Unbeknownst to Iesha Gates, she’s caught up in a nasty love triangle with her baby daddy Mookie. All she wants to do is provide for her son and live her best life, but her baby daddy never misses a beat when it comes to making things unnecessarily hard for her. Finding out that the people closest to Iesha were moving foul, caused her to hit an all-time low, resulting in her giving up on herself and love…that is, until she met the sophisticated silver fox, Mano Davis.
Mano is going through some heart break of his own. After losing almost a decade of his life to the jail system, he has changed for the better and is now ready to live his life to the fullest. The only problem is his current situation doesn’t allow for it. Having more bad days then good, Mano has no idea just how devastating and real his life is about to get. When Mano crosses paths with Iesha, it’s at a time that’s inconvenient for them both, not knowing his maturity and her lack thereof makes them the perfect match. While things are hitting the fan in Iesha’s life, Mano is battling with his own woes as well.
Will Iesha be willing to trust in love again? Age ain’t nothing but a number, but will Mano be able to look past the age difference between him and Iesha? There’s only one way to find out and that’s by reading; Snatched Up By A Suga Daddy For The Summer.
This book gave me what I needed this evening. Who needs enemies when you’re sleeping with one? 😩I thought there was a good balance between the heavy topics and the drama the characters faced. Fate brought Mano and Iesha together in the end. This was my first read from this author.
Okay. So I’m going to start this off by saying this isn’t my first read from this author, won’t be my last either and this is MY HONEST OPINION…I was slightly disappointed with this read.
Looking at the cover and synopsis: For starters the name of the book and the synopsis doesn’t match. Reading the name of the book, I thought it was going to be like the title “Snatched up by a suga daddy” but when I read the synopsis I didn’t get that suga daddy part. Reading the book: I get that you were trying to lead up to them getting together. I felt as though you should have focused more on them and not everyone surrounding them. Again, I feel like because you spent so much time on everyone else you took away and/or rushed them getting to know each other and him ultimately doing what the title says and snatching her up. I get that it was a short story but it left me with a lot of questions. I’m conclusion would I read this book again… no simply because the suga daddy wasn’t daddying(I understand that’s not a word) enough for me Do i recommend this book to anyone else? Absolutely. I never said I didn’t enjoy it just slightly disappointed Would I read other work this author released? Hell yea
Mookie was a disrespectful, scandalous, and piss poor excuse of a man and father. He did absolutely nothing for him and Iesha son. Iesha should've been glad he left her. While Fallon was busy stabbing Iesha in the back. She should've been focused on making sure Rallo was really locked up. He was beating on her like she was a man on the street. Iesha was there having her back until Rallo last beating he put on Fallon damn near killing her and the truth about Fallon and Mookie came out. Iesha had every right to drag Fallon being that she was supposed to be her best friend. It was heartbreaking watching Keri battle with her illness and Mano trying to be the strong and supportive husband. I could tell that Keri was tired and ready to be done with life. I also believe that she knew Iesha was probably the one who would be able to help Mano if anything happened to her. Keri was selfless and wanted Mano to be happy. He definitely stepped up for Iesha while she was going through the betrayal from Fallon and Mookie. I was too surprised at what happened to the two of them because Rallo was a lunatic and unstable.
Once the characters were introduced, the story was extremely predictable. However, I can admit, I did not see that coming in the end. Mookie was a deadbeat. He acted like he was all that and didn’t have squat! Ninja packed his clothes in trash bags. He and Fallon were grimy and got what they deserved. She definitely was NEVER a friend.
I DID NOT LIKE THE WAY BJ was written. A eat all the time, bad, hyperactive kid. The author could have written his character in a more positive light.
Hopefully the series gets better because I was left feeling blah with this first book.
Omg this was such a good read when I say this book was good from beginning to end I mean it my favorite character was Mano and Keri the love he had for that women was energy and iesha was my favorite too I swear her bd mookie know he was low down and trifling he got everything he deserved and her best fiend cuz how can you do some stuff like that to sleep with yo best friend man but I’m not even mad because I’m glad Iesha and Mano crossed path and my girl got her happy ending ugh I just hate it was a short serious but can we please get more from these characters
What a cute, short love story with some good ole drama!!!...That was sad that Jesus bestfriend and baby daddy did her like that, but Karma was real vicious when ahe came around for them!!!... That neighbor gave the best advice, but bestfriend didn't listen at all!!!...My heart broke for Mano and his wife...As much as he loved her, she loved him just as deep to free him the suffering of watching her suffer!!!...It was really good to see that Jesus and Mano could fill in the broken pieces of eachother!!!...
This standalone is lit. Babygirl ex best friend and baby daddy was a piece of work and they both got their karma and some. Baby boy will miss his daddy but he got a better step father that's gonna teach him well. Babygirl been through some things but she came out bigger and better on top. U did good on yet another book and I'm looking forward to reading more of them. Sitting here patting my feet while sipping on Pepsi and while eating popcorn while waiting on the next book to read
This was a good read. Iesha was a bit irky and dramatic at times but she didn't deserve for her baby daddy and so called best friend to do her like they did. Boy did she give them the business tho. I love the love that Mano and his wife Keri shared. I hate she took matters into her own hands but I understood where she was coming from even though it hurt Mano to his core to lose his wife. I do believe Keri had a hand into bringing Mano and Iesha together. He still deserves happiness and so do she. I don't condone what Rallo did but I knew Karma was coming. 💜💜
Enjoyed it from beginning to end. I was hoping Iesha would grow up & get her life & finances on track. Mookie was a live in deadbeat dad. Trifling & hold her back. Her bestie Fallon was lying snake & karma got them all eventually. Many & his wife's story was sad & touching. The chance meeting between him & Iesha was a blessing in disguise. Just wished more was told of their story. Good read.
Mano was mature and knew how to handle himself. He showed Iesha age ain’t nothing but a number. Mookie was just a lil boy trying to be a man. He and Fallon deserve each other and everything that came with it. Fallon should be ashamed of herself to stoop so low. She’ll never be happy whether she knows it or not.
That was a lot to take in. I felt for Mano when he lost his wife. He was a very good husband to her. As for Iesha, she should have left her baby daddy from long. Karma came for him and her best friend. I can't believe they were sleeping together behind her back. Great Read!
Omg Fallon an Mookie was wrong for.how they treated Iesha an she was good to them both thats why Karma served them on a Rallo platter he was really crazy. FALLON should have been got far away from him... Mano was such a Man i loved how he was with Keri I hated she had to leave like that... Mano an Iesha was gd together i think they needed each other....
This is my 1st ready by this author she did the dam thing…. This book was fast paced and kept my attention from beginning to end.. Don’t waste your time loving the wrong person when the right person gone love you with no questions asked and KARMA is a bad B**** A Must read will be looking for my books from this author.
This was a good standalone. Love can find people when they need it the most. Fallon and Mookie were low down. I didn't expect their karma to be what it was, but karma definitely showed up full force. Iesha deserved Mano after all she had been through. The storyline flowed, and it was amazing. Another great book by Loryn.
I'm going need updates to see how this relationship really turns out I can see for sure both being one another peace of mind Both second chance at happiness and He might be older than her but I can see them adding more kids to the equation He's 50 yrs old not dead and She very mature for her age I see marriage too
Finding out your best friend and your baby daddy are in a relationship after sharing all the issues you and he has to her is heartbreaking. However, Aisha bounces back through it all with a Prince Charming that saved her heart and showed her what a real man should do. As for her friend let’s just say karma came knocking and they both answered
Mano is the man I’m happy Mano was able to find happiness again after his wife passed away it’s hard to love or be happy again when someone close to you passes away as for Mookie and Fallon I don’t feel bad for them cause Karma caught up to them but Fallon should of known a person like Rallo is hard to get rid of Loryn did her thang with this book
This was great!!! I am so glad Mano came into her life because she needed someone to love her. I really think Keri approved of her but I hate she went out the way she did. That was sad but I loved this book
This was a great read and how Iesha and Mano came together was really good. He didn’t disrespect his wife while she was living and that just did my heart great. Mookie and Fallon got what they deserved and karma does come back to get you
Whew when karma comes that bish comes. I don't know how and/or why Fallon thought that Iesha wasn't going to see bout her. With friends like her you damn sho don't need enemies.
Suga daddy vibes.. I love it I enjoyed this story from beginning to end... Mano was a who vibe.. iesha had no chill she stayed on go but I happy she met Mano so she can know what real love feels like
That was such a lovely story. I’m so glad that Keri wasn’t suffering anymore and how it worked out for Iesha & Mano in the end! Karma is exactly what dumb & dumber received…well done!
All I can say is Mano was something else but he got caught up with the wrong one. That suga daddy was right on time even though he went through something himself. Rallo was a different kind of crazy.
I esha definitely didn’t deserve the bs she had to go through and Fallon and Mookie are horrible ass people and I loved Keri and Mano and I’m happy she got peace and I love he found another love to have with Iesha
This was a unexpected twist kind of story for me with great dramatics from beginning to end. Sometimes age ain't nothing but a number. Its all about the level of maturity. Again great read! Renee G
This was very good wouldn't mind a follow up of their story. Her ex best friend and boyfriend was trifling as he'll . It's sad they had to die like that but Karma is real. Mano was definitely grown and sexy.
Mookie and Fallon ran me hot with their trifling behinds! Karma got them real good though. Iesha was a good girl and she deserved better than Mookie. Mano is exactly what her and her son needed, and they were what her needed after losing his helpmate.
The storyline could have been great but it seemed kind of...incomplete. The story moved way too fast and wasn't completely believable.I especially didn't like the way it ended.
This book was good. It's sad what her bd and so called bestii did to her but karma had her way with them. I am sad that Mano lose his soulmate but it may have gained him another one. I truly hope everything works out for Mano and Iesha they both deserve happiness.
