Yn mwynhau'r gyfres wedi ei lleoli yn Aberystwyth (ac mae adnabod rhai o'r lleoliadau yn rhan o'r pleser!) Hefyd yn hoffi'r cefndir, y diwydiant cyhoeddi Cymraeg a'r llenorion Eisteddfodol (ond nid oes llawer o son am nawdd cyhoeddus, sy'n gofyn y cwestiwn a oes perygl i gyhoeddwr fod mewn trafferthion ariannol fel yr awgrynyd yn y stori). Llen-lladrata yn rhan bwysig o'r stori diddorol, ac hefyd mae sefydliadau go iawn yn chwarae rhan - gobeithio i Geraint Evans fod wedi ddod I gytundeb gyda Choleg yr Iesu, Rhydychen! Mae ail linyn i'r stori sydd heb gael cymaint o sylw, sef y Camorra a'u diddordebau, yn cynnwys gamblo ar-lein. Dim ond tua'r derfyn ydyn ni'n gweld y cysylltiad gyda rannau gwahanol o'r stori. Camgymeriad oedd darllen "Diawl y wasg" cyn darllen "Llafnau", yr ail yn y gyfres, ond er i fi wybod bellach beth sy'n digwydd yr wyf yn dal i fwriadu llenwi'r bwlch.

Enjoying this series set in Aberystwyth (part of the fun is recognising locations!)Also like the background of the Welsh publishing industry and the Eisteddfod literati (although there is an elephant in the room - subsidies which make it unlikely that the press would be in financial difficulties in the first place). Interesting story using the theme of plagiarism and using actual institutions - hope Geraint Evans has made his peace with Jesus College, Oxford, for instance! There is a secondary plot which is not so well developed concerning the Camorra and their various interests including online gambling, and only at the end do we see this the various strands are linked. I made a mistake by not reading the previous novel, second in the series, "Llafnau", before this one, but I think I will fill the gap even though I already know how events turned out in that.
