One of the earliest informative books about the puffin, and to my mind still the best. R M Lockley is a naturalist with a very keen eye, and a gift for description. This book from 1954 has black and white photographs plus line drawings. Coloured photographic records of puffins now abound, but R M Lockley's account cannot be bettered.
