What I didn’t like: Sometimes I wonder how big and powerful the Amadis are. If everyone is stretched so thin, but the Daemoni are many and are continuing to grow, then what is to be done about the chaos that seems to have no end. I understand that the Amadis are the good guys, but I’m frustrated that they don’t kill or at least have the ability to banish the bad guys who have no interest in converting to hell. Some of the Daemoni need to be handled with in this way. I get it, if they can be saved, save them, but sheesh.
Spending several, really way too many chapters trying to come up with a plan to find Dorian, Owen, and Kali, then beginning to execute that plan, all to have those plans halted was unnecessary. I’m fine with a really good book with fewer pages. No need to stretch it with repetitive dialogue said in a different way about the same thing.
Although it had already been said several times who took Dorian, Alexis continued to wonder who took Dorian. I think the most frustrating thing about this book was that it didn’t truly get good until about 75 maybe 80% of the way. That’s more than half the book. I started glancing at the dialogue while quickly moving through chapters to get it over with. It ended with another cliffhanger that will leave you wanting to know how Alexis is going to handle everything now, but I’m really not sure I’m interested anymore. 3 books could have told this story perfectly.
Wrath is the fifth book in the award winning Soul Savers series and Kristie Cook has definitely came up trumps with Wrath and I think it's the best so far.
Wrath will have you on the end of your seat as your go through passion, sadness, love, loss and happiness.
Will Alexis and Tristan get Dorian back, will Owen still side with the Daemoni ?
This book will keep you satisfied with its twist and turns as the same from the previous books of the series. You will laugh with, cry with them and feel like you know them. They have heart warming moment, moments that make you cry also Alexis and Tristan have some seriously steamy moments .
This certainly is a must read but if you haven't started the series remember Promise is free and from then it will get you hooked.
Please also give her new series first a shot The Space Between definitely as good as the Soul Savers.
Series order -Promise -Purpose -Devotion -Power -Wrath
You know, books don't usually make me cry. There have been some, select few, that have made me shed tears, but not many. Wrath, the 5th book in Kristie Cook's Soul Savers series, made me cry - twice! It seems like every time I read whatever Kristie's latest book, I'm saying it's the best book she's ever written and it's the complete and total truth! This woman is incredibly talented and Wrath proves that beyond the shadow of a doubt.
Wrath picks up where Power (Soul Savers Book 4) left off. I don't want to risk accidentally giving away any spoilers but suffice it to say, this book is absolutely AMAZING!!! I loved catching up with all of these characters that now feel like some of my best friends. I laugh with them, I cry with them... a lot. This book has some of the most exciting action scenes and some of the most heart wrenching scenes I've ever read. And Tristan and Alexis have some incredibly hot moments too - phew!!!
Wrath gets 5 stars from me!! HIGHLY Recommended!! Go get this book NOW!!!
With as much as I loved book 4, I was disappointed by how much I didn't love Wrath. Although it wasn't completely unenjoyable, the story seemed to drag and I felt like smacking Alexis up side her head more than once as I read the book. I was really hoping she'd gain a bit more self control and grow out of her selfish, immature impulses by now, even with everything she's been through, but I guess not - it gets tiring to read. I'm really glad that this isn't the end of the series. I hope the 2 remaining books make up for this less-than-stellar work of Kristie Cook's. There wasn't much in the sense of peaks and valleys of emotions with Wrath, the plot seemed like it could have been condensed and even added to the end of book 4, and there really wasn't much character development to get too excited about. The plot does pick up towards the end, but the conclusion felt rushed to me. I could only give it 3 stars (if there was 2.5 stars, I would have picked that) which is really unfortunately because it's been such a great series up until Wrath.
Ok let me say I'm a huge fan of this series, but I felt this was my least favourite of the series so far. The characters chemistry didn't jump out to me like in previous books. Even Alexis and Tristan were lacking to a degree. The thing with Owen I suspected all the way through and at times I just felt frustrated like we were just going over the same thing! Alexis gets close to Dorian, then not, gets close again, then not. I get that we need some suspense but something was missing in between. I don't know if it was due the fact that all previous books I read one after the other and because of the amount of time that's lapsed between, I didn't get it. Personally I feel this was definitely what I call a 'filler in' and there is obviously more to come on this series, but I need to see more of that Alexis/Tristan chemistry to truly enjoy. Make no mistake though, I did enjoy this book, just not as much as the others.
This the second time I've had mixed feelings about this series. I really liked the turns this book took, especially the second half. But, as in the previous one, the character issues with Alexis were a little difficult for me. She continues to act immature and self-centered. Reacting to each incident in how it makes only her feel. Even after Tristan's heartfelt talk with her, she was remorseful that day, but then right back at it, surging ahead without thinking how it impacted those who loved her. I really hope she learns to lead and trust her inner circle better by the next book. There were tearful parts, but there were events I was so happy to see occur. Owen especially. All in all, I did enjoy the book and look forward to what comes next. Oh, and I really would like to have a Sasha...
Rarely has a series with this many books kept my attention. I have loved all of the books in this series and I still can't wait for more.
How far will a mother's wrath go to protect those she loves? You will have to read to find out and I promise you won't be disappointed! We meet a few new characters and there are some BIG things that happen to others. I was able to guess part of the ending, but there was more that happened that I just didn't see coming!
I do wish this book was a little longer, but mostly because I wasn't ready for it end. It did feel shorter than the others in the series.
This is the longest it's taken me to read a Soul Savers book, and I'll admit I'm more than a little disappointed with it. This fifth book in the series just didn't seem to be as interesting or captivating as the previous 4. I got really tired of Alexis and her immature petulance, goodness knows how Tristan puts up with her! I'm unsure whether the fact that I've read so many different books since reading book 4 has made me look for something more in my reading, or if this book is just not as good as its predecessors. I found it more than a little predictable, and I wish I could give it more than 3 stars as I so wanted to love it as much as the previous books.
Incredibly crafted story with a twist at every turn. Cook out does herself with each installment of this series. Her latest installment questions what length a mother would go to when looking for her child. Will Alexis hold fast to her Angel lineage and will she cross the line? As with each of the previous installments of her Soul Saver series Cook takes you along a riveting emotional roller coaster ride; building hope and breaking your heart with characters that stay with you long after the last page of the book has been turned. Undeniably the best love story out there today!
I loved the Soul Saver series, so couldn't wait for Wrath. Sadly, I didn't enjoy it. It was Anger, Distrust, Fighting, Anger, Distrust,Fighting, on and on and on. I really wanted to give up, but only as a tribute to the rest of the series I kept on reading. I love picking up a book and not putting it down until it is read. This was not one of those books. Alexis annoyed me, I couldn't feel any sympathy for her, and at times hoped she would get her ass stomped in the fighting. Gutted I have no interest now in finishing what was a great series.
What an amazing and thrilling book. So many unsuspected twists and turns, you could never say this book is predictable. The mix of characters; weres, faeries, vampires, 'Normans', Amadis verses Daemoni, along with a fantastic story line, make this a book you just don't want to put down until it's finished. THEN when it is finished you are desperate for the sequel to it. I can't recommend this book, and the whole Soul Savers series enough.
I have loved this series from the very first page, and couldn't wait to get my hands on Wrath. Any expectations I had were completely blown out of the water! Kristie Cook does twists and turns that will leave you reeling for days! I loved every minute of it! I'm not going to delve into talking about the storyline to keep from spoiling one second of awesomeness. I will just say, GET IT NOW!!
Wow! This instalment is by far the best of the Soul Savers series! Loved it! Absolutely admire Alexis growth throughout the series. She's become such a strong Amadis daughter! Kristie Cook you have done it again! This book is creative, well written and a tear jerker with unexpected twists and turns. I recommend Wrath and the Soul Savers series to everyone. It's a must read!
I think this calls for a HOLY CRAP! Talk about bringing the emotional roller coaster ride filled with action and fast paced story! I finished the book... which I have to say has one of the best couple of ending lines I think EVER and sat there stunned, not sure what the heck I had just been through.
WOW Kristie... WOW! Full review to follow for the blog tour.
Love this series. You definitely must read the full series to understand this book but it is a great progression to the storyline. Definitely showed the stress a more goes through in having a child missing. Would have liked a little more romance in this one but at the point the story had reached, romance was hard to fit in. I am hoping there is more to the story in the future.
Omg this book was amazing. I couldn't put it down and how I love Tristan and Alexis. They are an amazing couple with some kick ass powers. I sure hope there is another book. I need to know what happens with their son Dorian and if Alexis ever has anymore children. Great read with some action, adventure and romance!
ok I give this book a 100 out of 5 it was so good! I literally cried so much! but I laughed almost every single chapter. (Chapter 27!) this book was excellent. it had all the characteristics of a fantastic book! I cant wait till Cook finishes her series!
I absolutely loved this book. I cried for Lexi and Tristan the entire time. As a mother, the emotions evoked were just relentless. I'm ready for more though.
I think I may be getting sick of series. I really did not see the point of this book. I'm sure there's another one coming, with Alexis as a matriarch, but I'm gonna pass from now on.
