“The guys shared more than friendship. They were a unit and I was now part of it.”
In book one, Ren and Myles felt like the main characters, they had the focus and started the buildup in this story. It was slow but engaging, it left me with so many questions and very little patience for the second instalment. Book two had a bigger focus on Blake and showed a totally different side of him. He became this sweet and vulnerable guy with issues, who is also falling for his best friend’s girl.

I love how this story pulls together more and more, while adding more components that have you guessing at what will happen next. Who is Ren really and where did she come from. I have a feeling who she is going to be to someone she doesn’t like much (figure that one out on your own!) Her dad is a mystery waiting to be unraveled and the event that had him move Ren to another country and to this school is a bigger part of this story, I’m sure.
“Pain and revenge were the fuel that had brought us together, but friendship and respect fused us forever.”
This part of the series really delves deeper into the complicated mess of their families and the upcoming expectations. Not everything is at is seems and there are twisting and turning parts nobody will see coming, I’m sure of that.
Even if the romance/harem part is the slowest of build ups and a very slow slow burn, the story is intriguing. It has so many moving parts that fit together in so many ways, I have no idea where we’re going but I know it will be worth it. I can’t wait to read the next book in this series, Brooklyn better hurry up!

This was good, until it wasn’t.
Relationship building was coming along nicely with several of the guys, and then Axel happened. This caused me to take several stars off, as this was sickening. Yes this is supposed to be a dark romance but the assault was more than I could handle. Sorry…

As the relationships begin to deepen, we learn more about Blake and his conflicts, but without leaving the others out.
So far, Liam and Theo are big mysteries.
What I've liked about this series is that, unlike other reverse harem’s, the focus here is really on building the relationship and developing the story... not the sex.
There are some steamy moments, some intimate scenes, but the pace for that is definitely slow.

Ok, these guys. This series, my whole heart is obsessed with them. The last word of the book and I was already devastated that the next book wasn't out yet. I cannot recommend this book/series more. LOVE!!!

In second book I saw lot of Blake. The story starts to unfold giving access to you to their backstory.
As it's reverse harem, we can see multiple men. Here both Myles and Blake started to develop feelings for Ren. Now the things will come in between like if they are ready to share her or not .
Liam, Theo and Nash... Their story is somehow opened up as little specifically in bits and moving to the end we do get to know a little more.
Nash is Nash... The tension between him and Ren is getting thicker. Let's see where it goes.
Sometimes there were moments when I laughed hard but at the same time there were gut wrenching moments where I cried the hell out.
Full rollercoaster ride of angst, drama, danger but yes it's an amazing book to read.
But again we are left at a cliffhanger by our author. WHY WHY WHYYYYYY
If we talk about spice then it's minimal easily handled but the tension is quite thick and heavy at some points.
Now I'm waiting for the 3rd book.

Pain...pain...laughter, anger, sadness, and more pain, but you will love it! This book deals with a heavy topic, so check triggers before diving in. I instantly missed Ren and the boys after the first book ended and when this hit my tbr, I forgot all other responsibilities to read it as fast as I could. Myles, you adorable Irishman, you will always have my heart istg. The other guys are amazing in their own right, but you, you are above and beyond. This is the first why-choose book, where I wished in some small way the other boys would leave the girl to one guy. Not that I don't love Ren and Blake's compatibility, just Myles deserves the happiness Ren gives him and I was scared it would get messed up. Brooklyn has written each relationship with a different flow and feeling from the others and I love it. Ren is different in great ways with each one. Now to address the pain...first how dare that happen, iykyk. 2 different occasions where I wanted to fling my phone and cry into my pillow. There were smaller incidents, but there are two that really hurt the worst. At this point, I think Brooklyn enjoys our hurt. She is an amazing author and did a great job of writing this story and with that ending, I don't know if I am ready for book 3 or not. I mean I definitely want it, but I will probably be reading through my fingers the whole time.

First and most important. Trigger warnings. You list an OD but not 🍇? What is wrong with you.
I have no problem reading about it. But that came completely out of nowhere and was really hard. I haven’t cried in a long time while reading but that made me tear up.
With all the shit that happened in this book, all the physical progress that was made, was back to square one and I don’t know how I feel about that. Those books are already too long and now I don’t see any physical things happen until maybe the last book. Which gives the relationship a weird standing.
More happened, but at the same time, nothing at all. It’s time for some answers and I don’t think we will getting any in book three.
Thank god I like the characters or otherwise that book would’ve gotten only 1 ⭐️.
BUT if the author does something like the 🍇 scene again and it’s not in the trigger warnings. I will block her and not finish the series. I really don’t want to support authors wo are doing this. Nothing could’ve prepared me for this. This book is not even really dark, so I definitely haven’t predicted it. I already started book three, but I’m still mad about book two.

These are definitely the words I would use to sum up this read and what a great one it has been! There are a lot of emotions, angst and tension in this book for each of our characters to work through and not all of them are willing to work on it 😣 Ren is has to deal with a lot in this book (some of which does have TWs so please check!) and honestly you have to admire her character for the tenacity she has to plow through it all. I liked the realistic aspect of how the author portrays Ren’s emotions and responses to dealing or in the end not dealing with this…
Myles is steadfast throughout this book and honestly the man melts my heart in all he would do and does for Ren - defo book boyfriend 😍 this book also focuses on Blake and the issues that he has to face and his incorporation into Ren’s life 🔥 it is not plain sailing but you can definitely feel the emotion there!
The other boys (Theo and Liam) are on the fringes a little bit but understandable so and I feel w are certainly going to learn more about them going forward. Nash is still a Nashole - with minor minuscule snippets of goodness.
I’m enjoying the mystery surrounding Ren who she could be and why is everyone so interested in her!! Have a feeling that cliffie may help…

This series, just keeps getting better and better and my questions keep getting longer and my need for more is unhealthy. Chokehold is an understatement at this point.
Book 2, focused more on Ren, Myles and Blake. Two best friends who are in love with our Ren. Nash of course is around being Nash… a dick but I can’t hate him. Liam and Theo, the story I need the most. We got a little bit more on them but for me it wasn’t enough and I’ll be itching until I get more of them both. THAT SCENE THOUGH…
Ren, she copped it in this book. Did I cry? Yup. She literally has the best support system and I’m glad of it cause not many people would still be breathing after what she has been through.
Blake, I just wanted to hug him and tell him it’s okay. The growth of Blake in this book is crazy and I’m so damn proud of him. Also HIS SECRET WAS EVERYTHING!!
Myles, would literally die for Ren. My heart broke for him a thousand times over after what he went through for her. His far from worthless is all I’m going to say.

Oh Ms. Brooklyn Cross...how you love to toy with my emotions!! This second installment of The Kings of Wayward Academy took this series to a whole new level. Not only do we get deeper into the drama of The Kings and their family situations, but we have some major relationship progression between Ren and Myles...and Blake. I do love a good why-choose romance, but there is something about a why-choose that is formed organically, and not with an established group of MMCs that have experience with this type of polyamorous relationship, that really gets me excited. It adds so much tension, both good and bad, that elevates the reading experience. Add to that some highly emotional confrontations from multiple protagonists and you get a book that will have you feeling ALL THE THINGS!! I will be on pins and needles until the next book drops because I cannot wait to get to the bottom of some of these mysteries.

“Defiant knight” is the 2nd book in the “kings of wayward academy” series.
Gah I am loving this series and I never want it to end. Brooklyn cross is a mastermind and I adore her stories, not only does she write wonderful stories that have you hanging on every word but she gives you so much angst.

Gah I am loving this series and I never want it to end. Brooklyn cross is a mastermind and I adore her stories, not only does she write wonderful stories that have you hanging on every word but she gives you so much angst.

From making you laugh, then making you hot and squirming for more to ripping you heart out and having you in tears - oh she does it all!!
Ren is still in Wayward, still being attacked from all sides, still being worshipped and longed after and still holding her head high - what this girl goes through would have bigger men falling, I truly truly adore her.
Myles is still head over heels in love and faces evil like no other, man my heart hurts so bad for that boy!
Blake has demons that he's trying to fight but is he going to be strong enough to overcome them?
Nash is still an overbearing egotistical jerkwad that you can't help but want!
Theo and Liam are still quite an enigma, we do get a tad more but I most definitely need more!!
All in all.... Truly fekin' brilliant! And I can't explain how excited I am for more!

Ohhh Brooklyn you are playing with me on this book. To say I have been waiting is an understatement. These boys and Ren have my heart, and the more i learn about them the more of my heart and soul they take. Myles won me over in book 1 and is still keeping the number 1 seat right now. HOWEVER… Nash has crept up and is now snuggling with Myles in that seat. I have my theories about what is going to happen in this series but that is for another time to discuss. I am here to say that if you have not started this series you are missing out. Make the time and start with Disobedient Pawn then this book. Now Brooklyn… my heart is waiting on pins and needles for book 3, 4, 5… however many you are planning with this series. You have me hooked ma’am! Absolutely love it all!

I don’t know what Brooklyn Cross puts in these books, but they are addicting!!! I am greedily devouring this series and can’t wait to see what comes next.
Loved getting to know Myles, Blake, and Nash on a deeper level, especially as they interact with Ren and each other. They all go through some shit in this book, but I loved seeing them all band together when it truly mattered. Leaning on each other for strength and finding a spark of light in the darkness as only a found family could. And oh what darkness they all carry!!
Can’t wait to take a deeper dive into Theo and Liam as the series continues. Excited to see just how all these relationships unfold as secrets come to light and we learn more about Ren’s past.

I’m enjoying this series, there’s so many unanswered questions and it’s definitely building to some big reveals, the why choose aspect is building as well Ren is now in a relationship with 2 out of 5, and I like the slow build because you get to see each individual relationship. It’s also getting darker with what’s happening too/around them all, which I’m here for I like my books dark and I’m not sorry for that, I’m really excited to see where this goes…

I loved this book and couldn’t wait for read it. Ren is amazing and I love that she does take take anything from anyone, her relationship with the kings are each unique. This is a book you definitely want to have on your shelf and I can’t wait for the next one.

Brooklyn you’re killing me here but in a good way. Blake maybe my favorite guy the pain and suffering. I live a man who needs to be fixed 😈 I was definitely on the edge of my seat through this whole book. Triggers may need to be checked but it was so good and book 3 will be here soon well!!!

I don’t know where to begin.. other than I love all these characters sm. The bonds that just constantly keep flowing and the personal growth between individual characters is just beautiful. Not only that but the on going mystery of who Ren is, will have you not wanting to put the book down but be aware of trigger warnings cause you might cry like I did…

This book answered so many questions from book one, but only left with more questions. The way this book ended wasn't fair cause now I have to wait for book 3. I still adore the FMC and her strong personality and even when she felt like falling down, she STILL got back up! The progression between the characters and their relationships will have you on the edge of your seat. I don't want to give any spoilers but I am so curious about the silent one who is usually quiet but tracked her down. What is his story? Will they become more? ahh! idk! the author definitely writes a compelling story!

I’m still in love with Nash. But I’m so glad Myles & Blake redeemed themselves with Snowflake. My home girl went through it in this book. Can’t wait to read the next one !

Such an amazing read!!! To try and put the words together to explain this book will be rough without giving away any spoilers!! I definitely and voting for my Nash but I also love my Blake and Myles!! The MFC Ren is such a strong female character that has gone through so much between last book and this one she definitely has a way to work through her issues!!! I can't wait to see what Brooklyn has in store for us next!!
