Against all odds, the Sorentino sisters saved their family’s rundown New Mexico ranch, but the youngest has a dream that just may ruin their hard-earned peace—unless a certain sexy cowboy lawyer changes her mind…

Jenna Sorentino is as independent as they come. Despite her wild past, she’s grown up enough to keep quiet about the identity of her baby’s daddy, go to night college—and hide her plan to escape tiny Catcher Creek. She’s also stopped dreaming of happily ever after—except in the case of gorgeous, rugged, Santa Fe native Matt Roenick. Too bad the oil rights attorney acts like he barely knows she’s alive…

Matt knows only too well that Jenna’s alive—in fact, she’s driving him crazy with desire. But Matt’s got his reasons for resisting her. And when her son’s father shows up, those reasons multiply. Trouble is, Jenna’s secrets are more complicated than he imagined, and forgetting her isn’t as easy as he’d hoped. Matt knows life can be messy as hell. For Jenna, maybe it’s time he got dirty…

YOWZA!!!! This book was HOT!!! Melissa Cutler's writing brought the characters, the setting, and the emotions to life. Matt and Jenna had a slow start, but with her persistence and a chance meeting with a man that would surprisingly come back into their lives later on in the book, they started cruising along. It was going so well I anxiously chewed my nails waiting for the other shoe to drop. And boy did it!!! I don't like giving away spoilers in a review, but I can tell you the best scenes Melissa wrote were when Jenna got cornered with a long time lie. The blood drained from my face. I FELT what she was feeling. I looked for the escape route she was looking for. Those scenes for me, were very powerful. I read...A LOT...and I have to say it was in my top ten of finding myself "in the book". I was there. This book is full of tenderness, passion, lies, family, fun, and "sit on the edge of your seat" moments. I HIGHLY recommend this book!!! Release date, May 6, 2014.

Jenna has her share of secrets. As a teenager she was no stranger to reckless living, she was the town bad girl, until an unexpected pregnancy had her changing her ways. She’s 24 now with a 5 year old son, and although her and her two sisters are closer than ever, she is still keeping secrets.

Matt has secrets of his own, and the biggest one is what is holding him back from acting on the mutual attraction he and Jenna have been feeling for months now. When they finally come together, it seems they can’t stop falling for one another.

As the two of them get closer, we learn a bit more about what has kept us interested in these two characters over the past two books. I know I was dying to get my hands on this book; Jenna has been an intriguing character from day one. Her sorted past combined with her wonderful mothering and loving heart has kept me wanting to know more about her.

I flew through this book. I found myself making that “I will read one more chapter and then…” deal with myself, repeatedly. And I think I reneged 99% of the time. I had to find out what happened next.

Matt was super sexy… loved the dirty talk, that was hot, but he was also adorably romantic. Their romance had everything. There is one scene when Jenna is supposed to be studying that I found particularly clever and fun.

When their pasts and secrets are uncovered things get ugly, but the entire journey was enjoyable. I’ve really enjoyed this series and I am sad to see the end of the Sorentino sisters, they were fabulously entertaining.

It was an enjoyable storyline overall but I had a problem with the Hero of the story. He started out "take charge" and strong and turned into some namby pamby wimp when he chose to go into the relationship with Jenna.

Yes, we got it that he had a medical condition that caused him great heartache, but to go from zero to sixty on the relationship scale overnight and then whine and complain because his parents and siblings still treated him like a child (with good reason as it turns out) was just not attractive or entertaining. I found myself skipping several paragraphs if not pages of his musings and whining.

Jenna was such a strong character, that to have Matt be such a little boy in a mans body did not do it for me.

I will however, go back and read books 1 and 2 of this series, to see if this is a writing style or if it was just this one character. The to male characters matched with Jenna's two sisters do not appear to suffer from this same affliction, at least in this storyline.

Matt is not the kind of lawyer portrayed as a shark that we're used to. He help ordinary hardworking people and helped the Sorentino sisters keep their farm.

Jenna Sorentino is attracted to Matt but since they met one year ago, he doesn't seem to notice her, or so she thinks...

The truth is Matt wanted her from the first moment he saw her, but he choose to keep his distance. Not because of her past as the wild child, but because she have a child. He got involved with single moms before and got attached to kids he lost in the break-up. He doesn't want to risk his heart again, that's why, at first, when she show her interest he try to discourage her in saying he's not the guy for her. But before things can become more serious between them, Matt is gonna have to confess there's something that could be a deal-breaker for a future between them. And Jenna is hiding some things too. She plan to leave Catcher Creek and she may have to go sooner than later when her son's father return after a tragic event that happened in the past and he thinks Jenna is responsible of his misfortune.

Once again, Melissa Cutler made me feel a whole range of emotions. She even made me feel empathy for the "villain." She always create characters that feel real and her stories are always full of humanity. I liked the heroine's tenacity and courage. The hero was so romantic and thoughtful. I especially enjoy their naughty drawings :p

Jenna Sorentino, 24, a single mother has been lusting over new family friend and savior. You see eight months ago 33 year old Matt Roenick was asked by his friend Kellen to look into the case of the Sorentino sisters. Kellen is engaged to Amy, which is the middle sister, Jenna the youngest, and Rachel being the oldest. Rachel is engaged to the sheriff, Vaughn Cooper.
You see the girls all were left the farm after their parents both passed away which was only right since Rachel had been more or less running the household and the farm for as long as Jenna could remember. You see her mama was bipolar and you never knew when she would have an episode. Which finally drove her daddy to drinking and gambling.
In turn Jenna being so young caused her to be a rebel as her way to cope. Rachel made her go to school and Vaughn brought her home (that is how they met) from most trouble but not always sober and one night not before she got pregnant. She would never tell anyone her secret ever. She had a plan, until then she worked had to change her life and worked hard around the farm to help Rachel and Amy. So, her baby would have better then her.
Matt being a lawyer and a caring man came in like a cool refreshing breeze to them all he was able to help them and not only that when the oil company came in wanting to drill he negotiated a deal to set them each up nicely. Plus since he was good at his job other ranchers and farmers asked for his help. So, he was around more and more at gatherings and B-B-Q’s.
Jenna tried to engage him different times to no avail, although he would talk with Tommy her son. Since they were both in her sister’s wedding which she was the wedding planner he was stuck with her even more. After talking to her friend and telling her how they danced a waltz her favorite dance at the rehearsal dinner and that it looked like he wanted to kiss her so she closed her eyes and leaned forward and nothing. And that again today the day of the wedding after they both saved the day and she tried to kiss him, he backed away. Her friend said basically, than you know what? It’s his loss, move on. Forget about him have fun at the wedding there are bound to be other men there you won’t even have to chase who will want you.
Once she wrapped her head around that, she was good she was ready to continue as if. Meanwhile, Matt was dealing with his own secrets and demons that caused him a whole lot of heart ache. As much as he wants her and or needs her, she another single mother. His heart can’t afford to get attached and hurt by love another child that will never be his. He already had 3 pictures of kids he was father like to and he and their mother’s didn’t work out. Therefore no more contact with these kids he loved. Something changes at the wedding when his friend and Jenna’s new brother-in-law makes a surprise announcement.
This is a case of a bridesmaid but never a bride, and a yearning to be a parent but it’s a guy. It’s an exciting story line that has you from the onset. Jenna is the underdog in so many ways but she finds the strength of an elephant. Matt is also a victim of circumstances beyond his control and he is left with a wanting that cause him great pain. Yet, he is smart, sexy, and by the end you’re not sure who is saving who from the villain. Yes, there is a secret bigger than life villain. Isn’t that what always happens when we keep secrets. Watch how Melissa Cutler unravels the secrets these characters are all keeping and what demons they have created for themselves.
You will share in the pain, the shame, the tears, the jeers, the love and the laughter. In the end the Sorentino Sisters remain forever strong and bond as a family. Trust. Jenna had asked Rachel, “How do you do it? How do you give yourself over to a man like that? You have total trust that he’s going to come through for you.” Rachel responds with something she heard Jake had said but was written for him to say in the best man’s speech, “True love isn’t about finding someone you can live with; it’s about finding someone you can’t live without.”

4.5 Stars!

This series is one that I have enjoyed from the beginning. The Sorentino family has had their share of heartache but these sisters are amazing and of course they find heroes that match them in every way. How to Rope a Real Man is one of my favorites, I like both the hero and heroine and think the story is intriguing.
Jenna Sorentino is ready for a change; she wants to leave Catcher Creek with her son to start a new life and job in Santa Fe. It is unfortunate that she believes she will hurt her sister’s feelings when she tells them about her dreams. Jenna has been keeping secrets all her life; it has become second nature for her to keep things inside and she can’t seem to break the habit of lies.
Matt Roenick is a recent addition to the town and the friends that surround Jenna, he notices her right away but as soon as he finds out she is a single mother he has steered clear, much to the dismay of Jenna. He has his own reasons but most of all he is trying to prevent more of the heartache that he has experienced in the past. But no matter what his intentions are, he can’t seem to keep away and eventually they are spending time together.
Things come to a head as the past comes back to haunt Jenna, her sister’s wedding closes in and Matt decides to believe in a future with Jenna, can it all work out?
I thoroughly enjoyed this third book in the series; I thought the story was so interesting that I had a hard time putting this one down. The Sorentino sisters have had it rough but seem to be doing all right for themselves lately and I am excited to see how things work out. I like the way the sisters interact with each other and especially like the secondary characters that come into play.
Jenna and her secrets, she has been keeping them for so long that she is not sure how to tell the truth anymore, yet you feel for her as she goes through her struggles alone. She was the town bad girl in her younger days, trying to escape her home life, but an unexpected pregnancy and the anguish she felt when her friend left during such turmoil changed her in many ways, but she still kept those darn secrets. I really like Jenna, she is courageous and loving yet so vulnerable when she remembers her past however I also can see she has hope for her future.
I am not sure I can do Matt justice, I absolutely adored him, he is sexy, smart and oh so romantic. You feel the emotion surrounding him when all he wants is a family to love yet keeps himself back because he does not want to get hurt again. His anguish is raw and emotional. I really like these two, Matt and Jenna are perfect when they are together yet fear forces them to back off several times. The chemistry between them sizzles and the scenes they share are smoking hot.
This is the third book in the series and can easily be read as a standalone. We have met many of the secondary characters that are featured in this book but the author seamlessly brings them in and we have no trouble following along. I really enjoy seeing Rachel, Vaughn, Amy and Kellan again; the sisters are a hoot and they light up a scene when they are together. Jenna’s son Tommy is adorable and I love the interaction he has with his extended family.
I really enjoyed the premise of the story, past and current secrets come together to show the ugliness of some people and the communities where they live and I like how the author delves into the dirt, yes there is hurt, anguish and pain but this is life and Ms. Cutler does a wonderful job of bringing things out and showing the promise of the future. All in all I highly recommend this book; actually I recommend the entire series.

For everyone who has been following this wickedly good series, it is finally Matt and Jenna's turn, and boy oh boy do these 2 not only disappoint, they are smokin hot together.

I love the Sorentino sisters, and I have to say Jenna with her spunky attitude is probably my fave of the 3.... She says it like it is, and she is not afraid to go after what she wants....in this case Matt.

Matt has had a crush on Jenna for the last 8 months, but he decides not to pursue her, because he does not date single moms. He has in the past and he has been left heartbroken when he has to say goodbye to the kids when the relationships don't work out. He already has a soft spot for Jenna's 5 years old son Tommy and he is scared witless that he will end up hurt again.

Jenna has her own past filled with lots of dark and maybe even deadly secrets, not to mention she is hell bent on getting out of Catcher's Creek and moving to Santa Fe..... But she wants Matt and she is going after him.

This is a great 3rd installment in this series, and although can be read as a stand alone, I highly recommend the previous 2 books as this is really a great series....filled with hot as sin cowboys, spunky women and lots of family and love....what more can one ask for.

I certainly hope that we get Tara and the hot detective's story next...

Loved this story, it's sweet, romantic, sexy as hell, sad and happy all in one. This is a book I could read over and over again...wow! Loved these characters, the Sorentino sisters are a force to be reckoned. They kick butt, they love with their whole hearts and they are fiercely protective (I'm in awe of them) the brothers in laws, wow they are sexy, kick butt, sweet as all get out and love their women. I loved Jake and Tera too wow I hope they get their own HEA ( I want to read that story). Carson I felt for and knew when he was acting out it was fear and hurt triggering him, I loved what Matt and Jenna do for him. Matt and Jenna are my favorite, loved Matt from the beginning he's a keeper, a good guy, sexy as hell, sweet, romantic and dirty (wink) wow!! Jenna is a tough momma bear who loves with all her heart, dirty too, I loved her character the most of course tied with Tommy I'd say. Tommy is sweet, caring, funny and just too cute. This story was amazingly written, sweet, sad (in a good way) sexy, and so much more. I read it all in one sitting, I couldn't put it down. I want more of this family. Love this author's writing..it's amazing....5 huge stars review by Nanee at upallnightreadallday.blogspot.com

FTC : I requested this book as I have loved all the instalments in this series. This final instalment did not disappoint.

First off, let me apologise for the overuse of the word secret. I tried to limit it’s use but even the thesaurus couldn’t help me with this review.

This is a story of a secret baby, a woman with quite a few secrets and a man with one big medical secret … yes, this was the story of long-held secrets coming back to bite people in the ass. I enjoyed it immensely, especially Jenna’s character, but I struggled with Matt’s decisions due to his afore-mentioned secret. I am just SO glad that Melissa Cutler didn’t go for the easy fix with that one.. the drawn out angst that resulted from that particular plot made this one of the strongest tales in the series.

Jenna is my favourite part of this book. She is strong, independent but has a wonderfully big heart. She has brought up her son alone, keeping his Father’s identity to herself in the process, whilst trying to better her education and keep the family ranch going… she is wonder woman!! The only thing that she struggles with is her reaction to the lovely Matt, a family friend who seemingly doesn’t know she exists.

Of course, Matt does know she exists. He struggles with keeping her at a distance but that is what he feels that he must do. This is because he has a secret which makes him think that he must keep all women at arm’s length because, if he gets involved with any of them, he will be setting himself up for heartache and pain. I struggled with his secrecy regarding his condition. I understood that he had been burned in the past when he had come clean, but I felt that it wasn’t something he should keep secret. It had me very torn. It kinda influenced my opinion of him; I wanted so badly to like him but, even when he being all lovely and wonderful, I was pretty much mentally screaming at him to tell her.

Of course, a situation arises where they are thrown together and then the relationship that follows is more than either of them can predict. The problem is that the secrets are still between them and these secrets are a massive threat to their future together…. especially when a returning face in town threatens to bring them all to the surface.

This book is ANGSTY and full to the brim with twists and turns. I’m struggling writing this review because there are so many spoilers that I could reveal and I really don’t want to. The amount of secrets surrounding these two makes this book as compelling as it is. With each secret reveal, I was drawn deeper into their story, willing them to work it out but not sure if they could. Neither of their secrets were meant to hurt the other and, separately, they wouldn’t have, but the combination made for a situation neither of them could predict or wiggle out of. Jenna’s secrets should have had no impact on Matt but his secret meant that they did. It was very well interlinked…

There was more from the other sisters in this one but the more fascinating characters were that of Matt’s sister and Jenna’s future brother-in-law. I hope that this isn’t the last we see of either of them.

Overall, this is a fitting end to the series and, hopefully, the start of a spin-off. This is an angsty romance between two people who have been ravaged by love and life; I was hooked in from the start but their tale dragged me further and further in with each flip of the pages. I highly recommend it but I do think you need to start the series from the start.

How to Rope a Real Man is the scorching hot third installment in Melissa Cutler's marvelous Catcher Creek series. This highly anticipated romance reveals the intriguing secrets that Jenna Sorentino has been keeping from, well, everyone. Equally important, Matt Roenick's reasons for keeping his distance from Jenna are also divulged. Following their revelations, the two eagerly embrace their mutual desire for one another, but their future is jeopardized by unresolved issues from both of their pasts.

Jenna ran wild until her unexpected pregnancy forced her to grow up and leave her hard partying days behind her. She has never named her five year old son Tommy's dad but with her sisters' help, Jenna has provided him with the loving, stable home she never had. She is fiercely independent and determined to make a better life for herself and Tommy, and she has big plans she has not yet shared with either of her sisters. Plans that she hopes to put into motion before her past comes back and destroys everything she has worked so hard to protect.

Matt comes from a large and loving family and he is quite close to his parents, siblings and assorted nieces and nephews. He has a successful career and while he is relatively content with his life, the ghosts from his past that continue to plague him. He is very attracted to Jenna but he has a strict no dating single mothers policy that he has no intention of breaking. But a chance encounter with a stranger provides Matt with a new perspective and he decides to give love another shot.

Matt and Jenna have been dancing around their mutual attraction for months and it does not take much for their simmering passion to explode. A couple of untimely (and frustrating) interruptions prevent them from acting on their desire and the sexual tension builds to a fever pitch. This anticipation leads to some incredibly erotic yet playful sex scenes between them.

There is a strong emotional component to their relationship as well. Matt and Jenna are surprisingly honest with one another about their respective pasts and their plans for their futures. While both carry scars from previous relationships, Matt has the most emotional baggage. When conflict arises between them, his unresolved issues come between them. Matt receives advice from an unlikely source, but will Jenna give him a second chance?

How to Rope a Real Man is a delightful conclusion to the Catcher Creek series. It was well worth the wait to learn Jenna's secrets and her revelations bring unexpected depth to the overall story. All of the loose ends for the Sorentino family are neatly wrapped up but the tantalizing (and unresolved) relationship between Matt's sister and Jenna's brother-in-law leaves me hopeful Melissa Cutler might revisit the series at a later date.

Although How to Rope a Real Man can be read as a standalone novel, I highly recommend the entire series.

I really have been enjoying this series about the Sorentino sisters. Ms. Cutter weaves all the former characters into this book, and to really get the most out of this 3rd book, you need to read this series in order. It is important to understand the interactions between the sisters (Amy, Rachel, & Jenna) and what they each had to over-come to love the men they do. Plus, this author does a very thorough job in each of her books by giving the readers the history on the impressive leading men.
Now it is the youngest sister's turn to take center stage. Jenna is the peace-keeper of the three, but she is also the most secretive, as she has never revealed the name of her son’s father. While reading the first two books, I had a few guesses on her reasoning, but I would not have never guessed the past events and circumstances that led to her decision to keep Tommy’s father a secret. After reading this book, I could understand her logic, but I am not sure I totally agreed with her decision.
You could tell Jenna has been sweet on Matt since she met the do-gooder, lawyer/cowboy in Book 1. Matt does not fit the stereotype macho cowboy. He wears his heart on his sleeve. Matt and Jenna have a very good relationship and you can tell they are attracted to each other, even though, neither acts on it. That is about to change, as Amy and Kellan’s wedding is the perfect setting for Matt and Jenna to explore their mutual attraction. Matt may not come across as “manly” as either Vaughn or Kellan, but this guy has the moves on the dance floor and in the bedroom. Jenna and Matt’s relationship may have seemed to have started on a solid foundation, but their secrets will nearly destroy their romance before it even has time to grow. These two have to face the demons in their past or they have no chance at a future.
Matt is so likeable especially in the screens with Tommy. He is the type of man I find very attractive, but the man that really got me going in this book is Jake. Jake is Kellan’s brother and from the few snippets the author tells us about him in the past books, he does not come across all that likeable. He is a complex and intriguing character, and as the story progresses, the author starts to slowly show us the real Jake. This mans commands your attention. He is for sure, the man you want in your corner, or better yet, in your bed, as he is hot! I hope the author will continue this series with Jake as the main character.
There is no shortage of complex characters in the Catcher Creek series, as the author introduces us to yet another man with a dark past that impacts this small town. He is a very intense young man, with revenge on his mind, but his story will pull at your heartstrings.
As the storyline progresses, all types of secrets come to light, which makes this book very engaging and kept me up to 3AM to finish. Rating 4.5

My Review:
This is one of those books...when I started reading it, there are a lot of secrets and I kept turning the page trying to figure out what exactly are all the details were. Jenna has secrets. Matt has secrets. And while they aren't life-changing, they felt real in their importance to both these characters and they have good reasons for keeping them secret. I guessed a few of them, but I didn't guess any of the hard details and some of them were pretty surprising...but, no spoilers.

But secrets...when you want to get involved with a lawyer, is that really a good thing? Probably not, but Jenna's secrets aren't just her own to keep, plus she has to protect her son and family. And I know that's vague, but I loved Jenna for keeping quiet like she did. She stood through it all alone for so long and she was so young. This woman is amazing and honestly, she's just trying to survive and keep everyone around her okay. They just have no idea what she's going through.

And Matt with his wallet full of pictures. Oh, my heart hurt for him and the struggles he's had which were so horrifyingly believable. It would be so easy to see what happened to him, happening to any guy out there.

These are two characters at a crossroad. They have amazing chemistry and have been friends for a few months which makes their relationship seem like a given, but those secrets... They have the ability to hurt...a lot. It was an interesting book. Every time I thought the story was going to unfold a certain way, Melissa Cutler surprised me and went the complete opposite. I love her writing for that reason. I can't predict where she's going to go with the story line and it keeps me engrossed in the story and turning the page until I look up and it's WAY TOO LATE at night for me to still be up reading. I love her story telling ability.

One of the things that made this book so good were the amazing secondary characters. I fell in love with two of them and really, really hope that Melissa takes it upon herself to write their stories. Jake...the LAPD cop who's so obviously hurting (he's sexy, tattooed, AND carries a weapon). While he found a measure of happiness in this book, I don't think his story is over. He's still in too vulnerable of a spot...and by vulnerable, I mean tough, sexy, and protective, but umm...yeah, this guy's still hurting. Then there's Carson. I wasn't sure about him and don't want to say a thing because you won't be sure about him either, but he has so many possibilities...(also sexy, tattooed, and carries a weapon...he's a Marine). I am crossing my fingers that there are several more to come in this series or maybe even a spin-off series.

I received a complimentary copy of this book in return for an honest review.

5 STARS!!!!

This book was amazing. Matt and Jenna are a wonderful couple. We got a glimpse of Matt in book 2 of this series and I was so excited to read this book. It didn’t disappoint me in the least.

Matt and Jenna have been good friends for over eight months and have feelings for each other beyond friendship. They just don’t know it right away. Their relationship is a push and shove. One minute you think “Oh, yes finally” and the next you are saying, “Oh, no please open your eyes!” Of course they both realize they feel the same way and its on.

Just as in the other books in The Catcher Creek Series this couple can steam up the sheets. Matt is such a wonderful book boyfriend. He is caring and loves Jenna’s little boy Tommy. Matt is a family man who doesn’t love that? Plus a hot alpha male. I was sold by Chapter two.

This book covers a wide scope of deep issues; hate crime, poor self-esteem and infertility. My emotions were off the chart. At a certain point in the book my throat felt like it had swords poking it from the lump that this story created. I was so invested in Matt and Jenna that I felt each and every emotion that they went through. This book, as well as the other two books, is very angsty. The angst served a higher purpose but sometimes it is hard not to bang your head against the screen of your kindle because you get so frustrated. This was one of those cases.

This is my third Melissa Cutler book in the last few days. That’s how good her writing is. I wanted to absorb the whole series in one setting. The story had an amazing flow you really did not know what was going to happen on the next page. I am hoping we will see more from the Catcher Creek Series… Like a Jake story. I want to see his HEA.

Each story can be read as a stand alone book but to get the whole effect you should read them in order to understand the dynamics of the family. I would highly recommend this book, as well as, the entire series. If you love hot alpha cowboys, plenty of mystery and angst then this is the series for you.

How To Rope A Real Man is the third book in the saga of the Sorentino sisters’ efforts to save their family ranch. This last book features Jenna, the youngest of the three. Jenna has had a crush on Matt Roenick for nearly a year, but he has not returned that attraction and she can’t figure out why. Both Jenna and Matt have secrets they don’t want to reveal, and their reluctance to be honest with each other just about ruined any chance they had at making their relationship work.

My favorite scene of this book was the confrontation between Jenna and her son’s father (No, I’m not going to name him!) upon his return to Catcher Creek after a 6-year absence. Both Jenna and the father came clean about the lies, misunderstandings and secrets surrounding that period of their lives. Revelations were made that I did not see coming that not only involve Jenna and her son’s father, but also several pillars of the Catcher Creek community. This was a rollercoaster ride of emotions for them and for me, and I deeply felt their shock, anger, and sorrow about that time in their lives, and their bewilderment about what the future might hold for them and their son.

There are very few books I’ll stay up late to finish, but I stayed up late to finish this one. I absolutely fell in love with both Jenna and Matt, and I could not have gone to bed without knowing how they worked out their HEA. (There were times I was convinced that their HEA was not to be!)

This latest installment in the Catcher Creek series can absolutely be read as a stand alone book, but if you have kept up with the goings on in Catcher Creek, you will enjoy catching up with Rachel and Vaughn, Amy and Kellan, and Kellan’s not-now- so-estranged brother, Jake, who had more than a cameo appearance, and was one of my favorite characters in this novel.

I have read all of Melissa Cutler’s books and I have enjoyed every one of them. However, in my opinion, How To Rope A Real Man is the best one yet. While our visit to Catcher Creek has come to an end, Melissa has more books on the horizon, and I personally cannot wait to read them.

I was so excited to finally read more of the Sorentino sisters. Jenna Sorentino is the last sister to finally get her happy-ever-after. Ms. Cutler did a magnificent job with this third installment of the series. Actually, it is the best of the three by far.

If you read the previous books, you know that Matt avoided Jenna like a plague. I had no idea why he was so uptight when it comes to her. His reasons why took me by surprise. At thirty-three years old, Matt is successful in his career but not so much when it comes to relationships. Matt has always wanted a lot more than what any woman can give. Unfortunately, this has left him jaded.

Jenna the youngest of the Sorentino sisters certainly grew up faster than anyone. Having a baby at such a young age changed her from the wild party girl to a very responsible woman. So much of her life is out in the open yet there are things not even her sisters know. In this book, everything about Jenna will be outed for everyone to see. And as her past comes back to haunt her, the town will get an awaking of their own.

There was not a dull moment in this book. I loved delving into the town’s intrigues and of course Matt and Jenna’s story. They are perfect for each other. I actually didn’t think so before, but Cutler did a great job matching them up. I love that they couldn’t get keep their hands off each other, and I have to tell you, these two were pretty damn hot. Who would’ve thought Matt was romantic and what surprised me is that he is a dirty talker. You know what they say about the quiet ones. =)

I'm not sure what the plans are for this series and I'm hoping there will be more. I think Cutler can go in so many directions and maybe add a spinoff to this small town read. Jake for one; I am dying to read more of. He will come to Catcher Creek for one of the sister’s wedding. He has a rough, tough and very sexy vibe going on. This city cop has a lot to offer this small town, but he may have his heart set to go to Matt’s home town of Santa Fe. Like I said…Maybe a spin off.

Jenna and Matt were fun to watch. On the surface, they both appear so grown-up and put together. Yet, when they begin to try to move forward with their lives the surface cracks to reveal that they both have some growing up left to do. Jenna learns she needs to rely on her family and let others help her. Matt learns he needs to take chances and quit feeling sorry for himself. Each is able to support the other as they come to these revelations and together they work through their issues.

To complicate matters, Jenna is a single mother. Tommy is a fun, vibrant kid that makes the story richer for his inclusion. Though I was not surprised by the reveal of Tommy’s father, I was surprised by the reason’s Jenna opted to keep it a secret. Her reasons demonstrate fully that things are not always what they seem and traditions and beliefs are deeply rooted in small towns. Cutler addresses serious topics with grace and thoughtfulness.

I was disappointed that Amy and Rachel were not included more. In the previous two books they’ve learned to work together an act like a family. Jenna’s desire to do it all herself seems to fly in the face of the earlier lessons. However, it also allows her to learn on her own that life is richer for the inclusion of others and you can’t do everything by yourself. As we saw so little of the family together, I hope this is not our last visit to Cather Creek and we get to catch up with these characters again.

There is a wonderful secondary romance between Kellan’s (Amy’s husband) brother Jake and Matt’s sister Tara. There is much left unresolved between these two and I have my fingers crossed the full story will see the light of day (or make it into print, as the case may be). There is something fascinating about Jake, an LAPD SWAT officer who’s been estranged from Kellan for years, and Tara, a florist who’s allergic to everything with two kids. The sparks between these two are immediate and definitely fun to watch.

✿REVIEW:

Perfection! How to Rope A Real Man had everything I look for in a great story! I loved the interactions between the characters and the story was well written and flowed easily. There was danger, suspense, emotion and sizzling romance.

Jenna has her life all mapped out and the plan is to finish her degree in a few weeks and skip town. She is convinced this is the only way to protect her son. The town she lives in is so narrow minded and Jenna figures its only a matter of time before the small town knows her secret. And then she meets Matt. Matt is everything she would want in a man, if she wanted a man. Matt doesn't get involved with single moms. He has had his heart broken too many times. When this has not worked out in the past, he not only loses the relationship, he loses the family too. Matt wants nothing more than to be a dad. Matt and Jenna's seem to connect on every other level. Jenna knows one night with Matt would blow her mind and Matt knows one night with Jenna would never be enough. When they do come together they nearly burn up the sheets as their passion explodes. Jenna and Matt both fall hard for each other quick. Jenna still has to get out of town, and when her son's father comes back into town, she might have to leave sooner than she thought. Jenna's priority is protecting her son, and she will stop at nothing to keep him safe. Jenna and Matt love each other, but can they live without each other and is love enough?

I recommend this book and the series for romance lovers. Each book in the series can be read as a standalone, but I recommend reading them all. Melissa Cutler is an author to watch!

How To Rope A Real Man by Melissa Cutler is the third book in her Catcher Creek series.
All of them can be read as stand alones; but to really understand each one of the sisters and their family, it helps to read them in order. This is Jenna and Matt's story after months of dancing around each other. Melissa has written a book that is filled with tenderness, sexy times, and love. Readers finally get to find out what secrets Jenna has been keeping and why Matt has kept himself away from Jenna. The scene where Matt is talking to Jenna about his past are so tender and touching. You really feel both Matt and Jenna's honest emotions. Matt's unresolved emotional baggage flared at a critical time in their relationship; and I was on the edge of my seat to see how they were going to resolve the impact this had on the relationship. Jenna's secrets touch on a serious topic that is not often discussed in romance books. Melissa handled this topic with gentleness and honesty from the characters point of view.
My favorite scene was when Jenna was supposed to be studying with her friend Carrie via Skype at Matt's house. Jenna and Matt began writing dirty notes to each other which then proceeded to stick figures. What a joy to read because I was laughing and getting hot at the same time. There were other scenes with Matt and Jenna that were filled with sexy banter that showed how well these two were so perfect for each other. You can't beat sexy and honest all mixed up together between two people that are falling in love.

Melissa has pulled all of the Sorentino sisters lives together and give each one of them an HEA that includes their dreams coming true for their lives. Thank you, Melissa, for a great ride!

Jenna planned every detail of her sister’s wedding, now it was time to enjoy it. At least that is what she thought until the night of the rehearsal when her future brother-in-law informed her that the florist had pulled out of the wedding. His sexy groomsman, Matt saved the day, calling in a favor from his sister. During the drive to his sister’s shop, Matt and Jenna start to realize there is a connection that goes with the attraction they feel.

Matt is just a wonderful character, very much the gentleman, and definitely a cowboy. His heart was in the right place and he truly seemed to want to help people. The dialog written between himself and Jenna’s son Tommy was just precious. I did sense a connection between the man and young boy. I thought Jenna was a very strong woman from the other books in the series but after the background about her circumstances came to light I was even more in awe. Melissa Cutler shows you her strength and character in such the refreshing ways; there is one scene where Tommy misbehaves and the way Jenna handled the situation spoke volumes of her character. Jenna is honorable, smart, funny, and a friend to the end; someone I would definitely want as a friend.

The plot flowed nicely and didn’t drag at all; nothing seemed forced. Since this is the third in a series there were references and appearances from characters we have grown to love; all still perfectly written. We did meet a few new characters, my favorite being Kellan’s brother Jake. His background and part in the story I would love to see explored further in a future book.

I adore cowboy books and this did not disappoint. I received this book from the publisher via NetGalley for my honest review.

Jenna Sorentino is as independent as they come. Despite her wild past, she's grown up enough to keep quiet about the identity of her baby's daddy, go to night college--and hide her plan to escape tiny Catcher Creek. She's also stopped dreaming of happily ever after--except in the case of gorgeous, rugged, Santa Fe native Matt Roenick. Too bad the oil rights attorney acts like he barely knows she's alive...

Matt knows only too well that Jenna's alive--in fact, she's driving him crazy with desire. But Matt's got his reasons for resisting her. And when her son's father shows up, those reasons multiply. Trouble is, Jenna's secrets are more complicated than he imagined, and forgetting her isn't as easy as he'd hoped. Matt knows life can be messy as hell. For Jenna, maybe it's time he got dirty...

Okay, first of all (and I'm somewhat embarrassed to say this), I DO judge a book by its cover, and although this story is a good one, the guy on the front cover of this book is WAY TOO YOUNG if he is supposed to be Matt. The guy on the cover looks like he is in college, at his oldest.

Having said this, this was a book that I had a hard time putting down, but unfortunately, I did have to go to work. It was a good solid read from the very first paragraph until the end.

Next, there is A LOT that happened or happens in this book -- former drug use, secret baby daddy, a gay character (and how those closest to him / her reacts & treats that person), a member of the military, deceit, and much more!

Also, sometimes the best stories exist because of their supporting cast, and this book is no exception (of course, it is the 3rd in a series).

In How to Rope a Real Man, Jenna Sorentino was the town’s bad girl during her teenage years and is no stranger to a reckless life. But life has it’s surprises, and when it surprised her with an unexpected pregnancy she had to change her ways. Now she is 24 years old with a 5 year old son. But even though she is closer to her sister than she ever was before, she is still keeping secrets from them.

Matt has had a crush on Jenna for the last 8 months, but he doesn’t date single moms, which is keeping him away from her in that regard. He knows the pain of falling for the little ones, only to have to say goodbye once the relationship with their mom is over. Even though he doesn’t want to fall for Tommy, Jenna’s son, he already has a soft spot for him which makes him vulnerable and scares him witless that he will get hurt again.

The more time Jenna and Matt spend together, the more Jenna wants him, and Jenna always goes after what she wants. She wants to get out of Catcher’s Creek and move to Santa Fe, but before she takes the step she plans to get Matt first.

The romance between Jenna and Matt is a little slow moving, but sometimes slow is better for a long lasting relationship for two people that have secrets and are afraid to take certain chances. Jenna, Tommy and Matt make a great family, but first they have to let go of their fears and the past that is holding them back before they can move to a future together.

For a fun, sweet and entertaining read, don’t miss How to Rope a Real Man by Melissa Cutler.

Hope to Rope a Real Man is my first time visiting Catcher Creek. Wow! Melissa Cutler immediately caught me up with the latest events happening with the Sorentino sisters. This story mainly surrounds the youngest sister, Jenna, and she's helped plan her sister's wedding. The day before the wedding, the situation turns a little desperate. It's good that the lawyer friend she's been crushing on is there to lend a helping hand. Ahh...Matt Roenick! Can I add the words “dreamy” and “romantic” to his description of being a “sexy cowboy lawyer”?

As a newbie to this series, I was pleasantly surprised at how much I enjoyed this story. Ms. Cutler tackles some sensitive issues throughout the plot. One of these issues centers around Matt, and I appreciate that she offers the male's perspective on this particular subject as the male's emotions regarding this matter are often skimmed in stories. My heart broke for Matt when I found out why he doesn't date single moms. Jenna is a single mom to an adorable little boy, which makes this whole situation entirely sticky. I loved Jenna's mind-set and inner strength from the start. She truly just wants to make a good life for her and her son.

How to Rope a Real Man is filled with family, friendship, heart-tugging realistic situations, and even has a little suspense. Matt and Jenna together? Oh yeah, it gets pretty steamy! Deliciously steamy! Thank you, Melissa Cutler, for creating fun scenes for them!

Sizzling!
I really loved the story of Jenna and Matt. I love the fact that they too were just ordinary people with each their own struggles which are true life events. There were points in the book that were very emotional and heartbreaking. This book is filled with love, happiness, fear, and a life changing secret. Melissa's writing style makes you feel as though you are in the book and everything feels so real. I really loved this series. You can read any of her books as they can stand alone on their own story But it's so much better when you read it as a series. You understand all the characters as they relate and are introduced later on. There are 3 Sorentino sisters: Amy, Rachel, Jenna. Each book features one of the sisters and gives you their life story. All three books are filled with sexy scenes, suspense, romance. I highly recommend all three! Below is the information so you can read the series.

HOW TO ROPE A REAL MAN is Book 3 in the Catcher Creek Cowboys series

Matt is a real smooth talker, "he turned her in his arms and took her right hand in his, his eyes flashing down the length of her. "Some things don't need to be said." I just loved Matt, "he took her hand in his and straightened to proper dancing posture. "Do you think I could ever deny you anything?" I mean the boy just gets my panties wet, "then put his lips close to her ear. "If you feel like that now, just wait until tonight when I can pamper you in the manner in which I want you to become accustomed." Oh, she liked the sound of that. She pressed her lips to his in a brief, enticing kiss, to leave him craving more. He crooked his finger, tugging a lock of hair still wrapped around it. "And by that, I mean I want you naked." I mean the boy can just be plain naughty, "do you have any idea how hot it makes me, thinking about my come inside you?" He sat forward, his co** pushing up over his stomach, and felt the moisture at the tip smearing across his abs. "I want to go to work tomorrow dreaming of you walking around with panties wet with my come. Eff, Jenna, it makes me damn crazy to think about that." I loved Jenna and Matt.

Finally the fun and sexy conclusion to the Catcher Creek series from Melissa Cutler. Jenna has been become used to keeping secrets from her family and from her tiny town of Catcher Creek. She loves her family but knows the only way to grow is to escape with her son. But she can’t leave behind a chance with sexy family lawyer, Matt. Matt has been in a relationship with women with children before and knows that having to say goodbye is hard not just on the adults but the children, too. He’s interested in Jenna but is not sure he’s willing to risk his heart again by losing her and her son. Their attraction is too hard to fight and as they fall deeper and deeper Jenna’s secrets start to come out. Can Matt accept all of her or does he have to walk away again? Really great conclusion to a fun series with sexy cowboys and some strong willed cowgirls. Loved being able to see everyone’s HEAs!

This book was a gift from a friend.

I love Melissa Cutler’s books, because she writes characters that are as close as real friends.

“How to Rope a Real Man” is the 3rd book in the Catcher Creek series, but the series can be read out of order and still be a wonderful reading escape.

Talk about secrets…Jenna, the third Sorentino sister who sure can keep secrets. She wants to have the life of her dreams for herself and her son, but then her secrets begin to unravel. As her secrets are exposed, she finds herself in situations she never wanted to face. Meanwhile, Jenna falls for Matt a sexy lawyer who has secrets of his own. Can the two share their secrets and build a life together or will they walk away from love? The excitement because of the secrets had me reading until the wee hours of the morning…This book is the perfect combination of love, yummy men, and suspense.

I loved this book; I wish there were more books to the Catcher Creek series.

Things Have a Way of Working Out

For too long Jenna has had a few secrets, secrets she's afraid people might be hurt about if she tells them. One she is going to tell her sisters soon, the other she doesn't want anyone ever knowing.
Matt has a secret or two himself. When he tells Jenna he only hopes she can accept him for him. Together they have to figure out that you can trust the people who love you.
Just when they think they may be headed in the right direction Jenna's worst secret comes out. Is there a way they can get past the past?
I have enjoyed the whole Catcher Creek series and this was no exception. Melissa Cutler has a way of writing that keeps you right in the story and the emotions of the characters. I only hope she is not done with Catcher Creek even though the three sisters have their lives headed in the right direction, I want to read Jake's story and Terra's too whether it's together or separate though I'm rooting for together.

Melissa’s writing grabs you right from the beginning of the story – it will keep you turning those pages until you reach a satisfying ending. This was one sexy read from beginning to end. The plotting moved the book at a comfortable pace – letting you get to know the main characters. She also brings back characters from the other books in the Catcher Creek series. I love that you are kept up to date with the happenings of the other Sorentino sisters. This author never disappoints. So if you like a story filled with hunky cowboys and lots of romance, then you should be reading How To Rope A Real Man.
