Mind-splitting, vivid hallucinations- the kind prone to induce night terrors and leave you whimpering under your covers like a baby.
The last thing on her mind is boys. Farley is on break from St. Judes’ when she meets Daniel. It’s not some casual run in at a party, or even a blind date with friends, though. Daniel is the guy stalking her in his 1970′s Dodge Charger; the guy standing at her window in the LA lunch hour traffic, determined on dragging her out of her truck.
The moment Farley lays eyes on Daniel, everything changes. However, regrettably for Farley, her life isn’t set to change for the better. She is drawn into a world that will shake apart everything she thought she ever knew. There are truths out there that she must learn: who her father really was, and what it means to have his blood flowing through her veins; that a person’s soul is their only real currency, and there are people who would do anything to take hers; that loving someone can hurt so much more than hating them; but, most importantly, when your future is predestined, there is little you can do to change it.

Her coming has been awaited for hundreds of years.

I went into this book with high hopes.
I have been in the mood for something different lately, and haven’t been able to find one that’s already in my kindle to read. I ran across this book, and read the blurb, then viewed the trailer. I’m a sucker for a good book trailer, (I know some people don’t dig them, but I do.) At this point I was certain this was the book I was looking for.
Well let me tell you, Frankie Rose delivered!!
This book in fact exceeded my expectations. I have kind of strayed away from YA books lately unless they’ve been Mature YA. Mostly because of the maturity level of the characters. I found the characters in this book to be absolutely wonderful! They were so much fun to read, from the H/h, Farley and Daniel, to the cast of secondary characters. Farley was so cute with her sassiness, and her inner dialogue, and she stepped up to the plate when it was time to be a tough girl. And who doesn’t love the mysterious brooding hero?? I absolutely fell in love with Daniel when he started letting the walls come down. These two made me smile a lot, and I loved the romantic element between them,
The Reavers, which are the most powerful among the immortals and they are the villains. I loved the simplicity of their background, and I didn’t need a glossary to follow the different types of Immortals. They’re slightly like vampires but they’re not. There is no blood exchange between them, they’re power comes basically from an exchange of energy if you will. There are the Immundus who are like minions for the immortals, and then there are the people who live in the Four Quarters who are basically the “lower class” of the immortals. They don’t have any significant powers, but do have the life span of thousands of years. Then there are the whytes which are basically an immortal abomination, they remind me of something straight out of “28 Days Later”.
Sovereign Hope started out with a bang, and kept my attention throughout. I had numerous questions swimming around in my head, but most were answered as the story unfolded. I found the pacing of the story perfect, and it’s loaded with action. I thought the author's descriptives were perfect in painting the scenes, from the colorful world in Aldan's head to the action scenes. This story is told in the 3rd person POV, which I loved. You get to see inside everyone’s head, and know what they're thinking and feeling. Now I adored Aldan and Agatha so much, and loved Beatty too, these are my favorite of the secondary cast. (My heart swells just thinking about them.) I can't express enough how much I loved this book, however; I did hug my kindle when I was finished and was disappointed that my time with these characters was over.
Anyway, This is a fantastic book, and I haven't been this excited about sharing a book in a while! I definitely recommend to those that enjoy a good YA read. I can’t wait for the next book!!

Sovereign Hope is a pretty nice and interesting read. While I did have some issues with the writing, primarily with the romance and sometimes a little on the heroine I can say that it had shown quite a number of potential to be a good series. Maybe just a little improvement here and there.
Farley was a character I couldn't identify with immediately. I wasn't sure what to really think of her character at first and it took me some times to get used to her. I don't know if she's tough or just really hardheaded. She did grow throughout the story though and I like that when awful and terrible things happened and even though she was extremely hurt, emotionally and physically, she wasn't the kind of character who moped around and succumbs to loneliness. She faced her problems, trained and made herself strong and useful.
Daniel was this gorgeous, hot and a bit of a jerk hero. He was secretive, arrogant and could be really harsh at times. He didn't quite appeal on me that much but when I learned of his story and his reasons behind that kind of facade I think I understand his character better.
Now for the romance, I had some issues here because most of the time it kinda feel a bit awkward for me. I didn't like the early assumptions of the other characters about the attraction between Farley and Daniel when there were so very little shown about that yet in the story. I also think there were more of tell than show. What they say about each other were a bit stated matter-of-factly so when Farley or Daniel started admitting to their selves that they are indeed attracted to one another it was a little hard for me to believe. Still, I wanted the two to be together and have a happy ending and I think the writing did improve towards the end.
The idea and concept of the Immortals were good but what I love the most here were the Whytes! They're creepy, deadly, sinister and gory. The way they were described was just enough to make the story a bit more thrilling and exciting. I just wished they played a bigger part in the story. lol!
Another thing, the ending felt like a bit cut short for me. But I guess it's okay, I don't really mind though. Overall, this was a pretty decent read. Although I wasn't overly thrilled and captivated by this book it still kept me entertained throughout the story. You might like this more than me especially if you're into paranormal books. :)

OMG OMG OMG!!!
I FINISHED THIS BOOK IN ONE NIGHT!!! I've never done that before. All i can say is that i enjoyed it I'm going to be a nightmare until the next book comes out. I loved the main characters. they were way more believable than some of the ones I've read about in books recently. Farley's amazing because she's strong and smart and she doesn't do retarded things every five minutes, which was refreshing.
Daniel was... sigh... so HOT! I really wish there had been more making out. If you're reading this Frankie Rose, more making out in the next book please!!! And soon!
The main characters weren't the only brilliant ones in this book. The other background people were great as well. I really connected with all of them.
I neeeeed the next book!! Does anyone know when it's coming out?

Like I said, Wow, just awesomely WOW. Loved this story! It was amazing, captivating, enticing, all those words that describe how I can gush about this book.
Farley Hope is just trying to find her mother. 6 months after her disappearance and no word on what happened to her, Farley is being chased. She’s not paranoid. Literally, a black SUV full of big bad dudes have come for her in the middle of the road in L.A. standstill traffic. What do they want? And who is this breathtaking handsome man named Daniel who rescues her?
Fleeing with Daniel and a woman named Agatha for her life, Farley discovers there is a whole other world under the City of Angels, and her link to it may be her demise. Reavers, who steal people’s souls, rule this underground city, and Farley is something of an anomaly to them, and they want her dead! But why?
Wow, what a ride, I loved every word of this book. It was that good. The characters are well written, you feel their emotions and their hardships at every turn. Frankie Rose weaves a story that brings you into another world easily and makes you want to know what is coming around the corner next. It has action, a touch of romance, amazing descriptions of scenery and some not so nice villains. I rooted for Farley and Daniel the whole way. I cannot, and I mean CANNOT wait for book 2 to fall into my clutches and see what they go through next. Very intense!

Review:
First off I would like to take this time to thank Frankie Rose for sending me a copy of Sovereign Hope to review. When I first read the blurb for Sovereign Hope I was instantly intrigued, I wanted to find out more about the book because there was just…something.
I am sure you all have had moments like those, where you just have that feeling that you know you will end up loving the book. But if the blurb wasn’t enough to get my attention, once I received the copy and saw the cover, it had me diving into the story right away. You see to me, the cover of a book makes a big impression, if the cover is well done and grabs my attention alone or aside from the blurb I am automatically sold.
I loved the personality that Frankie Rose created for Farley the main female protagonist, for months she has been desperately awaiting any information into her mothers disappearance, getting no answers or leads you can sense her frustration, but if worrying for her mothers safety wasn’t enough she has to worry about her own, she being followed but doesn’t understand why until she meets Daniel and Agatha, that is when Farley is dragged into a whole new world where only she can put an end to the reign of the Reavers. Farley’s relationship with Daniel is quite intense, their interaction with one another seems like they really dislike each other, but secretly Daniel is harboring feelings for her but knows that if he were to act on those feelings it can lead to betrayal and punishment, he wants to keep Farley safe and to do so, he must keep his distance.
I loved how right from the beginning you are sucked right in, Frankie Rose does not give you any chance to wonder away, she keeps your attention and she keeps it well. Right from the start you have action that will have you wide eyed and anticipating the characters next move.
This book is filled with plenty of action and romance that will have you reading through the night, you know that saying “Just one more chapter” or in my case that I kept saying “Just two more chapters”, those one or two more chapters will turn into 7 more chapters before you know it.

Sovereign Hope is the first book in the Hope series by Frankie Rose. When approached about being part of this blog tour, I was excited to be part of it. Just from reading the synopsis, I knew I would like this book. I wasn't wrong. It was one of the best books I've read so far this year. I'm going to try hard not to gush, but I'm not making any promises, guys.
Sovereign Hope is a fast-paced, suspenseful thrill ride from beginning to end. It had all the ingredients a great book has; lots of action, some romance, captivating characters, unique plot, lots of humor and heart. It was so well written, you feel like you are in the midst of all the action. It really is the ideal book for me.
The characters are complex and likable; very well developed. Daniel is my new favorite book boy. He is just a phenomenal character. His sarcasm and somewhat cranky demeanor mask a really sweet guy and you can't help but adore him. (Or at least I couldn't.) Where to start with Farley-she is such an amazing character; strong, determined, brave, funny & loyal to those she loves. Her entire world has been flipped upside down but she doesn't lay around and cry about it. She goes after answers! She is determined to find out what happened to her mother and she doesn't dwell on what harm could come to her in the process. That selflessness coupled with her tenacity make her a wonderful character to read about.
The story is told from the points of view of both Farley and Daniel and I loved being able to see the story come to life from both their perspectives. This book is jam-packed full of action and I never saw the twists coming at all. The romance was SO well done, too. Not overly hearts and flowers but realistic to the situation the characters are in. I just loved it!! This is probably the very best book I've read so far this year, I cannot wait for the second book!
If you love paranormal young adult books then this one is definitely for you! A must read in my book!

I felt so privileged to be among the first to get a sneak peek at this book. Being a bit older than the intended audience (ahem) I wasn't sure if I'd be able to fully immerse myself in YA Land. And as you can probably tell from the books on my reading list, I'm not normally a big fantasy gal either.
But...this book sucked me in right from the start and kept me intrigued til the last page. The characters were so wonderfully rounded, and I really connected with both Farley and Daniel straight away.
Farley is a force to be reckoned with, and she's got a lot of guts. There's a scene that I adore, it takes place in the hotel pool(you'll know it when you get there!) and I think that's when we get a real glimpse into Farley's inner strength. She does what she has to do, and you get the feeling she senses the "bigger picture" of what's going on, even if she doesn't fully understand it yet.
I thought the character of Aldan was really interesting, and I would have liked to see more from Daniel about his feelings towards Aldan's storyline. But I guess that's the kinda guy Daniel is - he's guarded with his feelings.
I'm really excited to read the next books in the series. Particularly as I think it will give us a chance to see more from some of the other characters like Tess, Oliver and Kayden (who I also have a bit of a crush on!).
The book ramps up the suspense and action in all the right places. I liked that things are explained when needed, but the storyline never gets interrupted in order to give us a detailed backstory etc. She doesn't let minor details get in the way of a good action sequence, and I always trusted that if something was a bit vague we would get to the bottom of it eventually!

I really liked this book. I'm glad Frankie gave me the chance to read and review it and be apart of her blog tour. <3 A million thank you's to her gorgeous self! Sovereign Hope is different from your typical YA book. It has a pretty cool plot twist and is awesomely written.
The world of Sovereign Hope is total excitement. Dark, dangerous, and thrilling. It's new and it's very neat. I loved Frankie's writing. There's a city under the city which SH is set in. And there's these people called The Immortals, and that's exactly what they are, they're immortal, and they harbor supernatural abilities. Then there's these people called The Reavers. A scary race that only wreaks havoc on people...such as Farley Hope. ;) Then there's these things calls Whytes. Which actually scared the shit out of me when I read the description of one of them. The picture in my head was not one for a small child. THEY'RE SCARY. Let's just leave it at that. xD
Characters. The heroine. Farley Hope is pretty likable girl. She's a bit too stubborn and hard-headed, if you ask me. But she's tough. And it was definitely stated in the book. Literally. She gets flustered easily, but it's predictable since you're learning so quickly about a city that's under a city. But I like her. c:
Daniel... He's arrogant, lol. I was beginning not to like him, to be honest. Throughout the first sixty-percent of the book. But then, I warmed up to him; his shy and sweet side came out. And he was quite cute. :D I knew that Daniel was the love interest even before I read the book, but I liked how we didn't seen signs that Farley and Daniel felt anything for each other until well over half way through the book. And that was because of Daniel's jerkiness. xD He's black-haired, and green-eyed, and described as hot as a Calvin Klein model. Not really my favorite combination in hair and eyes, but it'll do. ;3
Agatha is your typical mother-like figure. She watches out for everybody and cares for them. I was definitely warming up to her until the end of the book. D< Damn you, plot twist, you came out of nowhere. xD And Aldan. He's my favorite character in the book. <3 There's not much that was said about him, because, well, he was in a coma. But alas! There's a twist. ;) He was definitely a good character to add in this story, and I loved him. I hope he comes back, but I know he won't. D:
There were a few things in the book that is my reason to not giving this a five-star rating. Some things seemed too fast paced, like the part where Beatty and his gang came in. That was so abrupt I thought I missed something in the last chapter or two. And the ending was pretty sudden too. And it did end off in a cliffhanger. But in some ways I liked the fast-paced nature of this book, because there was never a moment in it that wasn't packed with action and kept you reading. That's what I gotta have. And Frankie delivered it. :D Thank you again, Frankie, for giving me this chance!

Daniel... He's arrogant, lol. I was beginning not to like him, to be honest. Throughout the first sixty-percent of the book. But then, I warmed up to him; his shy and sweet side came out. And he was quite cute. :D I knew that Daniel was the love interest even before I read the book, but I liked how we didn't seen signs that Farley and Daniel felt anything for each other until well over half way through the book. And that was because of Daniel's jerkiness. xD He's black-haired, and green-eyed, and described as hot as a Calvin Klein model. Not really my favorite combination in hair and eyes, but it'll do. ;3
Agatha is your typical mother-like figure. She watches out for everybody and cares for them. I was definitely warming up to her until the end of the book. D< Damn you, plot twist, you came out of nowhere. xD And Aldan. He's my favorite character in the book. <3 There's not much that was said about him, because, well, he was in a coma. But alas! There's a twist. ;) He was definitely a good character to add in this story, and I loved him. I hope he comes back, but I know he won't. D:
There were a few things in the book that is my reason to not giving this a five-star rating. Some things seemed too fast paced, like the part where Beatty and his gang came in. That was so abrupt I thought I missed something in the last chapter or two. And the ending was pretty sudden too. And it did end off in a cliffhanger. But in some ways I liked the fast-paced nature of this book, because there was never a moment in it that wasn't packed with action and kept you reading. That's what I gotta have. And Frankie delivered it. :D Thank you again, Frankie, for giving me this chance!

I was all over the map with my feelings on this story for awhile, but in the end I really liked the characters and enjoyed where the story went. My rating is somewhere between a 3.0-3.5 stars since there were some aspects of it that I didn't like.
Sovereign Hope starts out with a bang, so I was expecting this to be a thrill-ride of a story, but it slowed down a lot after the opening scene shocker. Farley is dealing with the strange visions she sees, desperately hoping her mother is somewhere out there waiting to be found, when suddenly her life is thrown into turmoil when a car accident turns into a sprint for her life. Daniel shows up in her life with his indifferent attitude, saving her life one moment and giving her the cold shoulder the next, frustrating Farley to no end. And the more she realizes he and his ally Agatha are keeping from her, the more difficult it is for her to just sit around and do nothing. When Farley finally gets some answers from their injured Immortal friend Aldan, she realizes there is much more to her role in the fight against his kind than she ever realized.
The concept of the Immortals and the Soul Reavers was unique, and I loved the 'dream world' that Aldan lived in as he was in his coma. Frankie Rose created an eerie fantasy world that was just captivating. I really enjoyed Daniel, Agatha, and Aldan, their pack-like mentality and unusual existence made them a fascinating part of the story. And Farley was a tough cookie, putting up with so much uncertainty and staying strong despite the incredibly terrifying world she'd been thrust into.
I must admit, I got really frustrated with the fact-telling parts of this story because there seemed to me a never-ending number of them. Supernatural and mythological stories always have a certain amount of background and history that has to be told to make the story make sense, but there was so much of it here I just got bored and had to skim at times. And the romance between Farley and Daniel seemed to come from nowhere and fizzle out before it even got started, so it never really resonated with me. Daniel was so cold with her so often, and yes he had his reasons, but it made it hard to want them together. I hate to say this, because the concept was great for this story and I did really like the characters. I just didn't feel the sparks as much as I would have hoped. Overall, it was a unique story with a lot of unexpected twists, and I may pick up the sequel just to see where things lead.

There is an entirely different world of super humans living beneath the city? Farley is a part of some ancient prophecy? What's a girl to do when all she wants is to find out what happened to her mother and get back to her normal life?
Sovereign Hope is definitely one of the best indies I've read this year and truthfully one of the best in the genre I've read in awhile. Mainstream YA has really let me down the past few years and it is a relief to read something where the characters and their reactions feel realistic and where the heroine doesn't play the damsel in distress. Farley may not be a sneaky ninja, an irresistible vamp, or an all-powerful slayer, but she still manages to contribute to the group. She doesn't just suddenly find out she has supernatural roots and become insta-cool. Her character arc shows that she has worked at and earned her badassery. And the best part is she remains relatable.
I'm not gonna lie, Daniel was what got me to start reading this and although I enjoyed the book for its many other assets, he really made the book for me. He's snarky, and sexy, and tries to keep his distance from Farley and not because, "he is no good for her," but because he can't let himself get to close without risking blowing things for himself. I guess what I'm trying to say here is it's not all about Farley. Too often the heroine dominates the book as far as importance. No other character could possibly be as important as her, she's a super special snowflake, blah blah blah. In Sovereign Hope Farley knows her worth and the worth of her comrades and doesn't take that for granted.
This was a nice start to a new series that has a lot of potential. I'm looking forward to reading the next book in the series, Eternal Hope to see what happens to Farley, Daniel, and their companions!

First I would like to thank Frankie Rose writing such an incredible read! I finished the book and I was like what the heck, wait a minute I need more! Frankie has crafted a world like no other. It had me on the edge of my seat the whole time I was reading it. I had to put it down for a few hours and I was dying to get back to it. There are a lot of major players in this book so this review is going to be a little different because I don't want to spoil it for anyone but I want to give you a little background to who the major players are in the story.
Farley is just your average teen going to school and hanging out with her best friend Tess. She has these visions and nightmares that give her major migraines which she has to take medicine for. She lives with her mother and has a pretty normal life until her mother goes missing without a trace. Farley is desperate to find her mother and in the process finds out that her mother kept some secrets involving Farley and her father.
Then one day while Farley is searching for her mother she notices she is being followed. When she becomes trapped in traffic she realizes that she has to get away before the bad guys get her. Then she crashes into a car and curses under her breathe but the guy comes to the window and that is when Farley's normal life changes and she meets Daniel. Daniel tells Farley that she is safe and that she should go with him. Farley is skeptical of him at first but she learns that he may hold the answers to what happened to her mother.
Daniel introduces Farley to his family which is Agatha and Aldan. As things start to unravel Farley will have to figure who to trust and how to survive. She will learn some secrets that will either make her or break her and she will have to decide what she is going to. What do you do when everyone wants your soul? Do you give it away of do you keep it? Will she be able to trust Daniel? Who is this mysterious Oliver and Kayden? What role do they play in her quest to find her mother?
I could go on forever but I will not. I will say this this is a must read! I promise you will not be disappointed.

Sovereign Hope is one of those books that once you start reading, you just can’t stop. I was instantly drawn to the story from the very first page.
One of the reasons why I was instantly intrigued by the book was the fact that Farley is destined to die. But of course, I knew she isn’t going to die because she’s the main character and what is a story without a main character, right? However, I picked the book because I was interested to know how the plot would turn and twist.
“I’ve been waiting for those creepy guys to show up here and kidnap me. So please,” I begged, “tell me who you are and what you’re doing in my house.”
The story is told in both Farley’s and Daniels point of view, which gives us two different perspective of the story. It also explains their actions and their true feelings.
My favorite character is Daniel. I have a thing for guys with dark, sullen past. They seem more mysterious, which makes me easily drawn to them.
He’d broken into my house to slit my throat in my sleep, but had found time to fix up a snack first. And taken off his pants. The nerve!
Daniel is a lot of things, he can be pretty mean to Farley, or he can be the most romantic guy ever.
“We’ve got a war about to be unleashed here. One I’m going to die for. One where you and I are an impossibility. So I don’t get to tell you that I love you. And you don’t get to look at me like that.”
And sometimes he can say the most beautiful yet the saddest thing.
“It’s a beautiful dream, love. But some dreams just cost too much.”
The ending was as great as the beginning of the book. The book captivated me up to the last word. Though there are still some mysteries unsolved, questions unanswered and I can’t wait to read the next book.

Wow! This was a fantastic YA story and the cover is very eye catching! It takes a lot to wow me when it comes to YA but this book was amazing! Enter the world full if immortals but not the usual kind you read about....
Sovereign Hope starts out with a girl named Farley, her Mother left work early one day and hasn't been seen since and that was six months ago. Farley is just shy of turned 18 and is in her last year of High School, her best friend Tess is all she has left since her Father died before she was born.While on her way home one day she realizes that she's being followed, in her haste to get away she doesn't realize the vehicle in front of her has stopped and she slams into the back of them.The events that unfold have Farley questioning reality especially a boy trying to save her named Daniel.
Farley finds out the people after her are Reavers, Immortal people who live in tunnels under the city and steal Mortals life forces. I loved how the story developed and the way the plot really thickens with each bit of knowledge Farley collects. Daniel does everything he can to keep Farley safe from the Reavers even going against his heart. The pull with these two characters is intense and the secondary character's are fantastic as well! Farley tries to deny her attraction while Daniel thinks by pushing her away that she will not give into her feelings. Daniels a bad boy that everyone is going to love.
I highly recommend getting a copy of this book, I'm sure my review doesn't do the book justice but I hope it's enough to intrigue your curiosity. Full of action, a love that tries to be denied and the discovery of an underground world that Farley has ties to. Oh and of course Daniel!

Okay, here I go again.
I was planning on write this review since the day I finished reading the book, but guess what? It didn’t come good.
Every time I start writing I ended up repeating the “I loved it” phrase. And you know that’s really annoying!
Once again I don’t want to say a lot about the plot cuz it was so unique that I want you to live the thread getting caught surprised of such amazing scenes and characters.
Did I say that I loved Daniel? Naw, I haven’t mentioned him!
Well, Daniel is that dark and mysterious guy stalking Farley at the beginning of the book. AND HE IS HOT!
Yeah, that kind of sarcastic and tormented hot… yep, one of those we love.
Frankie Rose introduce us into an amazing and unexpected world. With powerful people that won’t stop till they get your soul *creepy* Oh yeah, and they are immortal.
Evil immortals, hot guys, smart heroine… still don’t catch it?
Ugh! In that case I have to mention Kayden… But who is Kayden? He is a boy with a bittersweet relationship with Daniel, I still know too little about him, but the most important: HE IS HOT AS WELL.
Oh my! Now I have to stop talking about hotness, but how can I do that? THIS IS YOUR FAULT FRANKIE!!!!
And back again to the main topic. Sovereign Hope (which title I always write bad! *smile* I’m a Latin girl!) is an exquisite story.
Well-writing, with incredible characters, and a strong voice.
The ending was powerful, not a heartbreaking, but a lot of actions scenes one.
So, I said YAY!!! After the last page.

Severely disappointed. This was not what I had expected from the blurb. The whole book was basically Farley moping around in a bland, underground cavern. There was some action at times but it wasn't enough for a good suspenseful read.
The writing was poor, in my opinion and sometimes I found it hard to comprehend what she was trying to say. I don't mean to insult the author, but that was just something that bothered me a bit.
I did like Kayden though and would've liked to explore his character more, but that didn't happen. I'm guessing he will play a bigger part in Eternal Hope though.
Basically, throughout the whole book, I kept wondering when it was going to end. The only thing that kept me going was the fact that it was rated an average of over 4 stars. I really, really hoped I would like it more as I kept reading on, but unfortunately not.

Wow, wow, wow!!! I. Absolutely. Loved. This. Book! I won't say it reeled me in on the first page, but by the third page, I had a hard time putting this book down.
I loved the characters as well especially Farley, Agatha, and Daniel. I felt they were all well developed characters.
Yes, there is a bit of a love story going on but it doesn't take over the whole book which is nice. It's more of a backstory. There was also plenty of action.
This is definitely one of my favourite reads of forever! I'd definitely recommend this book. I can't wait until the second in the series comes out.

Oh man! This was such a smashing book! I had to force myself to stop and write this review before diving right into book 2. I miss Farley & Daniel already! Farley was so brave and steady from the very beginning. Most people in her shoes would've fallen apart but she kept her faith and kept pushing forward no matter what. And what can I say about Daniel? He's an arrogant, rude, too-sexy-for-his-own-good, badass. I fell in love with him immediately. Their chemistry together was...well.. tense. Unsettling. But positively electrifying. And I absolutely can't wait to find out what else is in store for them and their fabulous friends.

♥Initial thoughts:
Celeste: Oooh, action! But I want to know what is going on. Oooh, romance. Who is the hot guy with all that chemistry with Farley?
Christina: Oooh, pretty cover! (My cover-loving heart rejoices!) Immediately the action began which had me excited because I like fast paced stories, but I ended up feeling a little lost in all the hustle and bustle. I had to keep reading, though, because this hero is rather intriguing- mysterious, dark, handsome… oh yes.
♥The story:
Celeste: We only got bits and pieces as we went along. I always enjoy a little mystery. Farley’s mother disappeared six months ago and now she is being chased down. The police don’t even seem to help or care. Right away I’m intrigued. It gets even more interesting when a gorgeous dark haired, muscles rippling green-eyed guy with a serious attitude saves her. Before I wanted to know, but now I NEED to know who was after her and why, and more importantly, who is this guy?!
Overall this story it is a steady build up with plenty of action. Although I was anxious for answers we only got information in a trickle…well done by the author because I kept turning the pages wanting more tidbits. In the end I think there were 2 sets of bad guys: the Reavers and the Quorum.
Christina: There’s a world below the one we know as our own, a city divided into four factions and those are all centered around the Tower, the place where the Soul Reavers rule. Reavers are an immortal race that gathers their power through consumption of another individual’s life force- their soul. Greedy and seeking the eternal high the comes with taking another person’s life, they’ll stop at nothing to make sure their bloodline flourishes and that they forever maintain dominance over the other inhabitants. They’re only true concern is an old prophecy that heralds of their demise, the birth of a female Reaver– which seems highly unlikely because for as long as the Reavers have been in existence, they’ve only ever produced male heirs– and a special talisman. Enter Farley Hope. Everything she thought she knew about her life is about to come to a dramatic halt, and it all begins with her mother’s disappearance and a boy named Daniel.
♥ The Romance
Celeste: Most of the book I was thinking: I love this romance!! The sexual tension is fabulous and the immediate attraction is intense. Daniel is brooding, secretive and cocky. For example: the guitar strap quote. oh my oh my oh my. I really like Daniel. Then, about ¾ of the way through it went a teensy bit flat for me. It went from serious physical chemistry to professing love. I struggled with that in that it didn’t seem realistic. Well, maybe it is for teenagers and maybe because the whole situation was desperate? They went from restraining themselves to letting it all hang out there. However, maybe it’s all just set up for book 2, and while I still like them as a couple, I prefer the cocky Daniel over the sentimental one. Yes, I love the bad boy. :D
Christina: I wanted so much to like these two together, but their relationship felt a little forced and rushed. They were having these huge declarations of love and I felt like they had only just met. In Daniel’s case, I could almost excuse this because his circumstance was different, he’d watched her secretly for some time, but with Farley, it was a harder love to sell. ♥ the ending
Celeste: It definitely got interesting, while it’s tied up enough to end in a good place, there is so much more to the story. What about Farley’s mom? I have a lot of theories there!
Christina: This is where the story progressed the most for me. I loved the addition of the Whytes, and the lore about how and why they were created. My heart was pounding in the last few pages, curious to how everything would end and in whose favor. I was still left with so many questions, but it also felt like the story was wrapped up neatly enough that I wasn’t left completely hanging.
♥ Anything you didn’t love?
Celeste: While sometimes the plot was very clear, for example: the prophecy (it was great that the author repeated it so I didn’t have to go back), but other times I wasn’t sure what was going on and felt confused. Overall the story was good, but I definitely couldn’t always follow. Maybe it would have been easier if it had been in 1st person and not 3rd. However, I am super biased and just adore 1st person.
Christina: I completely agree. In some cases, mostly during the action sequences, the story was harder for me to follow who was doing what. I, too, was curious to whether the story would have flowed better had it been written in first person, but I didn’t enjoy getting to see snippets from the other characters.

Christina: I would. While the beginning dragged a bit for me, it picked up soon and I really enjoyed the last half of the story. I think the author was definitely able to work through some of the kinks I saw in the first portion of the story. I’m looking forward to seeing how the story unfolds after this, seeing as several balances appear to have been upset by that climatic ending.

♥Initial thoughts:
Celeste: Oooh, action! But I want to know what is going on. Oooh, romance. Who is the hot guy with all that chemistry with Farley?
Christina: Oooh, pretty cover! (My cover-loving heart rejoices!) Immediately the action began which had me excited because I like fast paced stories, but I ended up feeling a little lost in all the hustle and bustle. I had to keep reading, though, because this hero is rather intriguing- mysterious, dark, handsome… oh yes.
♥The story:
Celeste: We only got bits and pieces as we went along. I always enjoy a little mystery. Farley’s mother disappeared six months ago and now she is being chased down. The police don’t even seem to help or care. Right away I’m intrigued. It gets even more interesting when a gorgeous dark haired, muscles rippling green-eyed guy with a serious attitude saves her. Before I wanted to know, but now I NEED to know who was after her and why, and more importantly, who is this guy?!
Overall this story it is a steady build up with plenty of action. Although I was anxious for answers we only got information in a trickle…well done by the author because I kept turning the pages wanting more tidbits. In the end I think there were 2 sets of bad guys: the Reavers and the Quorum.
Christina: There’s a world below the one we know as our own, a city divided into four factions and those are all centered around the Tower, the place where the Soul Reavers rule. Reavers are an immortal race that gathers their power through consumption of another individual’s life force- their soul. Greedy and seeking the eternal high the comes with taking another person’s life, they’ll stop at nothing to make sure their bloodline flourishes and that they forever maintain dominance over the other inhabitants. They’re only true concern is an old prophecy that heralds of their demise, the birth of a female Reaver– which seems highly unlikely because for as long as the Reavers have been in existence, they’ve only ever produced male heirs– and a special talisman. Enter Farley Hope. Everything she thought she knew about her life is about to come to a dramatic halt, and it all begins with her mother’s disappearance and a boy named Daniel.
♥ The Romance
Celeste: Most of the book I was thinking: I love this romance!! The sexual tension is fabulous and the immediate attraction is intense. Daniel is brooding, secretive and cocky. For example: the guitar strap quote. oh my oh my oh my. I really like Daniel. Then, about ¾ of the way through it went a teensy bit flat for me. It went from serious physical chemistry to professing love. I struggled with that in that it didn’t seem realistic. Well, maybe it is for teenagers and maybe because the whole situation was desperate? They went from restraining themselves to letting it all hang out there. However, maybe it’s all just set up for book 2, and while I still like them as a couple, I prefer the cocky Daniel over the sentimental one. Yes, I love the bad boy. :D
Christina: I wanted so much to like these two together, but their relationship felt a little forced and rushed. They were having these huge declarations of love and I felt like they had only just met. In Daniel’s case, I could almost excuse this because his circumstance was different, he’d watched her secretly for some time, but with Farley, it was a harder love to sell. Pulse pounding action, kick ass female lead, breakout originality, smoking hot Daniel, frustrating romance…all equate to an extreme read...
Within the first 6 pages of this book I was doused with the inability to stop (or sleep). From reading the synop on GoodRead’s I already had a pretty good feeling I would, at the minimum, enjoy this book. I, by no means, was prepared for how MUCH I would enjoy this book. So much so that I’m quite sure that this has made it on to my top reads for 2012. SOVEREIGN HOPE is packed with action, paranormal, romance and (even though it’s not listed on GoodReads as this…) a dystopia feel. The mixture of the plot and world that Frankie created was such a fresh, strong combination that I was enthralled. From the action contained within those first 6 pages to the sometimes hair-pulling-ly dumb decisions Farley makes, I was bought, packaged, signed and delivered to this read.
You can read the synop above and get a pretty good feeling for the story line behind SOVEREIGN HOPE, but, in all honesty, it doesn’t relate the maturity behind the story and writing. While the writing isn’t perfect, it contained something that was so far beyond me that I will consider it excellent, mature, advanced, spectacular, etc. I was totally expecting my typical YA read and while it does maintain the aspects of YA that I love; action, romance and some complicated paranormal plot. It also embraced writing that was far beyond what I ever get. Part of what lacks in a lot of YA reading to me is vocabulary. I like writing that has description that is outside “the basics” and please don’t ask me what those are, actually go pick up a top 10 YA Fiction book and you decide. Frankie, I don’t know if she picked up a dictionary and thesaurus when she started writing or if she just really practiced those SAT words, either way it totally paid off. The use of a strong descriptive vocabulary mixed with the action packed adventure she takes you on equaled one heck of a debut novel for this writer. And fear not my un-complex vocabulary friends, it’s not so advanced that you get lost, Frankie hit the sweet spot with words that go beyond description but don't require you to Google every 6 words to figure out what it means!
The other main thing that made this go over the top for me was the characters. So much recently within the paranormal romance genre I’ve experienced the “missing love interest syndrome”. This is where said main character meets boy, but we never get to KNOW him. I don’t know, maybe I want too much of well-rounded reading experience, regardless, Frankie didn’t lack. Daniel was a phenomenal complement to Farley and, while he is left with some “air of mystery”, he’s there, he’s involved and we get to know a bit about him, in the first book, not the last. Oh and let me also add of freaking sweet and frustrating the romance is! AGH Daniel was for sure one of the hotter YA hottie's I've read and I can't wait for more! Frankie also was able to introduce a semi-large group of characters without too many people getting left behind. So much was maintained with in the pages of this book that I have no other way to put it than OUTSTANDING!
In closing I will leave you with this, while this may be listed as Young-Adult, I will venture to tag New-Adult. Between the excellence in writing and the diverse plot and characters, it supersedes what I consider Young-Adult. While it lacks in the more advance romance plots that new-adult fiction contains, you got take some to get some.
So now I’m gonna tack The Hope Series on my must read list and patiently wait for Frankie Rose to put the finish touches on ETERNAL HOPE…that’s a joke…I’m not patient…so please go read this and let me know when you’re done so we can gush about it to hold me over!

Review: I loved this novel! I actually was so into it on my iPad on one of the flights home from NYC that the flight attendant had to wave her hand in front of the screen to get my attention! I gave her my: What this book rocks, you should be jealous! Look! Anyways I am freaking hooked. I actually go up to my travel partner and say; “Hey Tirzah, listen to this!”. At this point of my review I am starting to see a pattern and I need you to bear with me through my punctuation errors!
Farley Hope is now added to one of my favorite characters of all-time list. I loved how frank she was with everyone, and how her actions are totally rational for someone in her position. I also didn’t mind the super-hot love interest Daniel! I mean I could marry this guy, brooding stare and all! The growth in Farley’s character was tremendous; she morphed from a shy, timid girl into a strong, force to be reckoned with.
The only thing I did notice, was at times, there were passages that were a bit wordy. I didn’t really mind it though, I can see why they were written that way. The action was rapid and then it would ease up for character development at the perfect places. I was easily ensnared by Frankie Rose’s debut novel and am biting my nails for book two!!
p.s. I now know how to spell Sovereign from this review. That second ‘e’ and that tricky ‘I’ are breaking the ‘I’ before ‘e’ except after ‘c’ rule!

First of all, I have to thank author Frankie Rose for giving me the opportunity to read her debut novel a month early. This was so exciting for me; my first ever review request! I can’t express enough how grateful I am for this opportunity. On the other hand, I do feel the need to say that the fact that I received a copy of this book for review did not influence my opinion on this book in any way, shape, or form. Therefore all opinions stated in this review are mine and mine alone. Now that we’ve established that, I have to say that I completely and totally enjoyed Rose’s debut novel, Sovereign Hope!
The story is told in third person, which I initially didn’t like but later started to appreciate. I feel like this story is so complex and has so many unique characters that demand attention, so it makes sense for the story to be told this way because it really allows the reader to get into the heads of the main characters, especially Farley and Daniel. I loved Farley’s headstrong personality and the passion that dictated her actions. She really is so strong and was the perfect heroine for this story. Her relationship with Daniel, who pretty much exemplifies the words ‘brooding’ and ‘mysterious’, was sweet and exciting to read about, especially because I really couldn’t help but love Daniel. He puts on such a hard exterior through most of the book, but there are moments when cracks appear in that exterior and you get to see the vulnerable, caring side of him as well. Most of the supporting cast of characters deserve praise as well; Agatha and Aldan were particularly well-written and endearing, and I wish I had gotten to spend a bit more time with the other underground characters that appear closer to the end of the book, as well as Tess and Oliver.

Overall it’s fast enough to capture your attention but not so fast that the reader is left totally and utterly lost, though sometimes it sped up unexpectedly and I was a little disoriented as to what was actually going on. Each scene is described so perfectly, it’s easy to envision everything that’s happening. Frankie Rose has such an amazing writing style: clear, descriptive, captivating. She’s built a world that she explains so comprehensively - sometimes to the point that it seems almost like an information dump - that it really made me appreciate all the complexities within it. While I was reading, I had a lot of questions spinning around in my head. Rose includes a few scenes at the beginning that reveal just a tiny bit of information, setting up the stage for the rest of the story and leaving the reader with much more curiosity. I really liked that Rose didn’t answer these questions immediately; rather, the answers were revealed slowly, interspersed throughout the story in just the right places. Sometimes those revelations left me with more questions, but the overarching mystery is just one of the things that makes you want to keep reading.
This was such a pleasure to read and once again I have to thank the author for letting me read her book early! This new series is one to keep an eye out for; I know I’ll definitely be watching out for Book #2!

When I first started reading this book, I wasn't quite sure what to expect. For one thing, it just jumps right into the action without any build-up, so I started out just as confused as Farley about what the heck was going on. And you know what? It worked. Because I had to figure out what was going on, just like Farley. It wasn't long before I was totally sucked into the story. And what a story it is!
I read a lot of books with paranormal elements, adult and young adult alike, and I am constantly on the lookout for something different - you can only read so many books about vampires and fairies without feeling like it's all been done before. Well, this book is definitely different in so many ways and that is a very good thing. First, the plot. All I can say is 'Wow!' The world created by the author is at once stark and full of hope and this duality sort of runs through it to the end. And to the very end, you're kept wondering, 'Is she really going to die? Is there no other way to fulfill the prophesy?' Well, I won't give away the ending, but I will say it was spectacular - an incredible resolution to the problem. Does that mean Farley forfeits her life to save everyone else? Well, you're just going to have to read it for yourself to find out. But don't worry, it's well worth the read! And the whole theme of the prophesy? Unique, edgy, seat-of-your-pants suspenseful.
Then there are the characters. I haven't been this wowed by a cast of characters in a single story in a long time. Usually, there are a few I like, then a bunch I couldn't care less about. Not so here. I really liked all of the characters - well, except for the villains, but I'm not supposed to like them, right? Farley is a pretty amazing character. She strikes all the right chords here and is a well-balanced character who is dealing with the loss of her mother (who simply vanished one day) when her life is turned upside-down by strange beings bent on killing her - and the gorgeous stranger who saves her. Enter Daniel. Everything you could want in a hero, he's handsome, moody, serious - and will lay down his life to save you without hesitation. His story is pretty amazing as well and just adds so much depth to the overall story and how it affects Farley. They are good foils for each other and you can't help but root for them. You want them to get that happily ever after and you grieve alongside them when it appears that they won't.
Then we have Agatha and Aldan, Tess and Oliver, and a cast of others that just add so much to the story. I absolutely adored Agatha. I thought she was a wonderful secondary character and played well with all the others, whatever the situation called for. I loved how protective she was of Farley, and how nurturing. She supplied the mothering influence that Farley so sorely missed when her own mother went missing. Tess is a wonderful friend for Farley. Even when she's got a bone to pick with Farley, Tess is still there for her - supportive, loving and comforting. We should all have friends like that.
I could probably go on, but I won't - because that will cut into the time that you should be reading this book! I, for one, am looking forward to the next book in this series.
I read a lot of books with paranormal elements, adult and young adult alike, and I am constantly on the lookout for something different - you can only read so many books about vampires and fairies without feeling like it's all been done before. My Thoughts:
First of all, a huge thank you to Frankie Rose who gave me the opportunity to read and review her book, which I am so glad that I did because I really enjoyed it. Sovereign Hope is one of those books that takes you on a journey an when you are done, you really feel like you have been on a crazy ride. My first impression was ooh, I love this cover and it really drew me in and got me interested in the book.
This story was definitely not like most of other YA reads out there I felt that the plot was something new and different, something we haven't seen before which was awesome and I was immediately captivated by the world that Frankie Rose was creating. The story jumps right into action from the very start. We meet our main character Farley Hope. Farley was just your average seventeen year old girl until her mother mysteriously disappeared one day by walking out of work and never returning, leaving Farley all on her own. I immediately knew that Farley was going to be one tough girl, she was completely on her own and she wasn't just going to let her mother's disappearance fall by the wayside. She was calling the police as much as possible and asking about her mother's case constantly making sure that anything new they found she would know about. But, Farley's whole entire life changes when she meets Daniel. Sitting in traffic in L.A. (which I have heard is horrible lol) driving to hang up missing posters of her mom, she is approached by a super hot guy (Daniel), who then proceeds to tell her she is being followed and she needs to go with him. Now, I don't know about you guys but, if I was in this situation I would think this guy was crazy, your mother had already disappeared and some stranger wants you to go with him, I don't think so. Until she see's that Daniel is right and there are a bunch of men coming after her.
The villains of the story are the Reavers, immortal people who have a whole civilization underneath the streets of the city. Reavers, get their powers from taking people's life force or energy, I really enjoyed learning about them and the secrets behind their society and how Farley was involved in the whole story. Next, onto Daniel, I loved him so much because he was just your typical guy, he loved cars and building engines. The interactions between him and Farley had me laughing out loud with each of them handing sarcastic quips back and forth to each other, pretending that they both weren't attracted to t the other ( a total guy thing in my opinion), pretend you don't like a girl by being mean to her. But, as the story progressed you learn more about Daniel and his and Farley's relationship grew and changed with the plot.
Overall, this was a great read!, it had a little bit of something for everyone, action and adventure, romance, and a strong female lead. I recommend this book to anyone who enjoys paranormal stories and someone who hasn't read paranormal, because although the villains were not vampires or werewolves, it still had the same type of feel I get when I read those books. Definitely check it out!

Sovereign Hope is the debut novel and first book in Frankie Rose’s Hope Series. When I read the description of this story, I figured another one of those teenage girls in distress, since it did not look like the lately normal YA dystopian theme.
The action in the book started pretty quickly, and even though at the beginning, you may not understand what is happening..neither does the heroine, you are pulled totally into the story. I was totally surprised, and pleasantly I might add, how Frankie Rose was able to maintain your interest throughout the book.
The story is about Farley Hope, and Rose has made her into a wonderful heroine. Farley is only 18, her world has turned upside down; her mother is missing; no one takes her seriously about her hallucinations, but the worst is yet to come. Farley has such a great sense of humor, her thoughts and comments throughout the book, even in the worst situations, will make you love her all the more. But make no mistake, Farley is a capable and tough heroine. She will face life threatening danger many times, and she will hold firm, and maintain her toughness, despite her wanting to crawl under the covers.
Farley meets Daniel, a surly and distant young man, whom she immediately finds herself attracted too, but his demeanor always finds a way to push her back. Daniel saves her life from strange men trying to hurt her, and Farley can get no answers as to what is going on, other then her weird hallucinations. She only tells her best friend, Tess about them, but no one really believes her. Looking for her mother, she meets Agatha, a friend of Daniel’s, and Farley is pulled into a world she never imagined. Her life will never be the same, if she survives it.
Farley is taken to an underground compound to keep her safe, and she learns why she is now hunted from Agatha, as Daniel refuses to tell her anything. The Reavers are immortals, who take souls of others. They cannot be killed, and Agatha and Daniel are part of group trying to stop them. Farley discovers she is part of a prophecy that can destroy the Reavers, hence why she is now the hunted.
The relationship between Farley and Daniel grows, as he knows about the prophecy and his need to protect her from the dangers, therefore he fights his feelings and is determined to keep his distance from her. Farley has a hard time understanding why Daniel is so belligerent at times with her. But as each day goes by, they are both feeling the attraction to each other. It is a slow, and at times frustrating romance, because of the dangers involved. But it is their romance, that will help them both survive.
This is an intense, action filled, and at times dark story, but Rose does such a wonderful job releasing the tension with so many light and humorous parts. This is most certainly a split personality of a story, tense/dark and fun/light. Rose has done a wonderful job in her debut novel in creating this world, the addicting story, villains, and her characters are excellent. I for one cannot wait for the next book. Well done, Frankie Rose.

There is always this thing with gorgeous cover. Readers will have high expectations for it. A good cover must have a great story. Well, this book is the total package. I was fortunate enough to be given an ARC of Sovereign Hope. Holy Cheese! This book is remarkable! Prepare yourself for tons of action and romance that can burst your heart into joyous pieces.
Let us dive in into the story. Farley is the main character here. She is broken and confused. Farley is in search of her mother, who had disappeared for almost 6 months. There was no information on what really had happened. Everything about her mother’s sudden disappearance was vague for her. The story took a great turn when Farley is being chased by unknown men. A handsome fellow, named Daniel had helped her out. Who are those people who want her dead? You have to read this book to find out. You will be thrust into a world where there are hidden passages, a city under a city, powers and politics. I was completely sucked inside the book.
The world building is amazing. The story is unique and well written. I like the author’s writing style. It was simple and easy to grasp. It was fast in the first part, slow in the middle and fast again in the end. I enjoyed the world Frankie had created. There was balance; it was not rushed or sluggish. It was just right for me. There were tons of action scenes that will put you on the edge of your seat or in my case, the sofa J
As for the characters, I like them because they are well developed and matured. Frankie is so courageous. She is such a dare devil! I like how she’s desperately looking for answers and was never on the verge of giving up. As for Daniel, he depicts the epitome of an ideal guy, dark haired, emerald eyes and a wicked smile. He made salivate a few times. I like how he is cold yet warm towards Farley. I understand why he has to be that way. I admire his discipline to keep his oath, even though he struggles a few times. Then there’s Kayden, mysterious and reliable. There is something about him that draws me in. His character made me laugh a few times. His comical personality and weird ways gave spice to the story. The book is written in dual perspective, Farley’s and Daniel’s. Again, I like books written in different POVs. It gives the book transparency. No more guessing what the other is thinking. There are more characters in the book that I like. I will leave them to you to find out.
Lastly, the love angle is good! It was not rushed. Frankie took her time to develop Farley and Daniel’s relationship. It was realistic! There were scenes that made my stomach flutter too.
Overall, this book is a must read. I recommend this book to paranormal lovers who seeks action with romance. Book two please.

Sovereign Hope is one of those books that grab you from the first page and does not let you go. I adore this book on so many levels. I have been in a reading funk for a while, I just felt like every book I was reading was the same. I have to say a huge thank you to Frankie for asking me to review her book because I was blown away. I was instantly immersed in the world Frankie has crafted and did not want to stop until I finished it. I seriously considered calling in sick to work just so I could stay up all night to read it!
Farley Hope's mother has been missing for six months and the police are still no closer to finding out what happened to her. Farley holds out hope that they will find her when she crashes into Daniel, literally. He saves her life and from then her world is turned upside down. Daniel is part of a secret society that lives beneath our world. Farley finds out she is part of a prophecy that claims she will destroy the Immortals that rule over them. The Quorum are an impartial entity that is supposed to keep the balance between good and evil. The Immortals have upset this balance and Farley is part of the solution.
I loved Farley’s character, she's strong, stubborn, insecure and knows her own mind. I found her instantly likeable and was engaged with her character. She handles herself so well through everything; I think she was one of the more mature characters I have read. Then there's Daniel. He's one of those beautifully broken guys that break your heart and make you just want to hug them. He kind of reminds me of Will from the Infernal Devices, and has an arrogance to match Daemon from Obsidian. If you meshed those two guys together you will have a small idea of who Daniel is. His character is one of the one's that make you fall hard and fast, and I did. He had such a haunting presence to him, it's no wonder Farley felt herself falling for him. The romance plays a big part in the story, but it's only one part of the overall storyline. They have this connection that binds them together, yet Daniel acts as if it's one sided because of his sense of duty and a deal he made with the Quorum. He's totally swoon worthy, too. Trust me.
The storyline is original, action-packed and compelling. Sovereign Hope is a one-sit read. Once you pick it up you just can't put it down. This is definitely one of my favourite reads of 2012! Frankie has such an addictive style of writing. Grab a copy of Sovereign Hope to be swept up into an amazing adventure that will have you turning the pages to see how it ends. I am desperately waiting for book 2.

First off I would like to take this time to thank Frankie Rose for sending me a copy of Sovereign Hope to review. When I first read the blurb for Sovereign Hope I was instantly intrigued, I wanted to find out more about the book because there was just…something.
I am sure you all have had moments like those, where you just have that feeling that you know you will end up loving the book. But if the blurb wasn’t enough to get my attention, once I received the copy and saw the cover, it had me diving into the story right away. You see to me, the cover of a book makes a big impression, if the cover is well done and grabs my attention alone or aside from the blurb I am automatically sold.
I loved the personality that Frankie Rose created for Farley the main female protagonist, for months she has been desperately awaiting any information into her mothers disappearance, getting no answers or leads you can sense her frustration, but if worrying for her mothers safety wasn’t enough she has to worry about her own, she being followed but doesn’t understand why until she meets Daniel and Agatha, that is when Farley is dragged into a whole new world where only she can put an end to the reign of the Reavers. Farley’s relationship with Daniel is quite intense, their interaction with one another seems like they really dislike each other, but secretly Daniel is harboring feelings for her but knows that if he were to act on those feelings it can lead to betrayal and punishment, he wants to keep Farley safe and to do so, he must keep his distance.
I loved how right from the beginning you are sucked right in, Frankie Rose does not give you any chance to wonder away, she keeps your attention and she keeps it well. Right from the start you have action that will have you wide eyed and anticipating the characters next move.
This book is filled with plenty of action and romance that will have you reading through the night, you know that saying “Just one more chapter” or in my case that I kept saying “Just two more chapters”, those one or two more chapters will turn into 7 more chapters before you know it.

Sovereign Hope is the first book in the Hope series by Frankie Rose. When approached about being part of this blog tour, I was excited to be part of it. Just from reading the synopsis, I knew I would like this book. I wasn't wrong. It was one of the best books I've read so far this year. I'm going to try hard not to gush, but I'm not making any promises, guys.
Sovereign Hope is a fast-paced, suspenseful thrill ride from beginning to end. It had all the ingredients a great book has; lots of action, some romance, captivating characters, unique plot, lots of humor and heart. It was so well written, you feel like you are in the midst of all the action. It really is the ideal book for me.
The characters are complex and likable; very well developed. Daniel is my new favorite book boy. He is just a phenomenal character. His sarcasm and somewhat cranky demeanor mask a really sweet guy and you can't help but adore him. (Or at least I couldn't.) Where to start with Farley-she is such an amazing character; strong, determined, brave, funny & loyal to those she loves. Her entire world has been flipped upside down but she doesn't lay around and cry about it. She goes after answers! She is determined to find out what happened to her mother and she doesn't dwell on what harm could come to her in the process. That selflessness coupled with her tenacity make her a wonderful character to read about.
The story is told from the points of view of both Farley and Daniel and I loved being able to see the story come to life from both their perspectives. This book is jam-packed full of action and I never saw the twists coming at all. The romance was SO well done, too. Not overly hearts and flowers but realistic to the situation the characters are in. I just loved it!! This is probably the very best book I've read so far this year, I cannot wait for the second book!
If you love paranormal young adult books then this one is definitely for you! A must read in my book! ~Mel
