I really enjoyed the plot of this story. A young girl can see ghosts of animals and wonders if there are human ghosts. She goes to find out and things do not go as planned. I thought the ghosts and how they appeared and disappeared was interesting and the reasons for why the existed. What I would have liked was a little background into why Clydelle and her mother and brother could see ghosts. The ending was also abrupt. I'm not entirely sure what happened. I have an idea, but it was so vague that I wasn't 100%.

It was a unique tale about ghosts and there were a few times I was definitely creeped out.

A young girl, her mother and brother can see the ghosts of animals that linger around her parents' farm, but the girl wants to see a human ghost. As I read this story, I couldn't work out where the author was taking me. But she has created a story that made me shiver as I read on towards the end. During one part in the middle, I could really feel the emotions and the blackness that the character was experiencing. This is a chilling story, twisting a traditional ghost story into something a little bit different.

A fascinating short story and precursor to other tales.

I enjoyed this piece--very vivid setting, solid characters, an interesting premise and conflict. I know the purpose is to leave the reader hungry for more, and I certainly felt enough of a connection with the story world to wish for more. A recommended read if you only have a few snippets of time.

Content Warning: Completely clean. Ghost activity, but not the scary kind.
