It all started when Kiera gave the bad boy her virginity...
Kiera knew Reese Trenton wasn't for her, but she couldn't stay away. He was rough around the edges, tattooed and pierced, and fiercer than any guy she had ever met. He knew too much about sex, got drunk, and started far too many fights. He was a bad boy, but Kiera still wanted him in the worst kind of way.
Reese's life is lonely, despite always being surrounded by people. He's only wanted one thing, and that is Kiera Sheppard, the girl he has watched from afar for four years. As they grow closer, Reese wants to give her everything and show her he is worthy of her love. But his sordid past tears their bond and he doesn't know if he can redeem himself and show her she is the most important thing in his broken life.
*sigh* OK, I got conned by another high star rating with this one. I'll explain a bit why it was a miss for me.
For a book to be GREAT in my opinion, it has to have four things: SOLID writing. ie, even if I don't like the story perse, the writing can be admirable with good character development, thoughtful progression, attention to detail without redundancy and just a flat out talent for turn of phrase. And PLEASE research your details. Don't put something in print as fact that can easily be proven wrong.
SOLID editing. This isn't like solid writing. This is plain and simply not screwing up what could be a decent story with horrible grammar and speech patterns.
BELIEVABLE dialog. The characters cannot go around saying things that normal people do not say in every day speech.
A good STORY. Whatever mess the h/h in has to be something deep enough to actually cause problems for two people who are supposedly into each other or in love. None of those ridiculous issues that could be solved with one honest conversation, no stupid wrong place wrong time misunderstandings and no denial of feelings for no good reason.
This book half assed on the writing style and the editing. I could look past those two things if the dialog had been even halfway believable. It wasn't. High school kids (hell, GROWN folk) do not tearfully explain their feelings with their besties with phrases like "I fear I have pushed him away for good." Then there are the wrong details. Heroine (and I use that term lightly) walks into a party where the music is pegged as "Eminem rapping about bitches and hos" Now, I'm no Slim Shady expert, but I know enough of the man's stuff that I can say with relative confidence, that's not really his style. Anger? Absolutely. Some mysogeny? Sure. But the man is anything but typical and he doesn't throw that crap out there because he tends to be more creative when he chooses to bash a woman lol. Then there's the reaction to the second hand pot smoke she has the heroine describe. You would think the girl got shot up with something. Dizzy, stumbling, unable to control her limbs. Sounds like her attacker shot Everclear straight into her veins.
So ya, this was a miss for me. Sadly enough it was mostly the dialog that killed it because the premise of the book is GREAT. I love the bad boy whose sensitive under it all being hung up on the shy nerd. That's a beautiful concept and the fulfillment of many a high school girl dream. Too bad it got ruined by careless writing.
Reese is rough round the edges, tattooed, pierced, and known as the toxic bad boy with his boozing, man whore behavior and his devil may care attitude when it comes to taking down his opponent..The guys were afraid of him and the girls wanted to fuck him..But under that tough and rough exterior is a misunderstood lonely boy..
There was only one thing he wanted and that's always been Kiera..For four long years he watched her from a distance..
He wanted her in every conceivable way possible, mentally, emotionally and physically..
Reese was no good not for anyone, but especially not for Kiera Sheppard. He was toxic and wrong on so many levels, and exposing that kind of ugliness to something as sweet and kind as Kiera was a disaster in the making. He might be an asshole, but he wouldn’t ruin her.
The guy is bad boy but behind the bad ass persona is a kind, broken man. Surprisingly, He was genuinely nice and not the typical jerk I usually read. He liked Kiera for four years but because of his upbringing with drunken parents, he thinks that he wasn't good enough for her. (aww... tears up my heart!) I also find it cute that he's unsure, caring and vulnerable when it comes to Kiera.
The geeky awkward heroine...
Kiera Shephard is attracted to Reese Trenton but he's trouble with a capital T. He drank too much, slept around, and always seemed to be in fights. But for whatever reason, the most popular bad boy in school wanted her...
I like Kiera's character, she's your typical shy doormat girl but not to the point that you wanted to punch her on the face. LOL!
Overall Giving it to the Bad Boy is a quick, sweet-sexy read. I was quite hesitant to buy this as I don't usually read books from Evernight Publishing and I'm also not a fan of Jenika Snow. But so glad I took the risk because I love everything about this book! It's a typical love story but well written with loving characters! I actually cannot believe this is EVERNIGHT (because they publish hard core erotic yeah?) so I'm surprise coz this one is between YA/NA genre but hey! I'm not complaining! I love it so I'm giving this a 4 stars!
If you're a sucker for shy girl meets bad boy theme then this one is for you! Now I wonder if Alex (Kiera's big brother) will get his own story? I cannot wait. ^_^
This book is not what I expected, yes I knew there would be a hot tattooed guy and I really he would hoped he would be crazy in love with the heroine but I had no clue the couple would be in high school, I'm not saying this is bad because it worked and worked well I was just completely surprised that Jenika Snow wrote such a young hero and heroine. Jenika did a great job with this book she made me fall in love with Reese and want to protect him all at once, he is strong but guarded and damaged. The protection he feels for Kiera is one of my favorite parts about this book, she was his and he was going to do anything to keep her safe and happy.
Kiera and Reese have went to the same school together for four years but they couldn't be more different. When Kiera is dragged to a party she never would have thought that she would have almost been raped and she really never would have guessed that Reese would be the one to save her. She always wanted Reese but she would never be one of the girls who throw themselves at him, and Kiera knew that she would never be what Reese wanted.
Reese has known who Kiera is since the first day of school he has also known that she was way to good for him, but when she is almost hurt Reese steps in to protect her, and now he can't keep his feeling hidden any longer. As Kiera and Reese get to know each other they find out that the other person is nothing like they seemed and they quickly find themselves falling in love. But Kiera's coming departure and people from Reese's past may tear them apart when they have finally found what they were searching for.
I really liked this book, Jenika Snow once again wrote a fantastic book with both a great story and set of characters. Reese was nothing like the person everyone thought he was he was strong, protective and caring. Kiera wasn't a doormat and wasn't afraid to take a risk on the man she believed Reese to be. This was a great quick read that has a nice epilogue that satisfied my epilogue obsession. I hope the coming books in this series will be about Reese's friends and that we will get to see how Reese and Kiera are doing in the future. I highly recommend this for anyone who likes a book with a strong, possessive, hot, tattooed hero;}
So what do you think when you see the series called tattooed and pierced? A bad boy.
But I got was just a sweet sappy story with not the angst and bad ass that I was expecting.
I still liked the story it just wasn't what I expected is all and some areas fell a bit short for me.
Reese is the bad boy of the high school with shit parents and a huge heart.
Kiera is the smart girl not belonging to the in crowd.
Unbeknownst to each other but have secretly be crushing on one another.
Due to a potential situation that could have gone wrong Reese saves Kiera.
After this he finally has the chance to get to know her and win her heart.
"I'm not looking for your sympathy, but your acceptance." His eyes searched her, as if he could see into her soul. "Could you accept me for who I am, Kiera?"
Kiera and Reese quickly fall into a relationship until self doubt, stubbornness and a catty bitch get in the way causing them to fall apart.
"I want so much more with you, Kiera..."
Once they get over their stubborn ways and find their way back to one another then a bit of steam is unleashed.
Sweet story about two kids going against the norm and finding love.
"In my life, I've never loved anything more than you."
I am curious though to find out how the series is going to grow.
This book wasn't what I was expecting. I loved it, read it in one sitting. Reese is alpha\bad boy but completely compelling, sweet, romantic and not to mention hawt hero. He is from the wrong side of the tracks, is every girl's fantasy and is the opposite of Keira the shy geek girl.
I am not a fan of the New Adult/Young Adult genre but this story is the cutest! It is your typical high school bad boy meets and falls in love with shy geek girl story but hero was not your typical hero. He has a heart of gold, he is kind, vulnerable, sweet and totally smitten with Keira. Flawless hero and a true gentleman!
I was so mad at heroine for pushing him away. The reason I give this 4 stars is because there was no cheating whatsoever in this book. No stupid love triangles, or cheating hero/heroine. Kudos to the author for this! Just a simple heartwarming love story and a lovely epilogue.
Kiera is a good girl, good student and friend, she's not popular but that's mainly because she keeps to herself. Reese on the other hand is your typical bad boy, he's from the wrong side of the tracks, he's tattooed, he drinks, fights and goes through girls at an alarming rate. On paper they seem like such an odd couple but Kiera knows exactly who Reese is and surprisingly Reese knows Kiera they just need something to bring them together. I must admit I really enjoyed this book I loved the characters, the story just about everything, but that's not to say it's without it's faults it felt a little rushed, I wanted more but then I always feel like this at the end of Jenika's books.
Love triangle? Cheating? HEA? Any Descriptive Sex w/OW/OM/Ex? Would I read more by this author/or in this series? Maybe, but not for now. Rating: 3 stars
Review
I remember that I've read the second book in this series first and it was a bit better than this one. Loved how open H was to h about his past and demons, also you could see that he really cared for her. The h sometimes annoyed me but wasn't too bad. A quick, enjoyable read. :)
Giving it to the Bad Bay was the first book in Jennika Snow’s Tattooed and Pierced series. It was the second book I’ve read by Snow.
Kiera Sheppard was the beautiful, geeky girl that was quiet and managed to go unnoticed by most of her class. She had run ins with the popular girls and kept to herself most of the time, as a result.
Reese Trenton was the bad boy. He was popular, lusted after by all the girls and respected for his brute, take no prisoners attitude by all the guys.
Reese and Keira were both seniors but had never actually spoken to each other in the four years they’ve been to high school together. However, we learn quickly they were both very well aware of each other and once the connection was established it couldn’t be stopped.
It was the quintessential good girl meets bad boy. Bad boy doesn’t think he’s good enough, good girl sees underneath storyline. Snow even brought in some typical teenage drama.
I love the premise of the story. It’s a storyline that’s been around for awhile, but one I love none the less. I loved the rawness of Reese. He was blunt and honest, and I can’t leave out sexy. As for Kiera, I wanted more. She was funny, snarky and for a quiet girl, could hold her own. But she lacked depth. I would have liked to get to know her better through her interactions with Reese, but she was so quiet, she seemed shallow. It’s possible it was immaturity and the lacking of experience that kept her quiet, but I wanted more from her.
Additionally, there were quite a few editing errors that weren’t easy to overlook.
Otherwise, it was a fast paced and ultimately sweet read. We get to see Keira’s brother’s story, Alex, next up in Denying the Bad Boy.
I thought this was such a cute story. Granted, it's your typical high school bad boy story (bad boy, innocent girl fall in love) but it was very sweet. I absolutely loved Reese. Past the bad boy persona, is a guy with the biggest heart. He was a bad boy due to his troubling past; deep down inside he just really wanted to be loved. That's where Kiera comes in.
Reese had always admired Kiera from afar while Kiera has always had a crush on Reese. But they never actually spoken to each other. Reese thinks he isn't good enough for Kiera and Kiera thinks that Reese doesn't know she exists. Then one night at a party, Kiera is attacked and Reese saves her just like a white knight. *Swoon* lol. From there, their relationship grows into something special.
I feel like I say this with all the books I been reading lately, but I think it definitely could have been longer. I don't feel as if Reese and Kiera's relationship developed enough. They start off as strangers, then they go out as friends but turn it into a date, the book skips to a week later, than they are in a relationship. We don't really get to see their relationship grow. I NEED MORE!!! hehe Also their relationship "troubles" were kind of stupid. I don't know but I just wanted more drama.
But all in all I really enjoyed this story. The hero was a sweetheart and really made me swoon for him. I loved that he fell in love with the "nerdy" girl. I just loved Kiera and Reese in general. I hope we get to read more about Reese and Kiera in the next book of the series.
Just a few weeks away from graduating the boy who was the resident bad boy at school and way out of Kiera's league, saves her when she's attacked at a party. Kiera had wanted Reese Trenton since she first saw him four years ago, but she knew he would never be interested in a slightly plump girl who wore glasses. Whereas Reese was well over 6' tattooed and good looking. But after the night he saved her, he and Kiera started to get closer. Another girl who saw Reese as hers was determined to get him back.
This is a quick read, it did suffer a bit from that. This needed to be longer and fleshed out more. But having said that I did enjoy it. The author certainly knows how to draw the reader in. The chemistry was hot, every interaction between Reese and Kiera was so well written. I really felt involved with the characters and what was happening.
UPDATE The author has now added new content, a new cover, a new title and it is now no longer book 1 in the Tattooed and Pierced series, you can view it here She's Mine
This book started off okay for me, despite the unoriginal concept of bad boy man-whore and insecure good girl who are secretly interested in each other but who think the other is oblivious. But it fizzled. There just wasn't enough originality or depth added to the premise. There are many concepts thrown into the mix, but she doesn't do anything with them. For example, it is briefly mentioned that The heroine is heavy for her age and insecure, but beyond that quick moment of insecurity, it doesn't seem to affect anything.
The hero thinks a lot about his "void" and how the heroine is the only one who fills it, because all the OW only filled it temporarily. This backstory doesn't resonate because while you know he has a sad and violent home life, you don't really experience it. It's all told, not shown. The usual supporting characters are not fleshed out, but play the expected roles, including the card-board cut-out of the villain OW.
I lost interest and almost put it down. This book is okay if you want another sweet, shallow story about finding a HEA between two opposites, but it's nothing special.
Solid 3.5 fighting stars...This was such a nice, short and sweet read.If you are looking for a fast feel good read with characters you can relate to then this is one you dont want to miss.
Reese is the bad boy from the wrong side of the tracks. He has lived a tough life growing up with parents who left him to raise himself.HEs surviving the only way he knows how by pushing the pain away with fighting, partying and girls. He first noticed Kiera her freshman year and has wanted her ever since. He has always denied himself the one thing he wanted with the fear he wasnt good enough for her.
Kiera the quiet, shy girl who has always been the one in the background.Considered the geek in school she has always noticed the Reese from afar. When she is attacked at a party her Knight in shining armor is the one person she has always stayed clear from.
Reese gets his chance to prove to Kiera that he is worthy of her love while also showing her that he can be the guy she needs to fall back on and be herself.Watching her learn how to trust Reese and these two fall in love was such a thrill.

IF you are looking for a story that just puts a smile on your face with little angst then I would recommend reading this book. Its well wrote and a great story.I would have loved a little more with Reese as I loved everything that came out of his mouth.
This book was short and sweet and the perfect way to spend a few hours. I absolutely loved Reese he was amazing and sweet and perfect.
After a lifetime living in darkness Kiera was the light he thought he was too dirty to touch. Luckily she was as good as he thought and saw through it all.
Giving it to the Bad Boy is a must read for everyone looking for a few hours of sweet, hot yummyness that they will walk away from with a smile and a good mood and maybe a little horny ;)
I was very close to giving this book 2 stars (since Goodreads doesn't have half star ratings), but I felt that the book leaned a tiny bit more to 3 just because the book isn't bad...just unoriginal.
If you've read countless romance novels like I have, this book probably won't do much for you. It pretty much recycles some basic romantic novel elements like the bitchy cheerleader, the drop dead sexy bad boy who's been with numerous women, the lead virgin introvert female character, the 2 best friends that are dating each other, etc., etc. The plot also followed the same basic outline that most stories about "good girl falling for the bad boy" usually follow so everything was predictable. Not all novels that reuse a cookie cutter storyline are bad, but I felt that this particular book didn't stretch the boundaries enough or have any elements to make it absolutely special on its own.
Despite my lack of love and excitement for the book, I still recommend it...at least to specific readers. If you're looking for a book that doesn't tell the same old story, avoid this book. If you're new to the mature YA romance or haven't had enough reads in this genre, then go ahead and dive into this book because I'm sure you'll be entertained. Again, I'm not enraptured by this book not because it's bad, but because I've seen this way too many times to be interested unless some kind of crazy twist were added to it.
Overall: Bad boy + Geeky Good Girl = Hot and steamy short story love. The story begins with Kiera letting her friend talk her into going to a party because she doesn't get out EVER. While there she take a break from the party and goes outside just to be almost raped by some drunk guy, that knows her brother Alex. Reese comes to her rescue and beats the shit out of the guy and strangely to Kiera, it turns her on. Reese has always had a crush on Kiera since freshman year, but never did anything about it because he didn't think he was good enough for her. They go on date, that ends with kisses and leaves Reese wanting more from her. Kiera has to deal with a lot of bullshit in school from the cheerleaders because they don't think she is good enough for Reese and a certain cheerleader named Andrea has it in her mind that she should be with Reese because it will make her more popular. The only problem i had with this story was that the storyline was paced to fast. I wish the author would've slowed down a little bit and let a few weeks go by so certain situations could develop in a natural way. The ending was the best because we got to read about Reese and Kiera in a year later and see how their love bloomed. This was a short but fun read and I can't wait to read more books by Miss Snow.
The story basically is about a girl named Kiera who have a crush towards the bad boy of campus. And apparently the feeling is mutual.
I liked it, but it's too childish. The girl is constantly hanging with her best friend like a high school teenage, even the bad boy charm wasn't really winning me.
"I've done stuff I'm not proud of, rebelled, and hurt people, but none of that mattered...I'm not looking for your sympathy, but for your acceptance...Could you accept me for who I am, Keira? " (Reese, loc 1040)
Huh. Surprisingly liked it. Must have been in a mood for sweet bad boys and smart insecure girls. Either way, it was really good! But why did they have to be 18?!? -_-"
A little about the book(why you should NOT read it): So, he makes the mistake, but guess who apologizes ???? yes, as usual: her. So of course, the bad book sucked and then she still crawls to get a word from him later. Disgusting.
I am not a fan of the New Adult/Young Adult genre in books but Jenika is an auto-buy author for me so I honestly didn’t even think about it when I one-clicked it this morning without reading a sample. I’m a better reader for it, too. Initially, I was skeptical during the first chapter when I realized where this book was going but I soldiered on and I was completely sucked in. Keira is our heroine. She is shy, quiet, and smart. She is a wall-flower in high school and fixing to graduate in a few weeks. Reese is our very, very bad but completely compelling and not to mention hawt, hero. He is from the wrong side of the tracks, is every girl’s fantasy and is the opposite of Keira. Yet, unknowing to both of them, they have wanted each other from afar and one fateful night at a party their worlds come together in the most explosive of ways. Reese gently eases into a friendship, then more with Keira. It was one of the sweetest, yet hottest courtships I’ve read in quite awhile. Jenika created characters I had no problem understanding or relating to, which has been one of the most difficult issues I’ve had when attempting to read this genre in the past. The book was raw and real and quite simply a beautiful love story with some erotic, but not over-the-top moments thrown in. Combined with just a small amount of angst and a little bit of misunderstandings, this book becomes a force to be reckoned with in the New Adult/Young Adult genre. Ms. Snow has once again shown me why she has become a favorite author of mine and has shown me that sometimes stepping out of the box and taking a chance on something different, is totally worth the outcome. I give this 5 of 5 stars.
HOLY CRAP ON A CRACKER!!!!!!!! This book was frigin AWESONE, WONDERFUL, INTENCE, & RAW. All I did was keep my eyes pinned to this damn book. I was skeptical a fist that quickly went away, basically hooked from chapter one. Nerdy size 16 geeky good girl gets amazingly buff tattooed ass beating bad boy, what more could you want. His story was heart warming I think that's what pulled me to like his character more, even though he had a harm life at home he still managed to treat her with love and respect; and I love the way he was possessive and passionate about his girl.
What I loved about this book: OMG the sex scenes were CRAZ-AMAZE(call me what you want, but I like them to the detailed and descriptive)
The tension between them was like fire when they were around each other(im talking about if you look at me like that I will drop my panties right now look)
The story did included their life at home was well as at school(you could kind imagine their surroundings)
The action scene were spectacular(I like a man who know he will kick some serious ass if you talk dirty about his girl)
The only reason I didn't give this book five stars: It was a little short for my taste, its not rushed but I believe it could have been extended more.(IDK maybe I just didn't want the story to end)
There were a couple of typos but nothing major(not that its the author fault but some people are real anal about that)
