Not exactly sure what happened here. To be honest it really just didn't grab me. The conflict between the couple was so minor it was almost unnecessary. This book just didn't have the "hook" that all the others in the series have. The characters were fine Bane and Cole seemed well matched and a good fit. But in my opinion there need to be more emphasis on Bane's GFY status. His coming out to his "uber conservative" family was nonexisting...Normally in this series the sex scenes are EPIC and literally on fire and in this book they were continually on simmer... Not sure what happened here. I'm pretty bummed bc this is my favorite series. The book wasn't bad; just not great.....oh well I will still for sure read any and all other books in this series.

After Cole is injured on the job helping out the SWAT, he is sent for training. His trainer is Bane. The attraction between them is instant and strong. They soon move into a relationship with Bane as a Dom. It is Cole's first time at BDSM but he is all for it. They agree they are committed and bareback the first time they have sex. However there is something Bane hasn't told Cole and it breaks them apart for awhile. It is Cole's move to get them back together but he holds back unsure what to do. This ends when Bane is injured. They get back together and Bane asks Cole to marry him which he eagerly accepts.

These books are all the same: Not a lot of accuracy in either the police procedure or the BDSM, and the writing is a bit staccato, but the sex scenes are hot as hell.

It's actually pretty comforting to me that the stories are all pretty similar. It's just pretty pure entertainment, not exactly mindless, but just sexy fun.
