Rebirth provides an in-depth look at the development of Europe following World War II. This book is packed full of information and tracks political, foreign policy, and economic situations throughout Europe. The first part of the book takes Europe as a whole and look at how NATO, the UN, the development of the EU and other international organizations impacted the continent. Events like the Cold War, Marshall Plan and various revolutions are all factored in to these discussions. Following the general European coverage the authors take the reader on an in-depth analysis of the countries of Europe and the USSR. This is a great book for those starting out in post world war II Europe. The bibliography at the end of each sections is filled with the essential books to cover topics of choice further. For professors looking for a survey book this is the place to start.
