Petre Tutea was born in a family of a priest. He study the in the "Neagoe Basarab" High-school from Campulung-Muscel & "George Baritiu" High-school from Cluj. He follow the Law University from Cluj and he finish the school as a Doctor in Administrative Law with "Magna cum laude" in 1929.
In 1932 he create the magazine: "Left: The General Line of our time" where he collaborate with many intellectuals: Sorin Pavel, Petre Pandrea, Mihai D. Ralea and others.
He collaborate and write at Newspaper "Cuvantul" (The Word), publication that was of a high intellectual faction, with one of the most brilliant and world wide know intellectuals, writers & philosophers of the interbelic time in Romania: Constantin Noica, Mircea Eliade, Radu Gyr, Gheorghe Racoveanu, Mircea Vulcanescu and many others.
During the World War II 1940-1944 he was Section Chief in the War Ministry, between 1944-1948 Director in the National Economy Ministry.

He was arrested by the Communist Government and interrogated for 5 years (1948-1953) and in 1956 Tutea was arrested again under the accusations of Plotting against Social Order. He receive a sentience of 10 years in Prison in 1957 but in 1959 his juridic file was open again and the Communist Government abusively change his sentence to 18 years of Hard Daily Labor.
He was release out of the jail in 1964 because of the "Amnesty" and because of his poor health condition.
He was persecuted all this time by the Communist Secret Service and constantly live in a hard pressure.

Petre Tutea was name by the people as "Romanian Socrate" for his philosophic touch that he left behind, for his exemplary role-model that had a huge educative meaning for the generation that followed him. But most of all Petre Tutea is know for his true nationalism and love for the country, for his strong christian orthodox believes, for his simple but so incontestable way of thinking.

Petre Tutea is consider by most one of the most "True Romanian" that ever lived.

«Puritatea iluzorie a unui eu care poate rătăci, putînd deveni captiv al unei divinități personale… ca orice amestec, nu duce la adevărul religios. Se poate vorbi de neadevărul care poate izvorî din omul meditativ, activ și practicant al exercițiilor spirituale, care pot, prin neîndrumare sacerdotală, să ducă la obscura pădure dantescă. Instituționalizarea religioasă înlătură rătăcirile eului mortificat, presupus pur, iar meditația, exercițiile spirituale și autocunoașterea nu scot omul din lumea rătăcirilor. Concentrarea religiei în relația Om-Dumnezeu și înlăturarea rătăcirilor prin acești doi termeni: iubitul — Dumnezeu și iubitorul — Omul nu produc efectul scontat. Gîndirea canonică, impusă de autoritatea sacerdotală, este garanția drumului drept spre Real, această singură cale a neschimbării, neschimbarea fiind forma canonică a adevărului religios. Așa se poate vorbi de eternitatea ordinii creștine, opuse temporalității — istoricității schimbătoare a omului — și tragicului joc panteist aici, nietzschean, al apariției și dispariției, al creației și nimicirii.
Repet: Dumnezeu este, cele două lumi sînt, omul este și eu sînt, realism tomist; sau formula Adevărului Divin: „Dumnezeu sau nimic”(Sertillanges)»

Măcar știu ce mănâncă Țuțea. E bine, că e filosof. Dar nu e mare...
