Get to grips with a new technology, understand what it is and what it can do for you, and then get to work with the most important features and tasks. This book is written in practical Starter style with lots of helpful examples which will guide you gently into the world of nginx. This book is targeted at those people who are new to nginx and want to learn the intricacies of nginx web server. The book assumes that the readers have basic knowledge of Linux and backends such as PHP, Apache, Ruby, and Python.
Very, very brief. However it contained the essentials for understanding how Nginx can route requests and its role in delivering static content while pushing dynamic requests to fully-featured back-ends using some intelligent load balancing along with a verbose but logical configuration to manage it all. Not comprehensive but enough to chew on as an introduction.
Who is this book for? It can be used by people who want to get started with Nginx, but I believe it is best suited for sysadmins managing Apache webservers and who want to quickly get familiar with Nginx. It is worth more than 3*, but 4 would be too much.
