This is my first book by this author but I now realise its part of a series, luckily it is a standalone book in many ways and its not essential to have read previous book in order to enjoy this one.
Without giving spoilers we meet the hero Dak and heroine Elizabeth in the past and discover that they are being held captive but Elizabeth does not trust Dak. They manage to escape and whilst trying to evade capture they begin a journey into the future that will change both their lives completely.
This story is a sweet romance with time travel and mystery thrown in. The characters are both likeable and the author manages to keep her readers guessing . I liked that I wasn't immediately sure what had actually happened to bring the young couple together. Nothing was straight forward and as a reader i was intrigued as to just who the villain was and why Elizabeth was so secretive.
Whilst not my usual type of read I found it flowed very well . I eagerly turned the pages as the suspense was maintained almost to the end and even then Ms Clarke Gibbs had a surprise for her readers.
A very enjoyable read and I would rate this a solid 4

“Sworn to Secrecy” by Tammie Clarke Gibbs is the second in her series and a strong follow-on to the first one. Very well written and perfectly paced this is a very engaging and pleasant read about Dak and Elizabeth from Georgia in the 1800s escaping captivity and making their way to the future through a cave.
There are some excellent scenes where the people from the past try to keep up with the new inventions, such as cars and plumbing, but unlike other helpings of the genre this is done in a pleasantly understated way.
The romance between the main characters works well but there is enough other plot and action to make this a rich reading experience.

Dak wakes up after being held captive in a room, his room mate Elizabeth catches his heart. After escaping they find themselves in a cave that leads to the future. With a little assistance they make it back and try to save her dad, who was also kidnapped. This is a great read with romance, action and a little time traveling. I hope there is a second book in this series. Cute read! WaAR

I love time travel books. This novel did not let me down. The way the characters, Dak and Elizabeth traveled in time through a cave that is on her families property, where only the generational women know about, is wonderfully written. From the beginning trapped in a dark room together, the words flowed nicely and kept my attention.

The very strong and witty Elizabeth needs to rescue her father, will she be able to do it with the help of Dak before time runs out? (NO Spoilers)

The romance and secret intrigue and travel is woven into a great read. The detail in description was just right and I could picture the cave, the plantation and the great clothes. Whichever time they were in you feel like you are there.

It was fast-paced and kept me turning the pages. I was sad when it was over and cannot wait to read more books from Tammie Clarke Gibbs.

This is a great clean read with just enough mystery, romance and charm.

The subtitle made me think a bit this would not be a book for me, as romance is not what I normally read. Luckily it's more of a time travel adventure than a pure romance book!
Even though this is the second part of a series, at least with this book you didn't need to read the first one to get the full idea of the story!

The book has fast action, bit of mystery, and humour nicely put together, with relations between the main persons going from hate to understanding to love. Was not always easy to guess who would be the bad guy and why, even the travel in time was very well incorporated in the rest of the story.
Nice was also that the main female character is not the typical 1800 nice, weak female but a headstrong lady that knows what she wants and how to get it!

Certainly a book worth picking up and reading all the way, now hoping for the continuation of the story!

ps. I received a free e-book in return for an honest review, this has in no way influenced the outcome of this text!

Now this is what I call an exciting read and it will keep you on the edge of your seat. Even when you reach the end you will still be wanting to know what happens next.

Imagine going thorough a cave with a man that you didn't know and coming out the other end and find out that you are in the future. That is what happens to Elizabeth and Dak. They don't know if but they are meeting a girl that is their great, great, great, great, great granddaughter. The only thing is that Morgan isn't allowed to say anything.

This story will keep you on your toes and there is so much suspense that you will never be able to figure out what is truly going on. I loved this book and can't wait to read more.

I've read a number of Tammie's books and she keeps getting better and better. This book is proof of that.

I will say I think this is a good time travel story. There's plenty of action to keep a guy reading and the story flows really well. I'll admit there's a lot of kissing. That's okay though, there should be some since this a romance story. Thought the romance part was pretty good in fact. I personally would have hooked up with Elizabeth.

Thought it was quite interesting how they went into the future and back to their own time again. That was actually very fun and I'm not going to tell you how they did it. You'll have to read the book for yourself.

I was intrigued to read a time travel romance and Ms Gibbs' excellent writing soon delivered a feisty heroine and a handsome hero. I really enjoyed the time travel part of the story but felt the final part of the book was a little rushed and had more editing errors. That apart, it's a clever addictive story and I have no doubt the third book in the series (this is the second though it stands alone perfectly well) will be as exciting.
Ms Gibbs writes in a confident, easy style making her work a pleasure to read. If you enjoy a good story and have a penchant for romance, you'll really enjoy this book.

I thoroughly enjoyed this book, esp. when the characters found themselves in the future. It’s well written and steadily paced throughout, keeping the reader entertained, and more importantly turning the pages. Romance, time travel and adventure, just can’t go wrong.

I received an e-copy of this book from the author in exchange for an honest review.

This was a different time travel book. It started off slowly and finally about the middle really took off and the rest of the story was fast moving. It was a little different from some of the other time travel books I have read but I ended up enjoying it

I was given a copy of this ebook in return for a review by the author.

I wasn't entirely sure what to expect from this book as it's sort of the second in a series of books, but it is great as a stand alone book too.

From the beginning there's a nice fast pace and I struggled to put the book down. The plot was interesting and kept the romance moving forward in a way I really enjoyed as straight out romances are a little dull for me.

The only downsides were that I found it just a tad predictable, especially once they were back in Dak's hometown, which did prevent me feeling as tense as I would normally and engaging quite so much, but I still generally enjoyed the read and would recommend the book, especially to romance readers who like a suspense filled plot interwoven.
