Now that is what I am talking about!!!!! With the first book in the Line of Duty series I fell in love , the little follow up novella about Ginger and Derek was great , the second book had me a little worried , and this book restored my faith in this series. Tessa Bailey, you truly have a gift for writing sexy, dirty talking, kinky heroes! For that I thank you!

Then it all changes when he meets this beautiful Blonde ray of sunshine, named Story. He has never wanted anyone as much as he wants her, but there are two big problems standing in his way. 1. She just got dumped by her fiancé and he doesn't want to be a rebound. 2. She is Jack Brooks' daughter, Jack who is his mentor, and boss , and Jack who just told him straight up " Stay away from my Daughter!" Will he let that stand in his way or will he give up his man whore ways and show Story that he is worth taking a chance on?

Story was such a cutie. I freakin loved her. She has a fun, playful sense of humor, and she is pretty sassy. She lost herself by letting her ex fiancé walk on her. She is determined to become the brave, outgoing woman she use to be! But she doesn't just get her old self back she discovers a new bolder, naughty girl side and she likes it!
“So I heard. Um. Thanks for everything.” Oh my God. “I mean, thanks for dropping me off and carrying the suitcase and all that. Not thanks for the orgasm or whatever.” Shut up. Shut up now. “Well, I mean, thanks for that, too. I guess.”
“If I do decide to go out by myself at night, what are you going to do about it? Put an APB out on me?” She did her best imitation of a man. “Yeah, officers, be on the lookout for a fully grown adult female out past eight o’clock. She’s gone rogue.”
“No. I pity the sixteen-year-old boy. Of course I do. How could I not?” Story rose from the windowsill and placed her hands on his chest. She waited until he met her eyes to continue. “But I don’t pity the man. The man took a tragedy and used it to give himself purpose. The man is magnificent.”
“Fuck yeah. Bite me, gorgeous. Mark up my whole body. I want everyone to know who I belong to. Who I get hard for. Just you, Story. Just you.”
I loved them as a couple . Story shows Daniel that he is a great person and worth more than just a lay. She makes him see the good in his self, and Daniel makes her feel free, and safe to be who she really is. OMG them together , burning up my kindle. They were wild and so dayum hot! The car sex wow FREAKING HOT as HELL! I loved the Story and Hayden friend moments, they had me crackin up.
“Wow. Sounds like you’ve got it all figured out.” Eyebrows raised, she pointed a finger at Hayden. “Whoa. What was that tone?” Hayden snapped her teeth at Story’s finger. “That was my wise, earth-mother tone. You like?” “No. I don’t like. Knock it off.”
This book was awesome, and I loved every minute of it. Which is why I read it straight through, Who needs sleep? Not this bitch!!! I am on to the next book , but below I leave my favorite moment in this book:
“If you sing, I’ll let you take me home.” Holy shit. Where had that come from? That honest part of one’s psyche that only makes an appearance when one is half in the bag, apparently. In that moment, she realized that whether or not the thought had been a conscious one, she’d been hoping to see him tonight. Now, he stood right in front of her looking broody and handsome and frustrated. She wanted nothing more than to go home with him and give him something to smile about. Daniel’s eyes flared at her statement and he went perfectly still. Around them, bar customers laughed and high-fived in their seats. Apparently, once again she’d issued her challenge directly into the microphone. Awesome. She raised an eyebrow to let him know she was waiting for his answer. “Well, what’s it going to be, big boy?” His jaw flexed. “Nothing will ever be easy with you, will it?" “I hope not.” The lyrics came up on the screen. After a long-suffering sigh, Daniel began to sing. Or tried to, at least. His voice came out sounding mostly flat and monotone, but it still counted. Story stepped off the stage next to Hayden in order to watch him, positive that she was grinning up at him like a complete lunatic. In between verses, wherein he sang about a guy named Mickey being so fine he blows people’s minds, he cast dark looks in her direction, only succeeding in making her grin wider. To her right, two men she assumed to be Daniel’s friends were doubled over laughing as they watched, wiping tears from their eyes.

"Belong to me, Story. Even if it's just for a little while."
Tonight, she'd gone home with someone she thought was an expert player, but she'd woken up next to someone else entirely. Someone she hadn't been anticipating.
I would like to start my review with an announcement for all those that will be reading this book after me: I call DIBS! Yes, dibs! What? Yes we still use that! No, it's not juvenile, Gawd! Daniel is mine! I've already branded him, yep, tattooed my name on his ass so there's no confusion. Now that we have that figured out, back to my review.
If you read and loved Protecting What's His, let me give you a shocker to end all shockers: This book is better!
I'll give you a minute to gather your whits here to get past the initial shock. Ready? Moving on!
I have developed a serious girl crush on Tessa Bailey. The woman is a rock star! She needs to release books on a weekly basis! What do you mean it's not possible?!!!!
I'll even settle for hiring her to read me adult bed time stories!
I mean the woman writes the hell out of a romance book! This book had it all: Daniel was hot as hell with such a deliciously filthy mouth, I had to keep an ice pack by me at all times while I was reading it. I might or might not have developed a case of lady blue ovaries while reading it.
But I digress yet again. Damn my short attention span!
Daniel is a player and he knows it. He's sinfully sexy so of course he's not used to hearing a woman say no to him. That is until he meets Story Brooks, the daughter of his mentor. And when said mentor forbids him from pursuing Story, Daniel knows all bets are off. He has to have her.
Story was an amazing heroine. She was spunky, she had a spine, and of course the humor that I have come to associate with Tessa Bailey's writing.
When her fiance calls off their wedding 2 weeks before while at a fancy restaurant; she doesn't pout, she doesn't cry. She puts on her big girl panties, and makes one hell of an exit.
"Actually," Story interceded with a bright smile, "I'd like a slice of chocolate cake and a bottle of your most expensive champagne, please. To go."
With a shrug, she raised the bottle to her lops and took a long healthy swig. Whispers and uncomfortable laughter filled the room.
A man and a woman sat shaking their heads.
She gestured with the bottle in their direction.
"Oh, what are you looking at? He's leaving me for someone with a bob. A fucking bob!
When she finds out that her somewhat estranged father has suffered a heart-attack, she packs her things and leave for New York. Of course she bumps into Daniel at the hospital, having had the pleasure of witnessing him picking up a nurse. So when Daniel tries to make a move on her, things don't go to what Danny boy is used to.
"You've got your eye on that healthy cereal bar. It's a bad selection. Pick something else."
"Did you have an alternate suggestion?"
"Peanut butter crackers. You can't go wrong there. They're the best bang for your buck."
"You know, I could have sworn you were going to pick the trail mix."
"Oh, yeah? Why is that?
"Because you're full of shit."
Daniel, never having a woman saying no to him, of course pursues her with a passion. The attraction between them is evident, but coming off a broken engagement (though one she's not too brokenhearted about), Story is hesitant to get involved with anyone again. But then a dare smashes her defenses to smithereens.
"Just that in my experience, guys who talk the biggest game are usually a letdown in the end."
"It wouldn't be disappointing."
"I'll tell you what. You've got one minute to prove me wrong."
His eyes narrowed. "Elaborate."
She slipped her phone out of her pocket and held it up. "I'll set the timer for one minute. You'll have sixty seconds to prove you're not just a bunch of talk."
Daniel glanced at the bed behind her. "The things I want to do to you, Story, would take a lot longer than sixty seconds. Your phone's battery would die well before I finished."
"Then show yourself the door."
"Set the damn timer."
Bet you're curious how that went, aren't you? Well, let's just say Daniel did not disappoint.
More than likely, his skill had been perfected with hundreds of women. And she'd just inflated his ego even more by acting out her own amateur version of Gone in Sixty Seconds against his leg.
So I'm sure you get the gist.
When these two finally got together? Sweet.Mother!!! It was HOT!
Daniel has now replaced my beloved Derek with his hot dirty talk. I mean the man is pure sex on a stick.
"Push your hot ass up against me and take it deeper." She arched her back to comply.
"What's the matter, Story? Don't you want me as deep as I can go?"
"Yes!"
"Say it, then, baby. Say 'Daniel, please fuck me deep.'"
"Daniel..." She trailed off on a moan wanting to say the words but hesitating.

It's amazing when you can pick up a book that has a perfect mix of sex AND plot. Was there a lot of hot sex in this book? GAWD YES! But it never felt like a filler or repetitive. Daniel and his filthy mouth made this book for me.
"Do you feel that, gorgeous? I keep my cock hot and hard for you. Only you. Any time you want it, you just crawl right onto my lap and take what you need."
"I need it now."
Of course this book had a great plot as well. It wasn't just all hot sex. (Did I mention that the sex was hot?) Oh, right! The plot!
The book had the humor that I've come to expect in this series. All the side characters were fantastic. The banter between Daniel and his friends and Story and her best friend were hilarious.
"Uh-oh." Brent reached into the console and picked up his two-way radio, pretending to turn it on, then holding it up to his mouth. "This is car two-twonine requesting backup. We've got an officer down. I repeat, officer down. Dispatch, please alert medical personnel that officer is whipped."
"Please remind me why we're friends."
"Aw, you love me, you dick."
I can probably go on and on with my undying woman-crush devotion for Tessa Bailey, but I won't. What are you still doing sitting there and reading this review? Go and read this book pronto!
Just remember to return Daniel to his proper owner, as his new ass tattoo clearly states, after you're done.

I think Tessa Bailey will be an automatic buy for me. Really enjoyed the first two in this series and this was great also. A fast paced, witty, sexy read. Hot Hero, Lovable Heroine…. All that was missing was the dog!!

Officer Off Limits is a fun, hot, fast-paced story and the third part of the Line of Duty series by Tessa Bailey, but it can also be read as a stand-alone. Once again, Tessa Bailey has managed to write an absolute page turner filled with witty banter, lots of sexy scenes, a hot, dirty talking male lead and a very likeable, easy-to-relate-to heroine. This was by far my favorite of the series so far and even though I would have liked it if the story had been a little longer, I'm happy with what we got and with the way the way it ended.

Officer Off Limits is a fun, hot, fast-paced story and the third part of the Line of Duty series by Tessa Bailey, but it can also be read as a stand-alone. Once again, Tessa Bailey has managed to write an absolute page turner filled with witty banter, lots of sexy scenes, a hot, dirty talking male lead and a very likeable, easy-to-relate-to heroine. This was by far my favorite of the series so far and even though I would have liked it if the story had been a little longer, I'm happy with what we got and with the way the way it ended.

This book has been on my 'to be read' for so long it was practically begging for me to read it, so after enjoying the first two books in the Line of Duty series, I happily made this my currently reading. 'Officer off limits' has so many great four and five star reviews and after five hours of story time with the infamous NYPD hostage negotiator, Daniel Chase I can tell why ... Here are my blushing 'officer off limits' book thoughts ...
What's it all about?
Story Brook has just fell victim to being dumped by her pristine and rather boring fiancé. With a slightly heartbroken but more humiliated heart she gets a rather unwanted distraction when a call from a New York hospital means a journey from California to visit her father who is ill of health. On arriving in New York she never expected to come across anyone who would remotely interest her just jilted heart, but when a chance meeting brings Daniel Chase across her path she can't seem to resist his charming, magnetic ways. Only problem is this womaniser is the colleague of her bed bound father. She wants a rebound and he can't resist her. So what happens when feelings start to come into play? 'Officer off limits' is a hotter than hot story of two finding the balance between love and lust.
What did I love?
Unsurprisingly Tessa Bailey has once again delivered a passionate heartwarming quickie of loveable proportions. Where the author lacks in length of story she more than makes up for in the chemistry chart. This book holds hostage to Daniel Chase his dirty talking and talents between the sheets will have most steamy romance lovers blushing but don't be fooled when this NYPD officer falls he falls hard and I loved it. Readers take note there is no annoying heroine to be found in this book a rare treasure amongst all the overly dramatic females that authors seem to think we enjoy these days, nope this California based beauty is feisty and loveable and I loved her quick wit and heart warming love. The characters had depth and like-ability and the story was interesting and engaging without being demanding or overbearing. Everything about this book from start to finish was easy peasy and it was just what I needed.
Why not five?
I would have liked more build up between the relationship before they both decided that they couldn't live without each other. Just a chapter or two of the couple spending more time getting to know each other rather than their intimate parts, would have made their falling in love connection more believable for me. But four stars is certainly respectable and it's only a small niggle of the story line. A more substantial connection would have clinched that five stars from me.

Tessa Bailey knows how to turn out a sexy romance novel, this series is perfect smutty escape with heart. She has lined up the next book in this series and I'm desperado for book four in the 'Line of duty' series. Officer Off Limits is the third installment in the Line of Duty series but definitely can be read as a standalone. Along with Tessa Bailey’s other books, I really enjoyed this one. This book was exactly what I wanted and expected. This author always delivered a good story filled with bossy dirty talking possessive alpha males to fall head over heels for, strong and feisty heroines, seriously hot and steamy love scenes, strong friendship, humour and passion. LOVED it!

First of all... Jack you diabolical man!!!

I make have taken almost an entire week to finish it, but this was an awesome read!!!
Story Brooks is having a bad day! Her fiance breaks off their engagement two weeks before they would have tied the knot. And it gets worse when she gets a call that her father has had a heart attack!
Daniel Chase is a hot shot hostage negotiator, who has never had the inclination to be in a relationship. He has one night stands and he likes it that way. But when he sees Story for the first time all those notions are blown to smithereens.
Their attraction is instantaneous and even though they know they shouldn't, their being together feels too good to ignore. They're blown away by their attraction, they haven't known each other very long but they can't deny themselves!
Like all good books, they have a few hurdles to jump over all the way. A few surprise visits and a neighbour from hell, make this book one hell of a ride!
Hot, sexy, sweet and an utter pleasure to read!!!

I had put this Tessa Bailey off for a while for no reason and I felt like yesterday was the day! I did end up liking parts of it but I needed more from the romance and a fantastic epilogue, plus less about the H’s past exploits. The h is a teacher on summer break and the H is a hostage negotiator whose mentor is the h’s father. They meet because the h’s father has a heart attack so the h is in NYC for a limited time.
The dynamic between the h and H revolved too much around lust and their physical chemistry that when deeper emotions and interest were tossed around, I didn’t understand what they were grounded in. I did like that the H was clear that the h was different in his thoughts and actions but I also wanted to know WHY she was different when so many women before her never inspired him to be monogamous. This book was steamy though so if you’re looking for lots of attraction and spiciness, this could still work. The drama at the tail end though (both for their relationship and a touch of action), added on top of the lack of a stronger romance, and then no epilogue left me unsatisfied.
Written in third person, dual PoV. Some om drama from h’s fiancé who ends their engagement at the start of the book and no technical ow drama but H was a massive manwhore and his past was addressed constantly so it felt like there was ow drama almost even though he was only focused on the h once he met her. Woha! What a fabulous book! It had everything. Sexy cop with a dirty mouth. Lovable heroine. Smoking hot believable chemistry.
I tingled all over reading this wonderful little number. Daniel is one hot addition to my book boyfriends. If only he wasn't so right for Story. Lol!
Daniel, Daniel, Daniel. It is not often that I fall head over heels with the hero.
Every movement of his body screamed sex. Combined with his ladies, ladies, there's enough of me to go around vibe, she could understand why women stopped to gawk at him on the sidewalk. She couldn't deny his magnetism. The guarantee of satisfaction practically radiated from him.
Daniel is trying to stay away from Story after being warned off by his boss and mentor. Story is not to be touched. But their chemistry is undeniable! You need a glass of cold water to go with this book. Daniel is a heartbreaker and he is knocked off his game from the moment he meets Story.
"In fact, being that we're in a hospital, it just occurred to me that you could be an escaped mental patient."
He gave up his battle with his smile. "I'm taking you to lunch, sunshine."
"Like hell you are, trail mix."
Story is a wonderful, lovable heroine. She gets dumped by her fiancé in the first chapter and I fell in love with her on the spot. She is mature, cool and realize that she needs to get her life back. And then she has a few quirks and insecurities that only add to her charm.
"We kissed and I don’t know … I might have orgasmed on his leg or something. It happens, right?"I loved it! I wish I could convey just how much. I might revise this review after our move. I highlighted so much! This book is everything I love about great books. And did I mention a smoking hot cop with a dirty mouth? Go read it now!

4.5 "I WANT A DANIEL CHASE PLEASE" STARS!
Oh wait, I'm happily married.....my hormones got away with me....
Story has had a REALLY bad day. When her fiancée takes her to a fancy dinner and proceeds to DUMP her she thinks this can't get any worse. On her way home from said experience, she gets a phone call from a New York hospital informing her that her estranged father has had a heart attack. Dropping everything, she goes to him. He's a single guy. He'll need her help.....
When she's standing at the vending machine at the hospital looking for something of substance to fill her stomach, a sex-on-a-stick guy approaches her. Too bad he's nothing but a womanizer. She saw him flirting with a nurse just minutes before..... She's SO not going there in the frame of mind she's currently in.
Daniel Chase, expert Hostage Negotiator cannot believe the beauty of the woman standing in the vending area. He needs to tap that.....forget the nurse....time to turn on the charm. Yeah, man whore he is! It's one thing he excels at....
Daniel can't believe the chick who blew him off in the vending area is none other than his partner's daughter. When he walks into Jack's hospital room, his jaw drops to the floor. So much for that romp in the hay. He owes Jack everything he is professionally. This ex foster kid, gone from home to home turned something worth shit into a good career. He can't betray Jack that way. But can he resist the temptation? Most women are all the same to him but she's just different.....
When Jack asks Daniel to watch Story closely while she's visiting New York, he's so screwed. No way he can resist the temptation. What he doesn't realize, upon bringing her back to Jack's apartment, that this draw is mutual....fucking great.
Lord, this author can write a sex scene. She builds it up gradually so you as the reader feel as if you're about to combust.... Daniel has a dirty mouth and you only wish it was YOU he was speaking like that to.....Gimme gimme.
The story is a bit angsty with Daniel trying to hold back but failing miserably. Story knows that this is just one of his many flings, right? This is the first time in Daniel's life he wishes he wasn't so experienced. Story thinks he's just in it for the sex...but he wants more. He needs to show her it's not all sex for him. She's just different....but he can't resist her and it always turns to sex. Dammit.
There's very little I'd change about this book. It was devoured in a day. Editing is good. Chemistry off the hook. But I WOULD change Daniel's name..... Picky picky, I know. Even his last name sounds more masculine.....
"Chase, oh Chase!" Has a better ring to it than "Daniel."
So, if you're looking for a quick, sexy hot read, this one delivers in spades!

When Story Brooks’ fiancé breaks off their engagement two weeks before the wedding she realises she isn’t as upset as she should be and she’s become the ‘playing it safe’ girl she never thought she would be. And when she gets news that same night that her semi-estrange father had suffered a heart attack, she gets on a plane to New York immediately determined to change her life.
Daniel Chase, NYPD hostage negotiator and known player is used to women falling at his feet and knowing just what to say to get them into his bed. But for the first time in his life he finds himself struggling to find the right words when he sees the beautiful Story and then being rejected after a playful debate over hospital snack food. Never has he wanted anyone more and he’s determined to seduce her. If only she wasn’t the daughter of his mentor, who just forbade him from going after her.
But neither can resist the intense chemistry between them nor keeps their hands off each other. Daniel has every intention of possessing Story and making her his but first he’ll have to convince Story that his playboy past is behind him and that what they had might be sudden but it’s worth fighting for.
If his childhood had taught him anything, it was that wanting something inevitably led to disappointment. Somehow that lesson had utterly deserted him when it came to Story, because he wanted her with every goddamn bone in his body.
Broken heroes are like catnip to me and I absolutely LOVED Daniel!!! His past may have shaped how he interacts with women but as soon as he meets Story she was the only one for him. And I really liked Story, how she didn’t just fall for Daniel’s charm but made him work to be with her. I also liked how despite how scared she was to take a risk on him, how she only wanted it to be just about sex with them, she couldn’t keep her distance from him and seeing the real Daniel, the man he keeps hidden from everyone else and loving him.

The romance was SO damn hot!!! Tessa Bailey writes the hottest dirty-talking heroes and sexy times and this book is definitely ALL of that! I absolutely loved how serious Daniel was about pursuing the connection between them, that it wasn’t just about sex for him, he wanted more with her. And the sexy times were SCORCHING and it had yummy phone sex and car sex!!
I absolutely adore this author’s books and this is definitely one of my favorites. I LOVED THIS BOOK! If you’re looking for a hot and sexy romance with lots of humor, emotion and a dirty-talking hero then look no further, this book is for you! HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.

Since the 2nd book was kind of a letdown, I'm so glad that this one was way better. This series is just perfect for me right now. Some "light, steamy, alpha male at its best" kind of stories. I even don't mind the INSTA LUST, because somehow it really works here.
This is just the right book for some hot summer nights...;D

Another winner from Tessa Bailey!
Not going to rehash the plot, just wanted to say my thoughts. Just like book one, I enjoyed the fact that these characters each have a uniqueness to them and yet they are fairly normal people. Daniel is a hostage negotiator, and is considered a major player. And yet that is actually his biggest shame. We aren't often forced to think of a man's psyche if he sleeps around a lot...reverse sexism, I suppose. Is a man's self worth tied to his sexual escapades? It seems so with Daniel it is, and I'm not sure he even realized it until now, until Story. Until he found one he wanted to keep, he didn't realize how damaging the numerous partner and his bad reputation were for him.
"Perhaps he'd been losing her for the last ten years. Every time he'd engaged in anonymous sex, she'd slipped little further from him. Only he hadn't been blessed with the foresight to see hr coming."
One thing I loved about the heroine, Story, is how she's a true blue California girl, and she doesn't seem in danger of changing into a sophisticated New York socialite any time soon. She likes her comfy clothes, she likes her own sense of style. She's very much her own person.
Following the super sexy trend that this series has already set up, there are a few scorchers in here! A few favorite moments:

Until she starts to know him and finding out a lot more about him than people give credit for and things starts to change.
Daniel don’t believe in being worthy of a girl like her. But he believes in loyalty and Jack’s was very clear when he said: You’re a playboy. Stay the hell away from my daughter.

Officer Off Limits was on fire. I was just one giant ball of lust reading this.

Story was THE BEST. She was strong, funny, and had one hell of an attitude.
“He’s leaving me for someone with a bob. A fucking bob!”
I loved the way she thought and I was always looking forward to what she would do next.
She was my favorite character and I wish we could have seen more of her.
Tessa Bailey knows how to create the best alpha males and I think Daniel has to be my favorite in the whole series. I loved how much he cared for Story and protective he was of her.

One thing I don’t like was how fast their relationship developed.
Usually, I like it when things start up quickly but this was a little too fast for me.
Everything in the story happened in a span of a week and
Especially since Officer Off Limits was really short, it made me feel like things were being rushed.
However, you could definitely feel how deep their feelings went for each other and I never doubted that.

Yes, that line uttered by a lesser man wouldn't have left me gasping out loud and dying with anticipation to know what was going to happen next. So that makes this 3 out of 3. In Protecting What's His Derek Taylor blew my mind, and set fire to my underwear ( I am not ashamed!!!) Troy Bennet in His Risk to Take was amazing and I admit to heart palpitations when he and Ruby got it on together.
Now we have Daniel Chase and man oh man, I swear Tessa is trying to spoil me for all other book boyfriends.
Story Brooks receives a phone call moments after being dumped by her fiancé, two weeks before the wedding. The phone call is from a New York Hospital telling her that her father has had a heart attack. She immediately goes to him.
Daniel Chase is a ladies man who will flirt with all woman at any chance. He gets totally shot down while waiting to see his boss in the hospital and then gets the shock of his life when he walks into his bosses room to realise the one that shut him down is actually his boss's daughter and therefore totally off limits.
This isn't a rebound.
As you can imagine this does not hold either back. Their chemistry is off the charts and every moment from their first meeting is the perfect balance of sass, humour, steam and I ate it up.
All I can say is if you enjoyed the last two, you will love this one.
Great characters, great story, great romance. Tessa Bailey is officially an auto buy for me now.

3,5 estrellas. El primer libro de esta serie me gustó bastante, el segundo me resultó decepcionante y este tercero ha restaurado mi fe en una autora que narra como nadie la química sexual. Aquí la hay y mucha, así como dirty talk: el primer encuentro entre la pareja protagonista es explosivo y ya el del coche es 🔥🔥🔥.
Además, la historia se lee en un suspiro y tiene a dos protas tan maravillosos -Daniel es mucho más que un sexy pichabrava y Story (vaya nombrecito), por su parte, más que esa chica insegura en la que su prometido la ha convertido al dejarla tres semanas antes de la boda- que el instalove te parece hasta inevitable. No cambiará mi vida, pero me ha hecho pasar un rato estupendo. ¿Es de lo que se trata, no?
Además, la historia se lee en un suspiro y tiene a dos protas tan maravillosos -Daniel es mucho más que un sexy pichabrava y Story (vaya nombrecito), por su parte, más que esa chica insegura en la que su prometido la ha convertido al dejarla tres semanas antes de la boda- que el instalove te parece hasta inevitable. 4 scorching hot stars!!
Just when you thought Troy (His Risk To Take) was the ultimate dirty talker of them all, Tessa Bailey dropped Daniel Chase on our laps. And whew, this guy certainly has a mouth on him. A very dirty mouth to be exact. *fans self* This book should come with a warning on them. This was definitely another scorching hot read and it's something that I have come to expect from Tessa Bailey.
Daniel Chase was a cocky, good-looking hostage negotiator whose reputation with women was legendary among his fellow cops. In fact, our heroine had the dubious honor of witnessing Daniel in action, trying to charm a nurse. Story Brooks was jilted by her fiance two weeks before the wedding. When Story's father and Daniel's mentor suffered a heart attack, Story found herself in New York, directly within Daniel's line of sight.
Well, they saw each other and bam, insta-lust. Yowza! Insta-lust, insta-love or anything insta usually annoys the crap out of me because it feels unrealistic most of time. And not to mention by the time you get to the middle of book, you're just bored to death with the two characters eye-f*cking each other, you just want to be put out of your misery.
Well, it's safe to say that this book has enough meat to the story to keep readers interested. The banter between the Daniel and Story were great and Daniel's fellow officers were hilarious. Think The Three Stooges except hotter and minus slapstick. But the crude humor and language are still there and did I say they're all hot?
And there is that twist at the end that I sort of guessed (yes, I am that smart!) but nonetheless, it was a wonderful and fun surprise. I just wasn't crazy about Story's reaction upon hearing that revelation but whatever, Daniel totally made this story worth it for me.

Daniel Chase is competing with Derek from the first book in dirty talk techniques and hotness,and he is doing a damn good job.He is also working as an hostage negotiator in NYPD. Story Brooks is the daughter of his mentor and the only woman that can make him feel.
These two were so cute together, the banter the flirting the sex was good good good. I m enjoying this series very much ❤❤❤.

HOT HOT HOT! Tessa Bailey does not disappoint. I have yet to read a story from her that has not had me panting and wanting more. Tessa has dirty talk down to an art. There are a lot of books out there where the guy talks in incomplete sentences, and I am supposed to be turned on by it. Well, I need a guy with brains, big brains and big in other places as well...like his ego. Come on, mind out of the gutter people.
Anyway, Tessa created these amazing, dominant, but not overly aggressive, hot amazing men. She should really get an award because she nails it Every! Single! Time! I absolutely LOVE Tessa Bailey.
Enough about the author, on to the book.
Story is our lead female. She is is a smart and beautiful kindergarten teacher who is engaged to be married. The book quickly takes us away from her fiance who promptly dumps her. Story gets an urgent call from NYC where her father is. He has had a heart attack. She hops on a plane to be by his side while he recovers.
Daniel is our lead male. He is a hostage negotiator. Yes ladies, swoon away! He has been working with Jack, Story's father for years. Jack has been his mentor and Daniel looks up to him. So imagine his surprise when he finds out the hot little number in the hospital lobby is Jack's beloved little girl and strictly off limits.
When Story meets Daniel she immediately recognizes him for the womanizer that he is. Even so, she can't help but acknowledge the amazing chemistry. One thing leads to another and soon enough she is throwing down the gauntlet and challenging his manhood and he has all of 60 seconds to prove himself worthy.
“The things I want to do to you, Story, would take a lot longer than sixty seconds. Your phone’s battery would die well before I finished."- Daniel
No longer gentle or curious, his mouth took complete ownership of hers, fusing it with his in a kiss meant to destroy and rebuild.

Story questions everything in her life as it has all been turned upside down. She quickly realizes she has choices and she must decide her own fate.

Anyway, Tessa created these amazing, dominant, but not overly aggressive, hot amazing men. She should really get an award because she nails it Every! Single! Time! I absolutely LOVE Tessa Bailey.
Enough about the author, on to the book.
Story is our lead female. She is is a smart and beautiful kindergarten teacher who is engaged to be married. The book quickly takes us away from her fiance who promptly dumps her. Story gets an urgent call from NYC where her father is. He has had a heart attack. She hops on a plane to be by his side while he recovers.
Daniel is our lead male. He is a hostage negotiator. Yes ladies, swoon away! He has been working with Jack, Story's father for years. Jack has been his mentor and Daniel looks up to him. So imagine his surprise when he finds out the hot little number in the hospital lobby is Jack's beloved little girl and strictly off limits.
When Story meets Daniel she immediately recognizes him for the womanizer that he is. Even so, she can't help but acknowledge the amazing chemistry. One thing leads to another and soon enough she is throwing down the gauntlet and challenging his manhood and he has all of 60 seconds to prove himself worthy.
“The things I want to do to you, Story, would take a lot longer than sixty seconds. Your phone’s battery would die well before I finished."- Daniel

These books just keep getting better.
This is the third book in the 'Line of Duty' series and this book features Daniel the man-whore friend of Troy from the last book. You don't need to read the previous books to appreciate this one but I would recommend them.
Daniel
Daniel is a hostage negotiator and a love em' and leave em' type of guy. He was raised in foster homes with no parental figures to guide him. This has left him with almost no self worth, which is the reason for the casual sex. He doesn't believe he is good enough to be with a decent woman, so he uses and allows himself to be used to fill an empty void left from his childhood.
Story
Story is a 25 year old kindergarten teacher who has lost her way. She use to be very adventurous but her life choices have took the fight out of her. This doesn't stop her from having a great sense of humour and some amazing lines.
“Oh, what are you looking at? He’s leaving me for someone with a bob. A fucking bob!”
“If I do decide to go out by myself at night, what are you going to do about it? Put an APB out on me?” She did her best imitation of a man. “Yeah, officers, be on the lookout for a fully grown adult female out past eight o’clock. She’s gone rogue.”
Before she could blink, he’d climbed on stage with her and easily pulled the microphone out of her hand. “You’re welcome.” She made a sound of outrage. “This is exactly how Taylor Swift felt when Kanye West stole her thunder at the VMAs.”
The story begins (haha see what I did) with Story getting dump by her fiancé two weeks before her wedding. On top of that her father has a heart attack which forces her to go to New York from California where she's from. She decides to use this as a break from her circumstances. However by chance Daniel turns out to be her dad partner at work and the pair hit it off instantly.
One major problem is that Jack, Story's father who has forbidden Daniel from going near his daughter. Daniel tries (not very hard) to resist but the pull of the forbidden fruit is too much and the pair embark on a passionate fling.
Daniel who has never wanted anything beyond sex feel something deeper for Story, but feels unworthy. Story however doesn't allow this and seeks to comfort him, always knowing what he needs when. He suffer a terrible trauma in his past and she supports him with this.
Daniel would never forget that moment if he lived for a hundred years. Within the space of a minute, he’d gone from feeling like the lowest possible life form to champion of the world. Someone who might be worthy of her. She’d made him feel wanted in a way he wasn’t accustomed.
The threat of Story's life back in California hangs over them, so the pair try to enjoy their time together, allowing Story to rediscover her adventurous side. But Daniel wants more. My heart reached out to him so many times. He wasn't afraid to put himself out there even if he didn't feel like he deserved her, and in the end was willing to take anything she offered to spend time with her.
The pair were well suited and had great chemistry meaning the sex was hot. Daniel, although not as good at dirty talk as Derek and Troy, had some good lines.
" Do you feel that, gorgeous? I keep my cock hot and hard for you. Only you. Any time you want it, you just crawl right onto my lap and take what you need.”
I also liked the idea of the guy wanting to be marked and claimed by the woman. It suited Daniel who had never belonged to anyone before.
“Fuck yeah. Bite me, gorgeous. Mark up my whole body. I want everyone to know who I belong to. Who I get hard for. Just you, Story. Just you.”
There was no dramatic scene between the pair but there was an interesting twist to the end. I would recommend this short, sexy read to fans of the previous and romance lovers.

Wow!!!! This was a hot read!!! Daniel- yes please!!
I've loved this whole series. But Daniel and Story, the best!! These two had such great chemistry, there was humour, family, hot hot hot sex!! One of my favourite parts, the baseball game and car scene...... Oh and the 60 seconds and leg orgasm!! Hehe who am I kidding loved all of it!!
