Any reader needs to remember this is a first novel and the writer has been very brave to offer it up for public scrutiny. It is therefore up to the reader and the writing community to share their wisdom and suggestions to help him improve.
This is the story of Peter who has grown up in the slums of New York and how he uses his skill as a fighter to turn his life around. Logically the first people he meets and gets involved with are gangsters. The readers sympathy is still retained as there is something of the gentleman about the character in his manner, despite his violence. He meets a number of beautiful women who play differing roles in his life and the book ends with acts of philanthropic generosity.
There are some nice phrases in the writing which suggest potential for improvement. This is a reasonable first attempt and I am sorry I can not give it more.
