Half human, half monster, these silver-eyed slayers possess supernatural strength but are condemned to fight their savage impulses or lose their humanity completely.

In the northern town of Pieta, Clare and a force of Claymores battle a troupe of Awakened Ones to prevent them from advancing south. Their orders are to hold off the evil horde at all costs, while the Organization prepares a secret weapon. Clare and her comrades realize that theirs is a suicide mission. A middle of the road volume. The stories, chapters and arcs that don’t involve Claire as much just aren’t that interesting to me.

This was a great one as their battle with Rigaldo the lion continue Clare goes to the awakened form and she is sort of able to control him and defeat him and what follows there after is magnificent but a huge loss as someone has to sacrifice their lives for her to return to normal and that was such a hard hitting moment and emotional one too. The art there when she transforms is next level.

Seeing Isley and Luciela (the two abyss creatures) battling was epic and when they gain their "awakened" form and the art and shading there is so cool and gives you a sort of eerie feeling but just shows how hard the mangaka worked on those panels and then their fights which is just too good.

Plus we come to know about Alicia and Beth and its shocking seeing the lengths Claymore org is going. This volume was so cool and has "awakened" forms for many and the mangaka is hinting at there are more things that meets the eyes and big revelations are coming and even bigger battles with Clare right in the front center. I love how he sets up so many antagonists in such a short while in such perfection fashion and expands on the myth and the "history" of Claymore and the Yona/monsters they fight. One of the better volumes.

[ Re-read in 2023. ]

"You know... I was probably already dead back then. Maybe I was allowed to live only for the sake of this moment. […] I’m grateful to you. Thank you, Clare. I'm glad I met you."

4.5/5
The fight against Rigaldo made Clare awakened her 4 limbs that improved her strength, speed and power. But everything comes with a price, so after fighting against him and finally defeating him, she asks Helen to kill her so she dies a human instead of a full awakened yoma. Instead, Jane sacrifices herself in order to make Clare go back to her human form, but it ends up in another death that hits close home.

I have to admit I cried in this volume because all my favorite characters died in a shocking way and they couldn’t do nothing about it. Even the death of Undine felt so frustrating, because she was just a girl who wanted to become strong, so others wouldn’t die on her.

But I guess that’s just the way the remaining soldiers have to live: with the responsibility to avenge the fallen, the ones that sacrificed themselves in order to protect what they believed in.

The organization doesn’t seem to care about any of them, and they’re already planning on getting more ‘new Claymores’, as if the others were mere disposable trash.

I think that Isley and Priscilla are together because they have a sense of what’s wrong with the organization, so they might not be entirely on the wrong side. Oh, and last but not least, we get introduced to the remaining Creature of the Abyss: Luciela of the South!

4/5 This series has just become all out monster madness. We get to see an awesome battle with Clare and Riguldo while Clare awakens more and more. After this we have a few skirmishes ending the Battle in the North. This is also where the anime ended so from here on out it's new to me.

Later we are introduced to the Creature of the Abyss from the South, Luciela. Who is having a confrontation with Isley from the North.

We also get more info on what the Organization is up to.

Clare battling Riguldo on the cover of volume 11.

¿Cómo podrán sobrevivir a tan desfavorable desenlace?

Riccardo meritava tanto di più, Miria è sempre bellissima e finalmente ho visto all'opera no.1 e no.2, che trovo decisamente incredibili. VOGLIO SAPERE.

This volume contains what is probably my favorite chapter of the series thus far. Clare and Jean's moment as Clare was dealing with the backlash from awakening is incredibly emotional, and the whole scene just lands. It felt pivotal for Clare's character. And the rest of the volume bangs too. Clare awakening her limbs, Isley fighting the ruler of the south, the reveal of Alicia and Beth. I'm in love with this series.

Always more and always crazier!! Not sure how wild this will be by the end but so far so good. The story evolve, slowly for the main plot, but the action pack war and battle keep us in really hard! Love it!!

The designs for the yoma are really cool, and Claire in her limb awakened form is cool as well. The battles are epic, and seeing what the organization has planned raises the stakes. Fast paced as usual as well, with minimal dialogue. Looking forward to seeing Raki and Claire reunite as well.

Here I am, waiting for Clare and Raki to finally meet. And for Clare to finally be able to control her potential as a Claymore. I just can't wait for more bloody fights where Clare wins. :D

The fighting reaches new intensity in Claymore: Kindred of Paradise, Vol. 11 as Clare's powers morphs her into a beast of a killer. While battling Isley's lieutenant, Rigaldo, all hope seems lost for the remaining Claymores. In order to defeat Rigaldo, Clare pushes herself to her limits and all of her limbs awaken.

After Clare defeats Rigaldo, she teeters on the brink of losing her humanity. In a heartbreaking moment, Jean sacrifices herself in order to bring Clare back. This was almost as gut-wrenching as seeing Teresa decapitated. With the enemies getting stronger, I have a bad feeling there are going to be a lot more of these tragic moments.

Meanwhile, Galatea witnesses the Organization's new frightening experiment and most powerful weapon: the awakened Alicia (Claymore #1) and her twin sister Beth (Claymore #2). I'm really digging Galatea and her brazen attitude towards the Organization. Of course, because I like her, she will probably be dying soon.

Another character that has me totally intrigued is Isley. I love the complexity of his character. In one scene, he acts brotherly to Raki, training him in sword skills. He seems loving to Priscilla as well. But when he is confronted by Luciela, the Abyssal One of the South, he becomes a ruthless monster. Plus, he is a man, so was he one of the failed male Claymores? I'm so curious to find out his background.

The artwork continues to amaze me. The details in the background and in the awakened beings bodies are mind-blowing. I do find the fight scenes to be somewhat confusing, especially because most of the Claymores look so much alike. You really have to pay attention to the subtle differences in hairstyles in order to keep track of who's who.

The covers for this series are always stunning. Clare face-to-face with Rigaldo on this cover is absolutely gorgeous, especially with the glowing orange color. I also love that you can still see a glimmer of silver in Clare's eyes even though it's a profile image of her.

This series gets better and better with every volume. I cannot wait to see the battle between the Abyssal Ones. If the beginning fight between Isley and Luciela is any indication of the events to come, the next few volumes are surely to be exciting!

Claymore is a manga about Yoma who pretend to be human in order to kill and eat the humans. The Claymore are the hybrid of the two stronger faster but still human with the ability to slay the Yoma which they do for a price. They travel from village to village slaying Yoma with nothing but the sword on their back using the Yoma abilities but slowly turning into a monster that they hunt. When the time comes a Claymore will send a black card to another claymore to be slain before the Yoma takes over and so they die as a human.

In the 11th installment the Claymores are still fighting against the awakened beings hoping to hold them off till the organizations secret weapon is ready to start hunting. It’s clear that the mission may be the last for all the claymore’s because help isn’t coming in time. When a brutal attack from the awakened beings pushes Clare to far she may not be able to come back from awakening this time. What will the organization do after losing so many Claymore in one battle? What about the waring Abyssal’s who’ve decided to spread their wings.

I like Clare she’s a sword carrying slayer who isn’t afraid to die charging in risking her life. She may not survive every encounter but that doesn’t stop her from doing what has to be done protecting the humans. While most Claymore’s wouldn’t allow Raki to tag along she accepts him and maybe it’s partly because they are kindred but he needs her and she him to keep her humanity. I find Clare to be an intriguing character and can’t wait to see more about her back story as well as what’s going to happen next. We are given a little back story on Clare which introduces us to Teresa a Claymore whose life was changed by Clare.

I’ve seen all of the episodes on Netflix a few years ago actually binge watched them over a long weekend. I love the concept for the Claymore the hybrids created using parts from the monsters that they have been created to fight. While I am familiar with the story it’s interesting to see it play out as I read it. The art is great it gives me just enough to create the story in my head as I read each detailed page. This is only my 2nd manga so I don’t have a lot to go on but so far I’m super exited to read the series. Claymore is a fast paced loaded with action series that is captivating right from the start hard to put down till the last page. Can’t wait to start the next one in the series they just keep getting better. I feel like a voracious Reader because I can’t get enough.

This is the 11th volume in the Claymore series. It picks up right where volume 10 left off. It was very well done, it expands on the story quite a bit while also delivering some spectacular action scenes.

The war in Pieta continues as the Claymore continue their battle with Rigaldo the Lion. We are also introduced to Luceila of the South who is in conflict with Isley of the North. Lastly we gain a lot more insight into why the Claymore Organization sent this particular group of twenty-four Claymore to Pieta.

One of the coolest parts of the story was when Clare reveals yet another interesting ability that makes her powerful but in a much more subtle way than some of the other Claymore.

As with the previous novels there are tons of excellent fight scenes, these were better done and less confusing than the fight scenes in volume 10. The illustration is detailed and absolutely excellent.

The story makes more progress (if only slowly) and I am very excited to see where the story goes as Isley and Luceila are introduced into the mix.

Overall and excellent and action packed addition to the Claymore series. I continue to really enjoy the story, illustration, and characters. Highly recommended to those who enjoy dark fantasy manga.

Upon read this volume, I can finally say I've seen Yagi-sensei's drawing skill at its best in this series. Isley's awakened form, a sagitarius, is SUPER DUPER COOL. Clare's too. But if I have to pick my favorite one, then Jean's butterfly form is the most beautiful and mesmerizing form, her spirit's strength is really something too, to kept her human soul while in awakened form.
Meanwhile, Ophelia's snake form is really her soul reflection, lol, vicious and ruthless. I hate that girl, the most annoying girl but I saluted how she chose to end up her life, unconsciously.

And then, the organization, I dislike them even more. And I wonder, what's the untold story (yet) between the organization and creature of abyss?

Four to five stars for Claymore in general because ... SO MUCH! I guess individual volumes range from three to five, but at the moment I can't properly rate them individually because I ploughed through the manga re-reading a lot and just inhaling the newer volumes. I couldn't stop.
Super intriguing dystopia, mysteries over mysteries without getting less interesting, extremely creative body horror (ranging from beautifully other to horribly disgusting), carving your own path (sometimes, most often, with a sword) and meaningful personal relationships that do not centre around romance at all. Oh, yeah, and 95% of the characters are female.

Semplicemente bellissimo. L'evoluzione di Clare è pazzesca e . Raki ancora non ha capito con chi ha stretto amicizia... Questo volume sancisce il mio odio definitivo per l'organizzazione che opera sopra le claymore.

This is some of the best action in manga.

The way Yagi is able to subtly differentiate his huge cast of characters with eye shape, hairstyle, proportion, and small details of costume reflects a refined skill.

Driven to the brink of defeat, with Miria about to be killed (All is lost), Clare summons the will to partially awaken, acquiring super-speed legs. And eventually multi-blade arms as well which enable her to purée Rigaldo. (Epiphany)

However, Clare then loses control of her awakened form and asks Helen to kill her. (Rug Pull) Jean intervenes, using the last of her strength to synchronize Yoma energy with Clare and pull her back from the abyss, just as Clare once saved Jean in Riful’s dungeon. (+)

Hordes of Awakened ones continue to attack and the defeat of the remaining 6 claymores seems inevitable. (-, cliffhanger)

The story then shifts to villain viewpoint. Raki is still training swordsmanship with Isley. Priscilla runs out into a blizzard and cries as she senses life forces snuffed out in Pieta (sting), raising the question again of the Claymores’ fate.

Isley orders his army to the east and west, using them as decoys while he himself moves south to challenge Luciela.

Riful pulverizes the western detachment.

The eastern forces are finely chopped by the Organization’s now-revealed secret weapon — Alicia in tandem with her twin, Beth. One twin can fully awaken while the other retains their humanity, although they have sacrificed all individual identity.

A prior Organization experiment in controlling awakened beings with sisters ended in disaster, with one twin becoming a monster (Luciela ?) and the other (Rafaela?) injured and still seeking a final battle to put the creature to rest.

All this exposition is revealed by the bald guy with goggles to Galatea, who is disgusted by the depravity.

Earlier, we learned that the organization plans to eliminate her as she is getting too rebellious.

Today's post is on Claymore volume 11: Kindred of Paradise by Norihiro Yagi. It is the eleventh the long running Claymore series, you need to have read the first ten volumes to understand the story. It is 189 pages long and is published by Shonen Jump Advanced. The cover has Clare and Rigalo on it facing off. The intended reader is someone who likes dark plots, high action, and strong female characters. There is mild foul language, no sexuality, and lots of violence in this book. The story is told from third person close of the main character. There Be Spoilers Ahead.

From the back of the book- In the northern town of Pieta, Clare and a force of Claymores battle a troupe of Awakened Ones to prevent them from advancing south. Their orders are to hold off the evil horde at all costs, while the Organization prepares a secret weapon. Clare and her comrades realize that theirs is a suicide mission. As their friends fall one by one, the warriors band together to make their last stand.

Review- We pick up right where we left with Rigalo trying to kill the leaders of the Claymore band. Lots of fighting in this volume but then we have moments with Raki and the Awakened Beings who are caring for him. Raki has no idea about who they are but he does know that there is something odd about Priscilla. The fight with Rigalo almost drives Clare past her limits but Jean brings her back at a high cost. The volume ends in a cliffhanger with Isley sais that all the lights, the Claymores, have gone out. But the Organization planned for that and have made a very powerful Claymore that is only to kill Awakened Beings and she does. This is a very good volume and I am very curious about where the story is going to go now.

I give this volume a Five out of Five stars. I get nothing for my review and I bought this manga with my own money.

Okay...I'm starting to realize that the story is just gonna be a bit nuts.

World: The art is fantastic and the action sequences kinetic. The world building is choppy and a bit over the top. Once again we get new pieces of information but not a lot of context other than a excuse to fight. New pieces on the board and that's about it.

Story: The story is 90 percent action and that has been the case for this series for a while and while it's really fun to read these action sequences the story does need some depth, especially the world logic and building. New pieces come into play again and still there is a lack of concrete logic and point to the entire story. Why are these beings fighting? Can we get a more in depth explanation on the Yoma powers? What is the organization and it's point of existence? How are Claymore created? How are Yoma created? Nope we are not getting anything in that area, but more fighting and yeah new characters to fight. I'm starting to see the point of this series now. It's good, but the fighting has overtaken the main story and I wished that were not the case.

Characters: A lot of new character this time around and the fact they all wear the same armor and carry the same swords does the book no favors as it's so hard to distinguish character apart. I know that this is suppose to be a faceless army but still. There are snippets of character here and there, like Jean but overall there is a not a lot of depth or development this time around, just more fighting. We get new pieces and new monster fights but that's about it.

The fighting is great, the lack of story is not.

Onward to the next book!
