Mr. Mischief has the measles and must spend his week in bed. He thinks he can spread them to Mr. Happy and it will spread all over town. This is not mischief, this is dastardly. Wanting people to get sick is pretty evil in my view. Lucky for our town, Mr. Happy has had them and this makes Mr. Mischief feel bad. I have to say, I am no fan of Mr. Mischief. Do no harm is my motto and that could certainly be harmful.

Written by his son Adam Hargreaves. Our family is a fan.

Usually the non-moralistic books of the Mr. Men franchise are miles better but this one is just plain awful. Mr. Mischief is practically setting up a murder, what the hell? When I first saw the book cover I thought he was painting chickenpox on himself to pretend he caught it because that's a popular trope in kids' media but no, the plot is him trying to give everyone the measles for no reason. That can be dangerous, it's a very good thing Mr. Happy had already caught it before.

This is not mischievous, it is downright horrible and nasty. I was expecting something cheeky or slightly troublesome, not vindictive.

And with this book Mr Mischief becomes the worst person in all of Mr Men land.

Mr Mischief is a rather nasty soul. Thankfully his scheming plans don’t amount to anything this time. The illustrations were amazing!

My grandchildren love the Mr Men books and this extra story was given when one of them had measles. He thought it funny and it was easy to read.

I think this hits differently reading this in 2025. I know it's fiction, but it still feels...unsettling to be seemingly blasé about measles :/
