This book is more of a philosophical treatise rather than a hard economics book but it really does give one a good summary of Kagawa's thoughts and reasons around the significance of trade unions and consumer cooperatives as viable alternatives to the current capitalistic system as it was and still is in most regards. Kagawa's Christianity makes a steady appearance in the book but I get the sense that it's written for a more general audience and tries to make it's cases on humanitarian and rational grounds rather than spiritual ones.
