Daddy Dearest 2: The Mess

Rate this book
Now that Hammer has repaired his relationship with his daughter Cataya, he has come to the bitter conclusion that the world as he remembers it no longer exists. He's happy that he has out-lasted all his enemies, but it's tormenting him that he has out-lived most of his love ones as well. He knows that the only way that he can begin his healing process is to stop blaming people for what they've done to him, and accept responsibility for the role that he played in his woes.

It has been fours years since Rafeal has acknowledged the foul mouth voice inside his head, EL "The One" DeBarge. And when the pressures of society begin to once again become too much for him, he gradually gives in to EL "The One" DeBarge and goes back to his old ways.

REDEMPTION takes flight when Hammer falls for a woman who he couldn't possibly began to fully understand. He views their challenging relationship as a way to right some of his wrongs, and does something that could risk his freedom...or worse; his life. But his plans are sidetracked when EL "The One" DeBarge sets his sight on her and manipulate Rafeal to do the unimaginable.

El "The One" Debarge is BACK!!

Hammer has been out of jail for a little while and has been mending his relationship with his daughter. His daughter is basically the last woman alive that he has loved whole heartedly and he will do anything he can to protect her and make sure that she is protected. Since he has been out and has had time to think he has started beating himself up because some of the people who are not alive should be and he feels it is his fault. Its been four years since Rafeal has acknowledged the voice inside his head. All of that changes one day when El The One Debarge warns him of something that may happen and Ra doesnt listen. After the event takes place Ra realizes he cant go back to ignoring El Debarge when he seems to now have his back. With El Debarge back and Ra listening anything is possible with these two. It doesnt take to long for Ra to get lost in the tricks of El Debarge. When Hammer meets a woman who seems interesting that he doesnt understand he wants to right all his wrongs with her by helping her out and protecting her any means necessary. Will this woman steal Hammers hearts or will her truth haunt him forever?

This book was really good. I read part 2 because I was expecting El Dabarge to come out. He is sooo funny! If you are looking for a book with a little of everything but will make you laugh at the things he says then this is the book for you! I think El "The One" Debarge needs his own book I would read that. Didnt take me that long to read this I started late yesterday afternoon and finished really early this morning. Hammer, Ra, and El "The one" Debarge keep you on your toes with what will happen next and by whats being said. The ending shocked me I didnt see that happening at all. Things arent always what they seem.

Of course El The One DeBarge was the real story here. He was so funny at times I thought I'd never stop laughing at the things he said and did. I was glad to see Hammer make his way. I really wanted Ron to be apart of his return but of course he couldn't. The relationship with Taya and Chang was nice. Hammers girl was a real nut case but I kind of figured something was up with her from her introduction. Really good book.

Again, this was a good read but all the errors in it kind of make it hard to get into. EL "The One" DeBarge and Rafael kept the story with humor, although they were crazy but was always expecting EL to convince Rafael to do something crazy. Now Hammer and his new relationship, I never once thought that she was making that up, maybe that is why EL wanted her. Although the other characters were good, EL and what he would say is what kept it going. Nice Job Kevin!
