"For every action there is an equal or opposite reaction."

For every choice you make there are rewards,
or there are consequences.
It was my choice to walk away the first time.
And my choice to chase her the second.
But sometimes you don't get a choice,
and all you get are the consequences.

"Being deeply loved by someone gives you strength,
while loving someone deeply gives you courage.”

Unless that someone is Logan Matthews.
Because loving him didn't give me
the strength to walk away.
It didn't give me
the courage to fight for him.
And when it was over,
all it gave me was a broken heart.

For every action there is an equal or opposite reaction.

If you’ve read More Than This, you’ve met Logan (and if you haven’t read it, you really should!) I absolutely adored Logan in the first book. I can't tell you how excited I was to hear he was getting his own story. Because I loved book one so much, I was a little nervous to read the second. I have been having some issues with sequels falling flat compared to the first book of the series recently... let me tell you, that is NOT the case here! This book surpassed the first book for me. Yep, it wasn’t just as good as the first book, it was better!

Logan has fallen for someone, but its not who you think... or is it? Either way, we get a back and forth, from past to present account of their relationship. I loved the flashbacks. This girl doesn’t want to give poor Logan a shot, but you can’t really blame her. He has quite the reputation.
‘I’m trying really hard not to be the person that you think I am. I’m not that person. At least not with you.’

She really tries to stay away from Logan, but he wears her down with his irresistible charm. For the first time, Logan really feels something for someone. It’s scary, but he knows she feels it too.

 photo 182bade7-de72-4cda-ad69-85af530e77a1_zps905f7f12.jpg

She wants Logan, is ready to take that leap, but then- he screws it up.

Fast forward a year later... The two of them run into each other. The attraction is still there, the chemistry is still there, the feelings are still there. But so is the past hurt, the issues and confusion over what went wrong.

 photo a784464a-1ce3-44e8-84bd-50876d4f968c_zps932c5699.jpg

Logan did fuck up, he knows it and wants to fix it. He makes it his mission to win his girl back. He’ll do whatever needs to be done. For the first time, he will have to really work at getting a girl. Not just any girl, THE GIRL. This is the girl for him, and he will convince her to give him a second chance. The spark between them is still there and undeniable, but will she be able to trust Logan, to open up and let him in?

 photo 3d7a0571-5791-413d-92a3-5356db41bbae_zps86350d95.jpg

There were some not so easy to read parts in this book. Learning about Logan’s past broke my heart. Seriously, I cried and cried over this. You will need to pull out the Kleenex. I fell in love with another character after learning all of this, Logan Matthew’s dad. Yep. I love Logan’s dad. Such a great guy. You get a decent bit of the characters you love from the first book: Jake, Kayla, Heidi, Dylan, and my personal favorites- Lucy and Cam. I just love those two! Some of the best parts of the book were Lucy parts. I love her drunk alpha male rant!
“What the fuck, Luce?”
“Why don’t you ever go all jealous-and-hot-alpha on me?”
“Are you fucking kidding me right now?”
“Fuck you Cameron. I want that same fucking treatment. I’m gonna start chatting up assholes daily.”

Lucy and Cam have an incredible relationship and I really hope we get more from them in the future.

Being in Logan’s head was amazing. Freaking swoon. I was such a Jake fan in the first book, but Logan is just SO much better to me. I still love Jake, but, yeah... not near as much as Logan ;) Logan made me melt!

Emotional, real, hilarious, sexy, swoony and just perfect! I love books that make me feel, and even though I’m crying they can also make me laugh, smile, and swoon. This book does that. It did have some angst, but I don’t feel like it was overkill. And the growth- I love watching characters grow and evolve, and Logan definitely does that. This book is a must read. This series is a must read. A favorite of mine for sure!!!

First of all I just want to say that opening my inbox this summer and returning Jay McLean’s message for me to read More Than This was the

 photo tumblr_m6v03yqyG81rr2sj3_zpsefb67faf.gif

I TRULY LOVE THIS SERIES!!!!!

I think Jay McLean likes to make me cry..hmm.. Well I did not all out bawl like I did with MTT but I did get all misty eyed. She knows how to hit me right in the FEELS with her characters. You see, when I thought it was impossible for me…Jay made it possible….. No one will understand this comment until you read the book. HINT: it’s in reference to a character. Ha, even with the hint you still probably won't understand after reading the book, well maybe a few.

I want to make this clear, More Than Her is not More Then This part 2. More Than Her IS VERY MUCH Logan’s book. Besides the steamy angst and the recurring set of characters this book stands on its own two feet. **lays right hand over heart** And I must say, getting to know Logan is a true pleasure!

 photo tHEFIRSTDAYIMETUGIF_zps3fd7b2a1.gif

In More Than Her Jay McLean takes us from past to present in the beginning of the book so that readers can catch up on what’s really going on with Logan and his love interest. I must admit I struggled with the beginning but uhh that’s mainly because I’m a nosy chick who wanted answers like NOW. Though, I must say reading the banter between Logan and his love interest made for some good entertainment.

Somewhere between 25 and 30% you are caught up to the present and the book TAKES OFF like a rocket and when you get to the last page you will keep trying to scroll for MORE pages!!!

 photo morethanherloganpic_zps90259055.jpg

 photo morethanheramandapic_zpsc2435b70.jpg

There is a lot of push and pull filled angst with the main characters; you constantly feel the will they or won’t they because he’s chasing and she’s running. However whenever he gets close enough she has no choice but to yield. Yes, Logan is that irresistible. *wink, wink*

 photo mthcollage3FINAL1_zpsfb1a87f0.jpg

We flashback to when she and Logan first meet in his pov. And witness first hand at how he fell hard and fast with a chick that seems to not be susceptible to his charms. *Smirks* Well, at least she is not allowing him to see that she is.

Could SHE be HIS MORE…

Giving in to Logan is more like something she simply could not help, the attraction is very mutual. She acknowledges this by giving him a chance. And everything is all good..until it’s not.

Logan F’s up BIG TIME. And correcting it proves to be a task but just like in the beginning when they met she learns that Logan is still very persistent. SHUT DOWN after shut down occurs with her vehemently against giving him that second chance until FATE intervenes. Well fate and Logan’s man whore ways get his butt in trouble. When a friend of a friend helps him out Logan is once again face to face with HER.

 photo morethanhercoverpicFINAL_zps47731ddc.jpg

Ok I’m going to shut up about that and just give you my thoughts and feels now before I slip up.
You should however know that I plan to do an extended version of this review days after the release so that I may discuss the characters more freely.

My Thoughts
A-DORA-BLE these two are perfect for one another. Jay leaves no room for error when she put them together. She also does an awesome job with Logan’s character and allowing us to get to know him more. I LOVED how he defined his life by the moments and how he explained it to HER in the book.

The Writing
For this to be her second novel I thought the writing was pretty damn good. I think it's safe to say that she has a keen trait for writing Angst. But not just angst.. Has anyone else ever read a line in a book and felt like it cut you and you jump back from the physical pain of it? That is exactly what happened to me as I read a certain scene.

This book was filled with some great moments. Hard hitting moments, EXPLOSIVE moments. Moments that make you take an extra gulp of air before moving on to the next sentence. There is this one scene where Logan is watching something happen..he takes it in and immediately reacts. **Snaps finger** And just like that with 5 words I was all misty eyed.

I gave this book 5 STARS because I LOVED IT!! Not only did I get teary eyed, I also laughed - A LOT, had a change of heart and fell for a chick. What? It happens, lol!
McLean likes to tease you with her secondary characters, giving just enough to leave you wanting so much more and it’s a good thing she plans to deliver.
Now I need the next book ASAP!

My Ratings
Characters- Lovable
Writing Style- Will hit you right in the feels
Plot/Storyline- A young guy meets 'the one' and finds that catching and keeping her is proving to be the fight of his life
Steam Factor- Medium/Steamy on a scale of 1-10 I say 7.5
Overall- I LOVE LOVE LOVED IT!!!!!

Now go forth and read. Then come tell us about it on Goodreads!

11/19/13 EDIT 2.0: Remember guys, time heals all, well, most wounds. <-- in response to cliffy ending.

11/19/13 EDIT: 2 questions I see consistently regarding this book are cheating and the ending. Here it is:

Ciffhanger?

Cheating?

5+ stars!!!

description

GAHHHHHHH!!!!! This book nailed ALL my emotions!!! Jeez it was 7:30 in the morning when I finished but DAMN this book is that amazing. I thought More Than This was awesome enough, but this second book BLASTED my expectations out of the ballpark!!!

description

I know the ending of the first book left all of us wondering who Logan was crushing on. Don't fret! Don't tear your hair out guessing because Jay delivers a most satisfying answer. My advice would be to re-read that last part in MTT and think again about what Logan is really saying. *wink* I must say that though this book has plenty of scenes with Jake, Micky, and the gang, this is truly Logan's story. His past is dark, painful, and heartbreaking to read about, and coupled with her past experiences, this book is bound to stir your emotions so make sure you bring out the tissues!!

I honestly can't review this story without giving away who the heroine is or blurt out certain plot twists so I'm going to do a gif review. Just a heads up.

When I first started reading, I was nervous and excited to see who this girl was. When I got to that part, the very first thing that popped into my mind was:

description

Best.answer.ever. So now that I knew, it immediately left me wondering, well how the hell are they going to work their relationship out?!

description

But no worries! Everything ties in quite nicely, and plenty of scenes had me doubling over with laughter!! Here, this is what I mean:

At 21%

description

At 30%

description

At 36%

description

^^Gahhhh!! OMG this scene bahahahaha!! Blue balls alert!!! ^_^

At 48%

description

^^Perfect demonstration of a whipped Logan *grin*

At 61%

description

^^Logan's jealousy in this situation is flippin' hilarious!! I just love these secondary characters *sigh*

At 75%

description

^^Cam + Lucy (drunk or not drunk) = EPIC I seriously can't wait for their story!! I think this is my favorite LOL scene. Oh wait. Yup it is. I woke up my roommate and our neighbors with my laughing!

This book also had its fair share of angst. I normally don't do well with angst, but the amount here was perfect. Enough to give me that batshit crazy feeling but not enough to drive me up a wall and chuck the book out the window. There were some choices Logan made I firmly disagreed with, but I also realized that at the time, it was probably the only choice he could've made. I think he was confused by all these feelings he had, and once I read about his past, I could definitely see why he felt unworthy and hopeless. I did plenty of this when it came to the angsty scenes, and so did Logan:

description

The humor, the originality, the sweet yet angsty story plot were all reasons for a 5 star rating for me, but what really clinched it was this HUGE, MASSIVE, NEVER SAW IT COMING twist(s) in the last quarter of the book. And I mean W.O.W.. I had to take a couple of seconds to make sure I wasn't reading it wrong. This move was pure brilliance on Jay's part. Besides saying "oh my god" like a million times, this is what I also did:

description

And the heart-to-heart scene? AHHHHHH!!!

*True

Real*

*Heartbreak

Moment*

description

description

The ending of this book left me with three feelings:

Disbelief that this happened

description

Heart attack because it happened

description

Anticipation of what will happen

description

There is definitely much more to this addictive, encompassing, heartwrenching story, and I am anxiously, tapping my foot patiently waiting for the next installment of the series.

Bravo Jay! You more than a lot outdid yourself with this one!

5 Logan is a boss Stars

This is the second book in the More Series. We met Logan when he spilled his drink on Mikayla and started the chain of events that led to Jake and Mikayla meeting. Logan is Jake’s best friend, we know him as a cocky asshole who says what’s on his mind. He doesn’t apologize for who he is, love him or hate him, what you see is what you get.

Logan is seriously one of my favorite book boyfriends ever. Logan comes off as an asshole and I guess to most people he is, but he has also overcome so much to become the cocky asshole everyone knows and loves. Logan has had his share of girls, too many to even count. Then one day he meets the girl who can withstand his charms and turns him down.

Amanda Marquez isn’t interested in the self absorbed man whore, so when he begins pursuing her she turns him down multiple times. Finally Amanda agrees to go out with Logan after he creatively coerces her. Something happens and that is basically how the beginning of the story unfolds. We know Amanda and Logan know each other and something happened between their senior year of high school and their freshman year of college. Amanda and Logan haven’t seen each other in a year and half, but that doesn’t stop Logan from beginning his pursuit again and trying to win her over.

"That day I saw you at the library, after we talked at the bus stop. That was the moment, that for the first time in my life, I wanted to believe in second chances.”

The story is told in dual POV, alternating from past and present. So you get to see how the past events shaped their future relationships.

It is no secret I love this series and here is few reasons why. I feel like I know these characters and if they are the type of characters I would want to spend time with in real life. I love my billionaire books and my crazy plot lines, but these stories just feel more realistic to me and completely pull me in. I love how these college students are just living life, they all come from the same town but have different pasts that make them unique.

I love the reading references, you can tell this series is written by an author who loves to read. I have never met Jay McLean, but I can tell she has a kick ass personality and wicked sense of humor. Here is one example, but honestly there are so many. This story kept me laughing out loud.

"So what’s this about a book club? You girls sit around, reading dirty books, fanning each other’s vaginas? Because if so, count me in!"

This series has heart and soul, humor, and hot sex. I loved Logan Matthews. He is a great hero and Amanda is his a perfect match. She isn’t annoying or irrational, they just fit together.

"Boys in books are so not better. Not compared to Logan Matthews. I love him.”

This book does end with a cliffhanger, but thankfully the sequel is out so you can go straight into More than Him. Sometimes it pays to be the last person to read a book/series. :-)

FOUR MATTHEWS STARS.

I lost myself. In his hold. In his kiss. I completely lost myself in Logan Matthews.

description

I'm still kicking myself that it took me so long to start this series. And now that I have, I can confirm that book two was almost everything I wanted it to be. Jay McLean is an author that has made me sit up and take notice and now I'm finally understanding the hype around her 'More than' series. I can't quite believe that I'm able to sit still and write a review for this book when the next book in the series is sitting on my kindle waiting for me. So you'll excuse me when say I'm going to quickly jot down my thoughts and then commit myself to my reading cave to get the bottom of the questions that book two has left me hanging with ...

What did I love?
Logan, Logan, Logan and more Logan. What can I say? I think I'll always be 'that' reader who finds herself helplessly addicted to the reformed hero who falls helplessly in love with the soul mate of his dreams. (Yes I sound ridiculous I realise this). But Logan Matthews is what New Adult dreams are made of. And as for his mistakes and less than desirable qualities, well I can more than overlook those flaws because readers this fictional character won me over. Jay Mclean has a way of keeping her readers on their toes, nothing is predictable or boring there will always be a new development or plot twist that gets thrown into the mix and I for one loved every moment of it. From meeting this lonely bad boy in book one he totally grabbed my attention and going into book two I was excited to see what this author would do to convince me to fall in love. There's plenty of emotion involved, much like book one of the series and I was glad to have an endless supply of dreamy new adult moments that gave me what I always crave from this trope. Again I loved to see the friendships continue to progress between the 'more than' characters and what more can I say other than I'm happy to continue on with my Jay McLean marathon. Here's to heroes we love and heroines that we adore.

description

Why not five?
If I was to rate this book entirely on it's ability to make me fall in love with a hero, then you can bet your life on it that id be handing out a five star as quick as I could. But we all know (sadly) that there is much more to a book than it's hero. (However much I adored Logan). So, here's where the rubber hits the road, it took me a little while to get into the flow of this book, I struggled somewhat with the back and forth timeline which then made me constantly question who was doing what where? (It took out some of the enjoyment factor because I couldn't simply just 'get lost' in the story line). I also got just a teeny bit frustrated with the speed of the story telling I felt like the characters were going round and round in circles and I would have preferred a much clearer plot with more character development than the frequently placed drama. However, there is zero doubt that this author has me wrapped up in this series and I'm dying to move onto book three. What a journey, Here's to loving heroes and falling in love with fiction.

description

Final thoughts ...
Nothing feels better than when I can say that I'm excited to carry on with a series. I love how Jay McLean has made the focus of her books about friendship and love, with each book the readers gets to see more and more of this group of characters and how their lives link together. Obviously these coming of age characters have a lot of work to do in their respective relationships and I'm more than impressed (see what I did there)? with how well this author pieces all of that together. If like me you love a new adult romance tale then I'm pretty sure you'll be happy to get wrapped up in this series. And as for me, I'm now stuck like glue to this author and her entertaining more than adventures. I can't finish my review without mentioning my love for all things, Logan Matthews. He is the perfect hero, he won over my heart and I can't deny that I loved reading about him, I'm more than willing to allow Mrs McLean to make me fall in love with another hero of hers but as for now I'm claiming Logan as my favourite. Readers, I'm so glad that I started on this journey and if you haven't yet picked this series up and you are a fan of swoony, dramatic love stories then what are you waiting for? Go grab book one right away. Enjoy ... Kisses

More Than Her is book two in the More Than series by Jay McLean. This book is the story of Logan and Amanda. It starts out going back and forth between the past and the present. It took me a couple of chapters to adjust to the time swings but once I got a feel for it, everything was good. But let me warn you, this is an emotional book. So get your tissues and let’s dive in.

description

I loved Logan in book one. I knew there was a story there but had no idea how tough things really were for him during the early years of his life. He first met Amanda before college. And he liked her. He wanted to get to know her. So finally they have their first date. And…it’s epic. But things happened and he didn’t call her back, and he let her go. She was the one that he let get away. The one he could never forget. So now they are at college and he finds her. And he wants another chance.

“No one else would understand how one night with a virtual stranger changed me. How I never wanted to be close to anybody my entire life. Not until I met you.”

photo tumblr_njxy9n2LGg1tgrhfno1_400_zpsl4oyowd5.gif

Amanda let Logan break her heart once. Could she forgive him and risk her heart again? He wears her down, though, works himself into her heart…again. But Amanda has her own share of challenges in her life. Her Dad left, her mother is unstable. She has her own secrets as well. Something that happened. Something she doesn’t want Logan to know.

“You own me, Amanda. All of me.”

“She became more than just my girl. She became my everything.”

 photo 2d5eec99cbf87707b604c34f325ceefa-222x300_zps663e0439.jpg

First, I want to say that I love the familial relationships in this book. And there are a lot of bonds and ties between families. Nathan is Jake’s Dad, and Logan and his father’s lawyer. That is how Jake and Logan became best friends. Logan’s Dad is the Dr. who helped Kayla in book one. I also love the relationship between the parents and children in this book. The bonds are strong. The strength of their love apparent. And there is one very surprising revelation revealed that ties Logan to Kayla.

“God, Amanda. I’d be the luckiest asshole in the world if I got to wake up like this, with you in my arms, every day.”

 photo tumblr_m1nnbkkN8I1rsddxho1_500_zpsc036fda9.jpg

From the start, Amanda and Logan have everything against them. When they reunite in college, they are so good together. But when some secrets are revealed, it seems like it might be too much to overcome. But overcome it they do. So you get to thinking that this is it, that they are going to get their HEA. But then the author throws more trouble into their paths. And the ending, OH MY GOSH. I did not see that coming at all!

“I’ll follow you wherever, Logan. For as long as you’ll have me.”

Throughout all of this, I believed that these two were perfect together. But their story is not complete. Consider yourself warned, there is a cliff hanger. So in order to get the end of Logan and Amanda’s story, I will have to continue on with book three, More Than Him. I guess that’s what makes a good author, one that knows just how to make us keep coming back for more. Well, Jay McLean definitely got that one right because now I’m hooked.

🌉5-You-Are-My-Person-Stars🌉

And....
People ask me why I am afraid of relationship and commitment.....
Because this book is a solid reason WHY

"Instead of living life by time and dates, try to live them by moments. And instead of trying to remember how old I was or what day it was, try to remember how I felt during those moments"

So this book kinda makes wanna me believe second chance can work you know?
But obviously strictly reminded me don't let the second chance become 3rd chance or 4th.

Okay soo after reading chapter 13 I had to take a U-turn and re-read the Prologue again!

Because what the actual FUCK!!!!!!

I was like if this guy will not give me the grovelling of the century, present his heart on a silver platter to do whatever I please then
I WILL SUE him 😤

Then I realised how realistic Logan's situation was?

Realisation that hit me HARD↓
Love is not all hearts and flowers
It's a phase.
We could fall in love and grow out of it.
It's better to leave someone instead of doing things half a$$ed.
It's better not to be with someone if you can't be with them fully.
It's BEST not to be with someone with confusion nagging in your head.
I get Logan Matthews.
I get Amanda

"I helped her so she was lying on top of me. I loved feeling her this close. It wasn't a sex thing, not all the time, sometimes I just want her.
I could lay like this, with her in my arms forever, and it still wouldn't be long enough."

We sometimes get a glimpse of HOPE in a person

"Then her head was back resting on my lap, and my fingers were in her hair.
And it was pretty damn close to perfect."

We are after that HOPE. That's it's hard to let go of a person who makes you want to live a little longer, a little fuller.

"Amanda." Her eyes lifted to mine. "It doesn't matter where I am in this world, there's nothing else I'd rather see. Just you."

I wish Logan's inner conflict story was all this book had
But when I get to the part about Amanda's back story I guess around 62% I was so shocked because I feel like I hear this kinda story all the time you know?
And I get all judge-yyyy......
But reading it in a book for the very first time it did a number with my head.

When I read Amanda's back story I felt like someone was scraping my insides with a knife.
I couldn’t breathe....
How do you get over a mistake which you know you did consciously?
The answer you can't

And afterwards, when karma is doing It's best to tear you apart, how do you run from that?
And The answer is you CAN'T

Oh Amanda I don't pity you
I swear
But can I hug you?
Give you some girl energy?
Amanda can I tell you if I were your friend I would be always there for you?

Thank the Heavens for Alexis then 💝

Love The way Amanda Alexis duo breathed life into me.

I held her tighter.
A pained sound escaped her.
"Am I hurting you?" I stroked her hair.
"No," she said into my chest. "You're healing me."

This book was so angsty
First Logan's Conflict
Amanda's back story
Logan's Past

"How is it okay?" I lifted my head, looking into his eyes. His green eyes so clear of any emotion.
"Because," he said, kissing me softly. "It's over. We move on, right?"

This not a regular romance story.
It's a story about the events that shaped Logan and Amanda as the person they are right now.

"Because, Amanda," he lifted my chin with his finger. "Because you and me—we're going to be amazing."

Jay McLean, you did it again!
You made my heart bleed and I am not even complaining.

"You do that a lot."
"Huh?"
"Kiss my wrist—you do that a lot—why?"
I shrugged. "I don't know. It's like my lips—on your pulse. I can feel your heart beating and know that you're here. I guess sometimes I find it hard to believe that you're real—and that you're mine."

I don't know how I wrote this review because I am in PAIN with Logan and Amanda right now....

Logan fell in love once. But he was confused, his past was weighting in and he gave up on that.
Now, one year later he and the girl meet again on college: the feelings are there, the connection as well, but now she doesn’t trust him. And with good reason, after all he is a man-whore who broke her hearth.
He is decided to get her back, she is decided not to forgive him afraid her heart will be broken again. This time he don’t want to lose her, but if he have her again… will he be ready this time?

I normally run from angst like I would run from Ebola in Africa (too soon?). And there’s a reason for that: my heart can’t take it! But once in a while comes a books that makes me forget my angst-allergy and turns into an all-night amazing reading. This was of those books. It made feel, it made me cry, it made me smile. The writing was perfect and the scenes and characters so realistic that it’s impossible not to connect with the story. There was some drama that was a little over the top, but other than that, these books are definitely one the best NA series ever written.

Rating: 4 Stars.
Characters Development: Logan is one of those broken guys who behaves like a jerk for several times, but we love him anyway because we can see there’s a great guy underneath it all. I really liked him. Amanda was also pretty good, some of her actions weren’t perfect but she was a girl with a broken hearth and lack of trust. They were understandable. I loved to see more of the others. Lucy is probably my favorite girl ever written, I can’t wait to read her book.
Steam: Some hot moments.

3 to 4 Stars … depending on your stance

This is a difficult review for me to write, because I honestly don’t know what to rate More Than Her (MTH)...I think I will decide by the time I finish this review. I loved book 1, More Than This (MTT), like A LOT. MTT was a five star read to me, so it’s hard for me to be disappointed with book 2, but I am.

A lot of people will disagree with me on this review and I completely understand that, it’s because I do not like ANGST

I hate it. I can’t stand ANGST! Again, my definition of Angst is a story written about two main characters not being able to overcome an issue because of misunderstanding. That is what it means to me. Have I given a five star rating for a book with lots of angst, of course, but not for MTH.

McLean went in a completely new writing direction for this book and it worked completely for a lot of people…. I see the reviews and everyone loved MTH. This reminds me of the time where I wasn’t fond of … Going Under by S. Walden, The Sea of Tranquility by Katja Millay or The Opportunist by Tarryn Fisher, but everyone loved it.

So, if you like to use my review to form a basis of what you like to read, then note this… did you like the above books I mentioned? Do you like angst? Were you okay with More Than This? If you say yes to any of those question, than MTH is for you. With all the reviews I have read, mostly everyone that was okay with MTT, really loved MTH.

It’s Logan’s story and right away we find out who “Her” is. There’s flash backs, a lot of tension and back and forth throughout the whole book. This drove me crazy. I had to take mini-breaks and I was pulling my hair out from start to finish.

I didn’t quite understand Logan, nor his issues. Actually I didn’t understand “her” issues as well. Maybe I was reading this in a mood, but it was hard for me to empathize with the characters. I think I was setting myself up with a MTT kind of read and when the direction was turned on me, I was taken back a bit.

Then we get to that part… the part where EVERYONE knows what I am talking about. Pretty much throughout the whole book, I was holding out hope that there would be some redemption between Logan and Her. I was looking for that connection and spark. But when THAT part happened, I almost vomited in my mouth. I think I re-read it a few times because I just couldn’t believe it.

This is my issue with stuff like that. Not that I am “sensitive”, I don’t think I am, because I can read pretty harsh things, BUT I didn’t feel like it added any value to the book (of course I am not the norm because a lot of readers had a positive affect by this). I rather have not read that. I think my rating would have been higher too.

Also, the cliffy didn’t bother me. A lot of people have issues with cliffys, I do not. I find them entertaining, but I do have issues if a series is not known to not have cliffys and then to throw it in, well that kind of bothers me. However, I was fully aware of the cliffy in MTH, so I prepared myself for it.

After going back and forth, I decided this was a 3.5 star read for me. I am fully aware I am part of the blog tour and I have converse with the author several times. However, I feel like my review does justice on how I feel. If you know me as a reviewer, then you can gauge what works for you. If I am known to not like angsty reads and you love them, well then, you know this one is for you.

Ok so back to the story....This was Logan's book.....I love love LOVED Logan from More than This. More than Her was an enjoyable read and I love Logan's character....I will say we saw a softer side of Logan but he didn't quite grow a vagina so that was good. There was a lot of back and forth with the relationship of him and the girl who will not be named. There were plenty of great quotes throughout the book and I am excited for Lucy and Cam's book.

We meet secret girl and come to find out they have a history. Girl sees Logan present day and is like

OH THE ANGST!!

description

This book had me from the first chapter. I did however have to ask a friend to remind me who was who, I have the worst memory.

This story had twists, broken hearts, mental patients, twin brothers and Hoovering. Frankly, the drama never quit!

The story is told in alternating povs of "Her" and "Logan" and I have to give the author props because I absolutely swooned over Logan Matthews, flaws and all.

"I can't give you much, or anything at all. But when I say those words to you, it won't just be words - It will be me giving you something that means something. And you deserve to know that, to feel that. So please, let me be the first to say it - because I need to be able to at least give you that...and when I do - those three words will be yours, forever. "Between baseball, the parties, the girls and the sex I have just enough time to study. If I had to give up one of those things, it would be baseball."

This is his behaviour AFTER the shit he does to the h.

What a complete and utter douchebag!

He didn't deserve her, and she should've left his ass dumped in the gutter. Her doormat behaviour towards this loser really pissed me off.

So...he screwed around a year and a half after being with the h. And keeps on fooling around with other chicks right up until the second he tries it on with the h again, literally with another chick's lipstick on his neck. Ummm, yuck and disgusting.

If she was the love of his love why didn't he fight for her? Why did he NEVER try to find her and show his regret/sorry for being an asshole??? Hah, because he preferred to be a manwhore and screw around with random girls.

H was a BIG FAT NOOOOOOOOO!!!

I did not like this story at all. I don't like Logan, I don't like any of the things he did, he frankly did NOTHING to redeem himself at all. Nothing so it pisses me off that she just let him off the hook. Logan was just a seedy shithead.

Fuck me!!! What was that shit????

Oh, dear Lord!!! What a madness!!!
I still can not believe all this shit that happened at the whole book, and especially at the end!!!
I thought that Kayla had a difficult story, but neither Logan or Amanda was having a better life!!!

Oh shit!!! All of that can't be real!!!
And now, what??? It so hard for me to accept it!!!
I was waiting like a crazy person for my happy ending and when i was about to have it, after all this shit that Logan and Amanda went through.... Shit go real!!!!

Damn!!! There's no enough words to curse the universe for what happened!!!!

Well, this book focused in Logan. He is Jake's best friend from the first book. He is a little bit crazy, funny and a womanizer type... But somewhere between the previous story, he started feeling something about Amanda for the very first time in his life...
But then he confused the caring and loving for a friend who suffered with the love of a lifetime and he fucked up everything with Amanda!!!!
Now, after 1,5 year he is longing to see her again and when his wish come true, Amanda wants nothing to do with him!!! So he has to make the things better but which is the better way to do that when the girl that you desire hates you????

Amanda alouds herself to feel things about Longan even though she knew the rumors that followed him around!!! But in one single night, he crushed her heart and from that moment everything went down in her life...
How can she ever forgive him, even though she still had feelings for him... feelings that she is trying so hard to ignore???
But they are moving in the same circles and he is making it difficult for her to not aknowledge him!!! And the worst part of all is that from a twist of luck, Logan is her new roommate...

Will they manage to overcome the bad things in their life and to find the happiness together????
Or all this shit that ruled their lives will swallow them???
Because both of them they had too much pain in their lives because of their past.
They will manage to run away from their demons or they'll rule them and destroy everything that they are trying to built together????

Oh, shit!!! That book was more better than the previous book!!!
It shocked me so many times... In some point i almost lost it with the things that was happening all the time...

Shit!!! I need something good in the next book because i don't know if i can handle more pain for that two... Amanda and Logan are both so good and they deserve to have their happy ending!!!!

Phew!!! With very heavy heart i will continue to the next book!!!
I need to found out what will happen next!!!
I am crossing my fingers for good luck!!!

TITLE: More Than Her
SERIES: (More Than, #2)
AUTHOR: Jay McLean
GENRE: Contemporary Romance
EXPECTED PUBLICATION: November 18th 2013
MY RATING: ★★★★★

I'm having a Jay MCLean marathon in the hopes I can finish this series!! Apparently me and series suck, I seem to never get to finish them..So here goes!!

Image and video hosting by TinyPic

We got a glimpse of Logan THE BOGAN in BOOK#1 I kind of thought he was bit of a cocky douchebag but had a deeper, caring side which we got to see a tiny bit of, this book divulges all the gritty, rawness to his character, which made my heart all gooey and mushy, he's the kind of guy that when he gives his heart he's all in and he falls hard..He's kind of backwards - forwards, does things backwards but does get there in the end..

Image and video hosting by TinyPic

What I'm loving about this series so far is the fact that it's not insta love lets go at it like rabbits, there's that anticipation build up even though the attraction is there it moves along slowly and I love that, you get to feel the drama, the angst, the emotional ups and downs..

SO MANY

Image and video hosting by TinyPic

AND SO MUCH

Her naked body was pressed against the wall opposite me. She had a shocked look on her face. Her eyes bugged out. Her mouth hung open. She was slowly shaking her head.
I looked down at my dick—just to make sure it hadn't turned into a dragon or some shit.
It looked fine.
I sniffed once.
It smelled fine.
My eyes lifted to hers again. "Logan," she whispered, looking around the room.
“Her head began to shake more frantically, but her eyes were glued to my dick.
"Logan," she said again, whispering a little louder, "That's not gonna fit.”

Image and video hosting by TinyPic

One thing with reading a series of books back to back the bonus with doing it this way is that you dodge the cliff hanger bullet and there's no waiting period yelling at the author for the next instalment *phew* wipes forehead!!

Just when you finally think these two (well more like Logan the Bogan) has his shit together some more drama goes down and the fucker (yet again) walks away!! GAH Luckily for him he's a fictional character and I can't go stalk his ass and kick him where it hurts..

Image and video hosting by TinyPic
When you're a kid and you're scared of monster's voices - then you do anything you can to not have to go back to that place in your life.

This can't be all there is to us. To our story. This can't be how it ends.

So far with this series that I've read the feels that course through your heart are indescribable, the angst, drama, love, hate, it's all there like a never ending roller coaster..

Two down onto the next book!!

"Also," Lucy continued, "this girl in one of my classes keeps wanting me to warn you that her brother is after you."

I rolled my eyes, "What girl? What do you tell her?"

"I tell her to fuck off. And that she needs to learn to control her hormones. Get it, Logan? WHORE-MOANS? Oh my god. I'm so fucking funny!"

Boys in books are so not better. Not compared to Logan Matthews.
description

I have been waiting for Logan's story. I loved him in More Than This and couldn't wait to get his story. I don't want to spoil anything, like the identity of Her, so this will be a short review. Even though you find out early on, I would hate to piss anyone off ;)

There is a lot of push/pull action between Logan and his leading lady. She tries to resist him, but seriously who can resist Logan and all his charm. He is rather fabulous. <3

I hate him. I hate him. I hate him. I hate him so fucking much , I want to push him up against the wall and punch him in the face. And then I want to lick him.

But he may have ruined any chance he has with her. Every choice we make has a consequence. Logan spends months hoping for another chance, will things work out differently the second time around?

More Than Her was a very entertaining read, it was sweet, fun, emotional, and steamy. I laughed, got misty eyed, pissed, and swooned - a full range of emotions.

Holy

Batman!!!

My heart is beating 1,000 mph and I swear I got ulcers reading this book. That was angst city!!!

DAMN! DAMN! DAMN!!!

So...More Than Her is Logan's story. We find out pretty early on who the "her" is after the mind fuckery ending of More Than This. The first 30ish% flashes from past to present...where Logan and "her" first meet and where they both are currently. There really is no way to say anything about this book....without spoiling it.

All you need to know is

Logan...

I wanted to junk punch you. Nearly throughout the whole damn book. Good thing "her" was a hell of a lot more forgiving then I would be. What was so frustrating was I saw glimpses of the greatness that could of been for Logan and "her". When things were good....they were good.

"I can't give you much, or anything at all. But when I say those words to you, it won't just be words--it will be me giving you something that means something. And you deserve to know that, to feel that. So please, let me be the first to say it--because I need to be able to at least give you that...and when I do--those three words will be yours, forever. And so will I."

The push and pull was just as present in More Than Her. Together. Not Together. Together. Not Together. Together? Not Together?

The ending...there are no words!

●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●

I am in pain right now, and my face is still wet with tears. This book.... this book.

This is Logan Matthews' story. He isn't really sure of what love really is. But he does know that he can't forget about this girl. This girl that he needed to know but abruptly left. Now a year later, this girl is back in his life. No matter what he tries he tells himself. He can't stay away from her. He just hopes that she will forgive him and give him a second chance. Meanwhile, Amanda knows she never wants to go through that pain again. She isn't sure she can ever forgive him. That doesn't stop him from trying.

The book goes back and forth from past to present for about the first quarter of it. I enjoyed the the flashbacks and how it kept giving us information on what exactly went wrong between them. It never annoyed me to read about the past. Some were really great memories while others were a pit painful to read.

●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●

“And this—this is the moment. The moment I let myself fall completely in love with her.”

●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●

I liked Logan since he gave this speech on his quest for love in the first book. Ever since then, I wanted to get to know him more. He was cocky and a total asshat. But that isn't who he really is, that is just a mask he wears to hide how unsure and hurt he is. His upbringing was heart wrenching. I couldn't believe all that he went through and when I really think about it, I'm glad he didn't let it destroy his life. He is still full of hope for his future. He's left it all behind and trying to move forward. I loved how wonderful he could be to Amanda. But at the same time, he frustrated me with how hurtful he could be. In the end, I did love him. He ripped my heart to shreds in the end but I still loved this character.

●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●

“I'll follow you wherever, Logan. For as long as you'll have me."
Forever, I thought. But I kept that to myself.”

●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●

Amanda, I also really loved. Her upbringing wasn't the best either. I felt for her completely after her father pretty much abandoned her family. She works hard to try to give herself a future. She is also trying to move on from her hurtful past. She is independent and quite strong. No matter how many times she falls, she makes sure to pick herself up and keep going. I loved that about her. I mean if I was her, I would probably be completely devasted by everything that happened to her. This book really made me feel all of their emotions, which I was so happy about. I swooned so hard for Logan right along with Amanda. I felt it all.

●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●

"I can't give you much, or anything at all. But when I say those words to you, it won't just be words - It will be me giving you something that means something. And you deserve to know that, to feel that. So please, let me be the first to say it - because I need to be able to at least give you that...and when I do - those three words will be yours, forever. And so will I."

●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●

Both of these characters were molded by their pasts. The desicions they make are because of what they went through. Which is why they end up hurting one another and don't really know how to stay together in the long run. They are still very much lost. Together they feel whole, but they still need to find themselves and heal in order to be together. It was a tear jerking story. I was bawling by the end of it. I connected so much with these characters. It wasn't all melancholic, there were many moments of humour with the secondary characters that I love so much. Especially Lucy and Cam who are my favourite couple (*cough*I hope they get a book*cough*). There were also some sweet moments between Amanda and Logan. But that ending gutted me. I can't wait to dive into the next. I definitely recommend this one to YA/NA lovers.

Title: More Than Her
Series: More #2
Release Date: November 19th, 2013
Rating: 4 stars
Cliffhanger: Yes
HEA:

Minor spoilers ahead

I was very excited to read Logan’s story. After how More Than This ended, I was blown away and literally couldn’t believe my eyes. I wanted, no I needed to know who Logan loved and if it was Mickey. This two sentences made me believe More Than Her would be very different story.

img

„I’ve only ever been close to loving someone else one other time. Or at least I thought it could be love. But I had to kill that idea real quick, because the thing is, you don’t fall in love with your best friends girl.”

But it was nothing like I thought it will be. Jay Mclean’s done a very, very bad thing to me. She led me to believe in something that was brutally squished in first pages of Logan’s book. I don’t understand what was the point of this charade, but maybe it was for the better. I probably would DNF More Than Her, if it was Logan – Mickey – Jake triangle. Fortunately, it did not happen. On the other hand, I feel that this all dilemma was unrealistic. It actually made me sigh in frustration few times. I wanted to hit Logan more than once and finally beat some sense into him. He acted like an idiot. Really.

Yet, Logan still had his brilliant moments. Reading about him and being in his head was a nice experience. After I found out, he did not love Mickey in ‘romantic’ way, the book did a one eighty.

img

More Than Her, actually was a book about Amanda and Logan and a very crazy ride into theirs full of sexual chemistry, laugh out loud moments relationship. I can’t say I loved it as much as Mickey and Jake’s, but I guess it was the fact that all plot was a constant reminder how Logan is an absolute idiot, who only thought he loved someone else. True story. If not that fiasco, I could have been over the moon with More Than Her. I just didn’t get that part and it made me constantly shake my head at Logan’s foolishness.

img

Jay Mclean made me laugh, tingle and have a blast, though. As in her previous novel she threw several hilarious scenes, more than enough sexy parts and lots of butterflies in tummy moments. I was pretty satisfied with how the story went, till the end. I wasn’t pleased to learn that Logan and Amanda will get another book , not because I didn’t enjoy reading about them, but for the reason that I have had enough of cliffhangers recently.

So, I was given the greatest honor in the world and was able to be a beta reader for this book. It has been the best journey. I feel like I was allowed to watch magic being made. MAGIC is the only word to explain this book. It's magical, it's wonderful, the writing is beautiful and the amount of feelings you feel while reading about Logan and his journey is overwhelming. When I finished this book, I was left wanting so much more.

This is Logan's story. This isn't Jake and Kayla's story. So don't go into this thinking that. This book takes you on a journey and you get to see inside the man that Logan is and I fell deeply in love with him. It's not an easy journey Logan has to go down and he sure as hell doesn't make it easy. When a book can make you feel the emotions and makes you cry right along with the characters you know it's a book that will be on your favorites shelf.

This book is a book that needs to be read over and over and over again. It will be released soon, so go read more than this so you can meet Logan and then buy this book and just remember I have called dibs on Logan.

And this - this is the moment I knew what it felt like to lose everything I never had.

This was way better than the first book! If you -like me- didn’t like the first book much, you should give ‘more than her’ a chance. It was more real and more emotional. This two characters really belong to each other. This book is an improvement from the first one, and the story is more enjoyable. Even the writing is better. It’s a new adult book that is full of push and pull and a little angst.

”The worst part is that you and me, we could have been Amazing. We could have had it all, Logan. Everything. And you fucked it up”

This is Logan’s story, and oh boy what a story was it! Logan has finally found “the girl” she was it for him! At first she resisted his charm because he’s known as the cocky jerk that shouldn’t be trusted. Then she finally gave in. They went out on one date and they were AMAZING. But then he messed up! After about a year or a year and half later, He decided to get her back, to ask for a second chance, but she won’t forgive him for the fear that he would break her heart again.

I forget that not everyone that loves you is out to hurt you. It's this moment— when I let it be okay for someone to love me.

Logan is amazing! I liked his character a lot. I liked being inside his head. I loved his relation with his dad, and how he defined his life by the moments instead of living it by time and dates. His past is dark and heartbreaking that made me feel for him. “Her” character was....
Oh no I forget I’m not supposed to say anything about her *innocently whistling* she’s just a girl who has also been through a lot. That’s it.

One of the greatest things about this book, is the side characters! Really they are great. Their friendship is awesome.
Lucy and Cameron are amazing. Drunk Lucy is hilarious. I can’t wait for their own book! I LOVED Logan’s dad! He was so wise and patient. His relation with Logan was really amazing and sweet!

”So my dad—he told me that instead of living life by time and dates, to live them by moments. And instead of trying to remember how old I was or what day it was, try to remember how I felt during those moments.”

Logan: I need your help.
Dad: Anything.

The book was really enjoyable, sweet, emotional, with a little angst and drama. It took me a couple of chapters to adjust to the time swings but then I was good. The end of the book (the last 20 percent or sth) was heartbreaking! I was holding my breath through it. The book ends in a heartbreaking cliffhanger, but fortunately book 3 is out now!

”She makes you happy, son?" he asked quietly.
“No," I said, shaking my head. "She makes me whole.”

”You and me, we’re going to make new memories. Ones that you aren’t afraid of. And it’s going to be amazing.”

4,75 STARS!!!

After reading "More than this", I must confess that Logan has captured my attention. A jerk, manwhore and one of the hottest guy ever. What's not to like?

"Boys in book are so not better. Not compared to Logan Matthews."

I fallen in love with Logan and Amanda from their first meeting.

"First, I don't even know you. Second, we're at a fucking wake. And third, you're an asshole."

Well, technically I was laughing like a idiot and I couldn't wait to see how their relationship develops. I loved Logan. He is funny and charming. He has great relationship with his father.
"Logan: I think I may have a problem.
Dad: If it's red, itchy or inflamed, come straight home and notify everyone.
Logan: Ha Ha. Seriously though, is there some sort of medical condition involved with the uncontrollable need to kiss someone?
Dad: Why are you asking this?
Logan: Because can't quit kissing this girl.
Dad: No medical condition. Maybe you just like her.
Logan: That makes more sense. I thought for sure it was my body's way of telling me something."

Logan was so sweet with Amanda.

"The rain. It won't hurt you. I won't let it."

I loved every moment of this book until the last 10%.

"I want you to need me. I want you to fucking choose me. I want you to fight for me. You have to fight for me. You have to fight for me, Logan. You can't walk away. Not again."

Jay McLean is one of those authors that their books make me stay up all night to finish 'em. Loved her style of writing so very much. It was easy, and it transition smoothly from stage to another.

I loved Logan Matthews in : More Than This but i really fell totally in love with him in "More Than Her". He's the same guy but the author takes us in deep about him as a person. We learns SOOOO MUCH in this book. Also lots of secrets revels going on.

Logan Matthews is sweet, smart, nice, cute, and HAUTTTYY . He makes some mistakes along the novel but those mistakes were made so that he can know himself better and decides his feelings towards his bestfriend girl!

I also loved that this book wasn't a love triangle, and some of those feelings were cleared up very soon.
But the amount of drama that went down WAS INCREDIBLE. It never once felt forced or over the top. So that was a plus for me.

I won't make this review long because i am planning on doing a double review about this one and the book that comes after it since it's also about the same couple.

I hugely recommend this series, you won't regret it.
Have a nice day xx

I don't even know what to say...

That was a brutal way to end things! So many questions!! so many DAMN questions.

For me, this was more angsty than More than This. I felt like I was on a rollercoaster of emotions--happy, sad, pissed, crazy, crushed, estatic, annoyed and finally FRUSTRATED.

I don't want to give anything away, so I'll be as vague as possible. Logan Mathews, the funny and arrogant boy we met in MTT gets his own story. As you can remember the way things ended in that book, I was completely unprepared for all the stuff that went down here. There is a love interest...of course. But who is she? SHE is someone that tears his world in a good way but also in a bad way. SHE'S the game changer.

LOGAN'S PERSON.

There are many false starts but things really take off beautifully for them...finally. But, and there's always a BUT...well, you'll have to read it to find out!

I really liked Logan and couldn't believe what he endured as a child. It was horrific, truly. And Mr. Alan Mathews, his adoptive father, was a Godsend. He was amazing in the fullest capacity. But Logan deserved that and more after the crap he went through.

And although I liked Logan, I still LOVE Jake. He was what made the first book for me and although Logan gave him a run for his money, Jake comes in first place. EVERY. TIME.

I'm not sure how I feel about HER. My feelings are mixed, but THEY are great together. How does it end? let's just say it was not perfect? Yes, it was a cliffhanger. DAMN. I just want my HEA dammit!

Hopefully with More Than Him, we get one. With HER.

Very angsty, very dramatic and stressful. Rollercoaster people. The ones that make you throw up. In a good way, ;-)).
Really liked this although sometimes I felt it was too young, but that doesn't change anything. It was an emotional, heartfelt and memorable story. Can't wait for the next one!!! please!!!

The series has an angsty college vibe, includes; some fun, deep passionate love, lots of GOOD drama, it's terribly emotionally engaging, and good depth in the character department.

You'll need to read them all in the right order because there is a lot of side characters and backstory by the time you get to #2.
