"Shattering The Triangle" by Dick Reynolds which I won from Goodreads Giveaways is a fascinating look at a crime of passion because of a man's supposed infidelity and a woman's vengeance.

As the story opens Leslie Faye Aronson Krag is escaping to her villa in Tuscany after firing bullets into the bedroom mattress of her estranged husband before burning down his cabin. A fugitive from justice Leslie can't get over her obsession for revenge against Andrew and his fiancée Sarah Dolan even after meeting a mysterious, handsome stranger on her flight who suddenly turns up on her doorstep looking for a place to hide. No sooner does she start an affair with the enigmatic Roger Halliday than he's forced to leave. Because of infidelity her daughter from a former marriage needs a safe haven to recuperate from the loss of her husband and job, but Leslie doesn't want her to know about her most recent romantic involvement. Yet, Roger is never far from Leslie's thoughts, especially when she discovers that his skills could be useful in planning her revenge.

As Leslie's tumultuous life continues in Italy, the story also looks at Andrew Krag's life in Leadville after his separation as he rebuilds his life and finds a soul mate in Sarah. Fearing that the burning of his cabin might herald further conflict with Leslie, Andrew tries to stem his anxiety and Sarah's as they wait for the divorce papers that should bring closure to the disastrous relationship. What he doesn't know is that a sudden event in Leslie's life will bring her rushing back to Colorado to unleash her fury.

This is a story of infidelity, neurotic compulsion, lies and deceit as each of the skilfully crafted characters become pieces on one woman's chessboard of vengeance. Leslie Krag's insecurity, her need for male veneration increase her mental instability as her mood swings turn deadly. In contrast Andrew Krag's good-natured, resilient and determined in rebuilding his shattered life. The unassuming Roger Halliday is considered vicious, argumentative and arrogant in business negotiations. He 's astute accepting Leslie's weaknesses until they overstep what's legal. Sarah Dolan, the kind and generous nurse in love with Andrew is shrewd enough to know that Leslie's neurotic behaviour could endanger them.

Add to these unforgettable characters, Julie, Leslie's promiscuous daughter who's weak, selfish and unpredictable; Roscoe Bartlett, a smart businessman and generous family friend; Eli Waters and Detective Sharon Hardcastle the two clever police officers who are determined to arrest Leslie and bring her to justice. From different backgrounds Eli and Sharon not only respect each other, but forge a romantic attachment. The personalities of all the characters are colourful and complex and add a unique dimension to the plot.

As the tension mounts and the plot thickens, the novel grips the reader. Once I got into the story I found it fascinating and recommend it to all those who like reading a contemporary crime novel.

Suspenseful, intriguing, story Shattering the Triangle by Dick Reynolds a free goodreads is a must read full of drama, action, and captivating characters.
Shattering the Triangle begins where Filling in the Triangle left off at. Leslie Krag comes back after leaving her husband, finds he is in love with someone else, wants a divorce, burns down his cabin, and flees to a villa in Tuscany. While on a plane to Tuscany, she meets a man Roger Halliday, who later shows up on her doorstep bleeding and needing a place to stay. Leslie's daughter, Julie, calls a few days later and also needs a place to stay. Meanwhile, Leslie's soon to be ex-husband, Andrew Krag, and his girlfriend, Sarah, are starting a business and their relationship is stronger than ever. While Leslie is reconnecting with her daughter, she finds out that her house in Colorado has been on fire. Leslie is convinced that Andrew Krag set the fire and it was not homeless people who accidently did it like the report stated. Even though Richard Halliday unsuccessfully tries to convince Leslie before and after she is in Colorado not to seek her revenge, Leslie continues on her rampage against Andrew and Sarah.

Our leading lady is a very driven, mixed up, self engaged persona. She views the world through her own personal cloud, creating events as she wills them regardless of truth. Even her relationship with her grown daughter shows her selfish nature to a child much like herself. Sarah seemed too kind especially with her health and money. I kept wanting to follow up with Rogers story. I would like to read the first book in this series and appreciated dick Reynolds descriptions of Colorado and Italy. Her knows his territory. Thank you for sharing this goodreads giveaway book.

Dick Reynolds is, far and away, one of my favorite contemporary writers. He has a genuine gift for weaving a plot which grips the reader, and for creating characters which resonate with the reader. His style is vivid and satisfying. His characters are flawed and complex, and you will come to care deeply about them and the choices they make.

“Shattering The Triangle” is his sequel to “Filling In The Triangles”, which was published in 2011. While the reader will not be lost if he or she has not read “Filling In The Triangles”, I highly recommend that it be read before reading the sequel. Not only will you gain a deeper understanding of the characters and their motives, you will also gain a deeper appreciation for this author’s talent.

The story opens with Leslie Krag retreating to her villa in Tuscany in an attempt to escape prosecution for torching the cabin of her soon-to-be ex-husband Andrew, in a fit of vindictive anger against him and his girlfriend, Sarah Dolan. She soon encounters Roger Halliday, a man she had met on her flight to Italy, and who is now looking to fly under the radar as a result of his mysterious work. The plot becomes even more complex after Leslie’s daughter Julie arrives, looking to escape from her own failing marriage and crumbling life. Meanwhile, back in Colorado, Sarah and Andrew are trying to build a future together, while trying to move past the darkness Leslie is still trying to cast over their happiness. The story seamlessly moves back and forth between Colorado and Italy, finally bringing all of the characters together in a dramatic conclusion.

The story will keep you guessing with unexpected and exciting twists and turns, resulting in an enthralling page-turner of the highest order.

I received a copy of this novel from the Goodreads Giveaway contest.

Hell has no fury like a woman scorned is an old saying. A woman and her husband grow apart. It was not a pleasent seperation. The woman, who is the main female character in the book, wants revenge. She wants to make his life miseable and will do anything to achieve it. There was plenty of hooking up. Quite a bit of the book was the couples meeting and going on dates.

The character development was minimal. The lead female character was the one we got to know the most. She is portrayed in a momsympathetic way. She is perceived as being crazy. The rest of the characters are developed only superficially. Just enough to keep the story going. The one character, who was a former CIA, started a relationship with the lead female character. He was doing secret missions, yet he would tell the lead character everything he was doing. Then, he did a secret trip for the lead character and a small town sheriff was able to pick up on him and link him to the lead character. I felt this was strange and out of character. I felt no empathy for any of the characters.

This was an easy book to read. Story was easy to follow. I read it fairly guickly. If you want a light read, this could be it.

For some reason, I wasn't sure if I would like this book, but I was so wrong!! This book doesn't disappoint!! The characters were very believable, the story moved quickly, and for most of the book, it becomes part of your anatomy, because you want to keep reading it to find out what happened!! There are a handful of sexual scenes in here, and the Author did them in such a classy way. He got the idea across without needing to be raunchy about it, which made the story flow nicely. All in all, this was a great read, and an edge-of-your-seat story towards the end. My hat goes off to Mr. Reynolds, and I'll be looking forward to his future writings!! I received this copy of the book from Goodreads, but it had absolutely no bearing on my review.

I recieved this book from the goodreads first reads program.
Originally I was worried that I wouldn't understand all of the character interactions having not read the first novel in the series, but Reynolds did a great job of creating a stand alone novel. The story line was very interesting, but I had a hard time staying engaged in the reading. The last 50 pages were the most interesting to me.

I could not relate to the premise of this one at all. Revenge is always a good plot line, but this just felt wrong. After only a few chapters, I simply had no sympathy for the female protagonist, Leslie. The daughter, Julie, was just as off-putting.

I received this book as part of the Goodreads First Reads program. That fact did not influence my opinion of this book.

Thank you Goodreads. This book keeps moving. Leslie Krag is a person I would not want to be on her bad side. She is a little crazy. She burns her husbands cabin down then flees to Italy. She meets a man on her flight then tries to recruit him in her plot for revenge.
In the end Leslie sees money cant but happiness and revenge is not sweet.

I won this book from the Goodreads first reads giveaways. I hadn't read the first book of the series but the author did a good job explaining what occurred prior to where this book starts. I found the book interesting from the first few pages and it kept my interest until the end.
