This is a great first chapter for a book never written. The amount of world-building packed into 40 pages is quite impressive. Sexy and tough, this sheriff is all one could ask for.
I understand that there are reasons that the rest of the story didn't get written, I wish it had.

It was interesting but the flow was off.
A bit of an apocalyptic feel to it and government experimentation.
What little there was of world and character build made me wish it was a longer read and part of a series.
It could have been better, but definitely enough good to make me interested in reading more of this author's work.

Dystopian Erotica
Quite enjoyable read. A touch of the old west intermingled with the future. Throw in a strong female heroine mixed in with an even stronger anti hero with heart, some erotic heat and you've got yourself quite an interesting tale.

While I'm not much of a post-apocalyptic or sci-fi fan, I found this short book to be a good read. It had a short but good story line as well as good interaction between the characters. There was a well written graphical hot and steamy portion of the book that is definitely Rated R. The author did a great job of keeping me not wanting to stop through the 38 pages. Very well written and worth my 5 star rating.

I love fell in love with Cari's writing when I read my first book by her 'Take Me, Break Me'. Since then I have read many more of her books.
In typical Cari style this one was well written and smoking hot, albeit a little too short.
I do hope the author decides to continue with this series, as per the synopsis.

Awesome little read!
My first book by this author and wow it's super! Very well written and hot as Hell. Hopefully she'll continue this world and characters! I have already purchased three of the authors other books!

Well, It felt like I picked up this fallen apart book and I only got to read a random middle chunk of 4 or so chapters. yes, disappointed
I didnt get the full story!
This little story has great potential and I find it unfair to rate it low because we were given a glimpse instead of the book.
I can only hope Cari Silverwood will consider writing this in full and continueing by making it a series. I like the sheriff Rose and I like the stranger on the motorbike and I like being left wanting more! This would have been a 5star if it was the whole story!

a VERY short story, not much back story or character development, seems like this is an idea that one day might become a book ( as mentioned by the author).
for now i'd call this a confusing, open ended peek into what could be very interesting storyline

A quick read, short story, a heroine as Sheriff of a desert town, and the man in black who can dominate her. He´s one hot Alpha male *rawr* and I´d love to read more from this world!!

This short is an intriguing mix of suspense, sex, and dystopian future. The male and female main characters form a definite connection, so I have classed it as romance, but it is really too short for actual love to develop. A 2013 publication, it feels a bit like the prequel to a series that never quite happened.

very confusing
As far as I could tell upon purchase, this is meant to be a stand alone book, but there as a lot about it that is missing quite a bit of world building and context. The speed the story moves is overly quick, it lacks detail and polish, and could benefit from an editor and/or a better editor.

What i have read so far interests me, but there obviously more to tell in this story... I found even though the author has packed so much with in these few pages... i actually got enthralled. Often i do not remember to read the next instalment, but i hope in this case i do remember.

The story immediately drew me in. Post-apocalypse. A woman with about a quarter of her skin covered with tattoos. Especially a no-nonsense woman with tattoos. I was fascinated by the creation of the "hell-sewn." Oh, and a mystery man. I loved Rose's thoughts as she studied him, then when he finally spoke to her. The building action between them was a crazy turn-on. I enjoyed the pace of the eroticism, the details leading up to and during the sex. The torture and the teasing kept me pushing the "page forward" button of my e-reader. I was grateful how the author wove an interesting adventure story around the sex and romance. I was sad that the author wrote a short story and I've sent her fan mail, hoping that she writes more with these characters.

It was hard to rate this because it is just a short story that by definition doesn't have much development. So I'm taking it at that value. Not a terrible read, and this could be a very interesting world. This probably would definitely be a good one shot or multi one shot series set in this post apocalyptic scene. Hellsewn individuals also seem very promising. If you are looking for a quick one shot sexy time, this isn't a bad choice, and hey, it was free :)

As a sex-story it's interesting but the world is too vague and the main character is too easily swayed to an entirely different view of life by a very inadequately describe off camera event. The male main character is also too quick to accept her change of heart. Needs to be filled in but has the potential to be a really good book.

While I enjoyed this short tale, I did feel somewhat robbed that it ended so abruptly, with no real answer to the plot.
I can only hope that the author does consider revisiting this world and continuing the story where she left off.
That said, I would recommend it, as long as you go in prepared to be left hanging!

The only thing wrong with this story is that it was too short. I enjoyed what there was and would like to find out what the rest of the story is, what is going on with the sheriff and how they were going to rescue the brother and the rest of the unanswered questions.
