For Princess Crystal's birthday, the king gives her a magic locket. The wicked witch wants it for herself and captures the Princess. But by wishing for things to help her friends the princess's kindness is repaid. Children will be delighted by this charming story.
The locket opens so that you can place your favorite pictures inside to keep them safe. There is also a chain on it so that you can wear it too!
I was rummaging through my bookshelf when I came across The Princess and the Magic Locket hidden under piles and piles of books. I've read this book when I was in the lower grades and I remember not letting go of it and begging to get it, laughing! I think what made me want it even more was the locket, now I'm wondering where did I dump it.
I've reread The Princess and the Magic Locket just before typing down this review and I realize that I still find this book absolutely beautiful, from the cover to the pages to the exquisite illustrations and of course, the locket.
The story is about a princess who's given a special locket from her father. It's not just any locket though, it's a magical one! The spell cannot inflict pain, it can only heal and do good. Enter the evil witch who wants the locket all to herself, and so she steals the locket. When the witch realizes that it's not working, she sets out and kidnaps the princess! What happens next is left for you to find out. :]
A princess is given a magic locket with a spell that will only let it do good to help people. A witch steals the locket but can not make it work. She then kidnaps the princess and the adventure begins. The little girl that I read it to really enjoyed it.
This book was a nice 4 year birthday gift for my daughter...but more so because she loved the locket than the actual story. The actual story is long and wordy and a bit blah.
